introducing the new black barbies

Confession: I was a Barbie freak growing up. So much of one that I played with them until I was in the 8th grade... At least.

Another confession: I'm uber jealous they've been coming out with cool Barbies ever since then because I can't go out and buy them and consider myself a normal 22 year old. Lame.

I say this because they are now introducing a new "line" of black Barbies... Ones that have features that "more closely resemble the features of a black woman."

First of all- No Barbie has relatively real or proportional features, but whatever.

Apparently they have fuller lips, a wider nose, and curly hair.

This is Grace and lil sis Courtney

Trichelle/Janessa

Kara/Kianna

Well... Interesting name choices, for sure. I'm surprised they didn't just go with Shaniqua or something. They seem to have 3 different complexions which is cool, for sure. Trichelle looks like she's got some Puerto Rican blood in her!

The creator of the dolls, Stacey McBride-Irby said this about her dolls:

“I believe that a happy inspired childhood creates happy, inspired, powerful women. I want my new So In Style dolls to not only be an authentic representation of my community and culture, but to also encourage girls to be inspired and dream big.”

They're definitely not the black Barbies I had, and they are pretty... But dang... The make-up is out of control! They look like the hookers you see on documentaries on HBO or whatever late at night. Yikes.

I guess it was about time for a change, though. I support it 100%!!

watch: covers of party in the usa

Admit it: Miley Cyrus is your guilty pleasure. She is definitely one of mine, especially this "Party in the USA" song. I swore I hated it, but I lied.

People are lovin' singing it, though. But that's not what I'm posting this for. That'd be stupid.

This girl Brittani Taylor made her own version of the song called "Everything's Gonna Be OK" and it's really good.

It's a tad emotional just because of the video and topics, but overall it's a happy song and she's playing the guitar and singing naturally.

Am I right or am I right?! It's good, right?! Someone give this girl a record deal and let her write some of her own songs now!

Well... With her own beats and stuff, I mean.

On a completely different note... While I was searching for this, I ran into this video that made me giggle. It shouldn't make me giggle, and maybe I'm gonna go to H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks because of it, but oh well.

Woooaaahhhhh homegirl... Don't you know not to put things like that on YouTube?! No bueno. Bahaha... But so good at the same time.

christening the dallas stadium

Wow! I never thought I'd be combining a football post with an "X-rated" tag! Thanks to the all-new Dallas Cowboys Stadium [ugh, I hate that I'm thanking that...] I can do such things!

Every new item needs a good, public christening. Luckily, two relatively young Irvin fans did that for everyone Monday night.

According to this guy, this picture, and this video, a couple headed to the bathroom and got jiggy with it for everyone to see, hear, and take pictures of.

As soon as they walked out, as you might expect, they got quite the applause. There was also someone who welcomed them to YouTube. TRUE story.

I try to imagine myself as them. Part of me is really, really embarrassed and I would run as fast and as far as I could, right after slapping my guy in the face for "making" me do such a thing. The other part of me is like "These two are now legends. They christened a stadium that is going down in the history books."

How do you feel about it?

And b-t-dubbs... as much as I hate to say it... Yes, this stadium is pretty nuts and will definitely go down in stadium Hall of Fame, if they were to have such a thing. As much as the video screen is annoying, I hear the stadium is outrageously incredible. I also hear they have cage dancers.

So... As my Redskins fail to excite me right now [although I will never turn my back on them no matter what happens.. I love them 'til the end, fair weather or not], I have to turn to the X-ratedness of Cowboys fans. [I will never depend on the Cowboys for anything, Scout's Honor.]

Thank you for putting your private business out there for the world to see. Literally.

watch: awesome i gotta feelin one-take video

I never really knew about this fascinating thing we shall call "one-take videos." A group of people gets together and creates a video that is not edited and is done in one take.

You probably think "yeah.... Uhhh.. Okay.. I don't get it... Nor do I care to really watch this video."

You're wrong, my friend. You should watch this video that was done by a school in Quebec because you will enjoy it. You will also want to create something just like it. I know this for a fact.

That was awesome, wasn't it?! Am I right or wrong?! If I'm wrong- please keep it to yourself... I'm not in the mood to get my heartbroken.

172 people were involved in this and they planned and executed it all in just a couple hours! The timing was perfect for everything, and it all looked super cool!

I can figure out how they did it, but the planning is the crazy part... Along with them all ending up in the same place at the end.

My gears are going a mile a minute in my brain right now... Trying to come up with something similar. No luck so far.

the craziest car interiors ever

I've always wanted to get an old VW Bus and pimp it out hard core. Get some nice big couches in there, a kegorator, a good sound system, and maybe a nice TV or something. It would probably be hot pink, yellow, and orange inside since those are the colors of everything in my life.

Anyway, sometimes when I can't make things happen, I like to live vicariously through others. I shall do that now.

These cars have some of the most outrageous pimped out interiors you probably never thought it was possible.

This takes "iced out" to a whole new level.

This is just scary and would make me run far, far away.

Who loves pink?! How 'bout some Luis Voutton with that?!

This is how I imagine my Bus... Uber comfy seating.

For all you Hello Kitty fans... I thought that fad died years ago.

This is a 2003 Civic.... Worth over $235,000. I know someone who would probably kill for this thing.

Gold and mahogany to add to your bling, sir?

Just in case you weren't geeky enough...

Combine the comfy seating with this EL CAMINO and I have my dream VW Bus. Swivel seating: totally dangerous, but uber desirable.

As for this... It just makes my head hurt.

I mean, seriously... Imagine meeting someone with any of these cars. You'd never stop talking about it.

They give me inspiration and I thank them and their owners for it.

watch: kids dancing to britney

Ohhh my goodness this is precious.

I've seen babies dancing to Beyonce over and over again, but I never saw any dancing to my BritBrit. [Maybe it's because their parents are a little more embarrassed, who knows... They shouldn't be! Not anymore, anyway...]

Well, now my dreams have come true. Okay.. I haven't been dreaming about babies dancing to B. Spears. That's a little awkward. I have been yearning to see it, though.

...Wait. That sounds like I want to see child porn or something. That's not okay. Ah. Anyway... Check out all these precious little things dancing to Britney Spears:

Oh... That musta been his ringtone for his imaginary cell phone I bet... Good choice, kid. Don't let your boys tell you otherwise.

I know, dude... That songs makes me wanna move and get crazy as soon as it comes on, too.

The fact that I learned some words thanks to her singing is embarrassing. This 3 year-old must love her Britney. I wonder what she'll think when she's old enough to actually know what she's singing.

She may not know all the words, but she gets the point. She's also about to learn the importance of chair dancing.

You know you have a good kid when they start dancing as soon as Britney comes on, and then crank up the volume.

It's also a good sign when they drop all their toys when BritBrit comes on so they can make their way over to her on the TV.

This one actually leaves me speechless... And rather scared... So maybe I should stop.

So how about that BEYONCE?! Do you have babies just dropping everything for you?

I can't wait until one of these lil kiddies are my own. My kids will for sure like her, just like many people a little younger than me loved MJ because of their parents.

watch: 100 viral videos in 4 minutes

Oh this is like crack.

All of the videos that have become uber viral in the last year or so- combined into one, quick video that only shows you the second or two that really matter of each video.

Prepare to laugh. Hard. For a couple minutes. Please remember to breathe.

At least half of those videos have been posted on here, for sure... Probably even more. I am now determined to find the others!

The only videos I can think of that they're missing are the flash mob videos. The Grand Central Station one will go down in history.

Also... Who is homegirl who starts and finishes the video?! She seems random to me.

Now I shall watch again.... And save it for any time I'm feeling low.

friends: the movie is a go!

OH EM GEE!!! It's time to get excited, people!

The cast and crew of FRIENDS has made it official: There will be a movie!!!

All of the cast members are said to be on board, and expected release is in 2011!

They've all said at different times that they'd be down to make the movie, but for whatever reason it never happened. Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox both told Ellen they give the thumbs up to the idea, if I remember correctly.

So once the script is written [by the same creators as the show! SCORE!], the crew will return to the same set once again. [Ellen took Jennifer to the set on her show last season and they took a few things, so it may look a tad different, but not much!]

There's not much else known as of now, but as more comes out, you can bet you'll find out all the info right here! AH! I'm so excited!

What do you think will happen in the movie? How will the storyline continue?! Sound off below! I'd LOVE to hear everyone's ideas!

The countdown is ON!

celebrating or remembering the summer of death

Finally... As of this past week, the Summer of Death is officially over. We can live with smiles on our faces and without fear of hearing another icon has passed away.

This will, without a doubt, be a summer to remember because of it all, though. So... A town in Ohio decided to make a collection of some of the skeletons we will certainly miss.

Some of them are very... Well.... Some people might say "it's too soon." They're hilarious if you can look past that, though. Fo sho.

Michael Jackson

Farrah Fawcett

Billy Mays

There are actually more at this little "exhibit", but they're not from this summer.

When I first looked at it I thought it was pretty terrible but ya know... After losing as many celebrities as we did, something like this only makes sense. I think of it as a way to celebrate their life, remember them, and remember the summer of 2009. AKA: The Summer of DEATH.

RIP Summer of Death. We will not miss you.

watch: life with 140 character limit

Yet another example of a video that I didn't think would be funny until I gave it a chance. These days I'm making sure I give everything at least 10 seconds of a chance.

What would life in the office be like if you only had 140 characters to say everything you needed to? Or what if you had to pause every 140 characters? Well, life would be a little more awkward, and a lot more funny.

I don't even have a reaction. It's just great. I love Twitter, and I love the internet.

nifty: internet tees worth your money

There's this thing going on where you can nominate someone's tweet[s] and then vote on them and they just might get printed on a shirt!

They're pretty freakin' funny... Some of them, anyway. Here are just some of my favorites:

Basically those are just the ones I would buy... And not because I'm conceited [I'm huge on Twitter] but because it would just be funny to wear.

I wonder if any of my tweets would be worthy of a tee? Hmmm.... I might have to go through them and maybe send over a couple nominations.

Another funny tee on the internet right now: Imma let you finish.

I know, I know... I said no more Kanye. I'm sorry. But this shirt is funny because it could be taken in multiple ways and well... Pun intended, my friends.

Now excuse me while I go make some money... Somehow.....

watch: glee does single ladies

Have you been watching Glee?!?! For some terrible reason that I don't know, I have not. I know I need to. I know I'll love it. I know I'll become obsessed just like I was with The OC... Which is what I've been yearning for ever since it RIP'ed.

Anyway... Last night's episode apparently featured the football team calling a timeout and breaking out into the Single Ladies dance and then... Well, you'll have to watch.

No matter who does this dance, it's hilarious every time. That's about the only good thing about the song.

What a CLEVER idea though, right?! I mean... Get everyone into the song and dance, practice your formation, and HIKE!!!!!

Sir Toby Knapp had a fabulous idea for the Redskins: try this trick! We'll have everyone lovin' us if they did try it, and it would be a guaranteed touchdown, something that we're in need of.

Good work, writers of Glee. I promise I will tune in ASAP.

morning hangover 092409

GOOOOOOD MORNING PEOPLE! It's THURSDAY! Make it through today, and it's smooth sailing!

  • Ladies.. Don't believe everything Cosmo tells you... Especially these 5 things.
  • These are amazing. This site will make you feel a little less embarrassed about your family... Unless, of course, you're posted on here.
  • And this site will make you ladies feel less awkward about sucking.. I mean.. eating hot dogs. [Featuring Sarah from the Kane Show!!]
  • Calling all Trey Songz fans! If you'd like to be in his upcoming video, it's as easy as hitting record from your own house!
  • Say byebye to those flavored cigarettes! They're officially banned! Just another reason to try the e-cigarette, I guess!
  • This kid is 4 years old and doing Travis Barker's drumming spot during a Blink182 song! Officially amazed.
  • Sometimes I wonder where restaurants get their name from... These... I don't even wanna know.
  • HILARIOUS! There are two sides to every "FML." Don't be the victim.
  • Want to make yourself feel like a terrible person for having sex? Find out how many partners you've really had.
  • Forget having an affair with your teacher! It's time to move on to bigger and better things... Like your bus driver!
  • Little Suri Cruise was spotted wearing heels and everyone is in an UPROAR! But why?! Can't a girl play dress-up every now and then?! I love her.
  • Ever notice the balance problem Matthew McConaughey has?!
  • This is creepy. It's like part Miley Cyrus, part Perez Hilton, part Lady Gaga, and part.... I don't know... Old Michael Jackson or something. So much for liking this song.

That's going to do it for today! Everyone enjoy your day and b-t-dubbs.... For all you RWDC fans, will I see you tonight?!

kanye keeps interrupting

Alright, alright... After this post, I am done talking about Kanye interrupting people. [Hopefully, anyway... We all know I hate the dude, but these pictures are just too funny!]

I've stumbled upon some more pictures of Kanye interrupting things and well... They're worth taking a glance at. You'll have a chuckle or two.

The Cho one is probably going to hit a lot of my readers the wrong way and uh... I'm just going to apologize now. Also- Who thought of the Rainbow Fish one?! That totally used to be my favorite book!!

Alright. I'm done. Finito. I've put a fork in the Kanye. Sayonara, sucker!

watch: etz video commercial from AK

I understand some areas and companies may not have the money to come up with an amazing advertising scheme or a WOW-ful commercial.... However... There should at least me some logic behind them all.

That's just not the case for ETZ Video in Alaska.

I just... I'm a little..... A little confused. What are they trying to say here in this commercial?! It totally aired in 2005 as a regular TV commercial!

I take back my former statement on not being able to create a WOW-ful commercial. That's about all I have to say at this point.

Just... Wow.

tunes on wednesday 092309

Woohoo! It's time for Tunes on Tuesday! [Even though it's Wednesday.. Woopsies.]

LOTS of upcoming songs to share today!

Kris Allen--> Live Like We're Dyin'

OMG! I LOVE it!!!!! I knew I was going to like his music, but I was a little worried that it would fall under the same category as Blake Lewis's-- Good, but not good enough to be a radio hit. Ummm... I could listen to this over and over again. It has the Jason Mraz/John Mayer feel I assumed it would, but better! Gah. Obsessed.

Whitney Houston--> Million Dollar Bill

She looks great, and she sounds the same as she always did! It even sounds like a classic Whitney song with a little upgrade. I'm pumped.

Jessie James--> I Look So Good [Without You]

I really like her. I love her sound, and she's totally hott! [So is the video!] I love everything about this song, and it's going to be huge. Mark my word.

Black Eyed Peas--> Meet Me Halfway

I hope you weren't ready for the Black Eyed Peas to fade away. They've taken over the charts all summer, and just as you might be getting sick of "I Gotta Feeling," they're releasing a new one. I really don't think it's an amazing song at all, but I didn't think so about the last one, either.

Leona Lewis--> Happy

Speaking of people who have songs you can't get off the radio.. She's baaaacckkkk. It's a bit slow. I don't really ever get into it because of that, but maybe it'll grow on me. I feel like it may be fun to sing once I know it.

The Ting Tings--> Great DJ

Yikes.. I just don't know about some of these songs. I really don't know about the Ting Tings in general but... Urgh. I know this is going to be played all types of crazy. Fabulous.

Young and Divine--> Shake That Bubble

This isn't terrible. I don't think I'll go around playing it a million times while I jam out, but you might.

Alexandra Burke ft. Flo-Rida-- Bad Boys

This song has a very soundtrack feel to me, but I really do like it. It may have something to do with Flo-Rida being involved, but what's it matter? It's a good song.

Amy Pearson-- Butterfingers

She's an Australian pop singer, and that's exactly what this song is. I do kinda like it. Some of the lyrics are things I feel a guy should say but.... Whatever floats your boat, woman.

Darin Jassy ft. David Jassy--> Pop That

I was really worried that this song would be called "Pop That" and not be a good dance song.. But I can TOTALLY get down to this! He's a SWEDISH pop singer! Hmmm.. Am I going to start going global with my choice of music!?

Jeremih--> Break Up to Make Up

Not a bad song at all! I'm not going OMG OMG LISTEN NOW, but it's definitely worth your time and a download.... And multiple listens.

Ester Dean ft. Chris Brown--> Drop it Low

I know a lot of you aren't supportive of Chris Brown but I am so excited to see him in a music video again! First of all- the song is hott. Second- he's still got it! [Not that he really has had anything else to do but practice.. but still.] I'm not sure how I feel about Miss Ester, but I enjoy this.

***Note: Because Country music is apparently crazy about their stuff getting out early, I can only give you links for these songs. Click and it'll play.]

Bomshel--> 19 and Crazy
Good stuff, for sure. I think these 2 girls could be somethin' special.

Big Kenny--> Long After I'm Gone
Hmm.. This is a pretty decent song... But uh... We can't have another Kenny in Country music, dude.... You're going to need a name change, sorry.

Jason Aldean--> The Truth
I enjoy Jason Aldean. I enjoy this song. Enough said.

That's going to wrap it up! Break out your downloading equipment!

i need to visit: the coolest pools in the world

Ya know how sometimes you go to someone's house and they have a really awesome pool and you get super jealous? Yeah, well... Tell them they're not cool until they have a pool like one of these.

They're the 10 most fascinating pools in the world, and it's now a life goal of mine to swim in every single one of them. [I really need to write down my life goals. This blog has given me at least 100...]

Global warming advertising pool [India]

Coolest infinity pool ever. [Taipa Island Macau]

Deepest indoor pool- Over 33 meters deep! [Belgium]

Playboy pool [Las Vegas]

Is it morbid of me to think this blood-red pool is pretty sweet?! [Chaweng Beach]

Hanging over the edge! Sweet! Imagine looking down through the bottom! [Dallas]

Largest indoor pool equipped with fake volcano and waves [Miyazaki]

"Devil's Pool"- 360 feet tall! [between Zambia and Zimbabwe]

Largest pool- over 20 acres big!! [Chile]

Most crowded wave pool! [Tokyo] I don't see how this could be fun, but it'd certainly be an experience. Especially because it's probably a ton of.. Mmmm... Gettin' it on, if you will.

So who's ready for a road trip?!?! LET'S GOOOO!

watch: real life tetris

YES! Another game brought to LIFE!

We've seen real-life Candyland, MarioKart, and Guitar Hero. Now-- TETRIS!

These skaters made light-up shapes and apparently closed down an entire street to film them making a Tetris game.

Okay so I'm not even going to say "I'm jealous of this" or "I'm fascinated" because it's a known fact. I just want to come up with the next game to be demonstrated like this. Hmmmm...

Dude. A real-life "Trouble" game would be so legit. If someone could come up with a way to make the dice-popper thing, it'd be the greatest ever. Or what if you could somehow play Poker or some card game with people being the cards? That'd be sweet, too! To shuffle, they would just run around! WOOHOO who wants to try?!

Now I shall wait impatiently for the next installment of real-life gaming.

two of my fave things in one: redskins and monkeys

Oh this makes me so excited!

I wanted to do a Redskins/football post, and I found the perfect thing to share with you. Why is it perfect? Because it combines two of my most favorite things into one post.

One of our players recently got a pet MONKEY! On first thought you may assume Chris Cooley or Clinton Portis may get such a pet, but you're wrong!

LaRon Landry, the safety who used to run the show with Sean Taylor [RIP] and now rocks people on his own, apparently has a soft spot.

He got this white-faced capuchin to be his companion, until death do they part. His reasoning:

Just a thought over the offseason. I didn't want nothin' too big. He'll get up to fifteen pounds, live 35 to 50 years. When I die, he can die with me.

First of all- I'm hella jealous. I want one right now. Second- Landry... Can we get married right now?

His teammates all think he's crazy, of course. They also thought he was joking for a while. Kareem Moore, Jason Campbell, and Carlos Rogers are just some of the players thinking it was all a joke.

Our main man Cooley admitted it'd be cool for a week, but then not so much.

Landry apparently loves the little guy, though. His friends brought the monkey to him after practice and it went crazy "cheeping" for him. He also admitted that yes, he does have to change the diapers for at least a year.

I love it. I absolutely love it. Here's a guy who's a hard hitter and I thought of as a tough guy, with a baby monkey. He's not looking for a crazy amount of attention for it, he just wanted a companion.

Seriously though... LaRon... Umm.. If we can't work out a marriage... How about a play date? Or maybe you could hire me to be a babysitter? I'll even do it for free.
Consider it... Let me know. Thanks.

elizabethany
