throwback thursday: how lizzie mcguire inspired our lives

Lizzie McGuire was on from 2001-2004, and if you watched it... her fashion and live inspired everything you did.

I was in high school while it was airing [which may or may not be weird to get inspired by Disney in high school], and would sometimes wake up an extra hour early just to do a combination crimp and curl like her.

If only I had a picture of me with that 'do.... I swear I did it all the time as a sophomore or junior. Oh dear.

Since it's throwback Thursday, I figured we might as well take a look back at the AMAZING fashions from our BFFs Lizzie and Miranda.

Bandanas: a must-have in every fabric, color, and design.

Also mandatory: Cornrolls/cornrows whatever the eff they are.

Don't wanna do either of those? Fine... grab a Kangol or bucket hat.

OR just get some colored ponytail extensions.

If you don't have a muscle shirt [preferably with the slit or bedazzling] you're nothing.

Butterflies, flares, and showing belts will also get you in with the crew.

Look how ahead of the times she was! We're even wearing jean jackets and patterned pants nowadays!

Matching headbands and chokers are also necessary in bulk.

I guess we can also blame her for smiling with our mouth wide open...

And for all the guys who are mad they get stuck in the friend-zone... blame Gordo.

If I had all my high school pictures here, I'd totally reflect back on all of these... but this is all I've got right now.

That hair and the high-necked shirt and choker... and the hat with the belt on display... [I thought I was cute setting up a sheet and taking pictures of myself like that.. which isn't too far off from nowadays so I should shut up.]

What a fantastic show... but we really should have known that Disney fashion is RARELY something to mimic.

throwback halloween: 12 costumes I've worn

We won't have a Halloween on TBT for a longgg time, so it only makes sense I share these NOW! Many costumes throughout my years... but I so wish I had more pictures in my possession.

PS... remember... it's not nice to make fun of someone's weight adjustments.

100% homemade Jasmine costume in 1994!

Pink Ladies in 1999!

And this says 1994, but it was really like 2002... Britney Spears, duh!

The one time I bought a "slutty" costume... a racergirl... in 2006.

2007: All homemade Tinkerbell!

Also 2007: Superman... because I really liked "Superman'ing that hoe." Seriously.

2008: Snow White! Because there were 7 of my BFF's who lived together and wanted to be the dwarfs.

Also 2008: WVU football player! Because I stole some legit game pants from a friend.

2009: Sherlock Holmes, because I was really enjoying stalking the Real World DC cast.

2010: Twitter Bird, because of the MTV T[witter] J[ockey] competition!

2011: Troll! Because I Love The 90s... even though they clearly didn't only exist in the 90s.

2012: Blue meth, because Breaking Bad was my drug, duh.

And this year, I'm Uncle Sam! Once I get better pictures this weekend, I'll post them!

After looking at these I noticed one thing: I was only something slutty when I shouldn't have been- when I was way too young and way too large. Ya live and ya learn.....

Don't forget to tag me in pics of your costume so I can post em!

on the racks: christina aguilera does maxim

If you told me Xtina was posing in Maxim a year ago, I would have cringed a little and said something along the lines of "we see more than enough of her on "The Voice." But now, she's looking damn good.

Welcome her to the cover of the October issue.

She's showing off what looks good and hiding her "trouble spots," as every woman should learn how to do... even though I think she has very few trouble spots these days.

Seriously, I love this! She's not the skinny little girl she used to be, but her body's gorgeous! She's a woman now, not a teen pop princess.

Also love: Her quote about being sexy.
"I'm such a down-to-earth girl, I'm comfortable in just a jersey and boy's underwear. Trying too hard to be sexy is the worst thing you can do. Sexiness should be effortless."

And when they asked her about Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling back in the day:
"They were both very charismatic, but I think I have to shy away from the question. I don't want this to bite me in the butt later. They were tight, you know. They'd walk around together all the time, same as me and Britney [Spears] would. Now look at us. It's funny how that played out."

Are you saying you guys still can't be friends, Xtina?! Come onnn.......

There's plenty more sexy and fun in the article, out in a week or so.

PS If you haven't heard her latest song, you should. I'm kinda in love with it.

watch: aaron paul's breaking bad audition

ALRIGHT FINE! I'll admit it! I have a slightly unhealthy crush on Aaron Paul and I like to imagine us doi.... errr... I like to stalk him.

Once upon a time in 2008 when I probably had no idea who he was, he auditioned for the show that would make you believe he was a crazy drug dealer in real life. This is that tape.

Thank goodness they cut his hair but like... they all obviously fell in love with him right away, too! Those are pure-love giggles in the background.

Also if you haven't seen him on The Price Is Right, you obviously need to do that too.

And ya know what else we need to always admire? The pictures of his wedding. Dude is so in love, it makes me want that kinda relationship SO BAD. [Mostly with him.]

Ooh look, he loves me too!

Alright, I'll stop now. We had to celebrate his birthday!

what more of your childhood toys are worth now

Done a lot of these "what are they worth" posts lately, but get ready for more head-hitting prices.

THIS GAME WAS SO CRAZY! I mean, I really don't remember how to play, but I know it was fun.

Oh, just some skateboards that you ride with your fingers... Now worth the triple digits.

Easiest, most simple game ever, but ya never know what those collectors like.

The original Super Soaker. It would never win in a fight with the new things they've come up with, but people are offering some dough.

K'nex Rolle Coasters. The people who buy this for nearly $1,000 must think they're gonna get to ride it.

No one's got street cred like the Street Sharks... obviously worth a lot now since their appearance in Sharknado.

Fisher Price castle, complete with a canon and a hideaway tower.

I mean, these were pretty damn special... so now they're going for $1100.

The smallest doll in all the land, now with a hefty bill.

The original Game Boy best come with some games if I'm going to be paying that kinda money.

Of course these things can't be considered "worth" all this money unless someone's going to pay that much for them, right? Unless we're playing by "Storage Wars" rules because you never see someone actually buy any of the stuff they find and price out.

Either way... it's time to start hoarding so I can be rich in twenty years... Cuz I know we had at least six of those things that my mom probably threw out three years ago.

watch: what did we do before the internet?

But seriously, y'all... Before the internet, before cell phones... how did ANYONE have a social life?! I'm baffled. I can't figure it out. This video is asking all the questions, and reminding us of how life was... if we can even pretend to remember how it was.

Yeah, I just don't know about that life.

the cost of nsync's memorabilia today

Posts like these are going to make us all become hoarders. You never know how much something is going to be worth in ten or twenty years, so we should obviously hold on to it all.

Today, we see how much NSYNC fandom can be purchased for.

You KNOW these hats were the bomb diggity... but everyone knows they're not cool anymore. They're only worth $39. [Okay, way more expensive than it should be.]

Why didn't I have these Barbies?! Now they're gonna cost me $40.

This is just a tshirt with a picture of the hotties... for $75.

But these t-shirts were for crew only... until now... if you have $99.

An NSYNC afghan?! Y'all.... we need this forever. $99 is so worth it.

An AUTOGRAPHED album! For a steep $375.

OMG A SHIRT THAT TOUCHED THE SKIN OF JC CHASEZ! $475, yo.

These are mostly creepy, but they're life-size face molds to make the masks in the "It's Gonna Be Me" video." And now they're worth $995.

I need to start bringing relevant pieces to get signed by artists... because this here magazine cover is going for 1700 freaking dollars.

I don't know if I'm upset cuz I could be rich if I owned these things and sold them, or if I just really want them in my possession. Either way... *sigh.* I miss you, boys.
