tbt: 10 ways to wear overalls in 2014

For the longest time, I always said overalls were the one fashion from the 90s that should not come back... but I think I'm about to eat my words.

After Little Mix [UK pop group] came in to the studio last weekend and one of them was wearing overalls, I decided to browse Pinterest for some other ideas.

They were sweatpants-overalls, and still, somehow, looked sexy! It was baffling.

Here are some other good outfits I found. [Click the pic for the source]

Simple. rolled cuffs, heeled booties, and a tee.

LEATHER overalls add a bit of sexy, especially with those heels and crop top.

Not sure how I feel about all the floral, but I think the stripes go really well and might actually make it all work.

All plain and simple until you get to the hott heels!

Statement accessories and a striped shirt might be the perfect way to do it.

All white is super trendy for Spring... I'm undecided on this look, but it might be proof that the body/person they're on matters.

Not many people have the swagger of this chic to pull this off, but she's working them enough for me to share it.

Crop top of some sort with statement jewelry and a bright pop of color somewhere... Yes.

I think the main rules to follow if you are gonna go with some overalls:

  1. Keep them fitted. Don't go super baggy like in the 90s.
  2. Wear heels or at least some girly, stand-out shoes.
  3. Give them a touch of sexy in any way... crop top being the easiest.
And make sure they don't look like an apron or like you're actually going to work on a farm... I don't know... I still can't say 100% that it's a good thing to try. There were far more outfit examples on Pinterest that I DIDN'T like, but I still think they're worth a try on if you see them in the store.

Your thoughts?

throwback thursday: how lizzie mcguire inspired our lives

Lizzie McGuire was on from 2001-2004, and if you watched it... her fashion and live inspired everything you did.

I was in high school while it was airing [which may or may not be weird to get inspired by Disney in high school], and would sometimes wake up an extra hour early just to do a combination crimp and curl like her.

If only I had a picture of me with that 'do.... I swear I did it all the time as a sophomore or junior. Oh dear.

Since it's throwback Thursday, I figured we might as well take a look back at the AMAZING fashions from our BFFs Lizzie and Miranda.

Bandanas: a must-have in every fabric, color, and design.

Also mandatory: Cornrolls/cornrows whatever the eff they are.

Don't wanna do either of those? Fine... grab a Kangol or bucket hat.

OR just get some colored ponytail extensions.

If you don't have a muscle shirt [preferably with the slit or bedazzling] you're nothing.

Butterflies, flares, and showing belts will also get you in with the crew.

Look how ahead of the times she was! We're even wearing jean jackets and patterned pants nowadays!

Matching headbands and chokers are also necessary in bulk.

I guess we can also blame her for smiling with our mouth wide open...

And for all the guys who are mad they get stuck in the friend-zone... blame Gordo.

If I had all my high school pictures here, I'd totally reflect back on all of these... but this is all I've got right now.

That hair and the high-necked shirt and choker... and the hat with the belt on display... [I thought I was cute setting up a sheet and taking pictures of myself like that.. which isn't too far off from nowadays so I should shut up.]

What a fantastic show... but we really should have known that Disney fashion is RARELY something to mimic.

throwback halloween: 12 costumes I've worn

We won't have a Halloween on TBT for a longgg time, so it only makes sense I share these NOW! Many costumes throughout my years... but I so wish I had more pictures in my possession.

PS... remember... it's not nice to make fun of someone's weight adjustments.

100% homemade Jasmine costume in 1994!

Pink Ladies in 1999!

And this says 1994, but it was really like 2002... Britney Spears, duh!

The one time I bought a "slutty" costume... a racergirl... in 2006.

2007: All homemade Tinkerbell!

Also 2007: Superman... because I really liked "Superman'ing that hoe." Seriously.

2008: Snow White! Because there were 7 of my BFF's who lived together and wanted to be the dwarfs.

Also 2008: WVU football player! Because I stole some legit game pants from a friend.

2009: Sherlock Holmes, because I was really enjoying stalking the Real World DC cast.

2010: Twitter Bird, because of the MTV T[witter] J[ockey] competition!

2011: Troll! Because I Love The 90s... even though they clearly didn't only exist in the 90s.

2012: Blue meth, because Breaking Bad was my drug, duh.

And this year, I'm Uncle Sam! Once I get better pictures this weekend, I'll post them!

After looking at these I noticed one thing: I was only something slutty when I shouldn't have been- when I was way too young and way too large. Ya live and ya learn.....

Don't forget to tag me in pics of your costume so I can post em!

throwback thursday mix 101013

I know, I know... TBT was like... SOOO yesterday. Shut up and just enjoy this mix that everyone has been raving about for over 24 hours.

It's got some Nelly, Britney, Run DMC, MJ, Beatie Boys, Vanilla Ice, and a bunch more!

If that [and all the others] isn't your soundtrack for the weekend, you're dumb. And a lame partier.

download: throwback thursday mix 081513

Seems like a LOT of people were really pumped about this last week [as they should be!], so I'm here to let ya know you've got another new goodie to download! [FYI it's a mix of really fantastic 90s and early 00s songs.]

Have it for a road trip, a work out, or even get someone to play it at a bar/your place of work like some people did last week! All Corey asks: Let him know where it's playing and who's loving it so he can feel like he's cool.

introducing the throwback thursday mix for your downloadable pleasure

For two years, I've been trying to convince my boss [with Corey's help] that our generation loves the 90s and loves hearing old school music that they haven't heard in a while. While I don't think he's believing us yet, at least he's letting us give you some goodness!

Today Corey debuted the #TBTMix, which happens on our station every Thursday morning at 8am. Ya know the Weekend Roll-outs and the Monday Mojo I used to have? It's like that, but better.. cuz it's all 90s and done by Corey. [Who somehow has DJ rhythm even though he's a ginger.]

Take a listen, get a free download, and tweet him to let him know how much you love it and what you want to hear next week!
