elizabethanytv: another dance dare attempt for the ellen show

Ellen is doing another Dance Dare challenge and just like everything else she asks people to do, I'm jumping in to try and make dreams come true!

It didn't work last time, but they're doing it differently now. You upload a video to her ellentube site and they approve it to go public, then you get views, and... well, I actually have no idea how it eventually gets picked for the show.

In order to switch it up a bit, I had Nico and Vinz who were visiting to help me out around the office! They're the most chill guys, and even their dancing is chill... but we definitely got caught a couple of awkward times.

And for double the chances, I re-uploaded my original video. [Sorry if these auto-play.]

Now I shall watch every day as usual hoping my Christmas wish comes true. C'mon Ellen. Don't let me down. I'm starting to wonder if we're actually the best friends I thought we were.

video: playing "heads up" with mkto

MKTO has now hung out with me/my stations three times, and I had to switch things up again. I had some dares I really wanted to do, but since we already did the stilts thing, I figured we'd play a little of Ellen's "Heads Up" app.

I downloaded the 90s deck because of their "Classic" references, and figured I'd rock it.... I was wrong.

*sigh* I'm so embarrassed by how terrible I was! And that I got too excited to remember to save Tony's video on my phone because his "Thighmasters" face was unbelievable.

Also.. I've always thought they were talented, but seriously- how great is Tony's voice?! I wish we had the entire performance posted to show you, but hopefully soon. Props to them for making sure every one of their fans in our studio had tickets to the show, too.

most desirable men's winter fashion

I got a message from Aaron on Facebook asking if I could put together a post with examples of guy's fashion that I/other betches like me might enjoy.

Thing is... as simple as it could be for guys to get dressed every day, there really are a lot of different styles/trends that look different on everyone... so you have to go with what's you. Also... I'm still nowhere near being a fashion guru. I'm still struggling to figure out my own way through that world, let alone give tips for dudes... but here we are.

I will say that the absolute most important thing, no matter what a guy is wearing, is the way it fits. There is absolutely nothing sexier than a man in a good pair of jeans [or pants in general]. Oh, and a good walk.... there's something about a good, confident walk...

I looked to my BFF Pinterest to come up with some examples of outfits/looks that did something to me..

I'm still not sure how I feel about the rolled jeans trend... but sometimes they work. With this outfit, I'm mostly liking the shoes and shirt and the ease of it all.

Pretty sure I would immediately hump someone wearing this. It's good and casual but seems like there's some effort involved.

Again, I'm not sure all guys can pull off a cardigan... but if you make it look laid back and not too prepster, I'm into it.

I just started noticing this style of sweater. It's almost like a modern turtleneck, right? Well, probably not... but it's a good thing to pick up if you see one on clearance these days [cuz the seasons are changing, fellas... so sales are everywhere!]

I enjoy the mix of patterns/fabric of these if you're getting a little more fancy. Especially that tie/jacket up there... and paisley ties.. yes please!

This is my BFF DanChiz. He rocks the rolled jeans, but especially the sweaters. Also... he knows his ties and has a lot of giveaways of all kinds on his blog.

Also... tWitch, who has been Ellen's "guest DJ" quite a bit this season and was on SYTYCD and had the most adorable wedding ever, has a really laid back but fun style that I always enjoy. [Unless it's the overall personality/gyration that I'm constantly enjoying... hard to say.] She has a whole board dedicated to her DJ's style!

Fashion is always about your personality, but this is just some examples of what my personality would be attracted to... and I think a solid amount of girls would agree with me. Just make sure it fits you... your body and who you are.

seriously i'm kidding: how calling people is like batman

The last little excerpt from Ellen Degeneres' book was all about Twitter vs the crazy people of the 90s... well today's bit is the next thing she had to say. This time, calling someone is just like the Bat-signal in the sky.

I really enjoy calling people, but I rarely do anymore. And my "recent" call log mostly looks like that of a lame loser. BUT... if there's anyone who knows how true her writing is, it's me. No matter what I call my mom about, even if I tell her good news, she'll always ask me what's wrong at least five times.

Mom, I swear, nothing's wrong. For the crazillionth time.

what ellen says about social media in the 90s

Time for another excerpt from Ellen's "Seriously... I'm Kidding!" I hope you're enjoying these as much as I am. A couple people have asked what book I'm reading cuz it looks really good. Um... it's "SERIOUSLY... I'M KIDDING." Wait. Maybe I should underline it so it's officially a book title. I'm reading Seriously... I'm Kidding, by Ellen Degeneres. Is that more clear? :)

Anyway! It's obvious this was an immediate "MUST SHARE" selection, considering she talks about two of my favorite things: The 90s and social media.

Maybe the reason I like her so much is because the "crazy" things I do/have done seem completely normal and acceptable when she talks about it. Or just because she's so damn GOOD at pointing things out.

And yeah, I do kinda want some tequila right now. Just because Ellen told me I do.

watch: crazy little girl talks about the tooth fairy

The latest awesome kid to stop by the Ellen Show: Maggie Elizabeth Jones. She's 8 years old, writing questionnaires for the Tooth Fairy [that get answered], doing the boogie dance, and has a serious 'tude.

[FYI, the intense tude comes in towards the end, after the Tooth Fairy talk...]

I just seriously love kids that have the attitude of an adult. I'm sure they're the biggest handful of all, but how hilarious is this girl?! I can't even deal.

Note to self: Start interviewing kids. They're funnier than you think...... maybe.

from "seriously... i'm kidding": what ellen says about stereotypes and musicals

The latest excerpt from Ellen's "Seriously... I'm Kidding" book is one of my top 3 from the book. It totally made me LOL just thinking about what she says actually happening.

Everything captured is worth reading, but the best is highlighted.

I just love that she's able to be so sarcastic but so sincere about real issues. She's making the world laugh while still talking about the serious stuff every day. [Maybe stereotypes aren't super serious, but she covers a lot of stuff throughout the book.] I envy her for that.

an awesome passage from ellen's book "seriously, i'm kidding"

I don't read many books. In fact, as of today, I've only read three from cover to cover- A Walk To Remember, Chelsea Handler's "My Horizontal Life," and now Ellen's "Seriously... I'm Kidding."

Chelsea's and Ellen's books are both hysterical, and when I read them, I highlighted my favorite lines... now I want to start sharing some of Ellen's. Sometimes they're just straight up funny, and sometimes they're inspirational or about life, but still humorous.

I think this one is perfect to kick off this new thing I will be doing:

It's awesome advice, and maybe even more awesome because in the business I'm in, I'm constantly listening to other people to get ideas and inspiration... but I need to remember that I should never do exactly what someone else is doing if I wanna make it. Really, that goes for any profession. If you want that promotion, you're not going to get noticed by doing what someone else is doing, even if they are "better." Find a different way to do it and maybe that way will be even better than their's.

Okay, I'll shut up now because nothing I say will be as awesome as what Ellen just did.

I totally just did exactly what I said not to do, didn't I? Hmph.

watch: jamar rogers on ellen will make you smile big

Jamar Rogers [from the Voice, duh] was on Ellen last week and I couldn't find the video right away, but now I finally have! If you need a smile right now, this will absolutely put one on your face.

He's just so excited to be there, so thankful for his life, and I just love his being in general. Please, watch this.

SERIOUSLY. Could he get any more adorable and awesome?! I just love him, and I really hope he makes a huge career before it's too late. Even from his short lived Idol days, I've been hoping to come across one of his songs in the "radio ready" list of singles.

Follow him on Twitter, cuz he's just as genuinely happy there... all the time.

this ellen show workout makes working out at home worth it

I promised myself I'd get my ass back in the gym this week... and then I didn't feel like driving the 25 minutes to get there. Instead, I decided to catch up on some Ellen while working out in my living room.

Normally I feel like it's pointless to do this because I never get a GOOD workout in my house... but now that belief has changed.

In order to challenge myself, I decided to make a workout that goes along with the show. Each segment I do something different, and I'm not allowed to stop until that segment is done. It's nice because I get to watch the show, and I don't have to worry about focusing on counting [or the burn I'm feeling].

I did the workout on Monday and Tuesday, and hott damn I am a sore girl today. Walking down the stairs is certainly a challenge and probably looks like I have something shoved up my hole.

So... it totally works, and if you're an Ellen watcher like me, here's the workout you should do every day when you watch:

Of course, you can switch up the actual exercises.. I normally do. The ones I put in the graphic are just a basic guide for people who need some ideas.

Also, I did the workout while watching the shows on DVR, so it was more of a constant workout. If you're watching it live, use the commercial times wisely by stretching or doing something like calf raises.

And don't you worry about looking silly while dancing when you need a breather. Ellen frowns upon you worrying about such things.

Have fun!

watch: the local morning news shared my ellen's dance dare video!

AH! Could I be one step closer?! This morning I got a tweet from Blaine Stewart, one of the anchors at News Channel 3 here in Hampton Roads [which just HAPPENS to be the same channel Ellen is on in the afternoons!], and he told me they'd be showing my video live on the morning show!

Here's what they played: First, the teaser, then the story-

HAHAHA, not going to lie, I'm not surprised people are commenting on my gyration and humping [someone on their FB page really didn't like it], and I wouldn't be surprised if that has something to do with Ellen not showing it, but hey- I was doing the white girl! Plus, when you're in the moment and have no music but the crazy, no-sense-making beats in your head, regular dance moves don't even seem right, nor fun.

I gotta thank Blaine and that whole team for sharing it! Hopefully it'll get some more local views. I'm still very low on them compared to others [I can't figure out why! :(], so feel free to watch it a bunch more times! I hate being obnoxious.

watch: my submission for ellen's dance dare challenge could get me on the show!

YOU. GUYS. My dreams could start to come true this week. Ellen announced that she wanted us to complete a "dare" of dancing behind people that aren't aware of the situation. UMMM... IT'S LIKE SHE MADE IT FOR ME!!!

So, unfortunately it took me two days to be able to get out and film a good version, but I did it! Poor people in the mall having no idea they'll be on TV if I get my way with them.

I totally need your help in catching up with everyone else who has posted [pretty lame] videos! Watch it, share it, and keep your fingers crossed! If she shows it on hr show, not only will I go freaking nuts, but I'll also get $100! If she picks mine as her favorite, I GO TO THE FREAKING SHOW.

Holy hott damn bajoley s;fiskldfj;saldfkajerogifsjd!!!!!!!!!

Please? :)

watch: lil p-nut returns to ellen and hilariously dumped his girlfriend

Oh. Em. GEE! Remember 7 year old rapper Lil P-Nut?! He acted like a little grown-up tellin' kids to stay in school if they want their dreams to come true on Ellen, and then he got an Escalade of his own from her.

Well now, he's freaking starring in Happy Feet Two! Amazing! And that means another trip to the Ellen Show.

He is so. freaking. funny. I've been having a really rough couple days [any hilarity that you wanna send me, I'll definitely take it, duh!] and he made me LOL more than anyone else. And that's not even the full interview! I wish Ellen posted all of it. Her reaction to some things he said were fabulous.

I think I might have to see that movie in theaters for the simple fact that he's in it. Who's comin with me?!

nifty website: check out all the celebs' houses

Be prepared to waste entirely too much time looking at things that A) are relatively pointless and B) will probably make you a little mad or jealous.

This website, Celebrity House Pictures, knows exactly where all the big celebs live and is letting you know too. Not only will you know, but they make it easy to look down on their house and check it out.

I looked at some of my faves, some of the most extravagant, but mostly the relevant and local celebs. Here are just a few:

I want to hurt someone because of Dan Snyder's huge house. Can't he just share a little more?! Goodness.
Of course Willie Nelson is secluded amongst the trees.
Pharrell has a nicer house in Virginia Beach than Missy... I think something's wrong there, but that's just my personal opinion. And DAMN, I need to be his friend.
Also- Jazzy Jeff lives right down the road from my friend and that's pretty damn awesome. I think I should schedule a visit soon.

Stalking just became SO. MUCH. EASIER.

watch: ellen practices with the new orleans saints

JUST when I thought I might beat Ellen at something, she won... again.

On her show today she practiced with the New Orleans Saints. She kicked, threw, and even tackled. I think the very beginning and her outfit are the best parts, though.

Damnit she's great. I'm crying in laughter right now!

And if you wanna know what I mean by "I thought I might beat Ellen," stay tuned. Video coming soon. It's good to be back in Redskins Country.

watch: ellen scares people with a mariachi band

Ellen loves to scare people. People love to watch her scare people. And at this point, I think people love to be scared by her.

This time, to celebrate "Sneako de Scareo," she grabbed some friends- a mariachi band!

SO glad that P$ showed this to me in the office today. The internet has been hella boring, and I won't get to watch today's Ellen until this weekend, and this is SO GOOD, as always!

orlando bloom is cuter than ever as a baby daddy

I'm not going to lie... I never understood the fascination with Orlando Bloom. He wore eyeliner, looked dirty most of the time, and didn't seem to show too much personality.

Leave it to Ellen to change that for me. She had him on the show on Friday and he was glowing. He's a new baby daddy and obviously very proud of the little guy.

I couldn't help but fall in love with him and realize that him and Miranda Kerr are obviously the best looking couple out there right now.

And then Ellen showed us pictures of him when he was a little tike.

Oh. Em. Gee. SO freakin' precious!

Here's the interview, if you're interested:

You won me over, Orlando. Hi. :)

watch: ellen gives tyler perry a new character

I kind of love Tyler Perry. Ever since my life coach BFF told me to sit down and watch all of the movies, I've become slightly obsessed with them.

He joined Ellen for the first time [which should be a crime! WHY has he not been on before?!] yesterday to talk about his hard times growing up and his advice for everyone.
"If people are telling you what you're not or what you can't be... You can be whatever you want to be, even if it's your mother or father telling you that."

The best part of the entire interview is the end, though.. Hands down. Ellen introduces her character for the family, and it will have you in tears.

PLEASE, Tyler Perry PLEASE!!! Let Ellen be what she wants to be and put her in one of your movies! Dear sweet baby Jesus I wouldn't be able to handle all the laughing.. IN A GOOD WAY!

carrie underwood was barbie perfection on ellen

Carrie Underwood was on Ellen last week and I know I say this all the time, but it's about time we got some proof that she looks like a Barbie.

As soon as she came out, she had a blue, shiny dress that screamed Barbie. It fit her perfectly, and her body looked flawless.

In case you were wondering, it didn't take me long to find her Barbie lookalike.

She. Is. Gorgeous! I can't wait to see what fame does for Pia Toscano because I don't think she's PERFECT now, but I didn't think Carrie was back then, either.

Anyway, she talked about married life, her dogs, and Soul Surfer, her first movie! But most importantly, she admitted that her hubby is a hoarder.

Can I just be her now? Please? Hott husband, awesome life, awesome look... Hmph.

PS: For those of you who say I'm jealous of all the people I hate on, I think this is proof that the people I'm jealous of are the people I want to be... and I'll tell you straight up.

watch: another girl at the dentist, this time sees ellen

The girl who talked about unicorns after getting her teeth pulled is so last year. [Or has it been two years at this point?] Now there's this girl who goes on for 15 minutes or more and somehow keeps it entertaining.

The best part: She SWEARS Ellen Degeneres is in her room.

She also really needs a tic tac, and has a machine on her foot.

OF COURSE Ellen found the video and brought her on the show. Here are highlights of the video, and her interview:

I need to get my wisdom teeth pulled soon, and I am SO not looking forward to it, but if there's one thing that makes it all better, it's the hope that I can produce something this great. Hopefully someone will volunteer to spend some ridcutarded [I made that word up last week] time with me.

If you wanna see the entire video, here ya go-
