join in on the september instagram challenge!

By now you should know that I head the Instagram challenges we do with the station every three months... but if you didn't, now you do!

Because I'm all about them, I'd love for you to be too! Each day, post a picture or video with the inspiration given! It's okay if you've started another one or skip a couple days, as long as you do as many as you can! It's super fun to see all the pictures and into your lives! [It's the stalker in me and I'm NOT sorry about it.]

Here's what we're posting this month:

When you post your pics, just make sure to include the #HOTPicADay hashtag so we can see it! [AND, if you have a private account, be sure to tag me so that I can follow you and see it!] Each day we pick four great ones to post on the station's Facebook! ...no pressure.

my june 2013 on instagram

Hopefully you're aware we did another photo challenge on Instagram with the station, and hopefully you got to participate, at least a little! [Ya see... I'm in charge of them... so even if you're not in Hampton Roads, it's still awesome to have you join in on the fun!]

I get really pumped to do these for a number of reasons, even though I have to come up with two pictures each day, which isn't always easy. Now, looking back, I realize I took a serious amount of pictures and that I had a pretty great month.

- I got to go to a Darius Rucker concert ON the beach

-We got some pretty sweet red cups with our logo on them

-I got a Diamond Candle for my birthday, which is like.. the new greatest gift idea!

-We made a really silly video for Fiasco

-There was a night full of intense storms that ruined my show for a couple hours

-I had unlimited delicious desserts for my birthday

-I tried the rubberband photography, and tried to get others into it, too. 

-We had the HOT Summer Fiasco, and a ton of screaming people looking at us, which is always neat.

But still... the absolute best part about doing these is seeing everyone else's pictures and what their creativity can come up with.

We're going to do these every three months, which gives one per season!, so get ready to join in come September!

let's do this june instagram challenge!

It's time for another #HOTPicADay photo challenge with my station and me! [I made it, so it's for every one of my friends, not just listeners!]

Save this picture, repost it on your own Instagram or whatever, and use each day's word/label/whatever as inspiration for a picture to post. If you jump in late- it's okay! If you miss a couple, that's fine! Just jump back in!

The one we did in March was so fun! I woke up every morning pumped to see everyone's pictures, and everyone who regularly participated told me they gained a ton of followers from it!

Plus, it's easy. And it gives you something to do. And it's my birthday month so like... you have to... right?

Can't wait to see your pictures tomorrow!

This. Is. Perfect.

It's combination instagram hate and Nickelback hate, in one of the best parodies I've seen in a while [like at least a couple weeks or months]!

If you're a typical instagram'er, I recommend not watching it. You'll get real mad.

No but seriously.... those lyrics are just perfection. And now I won't be taking any instagram pics for at least a day.

what ellen says about social media in the 90s

Time for another excerpt from Ellen's "Seriously... I'm Kidding!" I hope you're enjoying these as much as I am. A couple people have asked what book I'm reading cuz it looks really good. Um... it's "SERIOUSLY... I'M KIDDING." Wait. Maybe I should underline it so it's officially a book title. I'm reading Seriously... I'm Kidding, by Ellen Degeneres. Is that more clear? :)

Anyway! It's obvious this was an immediate "MUST SHARE" selection, considering she talks about two of my favorite things: The 90s and social media.

Maybe the reason I like her so much is because the "crazy" things I do/have done seem completely normal and acceptable when she talks about it. Or just because she's so damn GOOD at pointing things out.

And yeah, I do kinda want some tequila right now. Just because Ellen told me I do.

if the most popular logos were honest...

Viktor Hertz is a guy that obviously just likes to show the truth behind every company/business/product and their logos.

So, he took it upon himself to give some of them a quick alteration, and they're now representing the truth.

My faves are obviously the ciggies and social media ones. Let's be real- he nailed most of them. Shoot, the alcohol ones are perfection too. I CAN'T PICK A FAVORITE!

Tweet Poor Tom. He just can't catch a break from the failure that MySpace became after Facebook stepped on the scene.

Now someone is making this about the movie that he's probably trying his damnedest to get.

watch: when sex meets foursquare

watch: social media is god

This isn't anything funny or outrageous or what I'd normally make a whole post about, but it's pretty interesting... And considering the fact I'm going after a job that makes me the face of a huge company and the personality for their social media, it's a must post.

Pretty crazy. We're taking part in a revolution and didn't even know it. Kids will be reading about Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc in their history books! NUTS.
