the extreme bullying tweets i got today

If you don't follow me on Twitter or if you were somehow able to miss all of the tweets, you should know I was straight up attacked ALL DAMN DAY.

Why? Because when one of the Emblem3 dudes said his #1 wish was to end suffering, I said "Okay Miss America." Ya know, a joke. Those things I'm normally not so good or quick with.

Three words sparked all of these tweets/posts, and a ton more I've heard about on tumblr, Instagram, etc that I don't care to find.

I don't even need to go into the irony/hypocrisy of their words and actions... you're my friend, you get it. I also shouldn't have to explain that I never go into an interview with the purpose of insulting someone.

I'm not posting these for people to feel bad for me or to think my day was awful, because that's not true at all. I'm lucky to have figured out a way to deal with people saying mean things my whole life, and now it mostly entertains me. This morning was hysterical.

When I realized that this is what other people have to go through, though.... it started to bother me. Not everyone is as fortunate to be able to have thick skin and brush it off. I've always said kids need to just toughen up and deal with it like we all did.. but now I realize bullying is on a whole different level than it ever used to be for us.

These kids are hiding behind computer screens, reading what other mean people are saying, and just multiplying it! They probably have parents who have no idea how awful their child is, and might not even care. They're telling complete strangers to kill themselves, not knowing how serious that person might take it. It's scary.

So as I said on air tonight: Live your life so that you'll be proud of yourself in five or ten years. If you're being really mean to real people, that's not cool, bro.

halloween on the internet 2012

This tradition started a couple years ago after my camera got stolen during Halloween weekend... now I look forward to it every year!

You've already seen my Breaking Bad/crystal meth costume, so now I asked you to send me your costume pics, and I scoured my timelines on Twitter, Facebook, and instagram, and found my favorite costumes. The ones that I hadn't seen before. The ones that took a little more thought or effort than others. And the ones that were just straight up good.

Is this not the BEST Fresh Prince duo you've ever seen?!

Assuming they're rednecks, the Marlboro jacket is just a win.

A boat! They build a BOAT to push their kid in!

Mario Kart... WITH the balloons! So good.

My friend Annette is the awesome Statue of Liberty, but I'm also giving props to the crazy cat lady. Apparently it was zipper face who won the contest. Womp.

I've seen people be the Cheshire Cat before, but not like this! It's great and cute!

Definitely never seen a better Hey Arnold before.

Flappers are also done often, but this looks beyond legit!

Some random Portland'ers dressed up as the Real World production crew, and nailed it.

A group from the 1920s- Cool. The dude with the fur jacket- Awesome. "McKayla unimpressed"- YES! [I'm REALLY surprised I didn't see more of those, actually.]

Brooke just chopchopped her hair, and she rocked it with the biker babe look.

Just GREAT.

This is HOMEMADE!!! Head and all. So awesome.

Grown men as Care Bears: I love it! AND the balloons and heart noses! They won $2000 for this gem of a group costume.

The Queen Chess piece! She's workin' it!

Bert and Mary Poppins! Adorbs.

The perfect pose makes them look SO good!

Here are some that I saw in person while out and about:

I thought she was "blind date," which woulda been awesome! Then I saw the dildo. She was 50 Shades of Grey. Merp.

The fact they made this pose for every picture is why they're on here.

Also surprised I didn't see more Psy's, but I'm giving props to my friend Chase for his straight up bizarre/creepy costume...

....complete with these platforms.

Just a great MC Hammer who did a solo dance when his song was played.

Female Snooki. For some reason, I'm not mad about it.

Way to be current, Felix.

His face was SO creepy/real in person. Impressive.

This girl beat me in a costume contest, but I won't lie... I cheered for her. She was so glowy and lit up! Loved.

And some that were questionable: [protecting their identities... just in case.....]

Apparently if you wanna be the Joker or Riddler or whatever the ?s mean, you just need some white lingerie and a cane.

And we tried to take bets on what this girl was, but literally couldn't figure it out. She said she was "Toddlers and Tiaras".... without a tiara. And with a vest? ....right.

I found some awesome eyelashes at Five Below that were perfect for my Twitter bird costume, so I had to whip that sucker out again. It was still in mint condition, and those eyelashes made it even more awesome!

I also loved getting tweets from people and seeing pics on instagram of people copying my costume! [YAY! Something I did is like... kinda viral!]

She said she had a crisis of not enough feathers right before heading out... but this idea works too!

Their signs/legs are exactly like mine, so I can only assume they saw my costume! They made it way cuter with a tube top though.

And then I found this group of "sexy Twitter birds." People will turn anything "sexy" on Halloween!

Gah! Is it really over? Is it really time to start focusing on "the holidays?!" Unbelievable.

Thanks to everyone for sending pictures, even if you're not featured on here. I loved seeing EVERY single costume! I have beautifully awesome friends.

celebrating world smiley day with you! everyone's creepy pics

It's World Smile Day! I originally planned on trapping strangers and creepily smiling and staring at them way past the awkward point, but that was a lot harder to do than I imagined. Instead, I asked everyone to send me pictures of their creepy smiles!

People tagged/sent them to me on Facebook, Twitter, and instagram, and now I have a creeptastic bunch of collages of my online friends. [And the one I took yesterday when I thought I was headed to shoot the video...]

My, what beautiful friends I have....

No but really.... I was laughing out loud all freaking day. And some of them legitimately creep me out so I'm trying not to stare.

I freaking love you all.

on twitter: adding "in bed" to tv shows

WAY back when, we added "in bed" to slogans, and it was a freaking blast! I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to come back with another thing to add "in bed" to, but you better believe that won't happen again.

LOVED all of the answers online and on air, but here are my faves from the Twitter world.

Thanks to everyone who participated! Hopefully I got everyone included in the Storify!

IT'S SO FUN!

10 forgotten heartthrobs and what they look like now

Buzzfeed recently posted a list of 100 forgotten heartthrobs from the 80s and 90s. As fun as it was to reminisce, all I wanted to know is what some of my faves look like now.

So, I'm doing some work for us all... and finding out how many Twitter followers they have [ya know, to see how really forgotten they are].

Brandon Call- Lookin icky, and can't find a Twitter.

Chris O'Donnell- I hardly think he's forgotten, but he's one of the hottest dads ever now. And maybe people forgot what he looked like back in the day. 81k followers

David Lascher- Lookin good now, but if this is his Twitter, he needs help with his 190 followers.

BRINK! Err, Erik Von Detten- Looking the exact same [a couple years ago, with the most recent pic I could find]. Unfortunately, couldn't find a Twitter.

Jason James Richter- WOAH scary transformation! Certainly a downgrade from the Free Willy cutie. He's also so off the map, he doesn't have a Twitter.

Nate Richert- He has not aged well... but he's turned to music [not Twitter, dumb], so I guess his image change is acceptable.

Zachery Ty Bryan- Looks the exact same, but not in a good way. 754 followers. Fail.

Will Friedle- Not forgotten in my book, but totally a guy I'd like to marry nowadays. It's gonna be a bit hard to make happen since he's also boycotting the Twitterverse.

Andrew Keegan- Kinda a creepy hottie now, 311 followers. Oof.

Not on Buzzfeed's list, but he was my fave in the Disney Channel Originals. Ryan Merriman- yumtastic now. I think his Twitpics gave him the solid 24k followers.

I wonder if so many of them are off Twitter because they're embarrassed of their fall from planet Earth? Goodness. It's crazy how some people really do fall off and people don't even notice... until now.

Let me know if you look up some of the others and find some goodness!

silly people who "#knockonwood" on twitter

I'm definitely a superstitious person, and am constantly knocking on wood for different things, and last night it got me curious about what else people are knocking for.

I searched "#knockonwood" on Twitter and found some interesting things... Here are the tweets and my responses:

Seriously... now I need to knock on wood just because of what other people are saying. That's a little scary.

twitter in the 90s

For people who don't understand Twitter, let's put it in simpler terms... like what it would have been like in the 90s/in middle school.
Get it? Got it? Good!

the best of recent 90s trending topics

The past couple days have been fun on Twitter with different 90s-themed trending topics! I'm lovin' em! [But remember: #90sflashback was first, damnit! ;)]

Here are some tweets I caught from #90ssayings and #90sproblems that are dead-on.

I've been running around all crazy and couldn't get to participate too much, but it's still fun to read them! If you didn't get to participate either, you can always leave yours below!

watch: louis ck is so right about twitter

I love Twitter and all social media, that's no surprise... but I also think it's ridiculous that it, along with technology in general, is really ruling everyone's lives these days.

Louis CK was on with Conan last week and spoke the truth about it all.

"If Jesus comes back and starts telling everyone everything, everyone is just going to be Twittering. 'OMG Jesus is like right in front of me he's right there. OMG IT'S TRENDING RIGHT NOW.'"

Yes. Yes, yes, yes.

I drop social media from my life almost 100% every weekend and even though Monday morning catch up sucks, the weekend feels great. You should try it sometime.

the best of #inthe90s trending topic

I was a little disappointed when I saw that #inthe90s was trending and I wasn't anywhere near a computer, but I realized that reading them is more fun than contributing at this point. Everyone knows how I feel about the 90s, and I share awesome things daily. They're just jumping on my bandwagon for a little. [Or so I like to think...]

Anyway, here are some that I saw and enjoyed:

#onceyougetmarriedyoucant shows why i'll be single forever

It's no secret that I'm pretty sure I'm going to be single [or at least not married] for at least another decade. I'm not exactly the easiest person to date.. and I'm not about to change that.

PLUS, as much as being married sounds all peachy and smitten, today's trending topic of #OnceYouGetMarriedYouCant gives me endless reasons why my decision to "DO ME" is the right decision.

Here are some of the best tweets/reasons I found and my responses:

Look... A great relationship is cute and fabulous and I'm not hating... but if anyone thinks I'm giving up my life the way I love it now, they're TRIPPIN'. [/fake gangsta talk]

the best of #whitepeoplehobbies and #blackpeoplehobbies

Two of today's Twitter trending topics are hilariously "racist." I say it in quotes because I think it's a really good sign that we can publicly talk about ridiculous things white and black people do and laugh about it together.

We all know what stereotypes come with different races, and most of us have accepted them. Yay, America!

Here are some that I just stumbled upon that I thought were just fantastic.

There are a lot that I expected to see like stereotypical foods and straight up insults, but there weren't many of those, which probably makes it a better topic.

Feel free to send me your fave!

if the most popular logos were honest...

Viktor Hertz is a guy that obviously just likes to show the truth behind every company/business/product and their logos.

So, he took it upon himself to give some of them a quick alteration, and they're now representing the truth.

My faves are obviously the ciggies and social media ones. Let's be real- he nailed most of them. Shoot, the alcohol ones are perfection too. I CAN'T PICK A FAVORITE!

Check out the rest of them here!
