poll: what should I do with my living room?

Decisions are my enemy, and you're my best friend... so I'm glad we have developed this fantastic relationship where you can help me decide REALLY EXTRA LIFE CHANGING decisions.... like which dining room table/chairs I should get.

Every night for at least two months, I lay in my bed [during my only "me time"] and try to find the perfect set and I don't think "perfect" is going to happen in my budget. So here's what we're looking at.

You know my living room is purple and turquoise, but my kitchen is green, and the dining room is inbetween. I've decided I definitely want a black table of some sort and green chairs, but I can't decide which shade or which height. This is where you come in. [I put a vase that is similar to one I just got so you can see how the colors will hopefully flow, along with other artwork etc.]

This is your typical dining height table [this one expands to get longer] with a really light "celery green" leather chair or a lime green microfiber one.

This is "counter height" which is really only a couple inches higher, but to me it seems cooler. Again, a cloth true-green option, and leather lighter option.

In my head, the lighter colors would be an easier, more fun transition with colors, but now that I put these together I'm not sure if that's entirely true. Also, it's impossible to find a green chair with black legs. The C option is the only one I wouldn't have to paint to match the table.

I'm trying to class up my apartment so which option do you think best does that?

I know the tables are plain, but a girl's gotta save SOME kind of money! I figure the chairs make more of an impact... right or wrong?

Have I told you lately that I love you?

poll: which colorful hairstyle should i go with next?

It's about that time again... time for a change. Not only do I want to switch up my hair, but I'm probably switching salons.

I've been wanting to add more color/funk/blonde for a bit now, but didn't know what I wanted to do. Scratch that, I still don't know what I want to do.... but after finding the absolutely marvelous Ruby Devine, I've got some inspiration [and excitement to hopefully get her hands on my head]!

Obviously I need your help. I've gathered some of my favorites, now we just need to team up to narrow it down. I'm hoping to keep a red base of some sort and add a little bit of blonde/light to it all, but I'm open to your opinions too. If you really love one of these but think different colors would be best, you just let a girl know.

By now, I assume you know what I look like... so check out these styles, most of which Ruby has done herself, then weigh in on your faves!

I'm sure a lot of people are like "aren't most of these the same?" Well, no... but very similar. BUT STILL DIFFERENT, OKAY?!

Maybe we also discuss color...

You know how much I appreciate you helping me make such really hard decisions, right? You're always here for me. I owe ya.

this or that?: which kimono outfit works best?

I tried to resist shopping during Memorial Day weekend.... but knowing all the sales, I really couldn't. One thing I got was this kimono from Charlotte Russe. It was on my "to get" list for a couple weeks.

The color is perfect, it's super light, but when I first put it on, I realized they're not the most flattering pieces of clothing. That's why I had to come up with some options before I decided to keep it.

This entire option [which I actually wore to work] is straight out of Charlotte Russe, minus the purple pants from F21 and bracelet from BlueLans.

With the fun colors in the kimono, it makes it extra fun for make-up. The shadow was actually a lot more purple than it shows here, but oh well.

This could totally be my birthday outfit, or something for a girls day out, right?! Even though there's no pink in the kimono, I love how the colors work together.
-skirt is from F21
-cropped cami from H&M
-bracelet was a hand-made gift
-necklace from F21
-booties also from F21

And now for the most simple outfit, even with mis-matched patterns.
-tank from Old Navy
-shorts from Kohls
-sandals from GoJane
-earrings from the beach

I think I'll keep it! I also tried it with a white skater dress, which was okay, but I think it's best paired with form-fitting options. Also- picking a necklace always seemed to be difficult. I wanted to wear a shorter, chunkier, colorful necklace... but never felt good about it.

Which is your favorite look?

And of course, any of your opinions are always wanted in these posts!

poll!: help me decide how to paint this furniture!

After your help with my hair turned out to be extremely beneficial, I'll probably start leaning on you to help me make a lot of decisions. I'm pretty terrible at them most of the time.

Today's bother: How to paint my chest. Toy chest. Seriously. It's filled with nothing but games and toys.

Originally I wanted to do it all bright blue.. then I decided to only do the top blue, and the bottom gray. Now that I've gotten the colors [and they're probably way brighter than they should be], I don't know if that's the right decision!

Here's a look at my living room as a whole so you can get a feel for it. [Keep in mind it's still in the middle of the from college to real life transformation.]

The coffee tables and my tv stand/shelves are white, and I'll probably end up painting the futon frame gray.... or whatever color you suggest.

Here it is so far. I quickly threw on some of the gray just to show ya the contrast... and some blue to see how it would look down there.

Is there a way to add black paint to gray and make it a little darker?! It's gotta work, right?! That gray is just too close to white for me to love it right now... but still, I gotta make a decision. Help a girl out!

I feel like I'm trying to bring too much color into the room, but like... I LOVE COLOR. And this dark purple/bright blue-ish turquoise have been the colors of my living room since junior year. Why go back now?

If you have any other ideas/tips, comment or tweet me and I'll send you loves and kisses! Or mostly just loves.

celebrity lookalikes: an olympian and two actresses

Every once in a while I like to do these mostly random posts. I've done them since the very beginning of this here blog! When I find someone I think looks like a certain celeb, I remember it and wanna see if I'm alone in thinking this!

Ever since Divergent has been out, I've gotten the "you look like Shailene Woodley" comment at least three times a week! I don't see it, so it's hard for me to find lookalike pics, but here's the email I got from my boss:

Now here are some that I think are identical!

Every time I see commercials for the new show "Black Box," I think it's my Kane Show co-intern Stacy! I'm pretty sure they'd look MORE alike actually in person, since they don't smile the same.

And I couldn't stop staring at my friend's boyfriend one night until I finally told him he was Ryan Lochte's twin. Luckily, he doesn't have the douchey traits of the swimmer.

Now is when you tell me if I'm an idiot or not. Do you see it?!

If you have someone that the world thinks you look like, let me know! Doppelgangers are always fun!

poll: help me decide how to cut my hair!

Something is seriously wrong with me. I have become the most indecisive person ever. It's been over three months since I got my hair done and I still haven't made an appointment because I can't figure out where to go or what to do.

I want a change... and I might even be up for a bold one... so I put together 19 different looks on Instyle's makeover website app. I tried to make them as realistic as possible by making them a lot flatter and thinner, because that's how my hair works, and not trying to take the most photogenic picture ever.

So.... there's a lot of different things going on there.. and none of them can even illustrate my favorite hair coloring I've ever seen on Pinterest:

Is that not super fun?! Gah.

Anyway... I don't wanna say my favorite cut or anything [even though I think I made it obvious how much I love that last coloring job], but PLEEEASE help me out and pick three of your favorites! And/or tweet me if you wanna combine two of them.

I'm hoping you pick something that I can agree with at least a little bit. I'm pretty prepared to do whatever wins [or a combo of the top picks], unless it seems sabotaged! ;) *deep breaths*

this or that outfit polls

I think I just discovered a new thing I want to start doing! And there are even a few ways for YOU to get involved!

There are several things in my closet that are my own staples that I try and figure out different ways to wear them every day... and then there are also outfits where I can't figure out which accessories or something works best... so now I'm just going to ask you!

It started with this gray military jacket I dusted off from my closet. I used to wear it all the time [as you see in the header pic up there] even though it was uncomfortable. I tried it out again, and it fit way better than before! Now I can wear it buttoned up, which I never even considered before.

So... it's a simple change, but what do you think works best?

I've been obsessed with striped tanks for a while now because they're the easiest way to add a little something under jackets, cardigans, etc... plus they're the easiest pattern to mix-n-match with! This tank would be worn every day if it was acceptable.

Recently, I wore it around Philly with my favorite green jacket and tan boots, and again for an artist interview/performance with a pink blazer and booties. [I'm not sure if the cut of the neck droops with the pink because I wasn't wearing a tank underneath or it was stretched out.. woops.]

With these, I feel like they're so different it's not really about picking one or the other... right?!

And finally, I've been trying to pair up a scarf and blazer for a while, but for whatever reason I always think it looks way better on other people. When I posted an intoxicated selfie asking for opinions, everyone loved the final option. I tried two other accessories first, though- A coral bubble necklace and black chandelier earrings.

My idea for getting YOU involved is simple! If you ever have a hard time deciding on something with an outfit, send it to me, and we'll help you out! We're all friends here. We won't bite unless you deserve it. Just tweet or Instagram a pic and tag me [@luvelizabethany] or email it to me!
I'll also try to reach out to some of the WYWW regulars to do this soon.

nifty: lingerie you control with your phone

You've seen it in movies and probably thought about it in your head as "the best invention ever," but now it's real life. Someone beat you to it.

Durex is introducing FUNdawear! It's perfect for long distance couples and ass**** couples alike. [Like if you wanna be a D and mess with your lady/man while they're in class or something...]

That video is mostly awkward, but I can see how this would be really great. Thankfully the bra and boxer briefs are attractive, too! Now we just need to work on those boy shorts....

Here's how it all works:

As someone who's been in a couple too many long distance relationships, I'll admit that I think this would be pretty fun to have. Even if it's not the most sexually healing device, it'd be hella fun to try. And funny.

Would you try it?

Right now it's only being experimented in Australia which is stupid. They're even hooking people up with 5-star hotels and dolla dolla bills just to give it a whirl.

polls: how do you feel about real world portland and the premiere?!

It's back! Real World Portland just premiered, and since I haven't been doing chats anymore, I still want to know your immediate thoughts about the show!

Reflect on the episode and let me know what you think! Simple, first impressions of course!

Apparently four of them have shipped out to do the next challenge, and Jess had some drama with Laura from St. Thomas yesterday, but I will be doing podcasts again this season so send me any questions too!

listen: the new nkotb song is really pretty good!

Okay, I know I'm a little biased when it comes to boy bands, but the truth is- I missed the NKOTB bandwagon by like two years. I've never had a bias for them.

So, when I tell you that their new song is actually worthy of your time, you should believe me! It's got the credibility of an old school boy band fun vibe, but is also evolving into the new stuff we're playing these days.

Maybe you agree with me, maybe you don't, but I'm on a mission to find out your true opinion here. I have some convincing to do with my bossman, but I don't wanna be wrong about it, so tell me what you think!

Ohhh this show is going to be so good. There better be good seats still available when I order at least 10 of them come Friday morning.

pinspired outfit: which shoes do i wear with this skirt?!

Oh dear. I definitely needed help yesterday in the form of a stylist, or preferably a shoe store in my closet.

Another piece from the F21 super-clearance was a rust-colored skirt for a whopping $6. It was perfect for doing this outfit I've loved on Pinterest:

In my head, I had all the pieces I needed... until I tried putting them together. The "navy blue" shirt I have isn't as dark as I thought [but it's also not as light as in the pictures...], and the boots I imagined were way lighter than they should be for the outfit. Really, this is all I was working with:

[Sorry for the awkward posing. I had two different heel-heights on..]

Why did I have two different shoes?! Because I really couldn't decide which ones to wear for this post/the Twilight premiere I had to work last night! I took pictures in 6 different pairs, and still couldn't decide, so now I'm asking for your help. Sure, it's a little late, but I'll definitely wanna wear this skirt again!

Six options, pick your fave if you can! [Keep in mind the "perfect" pair for the outfit doesn't exist in my closet.]

I personally think the cowboy boots work the best because of their color, but wearing those things to a top-40 station event in Hampton is just unacceptable, so I went with option A... completely dissatisfied.

For my hair, I wanted to do the hair-bow, but I quickly learned it's damn near impossible to do on your own hair unless you have super hands. Braids it was! And my makeup- Neutral lids with brown eyeliner, and blue on the bottom! My new fave thing to do.

Clearly I'm still no professional with this fashion stuff... which is the whole point of these challenges! I'm learning how to put things together [with your and Pinterest's help], and hopefully teaching you that cheap doesn't mean ugly/boring!

Not even halfway done with this go-around.... Wish me luck through the weekend!

celebrity lookalikes?: my twin sylvia yacoub on the voice

It's getting a little ridiculous how many people have tweeted, Facebooked, texted, etc about watching "my Greek twin" on The Voice. I'll admit it though- I see it.

Her name is Sylvia Yacoub, and though we don't look totally alike, I see where she could be the Greek version of me.

What ya think? Are these people right or delusional in thinking we're lookalikes?!

While we're at it, I'll throw in this one that I made on Halloween. My mom vs. The Wicked Witch.

My mom informed me that I'll be getting coal for Christmas after making that pic, so I figured I might as well make it worth it.

poll: who should i talk to after real world st thomas episode 8?

As I said after talking to Laura last week, I've now talked to them all, and I want YOU to pick which roommate I talk to each week!

Of course, there's no guarantee the first choice will get talked to since I can't coordinate with them earlier in the week like I normally do, but I will absolutely try! Just in case, pick your top two!

ALSO, since we're halfway through the season, let's answer these polls to see how you're feeling about everyone since I'm not doing them in chatrooms! There are only 6 questions, so it's quick! [Scroll to the right and you'll see the start button!]

Tonight's episode looks CRAY with Robb! Interested to see how this all goes down!

from the show: would you get your mom a sex toy for mother's day?

I had someone call in to comment on me not knowing what to get my mom for Mother's Day because she has everything, and they gave me the one gift idea I'd really never think of... a freaking sex toy.

Catherine said she has reasons to give one to her mom, along with some lingerie. WEIRD.

Listen to her reasoning and the shocking reactions from listeners:

Like... WHAT?! I can't even imagine the moment my mom saw such things in a gift bag. I don't WANNA imagine that moment. WAH.

Would YOU do it?!

Also from the show, I found a list of "the worst of the most disgusting habits" and wanted to prove it wrong, so I did. Hear what REALLY bothers people:

listen: brandy and monica's "it all belongs to me"

They're teaming up again! And just like I was super excited for Nelly and Kelly Rowland's second team-up, I had high expectations for this song!

Problem is, it's always going to be hard to live up to a classic song when it's more than 10 years later.

Still, this song isn't terrible at all. It's definitely not something I'm immediately falling in love with, but it's enjoyable. It's more along the lines of Beyonce's "Irreplaceable."

Take a listen for yourself:

What do you think? Love it or hate it?

It'll be on both of their albums, coming out this year! Yay!

podcast/poll: can you give out your phone number if in a relationship

I was thinking about this question the other night, and instead of coming up with my own rule that could get a bunch of people in trouble, I brought it up on the show and had a good response!

If you're in a relationship, and someone asks for your number, can you give it to them?

My answer is straight up yes. Either you meet a new friend, or you never use it. What's it going to hurt? BUT... listeners had other things to say.

Listen to the podcast of their calls and then vote for what you believe!

poll: do women have to take the man's last name?

I've always liked my last name. It WAS my name throughout high school. I've never loved the idea of taking a man's last name unless it was really cool, but as my friends get married, I realize I really don't want to part ways with mine!

I decided to take it to the airwaves and Facebook. I assumed I'd get attacked, especially by guys, saying that I'm an awful female. [Good thing I don't pride myself on being much of a girl.]

Listeners surprised me. A lot. About 70-80% of people actually agree with me, or have ways to compromise.

I really don't want to hyphenate my name, either. I mean seriously... Elizabethany + middle name + Ploger [my last name] + another last name?! Holy hell. That's not even right.

Only one more way to settle this... with an official poll! Sound off:

listen: brand new backstreet boys! "lost in space"

It's finally time for some BRAND NEW BSB music!

Check out their new single, "Lost in Space" and tell me what you think about it!

It seems a little *meh* to me, but maybe that's because I want my 90s back. Ginger coworker Corey says it sounds like a Jay Sean song, so maybe that's a good thing radio-wise. We shall see!

celebrity lookalikes: ashley tisdale and mark zuckerberg

I was checking out my newest followers on Twitter today, and stumbled upon Allison, AKA @reignboXploshun. The first thing I thought was "holy wow... She looks like the brunette Ashley Tisdale.

I did my research, and I think I was right. They even make the same face!

So naturally, I had to find another doppelganger for this post, and my ginger radio BFF has been trying to convince me that people think he looks like Mark Zuckerberg. It's time to get to the bottom of that opinion.

What do you think? Did I find Ashley's long lost twin? Does Zuckerberg maybe have a brother he didn't know about?

Check out past lookalikes here, and if you think you look like someone and want to find out for sure, holler at me!
