what ya wearin new years eve 2015

I know, I know... I'm hella late getting these posts up nowadays... which is probably why a lot of you forget to even tag your pictures. You've lost faith in me and OH MY GOD I'M SORRY.

Here are all your beautiful faces.

@lorismellyz and her side boob looked supah hott!

I love the perfection of @mrskaiyamessenger's makeup and hair

@nicoletheginge looks stunning in red.. who says gingers can't rock red?!

@foreverket was also a beautiful lady in red!

@toribabyy14 decided to go with my favorite NYE color: purple!

@cadyeimer, @kristendraper and her friend went with blue sparkles.. for the win!

Let's talk about how great @EGNolan's hat is.

You can't tell, but @alizook's dress is a fabulous purple velvet with some mesh, and @jennay_z is all metallic.

LOVING @KatieRadio1's sparkly blazer!

It was a beautiful transformation after a workday for @kkaipirinha77

@monie_ WERKIN that leg!

I love all the different styles on @megshughrue and her friends!

Obsessed with Andrea's dress, that she got from the resale app Vinted!

And then some people I spent my New Year with!

Mike Jones from DC101 was something special.

Seems like America was the theme for some guys. These randos were rocking the shorts.

My girls were full of sparkles! I also loved the velvet skirt on Keona on the right.

And after I asked you to help me choose my outfit and I *kinda* listened, I decided to go with the option that I thought I'd never find appropriate for any other occasion than me hosting a huge NYE party.

It happened on accident. I randomly saw the vest on my messy ass floor and put it on.. and magic happened. Once again, it's pretty much all from Charlotte Russe which I hate having to say, but at least it looks good! The only exception: Guess shoes from DSW and earrings from H&M.

NYE outfits are the absolute best. I wish I could have taken pictures of every person in the building. That would have prevented me from drinking, though. It also would have sucked since I clearly only had my phone camera with me.

Also, I could give you a ton of excuses why I take so long these days but.. you don't want to hear them. SO.. I'll just say one: Life in the office be cray lately. Here's to hoping for a slow-down soon... so I can focus on other work.

wearing: little red country dress

I don't this dress is meant to be "country," but when I paired it with my booties, I felt like a dressed up cowgirl for some reason.

It came from the clearance rack at Forever21, and if you don't have a little red dress that's perfect for any occasion [you can dress it up or down], your closet is missing out.

-F21 dress
-Charlotte Russe wraparound bracelet/watch
-Old Navy booties
-BlueLans earrings
-Urban Decay lipstick from Ipsy
-total outfit: about $30

I didn't realize how see-through the back was... luckily I wore a red bra. I'm sure all the new coworkers I met that day immediately thought "slut in red" though.

This baby is going to carry over into the fall/winter nicely. Pair it with a little black leather jacket? Yes please!

People are always complaining about how making their wardrobe "look expensive" is impossible on their budget. I don't think I necessarily look expensive, but I doubt anyone thinks I spend as little on my outfits as I do unless they follow my blog. It makes me proud, really.

wearing: mixed patterns and a kimono

All aboard the kimono train! I've definitely fallen for many of them, as long as they don't make me look too bohemian/straight out of Coachella. [Not that there's anything wrong with that... but like... that ain't me yo!]

I found this floral and plaid one during my clearance haul a couple weeks ago and immediately knew I wanted to wear it with stripes. I also knew it was perfect to go from summer to fall because of the flowers paired with the plaid.

-skirt from Forever21
-shoes from Charlotte Russe
-bracelet/watch from BlueLans
-total outfit cost: $35

Added a little braid to the opposite side of my hair to switch things up a bit.

I feel a pretty big sense of pride when I mix up patterns. This one wasn't hard, but it was my big accomplishment of the day [and interviewing Rixton].

Also, it feels a little weird to have so many clothes from Charlotte lately.... but when their sales are good, I'm all over it.

wearing: tan maxi and denim

A couple weekends ago, I tweeted about it being an awesome weekend to pick up some clearance items with an extra percentage off. I wasn't kidding. I stocked up! There are going to be lots of new outfit posts. [Especially because my computer is sucking at editing video right now.]

First up- this tan maxi skirt. I've been wanting one for a while now, preferably with stripes, but when I found this for $9, it's hard to resist.

-skirt from Charlotte Russe
-plain white cami
-denim vest from LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl's
-headband from Forever21
-necklace from BlueLans
-brown/white sandals from Papaya

The best thing about maxi skirts is you feel like you're wearing pajamas, but you look nice. I wear them when I know I'm going to be in the office from morning til the wee morning. I almost just wore a t-shirt with this, but I was literally so comfortable, I felt weird about it... even though it looked great.

This baby is going to take me well into fall and could really work year-round. Tan is great like that.

this or that?: which kimono outfit works best?

I tried to resist shopping during Memorial Day weekend.... but knowing all the sales, I really couldn't. One thing I got was this kimono from Charlotte Russe. It was on my "to get" list for a couple weeks.

The color is perfect, it's super light, but when I first put it on, I realized they're not the most flattering pieces of clothing. That's why I had to come up with some options before I decided to keep it.

This entire option [which I actually wore to work] is straight out of Charlotte Russe, minus the purple pants from F21 and bracelet from BlueLans.

With the fun colors in the kimono, it makes it extra fun for make-up. The shadow was actually a lot more purple than it shows here, but oh well.

This could totally be my birthday outfit, or something for a girls day out, right?! Even though there's no pink in the kimono, I love how the colors work together.
-skirt is from F21
-cropped cami from H&M
-bracelet was a hand-made gift
-necklace from F21
-booties also from F21

And now for the most simple outfit, even with mis-matched patterns.
-tank from Old Navy
-shorts from Kohls
-sandals from GoJane
-earrings from the beach

I think I'll keep it! I also tried it with a white skater dress, which was okay, but I think it's best paired with form-fitting options. Also- picking a necklace always seemed to be difficult. I wanted to wear a shorter, chunkier, colorful necklace... but never felt good about it.

Which is your favorite look?

And of course, any of your opinions are always wanted in these posts!

wearing: graphic skating

I'm just so glad it's finally nice enough to break out the skirts and dresses. They make getting dressed for work so much easier and more fun.

We had Magic! in the studio yesterday [they sing the "Rude" song... interview and videos coming soon!], but I woke up late and had to throw something together. Insert go-to skater skirt and a graphic tee.

-tee from New York and Co.
-skirt from ASOS
-old gold t-strap sandals
-gold chain bling from Charlotte Russe
[estimated total: under $30]

I feel like skater skirts don't do much for the figure. There's not much being shown off when you're wearing a tee with them, but they sure are comfortable and easy... and SO versatile.

AKA... get one if you haven't yet. Duh.

weekend outfits: impeccably red

Have you listened to my super fun interview with Karmin yet? I love it... but also... I still love that she said my outfit was "impeccable." Here's what I wore:

Very simple, really...
-purplish-maroonish leather jacket from Target $15
-chiffon white tank from H&M- $5
-military green jeans from Charlotte Russe $15
-lace up boots from JustFab [ugh] $40
-silver and black necklace from Old Navy- $2

I really like the way the green and color of the jacket go... a contrast that seems to match.

And on Saturday, got a little Pinspired by this:

-red cardi from Charlotte Russe $15
-striped skirt from Forever21 $6
-fleece-lined leggings from Rue21 $6
-black booties from F21 $12
-old white scarf and red lipstick from ipsy

I like it when basics come together for something more. I'm still not positive I love the Saturday outfit, but it was fun for the night and made me feel confident, which no other outfit did at the time.

wearing: sweater and leather

It was a little warmer the past couple days, so I didn't need a full coat, which made it perfect for a leather jacket!

I paired my favorite one from LC at Kohl's with my new go-to pants... the olive jeans from Charlotte Russe.

-jeans from Charlotte for $15
-sweater tee from F21 a long time ago
-leather jacket from Kohl's $40 [I bought it for an event]
-boots from Target $20
-purse to add a little contrast: thrifted!

I like that my sweater is such a deep v and the jacket has that buckle/snap at the top... it creates a fake cutout of sorts, right?!

The truth is.. I really wanna start posting a bajillion more outfit posts, but I've put on a quick 10 pounds while off my meds [I literally can't stop eating. I'd go to rehab if I could], so pictures aren't my favorite thing right now... but I'm working on it! Gotta work those angles, right?! [And before you're all "shut up, you can't even tell" or something, YOU shut up. :) I'm not looking for pity or saying I'm fat.. just opening up/sharing my weight fluctuation issues.]

Also... I felt like this outfit was really cute when I wore it yesterday, but now I'm realizing it's just like all the other outfits that everyone loves on Pinterest- mostly pretty plain. WHATEVER. I LIKE PLAIN, OKAY.
