watch etv: our first night in new orleans for mardi gras

After having some [insert not nice word here] threatened "legal action" when I posted the first cut of this video, we had to go through a lot of "higher ups" to get this final version approved before upload! Thankfully, we didn't have to take much out.

Anyway! I'm super excited to finally post this on here! Our first night in New Orleans was a clusterF of getting acquainted. Lotsa boobies, lotsa booze, lotsa being stoopid.

That's just a small portion of our trip! I'm going to do a video per day that we were there, so expect the next one at the beginning of next week!

And boys- you're welcome for the boobs. Sorry for the small censorship.

real world 27 is in st. thomas/the virgin islands! and this is the house

I originally heard/tweeted that the next season of Real World would be in the Dominican Republic thanks to things I found on Facebook, but then I got several confirmations that it's going to be in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands!

Hassel Island, to be exact. [Yeah, they're basically going to have their own island that they'll boat back and forth from. INSANE.]

I'm assuming they'll be having production doing the boat driving. Can you imagine a bunch of drunk 20-somethings trying to operate a boat?! Wow. That'd be a show in itself.

Here's some more of the island house:

To be honest, the house doesn't seem nearly as impressive as San Diego's first glance did, but it's an island.... AN ISLAND.

Should I say it again?

They're set to begin filming this week, if they haven't already today, and I will totally keep you up to date on any juice I find. [And, DUH, if you hear anything, you know who to tell!]

PS: If you wanna know more about the area, holler at Vevmo. They're the ones who found the pics of the house, too.

my thrift store outfit i wore to an important meeting

I had a meeting in DC yesterday [I would tell you exactly why, but because I don't think anything will immediately come from it, I'm going to hold off.. but if you pay attention to tweets and stuff, you may have gotten it], and I decided to dig into my "nothing but clearance, thrift store, and hand me down items" pile for my outfit.

[Sorry, I totally did MySpace pictures for this one in the office bathroom.]

The blazer is actually my mom's, and she got it from a thrift store for $3!! I've learned that's the best place to get them, and if you roll the sleeves up a bit, they become a little "younger" than what they were probably originally designed for.
The black tee is a basic from Forever 21 that I got for $7, the jeans are from TJ Maxx for $12, the shoes are from Charlotte Russe's clearance rack for $15, and the necklace was on clearance at Rue21 for $.99!!!

For everything: $38. And I think I look pretty damn good and professional. Beyond that: my butt looks incredible in these jeans.

Moral of the story, and all my stories: Check the clearance, go to thrift stores, buy things cheap, and don't feel bad about it. You'll still look great! [You can also get a camera phone with a Best Buy promotional code and take neat photos like me.]

My EBudget tip for this post is to set one day a week, mine is normally Friday because I'm so busy, to just run in your favorite stores and go straight to the clearance racks. Don't look at anything else, but stay up to date with what's on sale!

another list of lessons only 90s kids have learned

I saw this on Pinterest and I just HAVE to post it on here! A long laundry list of the things only us 90s kids have learned throughout the years:

If only this is all we really had to learn in life... I'd be a damn genius.

nifty: keyboard jeans

If you think these are crazy, I think YOU'RE crazy. They have come out with a pair of jeans that is perfect for the lazy, no-desk-having, laptop-using computer nerds like me. They literally have a keyboard, speakers, and mouse built right into them.

I haven't seen any girl versions, but let's be honest- This is about the usefulness. And girls used to be able to pull off the baggy guy jeans in the 90s, I say we bring em back full force. Maybe even have the laptop built right in!

They'll be costing a pretty penny, around $400, but eventually they'll have to go on sale. I'll be on the lookout for the both of us.

Move over, Pajama Jeans. You're not even that cool anymore.

my mardi gras 2012: the pics

I went for my second round of Mardi Gras in New Orleans this past weekend and died. Well, okay... I've obviously been revived now, but I was pretty dead.

Nine of us stayed in one hotel room; 3 friends from Texas, two friends from Florida, my BFF from South Carolina, Corey, Bobby Hollywood, and me. We also met up with the two listeners that won the trip: Stephanie and Colleen!

There are well over 300 pictures and videos, so I figured I'd get up the pictures ASAP so you can occupy yourself while I edit the videos together.

Here are some of my favorites... the rest can be found right here on the FB.

Mr. Pilot Man let us in the cockpit after our flight! Love!

The boys' outfits for the flights!

The entire crew!

Colleen and Stephanie are the pretty ladies on the left.

Cyndi Lauper threw me beads!!!

Added two MTV *stars* to my list of those I've met! Chelsea from Teen Mom 2 and Daniel from Caged. By the looks of things, they totally hooked up that night.

Not naming any names, but someone in our group actually made out with this *beautiful* man.

Spearing the Old Spice Guy.

More fun costumes!

It's kinda like getting arrested for being awesome. Or... something.

I got in a ketchup and mustard fight with some stranger at a hot dog stand.

The view from a balcony!

And we did in fact make it back for the party in Virginia Beach on Fat Tuesday! AND I got my face painted!

Thank GOODNESS Bobby made it back! His phone died before we left and wasn't on our flight. It was awful. Luckily we had most of his stuff with us, and he made friends with a stranger who helped him get another flight home.

As for my outfits, last year I went very normal. This year I wanted sparkles and colors! I wore sparkly skirts from Forever 21 that each cost less than 15$, bright tights for under $5 each, and older shirts I found in my drawer. One was really slutty and completely open in the front [from my college days], so it was perfect. Luckily the beads do most of the work on top outfit-wise though. I also had bright pink jeans for about $12, and a sparkly shirt for under $15 as well. All from Forever, and not ashamed to admit it.

If you're ever having to plan a NoLA Mardi Gras outfit, you should know that rain boots are a MUST. The streets are nasty. You'll see in the Facebook pics. I got mine from Old Navy!

These are the best glimpses of two of my outfits [sorry, wasn't thinking about being fashionable in pictures. Woopsies.]:

Who knew vuvuzelas had another purpose?! Not I.....

At least one video should be up tomorrow or early Friday morning! Might have to do multiples considering all the videos we got!

Now the countdown for next year begins. Our boss already okay'd it and even said he'd help us get a balcony. Hell yes.

podcast: bombarding odu students and invading their privacy

Since getting callers on the topics I do every day is so unpredictable, I had the idea to take it in my own hands and just find people in public to talk to/put on the show.

I went to ODU last week and found random students outside and asked them a variety of different things- both random and what I talked about throughout the week.

I asked where they had sex, if they'd hook up with Snooki, what they thought about vagina lipstick, and what they wanted for Valentine's Day... amongst other things. The answers were more amazing than I could have imagined.

"I'm already pink enough" is now a quote that will forever be one of my favorites/replayed on my show. Freakin' great. And some of the guys I talked to were ROTC students which had me a little apprehensive, but they were hilarious. Imagine finding out your boyfriend wanted to have a threesome with your best friend...

This will be happening once or twice a week now, and hopefully I'll be traveling to different schools/areas. Once the summer is here, I can only imagine what the tourists will have in store for me.

Let me know if you thought it was as funny/entertaining as I did!

watch: the local morning news shared my ellen's dance dare video!

AH! Could I be one step closer?! This morning I got a tweet from Blaine Stewart, one of the anchors at News Channel 3 here in Hampton Roads [which just HAPPENS to be the same channel Ellen is on in the afternoons!], and he told me they'd be showing my video live on the morning show!

Here's what they played: First, the teaser, then the story-

HAHAHA, not going to lie, I'm not surprised people are commenting on my gyration and humping [someone on their FB page really didn't like it], and I wouldn't be surprised if that has something to do with Ellen not showing it, but hey- I was doing the white girl! Plus, when you're in the moment and have no music but the crazy, no-sense-making beats in your head, regular dance moves don't even seem right, nor fun.

I gotta thank Blaine and that whole team for sharing it! Hopefully it'll get some more local views. I'm still very low on them compared to others [I can't figure out why! :(], so feel free to watch it a bunch more times! I hate being obnoxious.

pic: radio in a nutshell

Saw this picture on Facebook via Mike Askins and it's just too dead-on NOT to share.

That last pic is literally what I do every night. Some people who come in to visit are shocked. Sorry to disappoint you if you thought I was all wiggity-wiggity-scratch-fancy in here.

happy valentine's day from me and fckh8!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope whatever you have planned today, you LOVE it. Single people probably have the most fun, BTW. So embrace it, embrace all the other pissed off single people, and have a good night!

Here's a fabulous e-card straight from my favorite people at FCKH8.

They produce gold. and I fully support their occupy movement. Maybe it's even time to get my third shirt soon.

And this is straight from my heart:

I love you all! Fo'serious.

pinteresting: apple slice pancakes [recipe and pics!]

YES! Continuing on with actually making the recipes I pin!

Yesterday morning I decided to start my day off with a slightly more healthier kick than most of my Sunday mornings and made these delicious pancake-covered apple slices!

This picture might do them more justice...

They're literally apple slices dipped in pancake batter and put on the griddle! SUPER easy! And the apples are nice and warm and melt in your mouth. YUM!
For the fellow cheap and simple people like me, here's what you should do:
What ya need:
  • 1 apple per 7 or 8 pancakes
  • Pancake mix/batter
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • Caramel if you'd like them to be more dessert-y

What you'll do:

  1. Core and slice an apple into small slices. I had about 10 slices, then got rid of the outside/very middle ones.
  2. Make the pancake batter according to the box or whatever you use to make it.
  3. Add cinnamon to taste. I added about a tablespoon, but I could have added a lot more. Cinnamon-y apples are obviously delicious.
  4. Dip the apple slices in the batter and place them on the griddle or in a greased pan.
  5. You'll cook them just like pancakes, but it might take a little extra time and a couple extra flips to make sure you get all of the batter cooked.

Then you're done! I kinda wish I could have put caramel on them to make them delicious, but I think you could also put some sugar on the top once one side is placed on the griddle/before you flip it for the first time. Might help accentuate the apples taste.

If you try it and make any changes that make them great, do tell! I was unfortunately trying to make it a healthier, apple-focused breakfast.

what i think about the grammy awards' red carpet, and rick ross' v-neck

Because I tweeted damn near 50 times last night during the Grammy's [or so it seems], I'm not going to tell you everything I thought. You can go look if you'd like.

BUT... I didn't get to talk about the red carpet, and we obviously need to.

Here's what I loved, hands down:

She can do NO wrong, and she's channeling her inner Faith Hill, which is a pretty great decision.

Another reason Kelly Rowland deserves more credit in the music industry. Beautiful.

NEVER thought I'd put Paris in a category of looking good at the Grammy's, but homegirl did it right. I hope that doesn't mean her album will be good. I don't think I could support that.

Nothing bad to say about this lady... even when there's snot coming out of her nose.

Hate the hair, but look at that body! Damn gurl.

These actually leave me a little undecided on my feelings:

I kinda wanna put this in the "good" pile, but I won't. A lot of people HATED her for wearing bebe on the red carpet, but like she said- it's her. Plus, I thought she looked rather pretty.

Sure, it's an ugly outfit, but she's not dressing like a man, and if you take off that netting, her face is actually pretty. I commend her for not being an attention whore.

T-Swift and Gaga in this category! Can you believe it?! I think this dress had potential. It's pretty, and I do enjoy the heart at the chest. I think she had great hair for it, too... but where the f are her boobs?! Plus, it's Taylor.

Alicia Keys rarely looks bad, but I'm hating this hair on her. Swizz Beats and that purple velour jacket- I'm kinda in love with it. Not everyone can pull that off.

And these are just stupid decisions:

Miss Linda Ramone. She's like part Ashley Olsen, part Reba, part Zenon, part saggier boobs than Betty White.

As I said last night, it's like her main focus is outdoing Lady Gaga these days. She had to make some weird red carpet entrance that tied into her performance just like the egg, but no one liked it. It was stupid and rather pointless. Leave the pope outta this.

I'm sorry... is that a doily, Fergie? Did you get this as a DIY idea on Pinterest?

I coulda let the dress slide, Robyn... then you had to wear the platform Tim's.

I've been saying that Katy is so pretty she can pull off the blue hair, but not this time. The roots showing is tacky. The blue on blue is not a good look.. and the style of her dress makes her look a bit larger, am I right?

But THIS.... is the best outfit I saw all night.

RICK ROSS. IN A V-NECK. And that pose! Stop it and get out of town. I haven't giggled so hard at an outfit in a long time.

Overall, it was a decent show. I'm not mad about Adele winning so much, especially after she thanked radio. Not many pop stars will do that. The only thing I ask for next year: A little less "reminiscing" on the music from 40 years ago. Bring back the 90s music for reminiscing purposes, kthanks.

nifty?: lipstick for your hoo-ha

Maybe I'm just a little sheltered [which I'm pretty sure is not the case here], but I don't see the need for lipstick for your vagina. BUT... it exists. And it's called "My New Pink Button."

Okay, so they don't call it lipstick, they say it's a temporary dye! I didn't realize we lost pinkness in our vajay as we got older, ladies, but apparently it's a real problem and everyone is worried about it.

They also mentioned that if you wanted to get a man in trouble, you could always put this on and it'll show up on his wein when he goes home to his woman. Two things about that: you should not be hooking up with taken men, you also shouldn't be the one to punish him, soooo..... take that reason to get it out of the equation, ya hoe.

Am I wrong to think this is a bit much?! Tell me if so. I wanna be enlightened! [NO pun intended]

listen: brandy and monica's "it all belongs to me"

They're teaming up again! And just like I was super excited for Nelly and Kelly Rowland's second team-up, I had high expectations for this song!

Problem is, it's always going to be hard to live up to a classic song when it's more than 10 years later.

Still, this song isn't terrible at all. It's definitely not something I'm immediately falling in love with, but it's enjoyable. It's more along the lines of Beyonce's "Irreplaceable."

Take a listen for yourself:

What do you think? Love it or hate it?

It'll be on both of their albums, coming out this year! Yay!

this is a problem, america

Before I get into this, I need to make a disclaimer: I am a huge lover of all things buffalo chicken flavored. I've made the mac and cheese, the pizza, the dip... and I plan on making all of these buffalo chicken recipes.

That being said, when this flavor of SODA is being made, our country has taken their love for chicken wings entirely too far.

That's effing disgusting. Why would anyone want to send a bubbly mess of hot sauce down their throat?! EW.

Which brings me to something else: BACON. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of bacon, but I do think the fad of it is kinda funny... until fast food places start serving bacon flavored milkshakes.

Which, b-t-dubs, THEY ARE. If you have a Jack-n-the-Box around, go holler at it if you want bacon mushed into your ice cream.

Seriously, America... WE HAVE ISSUES.
