In case you've been hiding somewhere and haven't heard, my station is putting on our first summer show- the HOT Summer Fiasco! Featuring: Carly Rae Jepsen, Icona Pop, Cher Lloyd, MKTO, Nikki Williams, and Classified. [OMG OMG I GET TO MEET ALL OF THEM!]

It's going down June 8, and yesterday we went out to the venue to plan out some details and shoot some video for between the acts. FYI: It's the coolest venue I've ever been to. It's an intimate pavilion that doesn't have a bad seat [everything's close to the stage!], and it's right on the water.

Anyway, we wanted to share our excitement with the world, so we went around to different places in Hampton Roads and got all up in people's faces. [I also got yelled at in K-Mart, and almost got a ticket for being in the middle of the street, so....]


Also- probably the most unpleasant Chick-fil-A workers ever, right?! Heyzeus, girlfrand. Live a little!

I'm really excited for the show, but I'm like REALLY PUMPED to see other people doing this, too. Tickets aren't that expensive, but a free pair is obviously the bomb diggity. Who knows... it might even get ya a little something extra.

Pretty crazy week in pop culture, thanks to two guys' stories. No need to explain what happened because if you don't know, I'm not sure why you're visiting my blog and you should probably excuse yourself.

Since they were revealing things about their life, getting things off their chest, etc... we decided to do the same.

watch: a merry hotmess music video from us and karmin!

I am SO excited to finally have this video done and able to share with you all! This week I've been all over Hampton Roads with my coworkers shooting this music video to get ready for our holiday show, Merry Hot Mess Fest, on Monday night!

We got silly, played with Santa, completely took over McDonald Garden Center, and even got Karmin to make an appearance in the video! [They sing the song we used and are headlining our show, after all...]


Can we talk about how lost Corey is throughout the whole video? The poor guy's awkwardly hilarious and he doesn't even mean to be!

I've been trying to make a fun group video like this for a while now, so I'm very glad we could make it happen for the holidays! Hopefully it was as fun and ridiculous to watch as it was to make!

It was beyond obvious that someone was going to die at the new American Idol table as soon as they announced who'd be sitting there... I'm just surprised Mariah doesn't have the balls to fight back.

watch etv: our second day in new orleans for mardi gras

It's time to experience another day with us in New Orleans for Mardi Gras! It was our first full day there, we woke up with Red Seas [you'll see how ..awesome.. they are in the video], saw a battle of high school bands, pole danced on protesters, got up on a balcony, and of course, saw plenty more boobs.

I wanna say this was my favorite day, but how can I pick a favorite?! They were all very different but equally as nuts! Here... see for yourself!



Watching that back I'm STILL pissed at Bobby for just disappearing for HOURS and not answering his phone until he felt like it. What a dick.

watch etv: our first night in new orleans for mardi gras

After having some [insert not nice word here] threatened "legal action" when I posted the first cut of this video, we had to go through a lot of "higher ups" to get this final version approved before upload! Thankfully, we didn't have to take much out.

Anyway! I'm super excited to finally post this on here! Our first night in New Orleans was a clusterF of getting acquainted. Lotsa boobies, lotsa booze, lotsa being stoopid.



That's just a small portion of our trip! I'm going to do a video per day that we were there, so expect the next one at the beginning of next week!

my mardi gras 2012: the pics

I went for my second round of Mardi Gras in New Orleans this past weekend and died. Well, okay... I've obviously been revived now, but I was pretty dead.

Nine of us stayed in one hotel room; 3 friends from Texas, two friends from Florida, my BFF from South Carolina, Corey, Bobby Hollywood, and me. We also met up with the two listeners that won the trip: Stephanie and Colleen!

There are well over 300 pictures and videos, so I figured I'd get up the pictures ASAP so you can occupy yourself while I edit the videos together.

And we did in fact make it back for the party in Virginia Beach on Fat Tuesday! AND I got my face painted!

Thank GOODNESS Bobby made it back! His phone died before we left and wasn't on our flight. It was awful. Luckily we had most of his stuff with us, and he made friends with a stranger who helped him get another flight home.


As for my outfits, last year I went very normal. This year I wanted sparkles and colors! I wore sparkly skirts from Forever 21 that each cost less than 15$, bright tights for under $5 each, and older shirts I found in my drawer. One was really slutty and completely open in the front [from my college days], so it was perfect. Luckily the beads do most of the work on top outfit-wise though. I also had bright pink jeans for about $12, and a sparkly shirt for under $15 as well. All from Forever, and not ashamed to admit it.

If you're ever having to plan a NoLA Mardi Gras outfit, you should know that rain boots are a MUST. The streets are nasty. You'll see in the Facebook pics. I got mine from Old Navy!

Now the countdown for next year begins. Our boss already okay'd it and even said he'd help us get a balcony. Hell yes.

watch: chiddy bang came to the studio to freestyle while eating breakfast

Remember when Chiddy Bang came to College Station and I drunkenly talked to them and had them freestyle? Yeah, neither did they until I showed them this awful, hott mess of a picture:

Anyway, they came in the studio and with a little more preparation, we got more creative with the challenge we had for them. Since they sent us cereal boxes to represent their upcoming album "Breakfast," we made them freestyle while eating Chiddy Bangs cereal!



They were an absolute BLAST this time. We had too much fun just hangin' around the studio before and after the filming/interviews, talking about Texas, boobs, and crazy guys showing up at other radio stations.
When they left, they told us we had been the most fun radio interview they've ever had thanks to our different challenge and because we're simply a party.

we're going to mardi gras!

We officially announced this last Friday, but I'm so excited to share all the details and really get ready for this!

After my trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras last year was tornadoed out, I promised myself I'd go back again this year.
When I say I'm gonna do something, I do it.

I got with my coworkers who also wanted to go, ambushed my boss with an idea to get us all to go, and now we're going!

In fact, not only are the three of us going, we're bringing two listeners with us! AND! When we're coming back on Fat Tuesday to throw an EPIC party here in Virginia Beach with all the goodies, lessons, and stories of death we bring back from NoLA!

In order to get it okay'd, we promised to constantly tweet, post on Facebook, and call in to the station while we're there, and to put together fabulous show-all videos when we get back. Sooo... get ready to see me get wild. [Sorry, Mom!]

Because I actually had a major role in putting this whole thing together, I'm even more excited and proud!

Anyway, here's a quick, silly, random video we put together for the promotion! Obvi I had to show the boys how it's done.



We're picking qualifiers for the trip all this week, then picking a final winner on Friday! Ahhh!

pics: i got a new photoshoot!

It's been a WHILE since I had a photoshoot done, and considering the move altered by body in unflattering ways, I was hoping it'd still be another while.

BUT, the station was in need of an update when it comes to our pictures on the website. Half of us don't look anything like what our picture does anymore.

So I called on my cousin, Paige Engel, to come take some pics! Here are some of the best she got of me in the studio:

Obviously I had to "spice" it up by getting on the desk/table/whatever you wanna call it. Beyond that, I'm surprised I smiled so much. That normally doesn't happen.

i spy: the 1st annual santacon at virginia beach

I first heard of the NYC SantaCon from my fellow MTV TJ friends, then saw there was a fun bar crawl in DC, and then went into depression because I'd be missing out. THEN... we found out Virginia Beach was popping its SantaCon cherry this year!

I didn't know what to expect since it was the first one for the area, but considering it was mostly promoted solely though Facebook, it was pretty damn good! I'd say there was a solid 70+ people strolling through the Oceanfront all afternoon. Though I only made it to about 5 bars between 3-7pm thanks to having to work, they went at least 3 hours longer than me.

Everyone was super rowdy and obnoxious, just the way you should be during the holidays on a Saturday afternoon. Every couple of minutes the group would chant anything from "HO! HO! HO! HO!" to "When I say Santa, You say HO!" And everything in-between. It was one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a while.

As for the costumes, most people were in fact dressed like Santa, but there was also a solid Jack Frost, some elves, and the less prepared like me- ugly Christmas sweaters. The most prominent: Men wearing spandex body suits with added accessories like hanging bells from their balls. Yes.
