you know you're old when...

As much as I claim to still feel and act like I'm 22, there have been recent moments that prove otherwise.

Most of the moments involve happy tears.

I was always the bitch of a daughter who made fun of my mom every time her eyes watered up while watching some happy show or movie. I didn't get it. How could she start bawling over something so good and exciting?!

Karma is the true bitch.

Ever since getting this job, I'm an emotional wreck every time I see someone's dreams coming true. I cried every time someone congratulated me. My boss wondered WTF was wrong with me when she came into my office seconds after I first watched Carlton on American Idol. My eyes were swollen after a these two speeches last night:

The semi-ridiculous part: I even had a dream that III won an Oscar, and was able to get up on stage and just tell everyone else how inspiring they are to me.

Some of my dreams have come true, and maybe it's because I know the feeling and the excitement that makes me so happy... but I really just had a taste of that excitement and now I want so much more of it! AND I want everyone to get a lick of it.

Did you watch E!s red carpet before the show? SO many actors and producers and big names kept telling Seacrest how good he was at what he does. On live TV. In front of the world. They took the time to interrupt talking about themselves to compliment him. That was also an incredible thing to watch, and yes, made my stomach drop and eyes well up for him.

Am I becoming a mush? I'd like to think not [and I'd never admit it if I was], but I guess everyone has a weakness!

Have you had something happen or go on that makes you feel old? Let's joke about it together so we feel ridiculous and young forever.

the american music awards: then and now

The American Music Awards last night spent some time reminiscing on "the good ol' days" throughout the show, but now it's time to see more. I wanted to compare last night's sights with those of the past.

Boy band performances... NSYNC in 2000 vs. The Wanted in 2012

Dirrty Christina in 2003 vs. last night

Cyndi Lauper in 1985 and 2012

Gloria Estefan rockin the stage in 1988, and the carpet in 2012.

Rappers on the red carpet... Snoop Dogg in 1998 and Luda returning in 2012

Jenny McCarthy co-hosted the show in 2003! And molested Justin Bieber last night.

In 1992, Boys II Men won the R&B/Soul award... while Usher [drunkenly] accepted it last night.

In 2003, Pink took the stage with an acoustic version of "Trouble..."

And last night she killed it with her "Try" performance...

And just for fun, here's what Britney Spears looked like in 2003, just two years after rocking that denim look with Justin Timberlake.

Last night's show was pretty good, I'm not going to act like I hated it. I was a tweeting machine most of the night, so you can see how I felt about it there...

Yay awards season! Judging people is fun.

wardrobe malfunction!: sofia vergara bares her butt

The sexiest woman on TV showed off why she's got that title during the Emmy's last night.

No, not just on the red carpet in that awesome dress.

She also had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction when her dress split 20 minutes before Modern Family accepted their award... and she had no problem sharing it with the world.

And that moment made boys everywhere need to change their pants or hide under their desk a little more.

Like I've always said [especially when it happened to me], if something embarrassing happens to you, show it off to the world and laugh about it in unison.... or drool, if you got an ass like hers.

watch/read: justin bieber asks hampton roads' cady eimer to be his date

I got the honor of being able to follow the rest of Cady's journey of asking Justin Bieber to prom after I asked him about her during my interview.

It was an incredibly exciting ride as her mom heard from Scooter, told me all of the plans, and we worked out all of the details on "this side" of the plan. Justin sent a video to her mom that I got to present at her prom tonight. He was sorry he couldn't be there at prom, but there was much, much bigger news.

Here is the full video from the Biebs:

And here is what we aired on the station immediately after we broke the news at prom:

It was incredibly amazing to watch everything unfold. I don't think it's even hit her yet, but it will in a few hours when she's on a plane to Vegas and about to get her hair and make-up done. The girl has put a LOT of work into trying to get his attention for over a year.. and that deserves the attention and opportunity she's about to have.

Cady trended worldwide on Twitter tonight, and these are just some of the things people were saying:

Again, congrats to you, Miss Cady. Have a freakin blast! And to her mom, thanks for trusting me and allowing me to be a part of such a HUGE moment. I'll never forget tonight for the rest of my life, that's for damn sure.

PS UPDATE: Here are some more pics! I am absolutely in love with these that her family friend took at the prom. It shows everyone's laughs and then pure shock the moment Justin shares what's going on:

And here are some from the big night, AT the awards:

what i think about the grammy awards' red carpet, and rick ross' v-neck

Because I tweeted damn near 50 times last night during the Grammy's [or so it seems], I'm not going to tell you everything I thought. You can go look if you'd like.

BUT... I didn't get to talk about the red carpet, and we obviously need to.

Here's what I loved, hands down:

She can do NO wrong, and she's channeling her inner Faith Hill, which is a pretty great decision.

Another reason Kelly Rowland deserves more credit in the music industry. Beautiful.

NEVER thought I'd put Paris in a category of looking good at the Grammy's, but homegirl did it right. I hope that doesn't mean her album will be good. I don't think I could support that.

Nothing bad to say about this lady... even when there's snot coming out of her nose.

Hate the hair, but look at that body! Damn gurl.

These actually leave me a little undecided on my feelings:

I kinda wanna put this in the "good" pile, but I won't. A lot of people HATED her for wearing bebe on the red carpet, but like she said- it's her. Plus, I thought she looked rather pretty.

Sure, it's an ugly outfit, but she's not dressing like a man, and if you take off that netting, her face is actually pretty. I commend her for not being an attention whore.

T-Swift and Gaga in this category! Can you believe it?! I think this dress had potential. It's pretty, and I do enjoy the heart at the chest. I think she had great hair for it, too... but where the f are her boobs?! Plus, it's Taylor.

Alicia Keys rarely looks bad, but I'm hating this hair on her. Swizz Beats and that purple velour jacket- I'm kinda in love with it. Not everyone can pull that off.

And these are just stupid decisions:

Miss Linda Ramone. She's like part Ashley Olsen, part Reba, part Zenon, part saggier boobs than Betty White.

As I said last night, it's like her main focus is outdoing Lady Gaga these days. She had to make some weird red carpet entrance that tied into her performance just like the egg, but no one liked it. It was stupid and rather pointless. Leave the pope outta this.

I'm sorry... is that a doily, Fergie? Did you get this as a DIY idea on Pinterest?

I coulda let the dress slide, Robyn... then you had to wear the platform Tim's.

I've been saying that Katy is so pretty she can pull off the blue hair, but not this time. The roots showing is tacky. The blue on blue is not a good look.. and the style of her dress makes her look a bit larger, am I right?

But THIS.... is the best outfit I saw all night.

RICK ROSS. IN A V-NECK. And that pose! Stop it and get out of town. I haven't giggled so hard at an outfit in a long time.

Overall, it was a decent show. I'm not mad about Adele winning so much, especially after she thanked radio. Not many pop stars will do that. The only thing I ask for next year: A little less "reminiscing" on the music from 40 years ago. Bring back the 90s music for reminiscing purposes, kthanks.

because you want to know: the best/worst of the mtv movie awards' red carpet

One of the things I love about MTV awards shows is the fashion. It's a little less formal than others, and people show their personality more.

The red carpet for last night's MTV Movie Awards was actually rather lame, but some stood out enough to make my best and worst dressed!

As for the best:

Love them both, and they look classic pretty.

Can I please have Kayla Ewell's dress as my birthday suit for this weekend?! Kthanks. Sparkles + pretty legs= win, duh.

I hate Harry Potter, but both Emma's looked great!

Sure, Josh Duhamel has always been kinda hott, but last night I was all HEYBOYHEYYY! Romeo looked snazzy with the all white top and hipster glasses. Diggin' it.

As for THE best- I LOVED Mila Kunis. I want this outfit NOW. It's pretty simple for a red carpet, but it's fantastic. That is all.

And the mistakes:

Brooklyn Decker's sparkles are way too much and apparently Jessica Szohr had nothing better to wear than curtains.

Amanda Bynes- WHAT are those shoes?! Way too much. She also had a nasty look on her face after losing the best one-liner award.. That wasn't cute. As for Lil Mama- we don't need to say anything.

I normally love Selena Gomez's outfits, but this one is just weird to me. I don't get it. As for Nikki Reed- not only was her dress ugly, but the whole engagement to Paul McDonald months after he didn't even know who she was is kinda tacky.

Trey Songz is one of my top sexy men in life, but that scarf has got to go, and his smile has got to come back. As for Reese Witherspoon- Am I the only one who thought she just looked and acted like a hott mess last night? A little reminiscent of Britney in all the bad ways.

As for other notables:

The Real World: Las Vegas cast were lookin' like pros! I wish Dustin would have tied his tie, but the matching with him and Heather is awfully cute. And Adam- Dang boy. If only you weren't a drunken hott mess all the time... the things I'd do to you....

MTV hosts looking dapper as always! JC and Kevin Manno sporting the tighter outfits that I'm not complaining about, and Lenay Dunn's dress was very "prom," but it was pretty!

Of course, I'm no fashion expert or anything, and this is just my opinion, but who else's opinion counts? Pfft. No one's.
