tunes on tuesday 113010

I'm sorry I'm late with this! I hope you weren't cooped up in a ball waiting by your computer and psychotically rocking back and forth until I posted this.

Let's get to it! There's LOTS to share this week!

Christina Aguilera--> Show Me How You Burlesque

I love that Christina's powerful voice is back in my life but I'm not gonna lie... I don't see the radio blasting this single.

Christina Perri--> Jar of Hearts

You should probably prepare yourself to hear this on the radio ASAP. I think it's a pretty song, though. I won't complain. It's a little dark and sad, but her voice is enjoyable.

Keri Hilson ft. Lil Wayne--> Pretty Girl Rock

She performed this [without Wayne, of course] at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. It's got a really catchy beat, and with the Wayne boost- you can expect to hear this on the reg.

Neon Trees--> 1983

It's not my favorite song, but I know how well "Animal" did, so I'm assuming this will do just as well in the pop world. I think I'll probably just ignore it.

Rick Ross ft. Drake and Chrisette Michele

Considering I'm not a huge fan of Rick Ross/Drake, you'd think I'm not going to be a HUGE fan of this song. It's really not bad, though. I like the beat. It's got an old school feel to it, and that's fun.

Bow Wow ft. Chris Brown--> Ain't Thinkin About You

That's a fun video to look at, ladies. Just sayin'. And call me crazy, but I'm rooting for Bow Wow to come back huge. I like this song. I do. I said it.

Nicki Minaj ft. Drake--> Moment 4 Life

"I believe life is a prize, but to live doesn't mean you're alive." That quick line got me. A lot of people have been talkin' about her awesome lyrics throughout her album, and this is just new example #1, I guess. Definitely listen to it. It's a new sound.

Andy Grammer--> Keep Your Head Up

Another cheesy song that has a catchy beat and sound. It reminds me a lot of Tim Halperin. The video is fun, too. I really want to know how you feel about this one. I hope I'm not alone in diggin' it.

Lil Wayne ft. Drake--> Right Above it

Question: How many songs that feature Drake can be released in one week? This is your typical Weezy song. If you're a Weezy fan, you'll like this.

Cher--> You Haven't Seen the Last of Me

Oh no, Cher. I hope to see you again but I really don't want to hear anymore. This is bad. Cher's voice is a thing we respect in the past.. not the present.

Kanye ft. Jay Z and La Roux--> That's My Bitch

Should it surprise you he would do a song like this? It shouldn't. It's pretty cool that someone featured La Roux, though. I'm hoping the beat isn't as strong in the CD version. It's a bit much for me on YouTube.

Jason Aldean ft. Kelly Clarkson--> Don't You Wanna Stay

Kelly Clarkson adds a nice touch with his voice. They compliment each other well. It's a good song. LOVE the lyrics. Love it all, really.

Brad Paisley--> This is Country Music
He's just so "clever" lately. Part of me is so sick and part of me loves it. I'm torn.

Little Big Town--> Kiss Goodbye
I enjoy LBT. I'm not CRAZY about this song, but I think it'll grow on me with time and I'll change my mind.

Whew. That's a lot of new music. It's practically an entire CD set. What do you want more of?

Enjoy!

watch: bruno mars parody- "only from afar

You've probably heard Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are" a few too many times at this point, but I'm just now hearing/seeing this hilarious parody, all about drunk goggles and thinking someone's hott... from far away.

The chorus and the "cute-from-afar" guy are flippin' hilarious. Some people are just really clever. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

watch: two reasons why drugs are bad... but hilarious

Okay, seriousy... Drugs are bad. Don't do them. They're illegal. No one should do anything illegal. Ever.

Now that we've gotten that outta the way.... be prepared to laugh.

This guy apparently thinks it feels good and safe to roll his lard around in the middle of the road... in the middle of the day.

And this chic apparently thinks that she's the only one in the pool... Unless she thinks a synchronized swimming team is with her somewhere.

Both of those seriously had me shedding tears from laughing so hard. Imagine it being your friend. Now you're laughing harder, huh?

REMEMBER, KIDS: D.A.R.E. taught us to say NO!

Unless of course you're saying YES to YOUTUBE!

exclusive interview: ben nemtin from mtv's the buried life

Tonight is the finale of Season 2 of "The Buried Life" on MTV, which I think has been one of the shows to bring MTV's programming back up to greatness.

If you haven't seen it, four guys have made a bucket list of things to do before they die and are completing the most bizarre things without any help from MTV.

I was REALLY excited to talk to Ben, who seems to be the head of this whole "project," and ask him about everything from how it all started, what's been the biggest or most surprising accomplishment, and how he can help me with my list.
"When we do the show, we make sure we don't ask any favors of them because for us, we wanna prove that regular people can do these things, and we want to be like you and your friends going out and what would you do? That keeps the show grounded."

Tonight's episode features #75: Make a million dollars. I don't know that the usual person could do that overnight the way they did, but it sure would be interesting to try.

He was a really cool guy [mostly because of how he said he'd help me with my list] so I advise you to listen to the entire thing, duh.

YES!!!! I've FINALLY found my Sugar Daddy! And maybe now all of these repetitive dreams of meeting Britney Spears will come true.

Thank you, Ben... for officially becoming my hero and money supply. I'll send my address right away.

90s madness update 112910

Because last week was so short and lazy, there's no point in doing a "Best of" post today.

But with us down to the Final Four in 90s Madness, I absolutely have to share with you the updated bracket:

For me, the most upsets happened in the Elite Eight, and I'm not too happy about it. It should be NSYNC, Lisa Frank, and Beenie Babies, I think.

We'll have a winner on Thursday, and hopefully an announcement that will help in the celebration of it being over! *Fingers crossed.*

pre-thanksgiving hangover 112410

It's the day before Thanksgiving, we all have to be at work, but we have nothing on our mind besides tomorrow's food, a few days off, and how the hell we're going to get everything ready in time. [Especially if it's your first time cooking dinner, like me! I'm a big girl now!]

So let's waste some time with the internet, shall we?

Thanksgiving themed-

Random awesomeness-
Have a FANTASTIC holiday and I will talk to you on Monday!

meet pua, the pet anteater

Now this is nothing I ever imagined having as a pet, and I'm still rather unsure about it, but Pua the anteater is pretty cute.

Whoever the owner is has started a blog about it all, of course. I wondered what the personality might be like, and if you're like me, watch these videos-

And then there's that time it drank champagne:

SO WEIRD!!!! It seems relatively lame, to be honest. Cool for a minute, but ultimately lame and just cute to look at.

I'll stick with Slutty Cat, thanks.

pic of the month: buzz lightyear is happy to see you

I have no purpose in posting this besides to give you an inappropriate giggle.

Now imagine a 4 year old boy drinking out of that.

Oh boy.

listen/download: angelina's new single "i'm hot"

I know it's Tunes on Tuesday, and that's where I normally debut the new music, but I'd rather not mix in terribly bad, hilarious songs.

So, right now, I present to you the Jersey Shore's Angelina with her new single- "I'm Hot."

GoodNESS I hope she doesn't genuinely expect people to play that anywhere. She's joking, right? She's laughing with us! ...No? She's not? She's like Heidi Montag?

Schedule the plastic surgery and bankruptcy meeting, we got ourselves a fame whore.

watch: mean girls 2 trailer

Before you go researching this movie to see if it's real or not, let me save you the trouble. It's real.

Mean Girls does in fact have sequel coming to our lives in February... via DVD. Don't expect it to be anywhere near a theater.

As terrible as I'm sure this will be, something about it has me intrigued and wanting to watch.

Yeah... It's going to be bad. I wonder how long until it's on ABC Family?! That's when I shamelessly watch the terribly bad sequel movies.

because you care: the 2010 american music awards [with videos]

The 2010 American Music Awards were last night and I tried not to tweet too much so that I could share it all here, but based on my followers dropping like flies, I'd say I failed in that mission.

Oh well. I don't care! And I'm still going to share everything that I think is worth your time [as quickly as possible] right now.

First of all- Mike Manning, from Real World DC, hosted part of the Coca Cola Red Carpet! It was on Ustream so I don't have a video, but I gotta congratulate him! SO pumped he's making a GOOD name for himself after the show!

Now, onto the show-

The opening act: Rihanna

When it opened and she was singing "Love the Way You Lie Part 2," I got excited. I thought she was going to put on a killer performance. Then, she started "singing" more. She reminded me of Britney Spears at the 2007 VMA's. It was disconnected and rather effortless... completely disappointing.

The Awards:
  • Lady Antebellum were nominated for Pop/Rock AND Country Group of the Year. Is that weird to anyone else? Shouldn't they only be in the Country category? They won Country Group of the Year, though, so YAY for them!
  • Will.i.am accepted the Black Eyed Peas' award for Pop/Rock Group of the Year with a pretty sweet lego hat on. I gave two thumbs up.
  • Justin Bieber pretty much kicked everyone's ass. Breakthrough Artist, Pop/Rock Male, and Artist of the Year all went to him, and I can't even be mad about it. Have you turned on your radio this year? He's everywhere, and he's running the show, period.
  • That being said, he thanked Michael Jackson in the most bizarre way a 16 year old could- "Without Michael Jackson, none of us would be here." I mean that's just not true. We'd be here, Justin Bieber... but you might not be as fly.
  • He also brought Usher on stage with him to accept his Artist of the Year award and you have to admit- it was freakin' precious. I got goosebumps, and may have teared up a bit. Don't judge.

The performances

Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull took the stage after an awesome intro from Rico Rodriguez and Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family, but I'll be honest- it's not worth your time. It wasn't anything worth talking about.

Miley Cyrus was right after him with "Forgiveness and Love" and I think she's the one performance I'm not sure how I feel about it. It wasn't OMG SO GREAT, but the lyrics were pretty good. A little pitchy, but who wasn't last night? At least she wasn't pole dancing or ripping her [emo-styled] clothes off.

Diddy/Dirty Money performed for some odd reason. I assume he forked out a ton of money to get on that stage to have everyone say "Who cares?" It's obvious the girls are just his sex slaves and know they can't make too much of themselves to take away from Diddy's shine. It's a shame, really. Dawn could do better than working for Diddy. Diddy can't put on a show like he used to. I won't waste your time with this train wreck.

Kid Rock has been performing his ass off at all of the recent awards shows, and a lot of people don't like it, but homeboy was the first one to take the stage and actually sound halfway decent. I don't care how much his music has changed and how "Country" he may be now, I didn't mind it.

I'm not feelin' the Black Eyed Peas' new song "The Time." I like the sampling, but it's just too much. They put on a good, outrageous show, but I still don't see it being something everyone remembers. You be the judge-

Katy Perry just not sing live. I loved the choir beginning [even though most people were pretty anti-it] and the fireworks were obviously pretty awesome, but she was not. Watch if you want to see the proof,

Willow Smith intoduced Justin Bieber from her tippy toes, and he as of this moment in the show, he was the best to take the stage [the only one who could argue would be Kid Rock, in my opinion]. He had a few pretty epic voice cracks, but it just added a little flavor!

Bon Jovi was a refreshing touch vocally, but ya gotta admit- it was like watching any of the past few Super Bowl halftimes. It was cool, but it wasn't nearly as epic as it could have been. Don't bother.

Pink had one of the best, if not the best, performances of the night. The girl is pregnant and rockin' a show hard core. The performers all around her were amazing! Just... watch it.

I love a good, fly Ne-Yo performance, and I even like his new song, but they're getting to be a little typical for me. Even though they practically had sex on my TV, I'd say skip it.

Do I need to comment on Taylor Swift? Besides her uber-straight hair and bangs, it was exactly what she's done every other time you've seen her sing live. It was off-key and boring.

Christina Aguilera showed her goodies that we've missed so dearly performed a song from Burlesque. She looked a little hefty if you ask me, but what can you expect from a girl who's coming back to the scene full forced?! Wait.. you mean.. she's supposed to be hott in such a movie?! Well, you tell me- Did she pull the performance off? I'd say if people are gonna give BritBrit a hard time about any of her performances, you can absolutely hark on Xtina, who didn't sing like we remember. She also didn't even look remotely attractive. [Audio is not right, but it's the best working that I could find.]

Time has changed our beloved Usher's live performances. Or maybe it's just the opposite. His performance wasn't much different than the one he did for the VMA's. His vocals were pretty shot, and it was obvious he's getting a little old and tired. I love him, but it's the facts of life- his "best performing artist" rep is dwindling. You can skip this one.

Train couldn't have looked happier to be on that stage. Lead singer Patrick couldn't stop smiling and DANG. Those glitter pants were something serious. Because it'll make you smile too, I say ya watch it-

Ke$ha started out very odd and auto-tuned, but I'm pretty sure she was singing throughout her performance. She definitely used a lot of back-up vocals, but you could hear her real voice, and it wasn't terrible! She's an interesting character with an interesting show, and a hilarious "auto-tune" machine at the beginning-

Gavin Rossdale and Santana were just plain boring, I'm sorry. My ADD couldn't watch the whole thing, so neither will you.

The closing performance: NKOTBSB- New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys

Epic. Epic, epic, epic. That actually doesn't even describe it. This performance made me cry real tears. They were by no means at the height of their talent, but like Toby Knapp said, nostalgia is a drug, and seeing two of the biggest boy bands on stage, together, singing their classic songs, and doing the typical boy band dances was something we haven't seen in much too long. Without this performance, the 2010 AMA's would have been forgettable. Now we'll remember it forever.

It was like they were trying to bring back a lot of things from the 90s, or maybe a lot of the 90s people we love are coming back on their own in a big way, and I loved the effort. Sadly, the performances weren't as good and the music just isn't the same as it was back then.

Thanks for trying, AMA's, but without that ending, it would have been remembered as "The American Pitchy-Music Awards."

exclusive interview: jonny moseley from skating with the stars and mtv's challenges

Dancing With the Stars is about to get better- by adding skates.

On Monday "Skating With the Stars" premieres with Bethenny Frankel, Sean Young, Vince Neil, Rebecca Budig, Brandon Smith, and my interview subject of the day: Jonny Moseley.

You might know him from the 1998 Olympics where he won the gold medal for skiing. You probably saw him host 3 of the Real World/Road Rules Challenges before TJ Lavin took over.

I had to ask him the obvious questions: Who his biggest competition is, what kind of tricks we can expect, and how hard it will be. I also asked who might be the Bristol Palin of the show.

Surprisingly, his answer was HIMSELF!

I also had to ask him about the Challenges and what he misses most. One thing he had to say:
"I miss it. I kinda made a rash decision. I was a TV rookie and kind of got bored of standing around all day waiting for them to do the challenges, but turns out that's what TV is."

He also said why he wishes he was still involved, but for all the answers, you're going to have to listen to the full interview:

He was easily one of my favorite people to interview... Ever. We really vibed right off the bat, which you could tell kinda caught me off guard at first, but he's a really down to Earth guy which makes an interview go a lot better.

Be ready to watch the show Monday! I'm excited to see what kinda hurt they put themselves through. This isn't dancing... this is SKATING.

And maybe, just maybe, if TJ Lavin can't come back to the Challenge, maybe Jonny can come back into our lives.

on the racks: khloe and lamar do people's holiday issue

It may not be on the racks yet, but it will be soon... and thanks to the Kardashian's loving to blog, we've got a sneak preview of People's Holiday issue which will feature Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom on the cover.

I've always questioned their relationship and been waiting for the day that they break up, but to be honest- I think each episode and picture that I see pushes my "estimated date" back a little further. They're actually pretty darn cute together.

Apparently they're going to share all of their decorations and holiday spirit in the magazine:

I definitely think Khloe received the extreme short end of the stick when it comes to attractiveness in the Kardashian family, but there's something about her and Lamar being all happy together that makes her a little more attractive.

Okay. Now I need to barf.. I'm being entirely too nice to a Kardashian. [And NO, it's NOT because of the hate mail I got today.]

I'm interested to see how the article is. That's when I'll really decide how I feel about them once and for all. [/for a couple weeks..]

And while we're on the topic of the Kardashian clan- have you seen the pictures of Khloe, Kendall and Kylie at the Burlesque premiere?!

Kendall is gorgeous! Kylie's got something weird going on with her smile, but they seem to have gotten the good genes!

Now if they can find a happy medium between the scary skinny that they are and the too-much-goodies of their older sisters within the next 4 years [when Kendall's 18], we might have to countdown to their legality.
