exclusive interview: lfo plays truth or dare AND their new song!

A couple months ago I got an email from a "Brad" saying he was a fellow 90s loving and fanny pack wearing freak. Turns out, it was BRAD FROM FREAKING LFO.

LFO= one of the few albums that I'd say defined my life. I know every word to it. I was effing pumped to get this email.

He said he was coming to town and wanted to come in to the studio and all I could say was HELL YES.

Fast forward to today and they came! Brad and Devin joined me in our Southwest Soundstage to chat, play Truth or Dare Jenga, and play their new song. Then they surprised me by challenging me to sing every word to "Summer Girls.." IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM. I immediately turned 14 again, blushed the whole time, and freaked the freak out.

The full video is below, but here are some highlights:
  • 2:50 - What they've been up to since we last heard from them [hint: family time and Devin crashing in Brad's house]
  • 4:35 - How they continue on without Rich and honor him on their tour [Rich In Love]
  • 14:15 - Brad prank calls a girl who was on her way, but running late
  • 16:10 - The main thing that's different this time around... they have important things to say
  • 19:25 - Their new song Perfect 10
  • 23:00 - They make me prove that I know all the words to Summer Girls, which I.... well... I TRIED OKAY!

Talking to people that I never even DREAMED of having the chance to meet will never get old... or normal. I kept telling them that it felt surreal, even if "the main guy" wasn't there. Now I can forgive my mom for not paying hundreds of dollars for me to see them way back when. She thanks you for that, LFO.

video: truth or dare with sabrina carpenter

It seems like it was a year ago that we found out Girl Meets World was a thing and I started a very enthusiastic countdown... but now it's coming to an end after three too short seasons.

I'm glad that before it comes to an end, I was able to talk to Sabrina Carpenter about the impact of the original show, and the truths of the new cast.

In the best version of Truth or Dare, she has to answer questions about her cast, and if she doesn't- complete a dare.

To be honest, I'm surprised it was such a simple, silly question that made her go for the dare! Maybe she was just intrigued.

And as for Sabrina herself- she's a star... and just like all the current Disney stars, she has multiple talents and is an incredible singer. Beyond talent, she's humble, smart, genuine, and basically everything great that I can say about an artist besides "knows how to drink" because she's too young for that. She's not gonna disappear, that's for sure.

If you wanna see more of a formal interview, she sat down with Toby Knapp in the studio.

Now.... can we maybe stop with all of the shows coming back? GMW did it right, but now we're all heartbroken again. Fuller House is good.... but we don't need to be doing all this other nonsense.

Whoa, never thought I'd say all that.

exclusive interview: b.o.b is my new favorite

When people ask me my favorite interview of all time, it's always been Trey Songz. Hands down. Duh.

There have been some solid interviews and games of Truth or Dare since then, but Trey Songz did something special to me.

Now... he may have been outdone. B.o.B came in last week. I've always liked his music and wish there was more... and after stalking his social media I knew we could be great friends if he let it happen.

All it took was a mention about bitches being crazy and I knew it was going to be a good time. [When he sits down at the :40 mark]

It was just a good time. It was like two immediate friends. I was really into it.

Then my favorite part of every interview: Truth or Dare. I've been waiting to dare a rapper to suck helium and spit something, and I knew he'd be down. Enter Spongebob and his "juices". [And enter my underwear that sluttily hangs out and looks gross.]

Honestly, I keep watching them because I think he's so funny. Hopefully I'm not just little schoolgirl giddy.

We talked even more about Thanksgiving, Black Friday and other random fun nonsense, so it's all down here if it's easier for you to download/listen in the car!

truth or dare: with becky g!

It's been a little while since I've been able to plan a whole lot of fun with an artist who came into the studio... I was really pumped to get creative with Becky G.

She's been in here before so I knew she'd be down for just about anything. I grabbed some necessary props [lipstick and marshmallows] and we had a lot of fun!

Also.... I learned that I need to figure out how to beatbox.

I felt like I was just playing a round with a good friend... I love that feeling! So thanks to Becky G for being great [and super cute]!

watch: would you rather with ajr

AJR [they have the "I'm Ready" song with a Spongebob drop] was in the studio a couple months ago and we did the usual Truth or Dare, with one of the truths being a really difficult would you rather question.

They made a video of what it's like to be them, and included me/the game in there! [Skip to about 1:40 to see them at the station.]

Being included in a highlight like that is so exciting! I feel like a real life radio peep or something.

Honestly, I think the most fascinating conversation I had with them was a couple weeks later at a NOW 105 event in Virginia Beach. The youngest one is still going to high school, but at a specialty school where special people go. [Kids of famous people, singers and actors on the rise like him, olympians, and apparently even a professional racer.] He said just like every school- there are cliques and people more popular than others... it's just crazy that those schools really do exist.

Thanks to them for poppin' the question in there and playing along!

etv: truth or dare with rixton

It's a crazy busy time in the studios this month! Lots of people coming by and hopefully I'll be able to quickly share everything with you!

Rixton came in the other day [they sing "Me and My Broken Heart"] and totally blew me away with their talent and just overall charisma. I didn't have much time to play with them, but we did get to do a couple truth or dares.

A cover of "Old McDonald," an impression of their friend Ed Sheeran, and who they'd rather have join the group- Bieber or Kanye... are some of the highlights.

Check out their performances! I was a little disappointed they didn't do their cover of "Ignition Remix" but I'll let it slide this time.

Also, our 1-2-3-pose picture was one of the most ridiculous I've ever taken.. if not THE most ridic.

Sometimes artists come in and you think the same of them. Sometimes you're disappointed... but after meeting these guys, I'm definitely rooting for them more than before.

truth or dare with magic!

Ya know that song "Rude?!" Well, the four guys who bring us that go by the name MAGIC! and stopped in the studio for an interview and Truth or Dare.

I had to thank them for being responsible for the resurgence of boy bands [seriously, it's all thanks to the lead singer Nazri], and I've decided to bring up the bullied past of artists because I think it's something they all go through growing up and even today.

There was no need to ask if the song was about a true story, they let me know that it wasn't as soon as they walked in the room and introduced themselves. They were very adamant about avoiding questions other people have asked.

Then we did a pretty quick Truth or Dare. I REALLY need to come up with some new ideas for these. I tend to think of things relating to the band/artist specifically, but I think I should start getting more random. Still, it's hilarious to see the duet every time.

[Sorry about the quality. We were working with different equipment and to be honest, it's the reason I took a couple weeks to get this up. but... I spent time kinda editing it, so might as well share it, right?!]

If you have any idea for a good dare for upcoming artists, holler at a girl!

eTV: truth or dare with 5 seconds of summer

I finally found [or re-found, really..] something that seems to work and be fun and be "me" when it comes to visits from artists... a little Truth or Dare, duh!

Way back in the day, I played it with Raini and Rico Rodriguez [of Austin and Aly/Modern Family]... but now I've started doing it with the groups that come in while also getting their fans involved.

Yesterday we had 5 Seconds of Summer. They toured with One Direction and that's the same kinda fanbase they have. Imagine screaming girls showing up at 7am for a 3:00 event, then chasing the black cars into a major roadway or jumping into moving cars to chase them that way. Yeah. It's crazier than any stalking that I've done.

Watch as the guys have to do impressions of celebs, sing duets with listeners, and try to dodge truth questions like it's the okay thing to do.

It's fun, right?! I laugh a lot and die a little inside every time I watch the twerking and moonwalking... but we'll blame it on the carpet.. or... something.

Clearly I'll have to lay down some ground rules like "no trying to get out of answering a truth question, even if you can't think of one." I also wanna start getting everyone involved in picking out what the cards/options are... so start thinking!

watch etv: i challenged timeflies to face their fear of strawberries

Timeflies is a duo that's been around for a couple years making remixes and stuff [you've probably heard a bunch of them... I had em on my iPod and didn't even realize it], but now they're making their own stuff and are looking to hit the radio!

They came into the studio today and we did a group interview, but I heard Cal, the vocalist, had a fear of strawberries. Naturally, I made a plate of them and jelly... in the shape of a smiley face!

He apologized a bunch of times after this video... and I'll be honest- I'm a little upset... but guess I should let someone trust me or realize how awesome I am before I make them change their life on my video over anyone else's.

....No... eff that. MY NAME IS ELIZABETHANY! He has no excuse not to do it.

PS: They were actually pretty cool... I'm just hating on his fear.

watch etv: i made a new gangsta rap video

A couple years ago, I got dared to do a gangsta rap video. I did it in like two hours, and though it's pretty funny, I could probably put a little more effort into making a better one.

On Friday night, @Jenna_Sangria told me to make a new one for Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise."

I didn't have a hat to cut holes in for the full Coolio effect, but I did get the pigtail things... and I obviously did the video.

This song is a little more calm than anything DMX, but for serious comedic relief, make sure you watch Corey. He pulls a Britney Spears and scratches his crotch [with a gun] mid-video.

And seriously... how AMAZING does that graffiti wall look?! Especially with my new camera! [Make sure you're watching in HD!]

Jenna thinks I should do more of these... We'll see!

watch etv: completing olympic-themed dares!

Brandon and I were back at it again last week, completing the dares people submitted that were Olympics-themed!

We did synchronized "diving," belly flops, and super fast swimming... but I'll be honest- The "synchronized diving into personal space" is totally the new "Dance Dare."

How is it that we'd CLEARLY jump all up into their business, and they STILL wouldn't really notice anything going on behind them?! Yikes, this world is beyond oblivious. NONE of the "victims" ever even saw the cameras.

On a side note- I'm beyond sad the Olympics are over, but they were hella fun while they lasted, right?! Maybe we can do some Shark Week related dares or something now....

watch truth or dare etv: jumping on people's bikes, dance dares, and more

I'd like to say that summertime is "Dare Season," but I'd really love to complete dares all year long! People just seem to have solid ones when the sun is shining!

Anyway, we're completing some while "taking over the beach!" To keep the videos short, Brandon and I are only doing a couple dares at a time.

This week: More dance dares, doing yoga in awkward outfits while invading people's personal spaces, and jumping on a stranger's family bike.

It's funny because a lot of people are like "OMG WHAT DO I DO FOR A VIDEO IN THE SUMMERTIME WAHHHH" and I'm all "OMG SUMMERTIME IS THE BEST FOR VIDEOS, WE LIVE AT THE BEACH!"

Way fun. And I kinda wanna be challenged even harder. So submit some on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or even comment this post!

dare: take sexy model pics

**DISCLAIMER TO MY MOTHER, FATHER, BROTHER, GRANDPARENTS, AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS: This is one of those posts that you're going to yell at me about. This is why I tell you not to read this. If you continue reading this post, you agree that you will not lecture me, tell me I'm inappropriate, or be disgusted. Instead, you will laugh.**

A year ago I got a dare that I attempted to complete, got nervous, and put it on the back burner. While at the pool over the weekend, I told some friends about it, we drank some beers, and they helped me make it happen.

If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I'm not sexy. I can't look sexy. I can't act sexy. I can't do a sexy voice. I'm way too awkward.

SO... I decided to do what all of the sexy bathing suit models do, with a touch of EB, of course.

Models make ridiculous faces, stick out their goodies, and suck in other areas. Sometimes they make themselves wet. Sometimes they sexually put things into their mouths. They might think they're keeping it classy, but let's be real- Adding Bud Light cans to a model shot is just as classy as what they have to offer, right?!

Oh, and don't forget the hair in the face. Britney taught me that is the epitome of sexy.

So... How'd I do?!

Don't answer that.

dare completed: my british accent

I mentioned getting Truth or Dare started up again, and have accepted a couple challenges!

The first dare to be completed this summer:

I got that on Friday morning, but I was already halfway done with my show! So I decided to postpone and do today's whole show in what I hoped would be a British accent.

Never did I break character and give up, but I don't know that I was "British." Either way, hilarious and awfully awkward. Here are the breaks:

Yeah... about that.....

I have at least two more dares I plan on doing within the next few weeks, but if you have any you want to give me, let me know any way you want!

raini and rico rodriguez visit me in the studio for truth or dare!

This was probably my biggest and most favorite interview to date.

The superstars of Bryan/College Station came in studio to co-host the 90s Dance Party with me!

Who are they?! None other than Raini and Rico Rodriguez!!

Oh, those names aren't ringing a bell?! Maybe this picture will:

Rico and Raini Rodriguez-5

YES! Maya from Paul Blart: Mall Cop and MANNY From Modern Family!

We hung out for an hour and talked about what they miss when they're in LA, how they can remember me when they're there, who Raini's first kiss was, their insane knowledge of 90s music and culture, and most importantly- how to get a girl from Mr. Suave himself [Manny, duh].

Also- find out why they call themselves "The Kardashians of Texas."

Three podcasts: One of the behind-the-scenes, too much for radio chatter; one of everything we talked about on-air; and the dare I gave to Manny: Prank call my BFF to talk about their upcoming date... that she obviously doesn't know about [or know who's calling].

After we got all of the talking out of the way, it was time to get down to business: Truth or Dare.

Rico completed his dare, so I dared Raini to put on a solo karaoke show throughout the studio. In response, they dared me to do my impersonation of Gloria/Sofia Vergara.

Done and done. BUT... then I pushed it a step further and dared them to eat some crickets that we had lying around the station.

Check out how it backfired, and how well everyone completed the challenges:

I still have that awful, gagging taste in my mouth, I'm not even joking. It was pretty bad.

Honestly- it couldn't have gone better today. These kids were a BLAST and I can't wait to have them back in a few months.

And now I'm all sorts of crazy-amped for the new episode and season of Modern Family in AN HOUR!

To make the time pass quicker- check out the pictures from today:

Thanks again to the Rodriguez family and my taxi driver Eddie for making this happen!

truth or dare: supporting the redskins in texas

I told ya I was bringin' back Truth or Dare, I just needed a dare that was easy and timely for me to complete!

The latest:

I'm in Cowboys Country right now... or at least as close as I'll ever live.
...This could bring an end to my life... Y'all realize that, right?!

I made a sign and headed out to the corner of the two main roads in College Station... and prayed that I'd survive.

I was honestly surprised by the feedback, I'm not going to lie! And seeing guys reach over their girlfriends to make sure the horn was being honked was hilarious!

Thank you for not killing me, BCS. Hopefully you won't kill me when I sing Hail to the Redskins AGAIN after beating the Texans this weekend.

dare: ask for friends on my stilts on the street

I love that I was able to combine my latest dare with the current challenge!

Here's the official dare:

What I did: head out to the corner of Texas and University, probably the busiest intersection here, with the sign required.... but the other side included info about Wednesday night's show with Flawless Escape and DJ Get Low! Two of the guys (Scott and A Jae) also joined me!

Dare: COMPLETE! It was totally fun. I'd do it again. I did it for an hour, but when people stopped honking [I tweeted AND Nibs said on air to honk twice if you see me... so that I know who hearts me.] it became boring.

Now speaking of tomorrow's show, can I just say I'm UBER PUMPED?! The guys, myself, Emo Sarah, and all of the BCS has really come together and come through for me to make this a really great, free show for EVERYONE to enjoy! Here are the deets:
  • Where: The Stafford, Downtown Bryan, Texas
  • When: 10:30pm CDT Wednesday, July 14
  • What: DJ Get Low will open the show, I will emcee the entire night, and Flawless Escape will head on stage by 11:30.
  • The ENTIRE event will be broadcast LIVE on Ustream!
  • The first 10 people in the door will get autographed posters.
  • The first 50 people will get Flawless Escape's album FREE.
  • The first 100 people will get free stickers!
  • We will be raffling off a pair of tickets to see DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL at Six Flags!
It's going to be.... awesome. I may even break out my glitter skirt and nail polish for it.

Make sure you're there or tuning in! You WON'T regret it! This band gives one hell of a good show. I've seen video proof. Plus, I wanna meet you!

DARE: wear an 80s prom dress all day long

Two weeks ago I got this dare from my campaign manager and my photographer:

Of course they had to pick the day all of the MTV TJ challenges started, right?!

Anyway, I'm not one to back down from anything, so I did it! I had a coworker donate her prom dress from the 80s to me for the day, I slept in curlers, and made sure I was ready for the occasion.

Here is a variety of evidence from throughout the day:

I know... I was beautiful. Don't gotta tell me twice!!!

I wish I could have done more that day or had someone filming, but with the challenges beginning, I was glued to my computer!

Still- Dare= COMPLETE!

dare: buy something with my underwear outside my clothes

Truth or Dare with the Internet is absolutely the best thing to ever happen since stalking the Real World DC.

The latest Dare:

I told ya I'd do anything, and I'm looking at all of this as preparation for being on possibly live, national TV soon, so I did it with ease! ...Right after the BFF told me she hoped I'd end up on PeopleOfWalMart.

[YouTube sucks and copyrighted me right away again, so I had to go to Plan B. Lame.]

I wish you could see the reactions better! My videographer was trying to be discreet.

I have one of the best dares to complete tomorrow [along with the start of competition!] so keep sendin em! Just 'cuz I haven't completed yours yet, doesn't mean I won't!

DARE!: gangster rap video

YES! I was hoping my post last night would inspire some people to give me some creative, fun, doable, but challenging dares, and YOU DID!

I was so pumped when I saw this in my formspring this morning:

As soon as I tweeted it though, I got a double dare:

Crap.

I'll be honest... I was a little nervous, and wondered how the H I was going to pull it off... But I wanna be your MTV TJ dangit!!! I'll do whatever it takes!

So, my friends... Here is my completion... My epic completion, if I must say so myself.

:)

I have no idea who did this. I don't know if it was a friend or a stranger. I can't dare them back! If you wanna step up and proclaim your geniusness, do it!

Keep em coming. Seriously. Keep em entertaining and fun! Y'all ROCK. MY. LIFE. You know that, right?! K good.
