While I'm waiting for the results of today's election, I was looking back at the number one songs of this special day in years past. Let's reminisce, shall we?

I mean really, the only questionable song on that list is Creed, and we all know where that election led us.

That shall end my political talk forever.

month and a half away

Not sure if ya'll have heard or not, but they're expecting way over a million people to head to Washington, DC for the inauguration on January 20.

In fact, there will be so many people in attendance, some people around DC are renting their basements out for up to 15,000$ A NIGHT to out of towners. Northern VA basements are going for over 2,000$!!!

And if you or they are looking for something to do that day, MTV is throwing just one of the many parties you might be able to attend...

...That is, if you have volunteered somehow.

They're throwing the "Be The Change Inaugural Ball" at the Ronald Reagan and International Trade Building.. And expect "leading artists, celebrities, and government officials to attend." And as for "normal people," they're inviting people who they believe have made a change in this world.

Hmph. I kinda like the idea. Right on MTV!!

Now where's my invitation?! :)

they're already here

I've said it about 239847 times this week, but I love the "Yes We Can" song/video that Will.i.am did with a bunch of other celebrities.. I also like Nas' "Black President" and whatever else I find.

And I was wondering when a new one would come out.. Now that Barack Obama has officially been elected President.

Welp, guess none of us are going to have to wait too long. Will.i.am was already working on the video for his latest song, "It's A New Day" in Chicago.. While he was beaming to the CNN studios too.

Is it any surprise that I love it? I love when he stops to reflect, too. And, I genuinely think it has a great beat, especially to go with the meaning of the song. Meh, I've said it before, I'll say it again with no hesitation.. The man is a genius.

Don't go anywhere, though.. Common, another genius in the music world, has also leaked an Obama song.. Called "Changes."

This isn't the official video.. The official release will probably be Inauguration Day, January 20. But you can still check out the song :)



I don't love the song as much as I love Will.i.am's, but it's a good song.. Great lyrics.. Great meaning, of course. It's more of an emotional song than an uplifting one, I think. But both work, for sure. :)

Even if you're sick of the election, or sick of Diddy, it's okay, you can watch this video.

It's of him casting his vote.. But something about it is pretty funny.

Check out his face when he's in line at the very beginning. I can't quite figure out what the look is, but it's hilarious either way.

And what is this YAAAAA! he screams at the end?! Unnecessary, Diddy. Yet, I wouldn't expect anything less.

Okay, I know the election is over, and a lot of people are sick of hearing about it.. But history happened. And I personally can't get enough of it more than ever.

I'll try and get it all in one post. Maybe.. ;)


A couple things that the celebs have said:

Oh man. What a couple months.. or years?? It's been. Glad to see it all come to an end. Kinda.

Typical country song.. About bad things about to happen until, of course, someone says a prayer. But I think it's cute that Billy Ray continues to use his kids to help him out with his songs. [Trace is a part of Metro Station.] It's really not a bad song, though. And for you country fans, I think you'll enjoy it. :)


That's terrible that this is the first time I have included country. It's also terrible that this week's selection is terrible. Meh.. It was a big day.

Governator Arnold Schwartzenegger has given everyone a reason not to like Obama.. One that we haven't heard yet:

So, if you're lazy or "busy" or whatever and are debating going to vote, how about I give you a couple reasons.

Everyone likes free stuff, right?! Here's what you can get just for voting today:

• Krispy Kreme is giving out red, white, and blue star shaped doughnuts!! All you have to do is wear your "I Voted" sticker!
• Starbucks is giving out free cups of coffee! Just tell them you voted and it's yours!
• Ben & Jerry's is giving out free ice cream between 5 and 8pm tonight for all you voters!
• MTV's Rock the Vote is giving away free MP3 downloads.. as long as you promise to vote!

So who was lucky enough to get that last spot on Saturday Night Live just 3 days before the election??

Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain.

And of course, Tina Fey was back again as Sarah Palin! :)

It's pretty hysterical. The opening was a commercial of sorts on QVC, because "that's all he could afford" unlike Barack Obama's thirty minute advertisement thing on Wednesday night. They also touch on a bunch more things, of course.

The Presidential candidate realizes that Virginia is a very important swing state, and that the PeeDub is an important county.. So, he's headed back to Manassas, tomorrow night.

He'll be at the PWC Fairgrounds at 9:00.. But gates open at 5, so get there early!

And, of course it is free and no tickets are required!

If you're not going to be watching the ever so important REDSKINS VS. STEELERS game, you better get your butt over there! And tell me all about it!

SNL featured not only our favorite Sarah Palin.. I mean, Tina Fey, but also WILL FERRELL as George Dubya Bush.



Quick highlights:

• Ferrell mentions that the VP is actually more important than the Pres.
• Tina Fey talks about how her and McCain go shopping. Ha. Get it?
• Will does Bush's eyes PERFECT. I love it.

I'll be honest.. I always liked SNL, but I never watched it all that much. Ever since this whole election thing, and how great Tina Fey does, I look forward to catching the clips! Of course, they know that too, seeing as they expected their ratings to skyrocket last weekend.
