tunes on tuesday 101309

Today marks the 1 year anniversary for Tunes on Tuesday!!! How exciting, right?!? I guess I better make it a good one!

Usher--> Papers

Apparently he has a new album "Raymond vs. Raymond" in the beginning of December! I think he's back, my friends! Well, he never really left... But I fully enjoy it. Lovelovelove.

Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul and Lil Jon--> Do You Remember?

This guy is like straight out of a boy band, and I love it. Interesting mix with Sean Paul and Lil Jon, but I can imagine this being huge, especially with the teen girls.

T-Pain--> Take Your Shirt Off

It's hard for me to comprehend that it's a song with ONLY T-Pain. He's a beast, though... Anything he does is good.

Jada--> Break-up Song

I posted a song called "American Cowboy" by them a couple months ago and I liked it. This isn't bad, either. It reminds me of a song from a couple years ago but I can't put my finger on it... Maybe old-school Pussycat Dolls or something.

Asher Roth ft. Keri Hilson--> She Don't Want a Man

I'll be honest.. I thought we'd forget about him after the college song. Now he's making music with Keri Hilson?! He's not the most talented out there, but he has catchy songs.

Mya ft. Bun B--> Show Me Somethin'

First of all, homegirl is lookin' HOTT! The break she took did her good! She sounds good, too, and I'm totally diggin' the song! Downloaded!

TI--> Hell of a Life

Have I already posted the song? I don't think I have.... For some reason I like TI... This song isn't OMG AMAZING, but it's definitely worth your time.

Michael Jackson--> This Is It

The King is gone, but his music lives on! His first released single [I'm sure there will be plenty] since his death... It's very We Are The World, I feel. The lyrics are awesome. Because it's MJ, you have to get it.

Alicia Keys--> Doesn't Mean Anything

Wow, I feel like she's been gone for a while... But, like many people this week, she's back! I love her and her voice.

Jason Castro--> Let's Just Fall In Love Again

Remember him from Idol?!? I loved him! I was wondering and hoping he'd do something, and this just might be it! Either I'm in a good music mood, or all of these songs are fabulous today.

Mariah Carey--> I Want to Know What Love Is

She redid this song originally by Foreigner, and I actually like it! It sounds a little fake, but maybe it'll sound better off of YouTube, yeah?!

Uncle Kracker--> Smile

Wait... WHAT?! Uncle Kracker is still around?!? I feel like this is the kind of song I will play over and over again just so I can sing along... Hmmm. Uh oh.

Leighton Meester ft. Robin Thicke--> Somebody to Love

A lot of people are going nuts over this song saying it's amazing. I'm on the fence. I don't think it's GREAT, but I'll get down to it.

Alright that's going to do it! Enjoy your new playlist!

tunes on tuesday 090109

Ahhh I'm SORRY it's been super long since I've been able to give you some Tunes on Tuesday!! It's back, though! And I'VE missed it!

Trey Songz ft. Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy--> LOL [Smiley Face]

I have a huge crush on Trey Songz, so I'm a little biased, but I totally do enjoy this song and I thank a certain DC blogger for making me listen to it. Now I'm going to be singing it in my head for the rest of the night.

Britney Spears ft. Lil Wayne--> Bad Girl

Another biased opinion because obviously she's my girl... So bias aside- I don't think it's going to be a radio hit, but it's definitely worth a download. It's totally a sexual song.. Leave it to BritBrit.

David Guetta ft. Akon--> Sexy Bitch video

1st of all- I had no idea David Guetta was white. Woopsies. 2nd- HOTT video. Plus after seeing Akon last week, I have an even stronger love for him.

Birdman ft. Jay Sean--> Written on Her

I don't know how I feel about Birdman, but the song has a good beat, and I have a good taste in my mouth when it comes to Jay Sean. Wait... Did that sound.... Nevermind.

Jesse McCartney ft. T-Pain--> Body Language

Oh wow... Jesse McCartney and T-Pain?!? He's really trying to make sure little Justin Beiber doesn't get in his way! Why do I like these stupid, uber poppy and corny songs? Ugh. I try and deny it, but I can't.

IYAZ--> Replay

I did not expect homeboy to sound like this after seeing pictures. Apparently he's releasing an album that has a reggae/R&B combination. I'm interested to hear more!

Priscilla Renea--> Dollhouse

The beginning of the song is really pretty boring, and I don't know that I like the rest much better, but I love her story. She's a YouTube discovery. I wanna be a YouTube discovery!

Owl City--> Fireflies

There's been a lot of Twitter hype about this song and I must say, I'm a little disappointed. I didn't know what to expect, but I don't think I love this like everyone says. It's good and pretty, and maybe it'll grow on ya, but eh.

American Yard--> No You Didn't

This song as a whole: Eh. The lyrics: Hilarious. What matters to you?

LMFAO--> La La La

These people know what they're doing. Every song I've heard is a great party song, or a great song in general. Plus, they have a pretty sweet name.

Phil Vassar--> Everywhere I Go

I heart this man. This may be a typical "I miss my ex" song, but it's a flipping good one. Period.

[Unfortunately, because Country artists somehow protect their songs to the max, that's all the country I have for you today. Ugh. Look up Josh Turner's "Why Don't We Just Dance" and Miranda Lambert's "White Liar." They're bound to blow up the radio soon.

And that brings us to an end, folks! Time to start the downloadin'!

football season is here and t-pain is doing a fight song?

Oh my goodness. Words can't express how PUMPED I am that football season is FINALLY BACK!!!!

REDSKINS vs. Ravens: Battle of the Beltways TONIGHT to kick off the pre-season!

The only downside is that I'll be at work on a Thursday night. LAME! Whoever I am waiting on tonight probably won't get very good service because I will be too entranced in the game. I apologize ahead of time.

Also- I will be sporting my Redskins jersey when Martin, my companion and I go out for our weekly taping of eTV's Finding the Real World DC Cast.

ANYWAYS. Have you heard the new Miami Dolphins fight song?! How about the T-Pain version of it?!

Why they enlisted T-Pain to record their fight song is beyond me.... Actually, no it's not. Even though Jay-Z declared DOA, T-Pain is still rockin' it, and it's popular. The Dolphins wanted attention, now they have it.

The lyrics are really pretty lame, though.

(Verse)
Miami has the Dolphins,
The greatest football team!
We take the ball from goal to goal,
Like no one's ever seen!
We're in the air,
We're on the ground,
We're always in control.
So when you say Miami,
You're talking Super Bowl!

(Chorus 1)
Cause we're the Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins Number 1.

I mean c'mon Miami... Can't you come up with something a little better?! I know there's nothing like "Hail to the Redskins," but you can do better than "We're the Miami Dolphins."

I need to stop hating on the team, though. Pat White is a Dolphin now, and I'm rooting for him!

On another note, this video of players trying to get you to pick them for Fantasy Football is fantastic. I know it's old, but it gets me pumped!

Some people say it's fake... I don't think so! Call me naive, and maybe some of them are, but some are definitely not! My favorite of them all: Laurence Maroney. I had to watch it 3+ times!

Finally.. I just think this is funny. I've said before that I read Chris Cooley's blog as much as possible. He posted about "Z's finger" and how to handle a head coach, and I find it funny. Therefor, I'm posting it. Duh.

- Drop plates of food at Z's feet and run.
- Pee in pants, slowly watching a puddle accumulate on the floor. Maintain a half grin of warm pleasure.
- Collapse into a full epileptic seizure - avoid banging head too hard on the ground.
- Shrug shoulders, laugh loudly while telling Z what a good joke that was. Congratulate him again having such a great sense of humor, then give him a friendly back handed tap in the nut sack before making their way to my table.
- Slowly, but carefully fold money in hand while he is lecturing, then using the appropriate tipping method, slip in a 20, and tell him to give you the best table he can find.
- Pull pants down, wait for spanking.
- Kiss him on the lips, tell him he is a beautiful man and you think about him every night. Tell him what a lucky woman his wife is. Gently grab his biceps before walking away. Sigh softly.
- Tell him to hold on for a second, then answer pretend phone call, say hello loudly to president Obama. Hold up finger, asking for minute then casually stroll away.
- "Hey Jim. Woah, Big Gulps, huh? All right! Well, see ya later"

I'm LOLing right now. What a hilarious guy Cooley is. I heart him. I also want to interview him. [I tried a couple times to contact him, but no dice. His brother Tanner DID comment on my blog, though! Talk about a jumping up and down and screaming moment!]

Alright, the end for this football post. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS BABY!

watch: taylor swift raps

Last night on the CMT Awards [Which I missed and I'm UBER mad about it! Replays??], T-Pain made an appearance! RAPPING!!

Okay so it wasn't really about him, it was more about the person doing it with him-- Taylor Swift!

It's pretty freakin' funny, and I think you should check it out... Now.

Why do I laugh every time I hear "I'm on a boat"?!?

That's great, though. Who knew Taylor could rap?! She sounds better than a bunch of guys I hear.

Thank you T-Pain for another viral video.

tunes on tuesday 060909

Teeheehee... The date is 69 today. How silly.
Oh, and 7 days until my BIRTHDAY! I love birthdays.

Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled program:

Glasses Malone ft. T-Pain, Rick Ross, and Birdman--> Sun Come Up

Oh no. Whenever someone sings the days of the week, it's over. You'll be singing it all day. It's not a terrible song. Meh.

Ginuwine ft. Missy Elliot and Timbaland--> Get Involved

Oh boy... Contagious beat, Ginuwine is back, and my girl Missy?!? This could be played many times on the laptop de elizabethany.

Trey Songz--> Always Twisted

Trey Songz is beautiful, voice and face. It's fun to hear him talking about getting s#*%cocked. I enjoy it.

Madonna--> Miles Away

I... Ummm.... Think I'm over music by Madonna. Is that bad? I don't think she's evolving anymore.

Jay-Z--> D.O.A. [Death of Auto-tune]

Jay-Z! I thought you retired like 5 times already? You're back again? I'm all about it, though! You're going anti-auto-tune and I fully support this song! Auto-tuning is totally okay for T-Pain, but that's it. Why is EVERYONE using it now? Thank you J.

David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland--> When Love Takes Over

Wow! Kelly looks HOTT! I'm so excited for her! I love this song, I love her!! She was who I rooted for when Destiny Child died. [She's my Dawn Richard of way back when.] Yay!

LeToya Luckett--> She Ain't Got S#*% On Me

I think this could make it on the radio pretty big, with some editing, of course. I like that it's all upbeat and like "nice try, but nope." Ahh, a girl's attitude, nothin' better.

Pop Evil--> 100 in a 55

When I searched for this song to listen to it, I totally expected it to be all fast and stuff. It's a really cool song for some reason. I have no idea who these people are, but I like what I hear.

Trailer Choir--> Rockin' The Beer Gut

How HILARIOUS!! I love country music because of songs like this. So great.

Whitney Duncan--> Skinny Dippin'

There are so many people coming out lately that I have never heard of... This must be the time for one hit wonders... Or the new generation coming in, who knows. This is an okay, kinda cute/cool song.

Craig Morgan--> Bonfire

Wahoo!! Another summertime country song. I love it. I enjoy Craig Morgan, and this song lives up to his reputation.

Okay, break out the iTunes or whatever! I know I am!!! Until next time, my friends....

tunes on [thursday] 052109

Alright, I know I scout's honored that I would have this up yesterday, but when you move back into your parents' house, you don't exactly get to do what you want, when you want to do it.

So here ya go! Here is this week's Tunes on Tuesday!... On Thursday.

Beyonce--> Ego

Imagine that. She's wearing a leotard and has two dancers beside her. Why is she feeling her boobs? And seriously.. She needs to fire her choreographer and get a new one because she has the same dance for every song. Ugh.

Cascada--> Evacuate the Dancefloor

I actually enjoy this song, it's good to dance to. I'm not used to heard her/them/whatever sing an original song! The video could be better, but whatever. I won't hate... Yet.

Ace Hood ft. Akon and T-Pain--> Overtime

I actually really dig this song, too. I think because I actually enjoy the lyrics... Or at least what they're trying to say.

Black Eyed Peas--> Imma Be

I think BEP had a lot to live up to after Boom Boom Pow, and I don't think this was the song to do it. It's not a terrible song, but it's certainly not my favorite by any means.

Cobra Starship ft. Leighton Meester--> [I Make] Good Girls Go Bad

Leighton Meester= Blair from Gossip Girl. Interesting. The song is okay, she sounds a lot better than I expected her to. I may actually like her songs when she comes out with something of her own. The song as a whole- I give it a C.

Ida Maria--> I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked

This song isn't my absolute favorite, but it's that kind of music that people are going NUTS over lately, so I'm thinking it's going to give this Indie girl a huge in to the pop world. Mark my words.

Daughtry--> No Surprise

Are ya'll ready for another Chris Daughtry song to take over the airwaves? He's back! I fully enjoy this song, too. For once a song admitting that both people knew a breakup was coming, and it's alright. Oh Chris.. You're great. Can you believe this is the first song from his second album!? All of those before were from his debut album. Wow.

Finally, your American Idol! Kris Allen--> No Boundaries

It's maybe one of my lesser favorite Idol songs, but it's growing on me. And since Kris won, I definitely won't complain when I hear it on the radio.

As for my country fans... The songs that are about to become big, and are great, can't be downloaded/embedded for free right now, so here are some links:

Brooks & Dunn--> Indian Summer
Phill Vassar--> Bobby With an I
Rodney Atkins--> 15 Minutes
Jimmy Wayne--> I'll Be That

Alright, that's all I got for today, guys!! Again, sorry it's 2 days late!

tunes on tuesday 030309

I know it's super late, but Happy TUNES ON TUESDAY!

Someone told me today it's their favorite day, and I must admit, I think I agree.

Anyways, break out the iTunes, Amazon, cheater programs, etc.

Young Capone ft. Mario--> Choosin'

This is one of those songs I clicked on and figured I'd like it because it involves someone I enjoy-- Mario. I was right. I enjoy it. You will too.

Electrik Red--> Friend Lover

I don't have any idea who this group Electrik Red is... But the song is alright! Nice catchy beat, of course, and the lyrics are funny. Friends with benefits, and that's it. The rules, as they say: Rule One: No poppin up un-announced, Rule Two: Never leave no clothes at my house, Rule Three: Can't speak if you see when I'm out, Rule Four: You cant' stay pass five, I gotta be to work by nine... Love it.

O'Neal McKnight ft. [People... I can't figure out which version this is, I'm sorry.]

I don't know how much I like the reggae-voice sound, but I like the beat, which makes it an okay song. There's a part 1 and part 2, I'm sorry I don't know which one this is. Shoot me.

Redd Eyezz ft. Flo Rida and Juvenile--> How Much

Well, anything with Flo Rida is bound to get a TON of online downloads, so good call on that... But today must be the day of people I have no idea who they are. Who's Redd Eyezz?! Eh, I like the song, though. I feel like we could be hearing a lot of it real soon. Just sayin'. However.. The girl at the beginning is gross.

Jim Jones ft. Brittney Taylor--> Na Na Nana Na Na

This song is terribly annoying to me. I don't like it. I'm not even sure why I'm posting it for you guys. Maybe as a warning? Or maybe someone will change my mind. Maybe.

Maino ft. T-Pain--> All of the Above

Seriously.. Who are all of these new people making songs with people we hear a LOT from?! I can mess with this song, though. T-Pain is a given great song.. And this one isn't too shabby.

Baby Bash ft. Lil Jon and Mario--> That's How I Go

There we go.. People we all know. I wouldn't say this is an AMAZING song, but it's worth your time. 'Nuff said.

Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West and Ne-Yo--> Knock You Down

I don't like Kanye, but that's okay, because it's Keri's song, and I LOVE her. I also LOVEEE Ne-yo, duh. So, basically, I love this song. Yesyesyes, it's something I can listen to multiple times, and I love the lyrics, too. That doesn't always happen with these types of songs, but it did this time. And honestly, I won't even complain about Kanye right now. Bravo, friends!

Fallon and Felisha--> Infected

This is cute and pretty and soft and genuine-sounding. I'm keeping it short and sweet.. I like it. [We KINDA know them. They're two sisters from the group Cherish.]

Dierks Bentley--> Sideways

It's time to go out and have a good time, my friends! Seriously, if you ever thought country was all depressing, I want you to just look at the country songs I put up on here. They're all fun and happy. It reminds me of the oldies-- All good, happy, fun-loving songs. Love it.

Sugarland--> It Happens

I love everything about this group. Again, another song saying life does crazy things, but take it as it comes. You can't help whatever happens.

Jessica Harp--> Boy Like Me

She's from The Wreckers, and now has a song that celebrates finding a bad boy just like her. It's a good debut song, I think! Good job, lady!

Alright, I'm tired. There's actually a LOT out there today, but you'll have to find it on your own! ;)

Open up that new playlist and title it "tunes on tuesday!"

tunes on tuesday 122308

It's Tunes on Tuesdayyy! Sweet!

First off, Beyonce released TWO new videos.. I guess that's how it's going to work with this new album.. The whole two videos/songs at a time since she kinda has two albums at once..?

Diva--> [Sorry about all the links etc. throughout..]

First of all.. What were these shades she was wearing?! PLEASE don't tell me they're going to be everywhere like Kanye's glasses. Ugh. Also, raise your hand if you're surprised it's just her, and two dancers, with no pants on, dancing... No one? Oh.

Here's Halo-->

I like this one way better. Not as great as "If I Were A Boy," but it's good. I like it when she's real. Yeah it's cool she has the whole "Sasha Fierce" thing too, but I like the real, down to Earth Beyonce best. I like her dancing deal in this video, and her boy's eyes are BEAUTIFUL! Ahh...

Plies ft. Sean Garrett--> Street Light

Ummm. Wack song. Had to say it, and that's all I'm going to say. Oh, and that I had high hopes.. Just because I liked "Bust It Baby"

Natasha--> Sidekick

I really kinda like this song. And I want to learn the dance. I wonder if it will be one that everyone learns, or one that I'll be completely alone in doing..? I know!! How about you learn it too!! ;) It doesn't look hard, but it looks cool!

Jesse McCartney--> How Do You Sleep

It's very Jesse. That's the only way to describe it. It's not my most favorite song of his, but it's not terrible, either. If you like him, you'll probably like it. If not, you probably won't.

Akon, TI, Snoop Dogg--> Day Dreaming

Ummm, I LOVE IT! Really, I do. What a sweet combination! Snoop's voice kinda comes out of nowhere, I feel, but it's okay.. I'm okay with it. It brings a different flavor to the Akon sound. Officially downloaded.

Jamie Foxx ft. Yung Joc and T-Pain--> Blame It

This song is cool, too. I'm not jumping for joy.. Especially because I need more Jamie Foxx in it.. But the song is cool and the lyrics are interesting. :)

There ya have it, folks! It's almost Christmas Eve!! Yay!!

tunes on tuesday 110408

You need to check THESE out:

Nas--> Election Night

It's not a full length song or anything, but it suits tonight's festivities. It's not even that awesome of a song, but he threw it together quickly.. Obviously. Either way, it's worth your time.

Timbaland ft. T-Pain--> Say

Hmmm.. I would expect more from this pair, but I don't hate it. Definitely something to listen to when you're tryin to chill.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Trace Cyrus--> Somebody Said a Prayer

Typical country song.. About bad things about to happen until, of course, someone says a prayer. But I think it's cute that Billy Ray continues to use his kids to help him out with his songs. [Trace is a part of Metro Station.] It's really not a bad song, though. And for you country fans, I think you'll enjoy it. :)

That's terrible that this is the first time I have included country. It's also terrible that this week's selection is terrible. Meh.. It was a big day.

Once again, congrats to Obama!

To all of you, Good night, and good luck.

tunes on tuesday 102108

Yay for Tunes on Tuesday!
Boo for my usual source being down for maintenance!

numero uno: Ludacris ft. T-Pain--> One More Drink

Ludacris - One More Drink feat. T-Pain - Explicit - Ludacris feat. T-Pain

Will it surprise anyone if I say I love it?! T-Pain is THE MAN these days. He makes any song awesome. And Luda is back and I'm LOVIN it! I love rap songs from a couple years ago when it was people like him and Ja Rule EVERYWHERE. It's a great song. Period. A-

numero dos: John Legend--> Can't Be My Lover

Cant Be My Lover (Bonus Track) - John Legend

Hmm, I'm a fan of John Legend, for sure.. But I'm unsure about this song. It's got that rasta/Jamaican feel to it :-P but I don't know how much I like it. Maybe I'll have to get back to you in a couple more listens. Or maybe you can make up my mind for me. C-

numero tres: Timbaland ft. T-Pain and Missy Elliot--> Talk That Shit

Talk That Shit (Feat. T-Pain & Missy Elliott) - Timbaland

Another one for T-Pain.. and my girl Missy. When I first started listening, I LOVED the beat. Now, I think the worst part about the song is Timbaland's verses. Missy is always great. T-Pain is always great. Timbaland is normally pretty good, but this time I think he's the weakest link, even though he's the headliner or whatever. Meh, not a terrible song. B-

numero cuatro; the Virginian of the week: Young Millz ft. B Strong--> Full Effect

Full Effect - Young Millz ft. B Strong

These guys Millz and B Strong are representing 2 AM Recordings, which two of my greatest friends, Camden and Byron, I hear about Millz all the time, and chances are if you've been around the area, you have too. He's got some serious talent, which this song can't even begin to show alone. Wake up, check out this song for sure, but definitely all of the rest too here or here.

Finally, a music trailer for TI and Rihanna's Live Your Life... Hmmm. A video trailer? That's interesting.

It debuts Oct. 28. :)

songs to check 100708

Kanye's video and Hil Duff's new song are in previous posts.. but here are some more songs I listened to today and think you should check out too. :)

T-Pain ft. Chris Brown- Freeze

Now, I think anything either of these 2 guys do right now is gonna be hott. And I don't know that this is an exception. I definitely like it, it's got a good beat, they sound good. Only beef I have is the beat-boxing. It's super cool and different, but comes out of nowhere. But who knows, maybe in another couple listens, I'll love it.. and be trying to do it. (Oh boy.)

Nicole Wray- Dice Roll

The only song I have on my iTunes from her is "I Wanna Kiss You" so I don't know much about her. This is the first single from her upcoming album. I like the idea of the song, and what she's saying and all that, but I don't know how I feel about the overall sound. She's very Fantasia or Macy Gray, right?! Which is cool, I just don't know if it works all together.

Akon ft. Lil Wayne- Get Paid

I feel like maybe I'm late on this and heard someone talking about it before, but I could be wrong.. who knows. Anyways, two more guys who no one can get enough of right now, so it's not going to be a good song. But, I don't think it's anything new or something that hasn't been doing. For some reason the chorus reminds me of the Pretty Ricky song "My Body"... Am I alone? Eh, it's not bad. I'll download it. But it's nothing for me to be excited about.

Christina Millian- Us Against The World

This is the first single for Christina from her album which is set to be released sometime Spring 2009. She calls it a "cinematic power ballad" and I think I agree. I definitely like the song. Unfortunately, as some of you may have noticed, I tend to be a bit biased, and I definitely have always liked her. I also like cute love songs. ;) But I think this is a great song.. and a great single to get that album started!

Rehab- The Bartender Song

Someone over the summer told me this was a really old song. Still, when it got played the other day, I heard so many people saying "what is this song?" Well, it's the Bartender Song. And it's hilarious. So if you havent heard it yet, today is the day.

I'm trying to find some country out there for my country lovers, but I'm having a harder time than I hoped. Sorry!

Thanks to The Hype Factor for supplying me with the songs!! :)

love,
elizabethany
