giveaway! exofab phone case

Welcome to 2014, where we have phone cases/covers that allow you to take hands-free selfies!

Exofab makes these stick-on covers that protect your phone, but more importantly- stick to hard surfaces so you can set a timer and take the best selfie possible!

When I first tried it, I was worried about it sticking to the inside of my pocket and being annoying, but it's really not doing that! It's just made to stick to smooth and hard surfaces like windows, TVs, cars, signs, whatever you can find! And BOTH sides can hold the phone up!

Some bonuses: it comes with a screen protector and a waterproof bag/case thing so you can take it to the beach or pool or whatever and not worry about it. Also: If you're attached the case you have, you could just stick this sucker to the back/front.

They have them for all the major phones in a bunch of different colors, and you can check them out right over here.

AND... you can try one out for yourself if you enter my giveaway! They're being extra awesome and letting me give away TWO of these selfie game-changers, and you'll get to pick out which one! Enter below, and I'll pick winners Wednesday, August 20th at midnight.

what ya should wear wednesdays- inappropriate christmas sweaters

It's ugly Christmas sweater season! Hopefully these things are still being found in the thrift shops, but I've also seen mall kiosks for them and racks inside Walmart etc. ARE THEY GONNA BECOME UNCOOL?!

Nah, chill. They're always great... especially when a website is taking them to a new level. They're taking them from G to R-rated!

At first look, Grandma will be all "that's a nice sweater, hun!" But your friends will look closer... and realize just how "niiiiiice" it is.

Santa peeing on a roof... reindeer humping... BLACK SANTA IS REAL! and there are more.

Yeah... these are incredible. A bit out of my $3 price range, but possibly worth it.

BONUS... they have fanny packs... for anyone who feels like getting me something for Christmas.

nifty: vibrating bike seat

My bike is getting more tricked out by the day. It already has the rack on the back, the basket, and a fancy paint job, but now I'm thinkin' it needs a vibrating bike seat.

Pause. Think about it. Vibrating. Bike seat.

It's real.

For about $43, you can be riding around in an all new comfort that you've probably thought of, but never looked into further.

It could probably be kinda dangerous to ride around with this along roads or places with traffic, but I say to do whatever your heart [or, ya know] desires.

You're welcome for introducing you to new things you can try.

gift idea: 30 gifts for 30th birthday

When you have to buy for someone who seems to have just about everything, you gotta come up with creative gifts.

For a Corey's birthday, I decided to do 30 gifts throughout the day, since he turned 30! I mean, who doesn't wanna open 30 wrapped presents?!

Even though it took a lot of time and thought, it was fun and worth it! So if you wanna do it, allow me to help you!

You've gotta customize it for each person, but here are some ideas for ya:
  1. Card with a letter [Hey, it counts! It's still something!]
  2. Case of beer
  3. Bottle of liquor [or airplane bottle]
  4. Bottle of wine
  5. Shotglass/drinking glass that's customized for their birthday
  6. Gift certificate for their favorite meal
  7. Movie ticket
  8. 5 Hour Energy, so they can last the whole weekend in their old age
  9. Something to make them feel old [reading glasses]
  10. Something to make them feel young [toy of some sort... I gave a slingshot/water balls]
  11. Picture and frame
  12. Chapstick
  13. Balloon
  14. CD- either one they've wanted or an old school mixtape
  15. Lottery tickets
  16. Favorite candy
  17. Something related to an inside joke
  18. Cake
  19. Piece of clothing
  20. Boxers/lingerie/whatever
  21. Favorite food [bacon]
  22. Stress ball/zen garden/whatever "for when they're frustrated with you"
  23. Back scratcher
  24. Pillow
  25. Hand sanitizer/lotion
  26. An accessory for something they already have [I got a drink holder for his new mic stand]
  27. Slippers/flip flops/etc
  28. Beach towel/something they can use that season
  29. Message/video/visit from a friend
  30. Coffee/tea they like
These are definitely pretty unisex, but if you're buying for a girl- I imagine it'd be a lot easier. Or if it's a manly man, you could get tools and stuff they'll use every day.

If you're in a relationship with the person, there are even more possibilities. Date night IOU's, things to be used after hours, or whatever else your naughty mind can come up with! [Shoot, you could actually give condoms or toys to a bestie or anyone, to be honest!] You could also throw them a party and call it a gift!

The gifts definitely add up more than you might imagine at first, so when you're making your list- write out the cost of everything and try to stay within a budget for yourself. Also, going to stores like Five Below or the dollar store can give you even more ideas you don't think up right away!

If you have any more small gift ideas, leave them in the comments below! [And if you need more girly ideas, I just found this post which is good!]

nifty: sneaky booze in tampons and sunscreen

You know how much I love finding ways to sneak booze into anywhere... now there are a couple more genius ways to make it happen. Most of them are for my ladies.

Exhibit A: fake tampons.

No one will ever question whether or not it's tampons you have in a tampon wrapper, unless it's some bitchy woman who's just jealous you get to drink and she doesn't. Dudes won't know what each wrapper looks like, nor do they wanna come closer than 10 feet from them.

You can buy them for 4/$10, but I was also thinking it'd be pretty easy to make. I bet you can find a bunch of those tubes at a dollar store or Walmart, then just use real tampon wrappers so NO ONE questions you! Badabing!

Exhibit B: Sunscreen bottles

Also genius, because this can go pretty much anywhere too. And here's the thing... you could buy this diddy and the funnel for $10, or you could just empty/wash out your bottle when you're done with it! You could even cut off the fat end, empty it, then melt it with a lighter. BadaBOOM!

Exhibit C: Boobie stuffers

We've seen ways to hide alcohol in boobs several times, but why not one more?! Fill a flask, stick in in, all day long you'll have some gin. [Okay, that was a weird rhyme/ode to the find a penny thing...]

You can actually buy all of these things in one pack for $28, which would be a damn good gift idea. [FYI my birthday was two weeks ago and I still haven't received your present...]

Happy drinking and saving money, y'all.

nifty: life-size gummy versions of yourself

Once again, Japan is proving that they're THE COOLEST COUNTRY EVER!

To celebrate "White Day," which is kinda like Valentine's Day, one company is making life-size gummy versions of people. LIFE-SIZED, GUMMY, YOU!

I'm not saying we should ever eat that much gummy substance, but like.... Just IMAGINE being able to take a bite out of yourself!
Okay, maybe that's a little creepy.

Did I mention it only costs $65?! And a little time standing in front of a camera.

Just imagine your honey unwrapping this beast of a candy. You'd win any gift giving contest for the rest of your life.

Seriously. I've had enough of all this teasing. It's time to move to Japan. Surely they have some kinda American/English radio there........ WHO'S WITH ME?!

gift guide: 90s inspired

Obviously I had to gather some ideas for fellow 90s lovers before it's too late! Although none of them are as good as Beer Pogz that apparently existed two years ago but NOT ANYMORE [I've been raging about it all night], but they're still pretty awesome.

Saved By the Bell board game? You betta believe it! Let's just talk about how awesome people with think you your friend is when it's pulled out. [$13]

Speaking of SBTB, if a board game isn't their style, how about the DVD set that comes with an old school lunchbox?! [$38]

Remember how awesome those phones were?! You could see all the insides! Now you can get a plug-in version for your phone! [A little expensive at $48]

I seriously want one of these slap-watches. You can get interchangeable faces and bands and match every outfit! [Get a bunch, one for each friend, for $15 total!]

This is something for your best friend or lover. It's gonna make a little dent in your wallet, but who wouldn't wanna play Super Nintendo games with a handheld device?! No one. [$89]

You KNOW you loved listening to Casey Kasem countdown the hits, and show up randomly in different shows. Now get the biggest hits from his show on one CD! [$15]

Told you about these before, now you need to get them for someone. Collections of Lisa Frank stickers and stuff! They're the actual stickers we grew up with! [$14]

And in honor of the return of Boy Meets World, for only the true fans, a Chubbies t-shirt. [$25]

This is mostly a tease and it's rude. I thought it was a way to play N64 on your phone but WRONG. It's just a charging dock. [Not worth it for $40]

Pretty good variety of stuff there, if I do say so myself! Now... get all of it for me? And a personalized, homemade version of Beer Pogz?! Okay yay thank you, Santas!

gift guide 2012: nifty shot glasses and glassware

It's weird. I feel like I mostly suck at getting gifts for people these days... but I also feel like I always find the niftiest things! This year, I'm going to start listening to my own suggestions. You should too.

Day 1: Shot glasses that should be in everyone's collection, and other pieces of glassware

I've wanted this DRINK/DRUNK shot glass for a while. I mean... you flip it over... and it declares you drunk!!!! It's just clever. [Set of 2 for $12]

ShootERS and Ladders! Hot damn I love making old games new again. It'll be your new fave drinking game. [For $18]

These are just awesome for a collection! Mini martini, wine, and boot glass for shots! Yes please! [On sale for $15!]

Why not make your party even more classy with red Solo cup SHOT GLASSES?! It only makes sense. [$12 for 4]

This one's genius, and may end up being what I make for all my friends. [Shh, hopefully they suck at being my friend/reading this blog.] It's a totally DIY part shot glass, part wine/drink glass! Just buy separately, decorate, and glue together!

For all the dudes that are all "I don't drink wine, I'm too manly, I don't want those fancy glasses." Fine. Have this fancy Winestein for $20.

And just for the hell of it, why not gt a mug that looks like a toilet so you can feel like you're drinking nasty toilet water when you have your tea or coffee in the morning. [Also on sale for $15!]

Every weekday until Christmas I'll be posting some fun/random ideas like this, so if you have any requests for "category," you just let me know! Also, let me know if you find anything neat that I could include! Of course, I'll always try to keep it affordable for all you slightly poor people like me.

gift idea: i froze cash in ice cubes

Sometimes I get really nervous from the pressure of giving gifts that I'd much rather call off the whole process or just give some moneys. Since it's normally unacceptable to call it all off, I try to come up with inside joke gifts or clever ways to give cash. For a birthday last week, I got clever.

They asked for something I totally couldn't afford [Ray Bans], so I helped pitch into that fund, and kept with a summertime theme. I got a cooler with their team on it, bathing suit, and ice cubes... filled with cash.

It was VERY simple. If you wanna do it too, here's how:

1. Boil a bucket of water. This makes it so the ice cubes are super clear once they're frozen.

2. Fold up the cash and place in cubes. I originally thought the tighter rolled, the better... but that was false. If you make them a little messier, they'll stay in better once the water is poured in.

3. Pour the boiled water into the ice tray. [I put it in a cup first and let it cool a little bit.] Some of the cash will float up and out of the holes, so just use your fingers to sink them again.

4. Freeze!

5. Remove from trays once completely frozen and dump into your container. Some of the cash was poking out of the cubes, but it's a neat effect.

The fun part is seeing their face and realizing they have to let it melt AND dry before they can use it... Then they have a big ol fat, wrinkled stack of ones. [If you're broke like me and can't afford the big bucks, anyway.]

I'm sure this has been done before, but I'll be honest... I came up with this idea on my own and I'm pretty damn proud of it.

gift guide: for the 90s obsessed

Have someone who is obsessed with the 90s? [Hopefully we've met... I have a feeling we could be best friends.] These gifts are 100% guaranteed to make them love you and what you give them.

If you have a way to print out a large picture or want to make a DIY canvas, these minimalist 90s Nickelodeon posters are awesome. Unfortunately not for sale, but that's where the touch of your hand becomes valuable.

Maybe you wanna go a little more simple and easier for you. This Friends poster is great! It lists all the lessons the show taught you! Right now it's on sale for $6! Easy and cheap.

Any 90s themed T-shirt is fabulous, but only the best 90s fans will know exactly what these shirts are when they see them: Legends of the Hidden Temple. They're only $18!

90s DVD sets- also great. You could go with anything from Boy Meets World to Saved By the Bell to anything Nickelodeon. If you want to go the Nick route, there's a website dedicated to it, with sets from 30-40$.

Speaking of SBTB, who doesn't wanna pretend like they're from Bayside? This sweatshirt is suitable for guys and girls, and is only $34.

If you've ever played Singstar, especially while drunk, you know what an asset it is in your household. Well, they have Singstar for the 90s. It's necessary and only $29.

For those of you who have a lot of money to spend, the 15th Anniversary Edition of the Tamagachi was recently released, is in color, and a whopping $130. Didn't they used to be real cheap?

And finally, the best thing you could give them in my opinion, this HANDHELD SUPER NINTENDO. It's totally worth every penny of the $85, and you can stock them up with a few games from eBay for anywhere from about $2-30.

As for stocking stuffers, I'd recommend things like scrunchies, Beanie Babies, and pogs [that you can find on eBay] that have a dopeness that will never fade.
