gift guide: someecards' pint glasses will make the night

Since last night's Fombag was a little on the expensive side, I'm going cheap tonight. This is the perfect gift for ANY of your friends, or in my case- my coworkers.

Someecards.com has AMAZING e-greetings that will have you laughing for hours, and now Urban Outfitters has turned some of them into pint glasses!

You can get them for $8 each, but even better: 2 for $10! That's worthy of a stocking stuffer option or just something simple for all those friends you wanna give something, but don't have money for.

I want more of them. I want them all. Hopefully I can buy them and not keep them all for myself.

watch: funny people get in the mood for christmas in the malls

Once the holiday season hits, I'm in the mood 24/7. [I mean the holiday happy mood, but I guess it works both ways....]

Improv Everywhere also got in the mood with their latest skit, all about [never] being too old to sit on Santa's lap. It's fabulous, as they always are.

Even better, my friend Preston Leatherman, whose music video I was in last year wearing my Twitter bird costume, has been doing "Dancing with an iPod" videos, and he did this one that's Christmas themed. SO. GOOD. I love messing around in public.

Yea, I'm TOTALLY jealous I can't do something like that [because I can't copy, duh!]. Bravo, darling. It was beautiful. Especially when you got totally dissed from a high-five.

Happy holiday season! Have you decorated yet? I sure did!

holiday gift guide: give joy and comfort with the fombag

Today begins my 2011 daily holiday gift guide! Every day I'll post something you may have never thought of [or heard of] that would be a fabulous idea for nearly anyone. I'll hit all price ranges!

What I want, and everyone else will love: The Fombag.

It's a lot like a LoveSac,[AKA a giant bean bag fit for adults] but it's a LOT cheaper.

There are tons of options, but this is my favorite, the Sofa Sack.

It's 7 feet of pure comfort that you can lay a variety of ways to make it the perfect seat for your bedroom or living room! I mean seriously, imagine being hungover in this thing. It'd be instant feel-better. OR... CUDDLING?! Shoot. You two would never get up! This option: $255.

There's also the traditional round sack, a pillow, a "pancake" which is flatter, ottomans, and more! You could totally furnish your whole place.

I mean seriously... LOOK HOW HAPPY AND COZY THEY ARE!

And don't you worry about them looking bad. Not that I've ever tried one, but based on the pictures, I'd assume that as soon as someone sat in them, they'd stop hating.

Dear Santa, give me the opportunity to sit in one, would ya?

Prices range from $120-$345 depending on the size and fabric. Here is where you can customize it yourself! And FYI: They're on sale til November 30, which could be today, depending on when you're reading this.

Happy sacking! Or bagging! Or... something.

elizabethany

PS: No, I'm not getting paid to post this... but I wish I was.. in the form of a free one.

Over 60 degrees along the East Coast on November 29... and they're trying to convince me that we'll get a lot of snow this year. Yeah, okay.

Anyway, what else can you convince me of, Internet?

That's all for now! Today begins my gift guide!

watch etv: party rockin with real world san diego's nate and sam in the studio

Nate was in town for a couple bar parties over Thanksgiving weekend [SO upset I couldn't make it to them because of having to get home for the holiday], but he and Sam stopped by the studio for a little bit on Wednesday night to get the party started.

I had them cohost my show for an hour while talked about the best and the most cheesy pick-up lines, since they seem to know their stuff.

Here's the podcast/calls:

BUT, that's not even the best part. I also wanted to know exactly what dance moves they throw onto the dance-floor when they're tryin' to get the ladies. After a couple minutes of going on tangents and stopping everything we were doing in order to get our Party Rock on, they spilled the beans.

[I also had to ask Sam what kind of underwear she wears, and of course, Nate got asked who he'd bang, kill, and marry.]

They were TOO fun, as expected. Hopefully he'll be back because I'd really enjoy a "How to Prank Your Friends" lesson from the two of them.

the cast of the little rascals: what they look like now

I watched The Little Rascals over the weekend and decided it was time to see what all of the cast members look like now. We saw the picture of Alfalfa and Darla, but here's some more about those lovable kids:

Travis Tedford, AKA Spanky

Poor guy is already balding, and apparently had to take a job at Walmart. He did have a decent amount of gigs after the movie, but nothing bigger than "The Amanda Show" and a random voice on "A Bug's Life." Follow him on Twitter, maybe it'll help get him back in the game...

Bug Hall, AKA Alfalfa

The nerds always grow up to be the best... and dang, this is definitely proof! Bug is a total babe now, and has been doing a bunch of one-episode roles in TV shows, and seems to be in some upcoming movies in 2013. Could this be a serious comeback?! He seems pretty great on Twitter, too.

Brittany Ashton Holmes, AKA Darla

The perfect little girl didn't get much of anything after the movie, and now seems to be your average, slightly slutty 22 year old.

Ross Bagley, AKA Buckwheat

Okay, I really did think he was a girl... like, until just now I think. Woops. He was in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," which I guess I just didn't put the two and two together, and now he's... umm... glad the NBA is back?

Jordan Warkol, AKA Froggy

He was also in "A Bug's Life," and some episodes of "Hey Arnold!," but not a whole lot beyond those. He said on Twitter he wants to get back into the acting world. Good thing his looks are much better these days!

Courtland Mead, AKA Uh-Huh

The cutie did a bunch of things up until the mid-2000s, including "A Bug's Life" and "Recess," but nothing since 2006, making him say his occupation is "washed up child actor" on his MySpace. He does look like a hell of a "Myspace shot" photographer.

Zachary Mabry, AKA Porky

This kid didn't do much acting after the movie, but now he goes to University of Oklahoma, in case you might be out that way, look out for him! He's still a total cutie!

Sam Saletta, AKA Butch

I feel like I remember him playing a lot of bullies in shows, and he does have a pretty resume, but it stops in 2003 after some episodes of "7th Heaven" and "Rocket Power." It's a shame, really... he's a beautiful man now, and just writing for a sports website. Holler at his Twitter!

Blake McIver Ewing, AKA Waldo

Wait, what?! He's not a Culkin?! Weird. He did have big roles in "Full House" and "Hey Arnold!," but apparently focuses on theater now and is pretty successful with it. He even released a choir Christmas CD called "On This Christmas Night."

Heather Karasek, AKA Jane

Not too surprising that she didn't do any more acting after the movie, but she's looking pretty successful nowadays as she works with the wardrobe departments of some movies in the past year. She seems really normal [well, duh] and cute on Twitter.

It's so weird to think that these kids/characters are some that we'll never forget, and yet they've been completely forgotten about in the acting world as they grew up! They get to tell people they were in this awesome movie, and live a normal life. That's pretty neat.

Now I shall stalk those that are on Twitter forever.

watch: woman gives kid worst birthday celebration ever

If you ever thought your family was a little embarrassing, especially on your birthday, think again. This lady celebrating her poor son Edgar's birthday is beyond awful.

I can't even get over how miserable that is. Now he has pubic hair?! WTF?! And how ya gotta tell the kids to beat up the birthday boy, then say the cake is more important that being nice to him?!

I laughed and then it made me sad and mad.. SO MANY EMOTIONS! Someone save this kid from the horrible crazy bitch of a mom he has.

watch: girl nose dives off local bar

A girl falling off the bar- ALWAYS funny. A girl falling off a bar, hitting their head on a light, and then having to pull down their dress afterwards- Freaking GREAT.

Add in the fact it happened in a local bar here in Virginia Beach [Mojo Bones, apparently], and we've got ourselves a real winner.

She gets back up and raises the roof! Oh, girl... I appreciate your effort to brush it off!

...but it's still up for the world to see.

last minute thanksgiving idea: pumpkin pie croissants

If you need to bring something to Thanksgiving dinner and have nothing to make, I'm about to save your life.

This will cost you well under 10 dollars, and take less than 30 minutes of your time.

Pumpkin Pie Croissants

What you need:
  • Packages of crescent rolls [Each normally makes about 8, so plan accordingly depending on the amount of people at dinner. They'll probably want two!]
  • One package of ready-to-make Jello brand Pumpkin Pudding [should make 3 packages worth of croissants]
  • Cinnamon sugar to sprinkle
What you do:
  1. Make the pudding accordingly. It only takes a couple minutes of mixing together the powder and water in a big bowl.
  2. Open the crescent rolls and place them on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  3. Spread the pudding over the croissant portions. Don't make it too thick, but don't go too easy on it either. My picture shows what I did, but I could have added a little more. [Normally about a spoon-full on each croissant]
  4. Roll up the croissants
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the croissants as you like. [I say the more, the better, but it depends on how dessert-y you want it to be.]
  6. Bake about 13 minutes at 375 degrees, as the croissant packages say.
  7. Enjoy!

I've seen this recipe get more complicated with real pumpkin filling, spices, etc, but this is so easy! I couldn't stop eating them!

If you make them, let me know! Share a picture! Happy early Thanksgiving!

elizabethany

PS: If you're not crunched for time/money, you could always try the Cherpumple! ;)

awesome pictures in the national geographic photo contest of 2011

Every year, the National Geographic has a photography contest, and this year's deadline is November 30. BUT, lucky for us, thanks to The Big Picture, we can get a preview of some of the awesome pictures.

Here are the ones I loved, in no particular order, of course.

The penguins: TO DIE FOR. Same with the cat and the little kid. Gah. And can you imagine being in that shark picture? Oh, hell no.

There are descriptions of the photos at The Big Picture, if you get confused.

I want more!
