elizabethanyTV: making my coworkers smell my armpits

I've decided I'm sick of talking about these cool random products that I find on the internet... and I'm going to start buying them. Unless someone wants to send them to me but lol that's funny.

Native is an all natural deodorant company and they've made a pumpkin spice latte scented deodorant because they're smart and know how to capitalize on the basics.

When it came in, I did the only thing I know how to do: make other people uncomfortable.

I asked people in the office to smell my pits and guess what the scent was. It didn't go over well.

Fun fact: I also did gymnastics today. I made a video AND did gymnastics in one week. I feel so happy-EB right now and I just hope I can keep it up!

recipe: garlic-pumpkin hummus

We had a company potluck today, and even though I've sworn [after learning the hard way] that I wouldn't make something I've never made for a party, I did it.

I wanted something different and fall-y... so, PUMPKIN duh! Even though I'm not a big hummus person, I decided to throw some of that together.

If you have a blender or a food processor, it's hella easy and... good! [Even though I didn't find that out until the end of the party cuz I was too scared to try it ahead of time in case it sucked... then I'd have an excuse. "Oh man, I had no idea!"]

WHAT YOU NEED:

-2 7.75 oz of chick peas
-1 cup of pumpkin puree
-1.5 tbs olive oil
-1 tbs tahini
-2 cloves/tbs minced garlic
-1/2 tsp ground cumin
-1/4 tsp cinnamon
-pita chips to eat it with!

WHAT YOU DO:

1. Blend/puree the chickpeas and olive oil.

2. Add in the pumpkin and do it again.

3. Add in all the other ingredients. [FYI this is what tahini looks like. Kiiiinda weird, but smells delicious!]

4. Mix it all up, chill in in the fridge for a little, and BAM! Enjoy!

Seriously... how easy is that?! I had about two hours to work with this morning, and this took maybe 15 minutes!

BONUS: Pumpkin is an aphrodisiac... especially for guys. Hellloooooo office drama!
....I mean... what?!

recipe: frozen pumpkin yogurt shake... with alcohol!

We had people over for the first time in the new place this past weekend, so you know I worked up some Pinterest recipes. The meatballs and pizza dip I've had before, but homemade, pumpkin flavored, frozen yogurt?! This was going to be a new treat for everyone!

I failed to read in the recipe that you should have an ice cream maker, which I don't have [and most people don't]. So in order to still make it delicious, I put a couple spins on the original pin/recipe to make it a delicious alcoholic beverage.

Here's what I did, in easy "recipe card" form so you can Pin it, save it, share it, print it... do what ya do! [This made 4 small milkshakes... I'd say it makes 2-3 regular sized ones.]

It would have been good as the frozen yogurt even without the ice cream maker if you're not picky about it being smooth.

I can't decide if that looks good or not, but it was!

Technically I could have told you exactly how much milk and alcohol to put in there, but I feel like everyone makes their own adjustments to those parts, anyway. I just got all Rachael Ray and guestimated how much would be great. Same goes for the spices, really.

Also, I recommend using the whipped cream vodka because it adds a different flavor to the mix... but if you're one of those who skips the Cool Whip on their pumpkin pie, I say go straight for the pumpkin pie flavored liquor!

If you give it a whirl, let me know how you like it, and if you make any changes!

you will love my pumpkin pie martini drink

I've been on the hunt for the pumpkin pie vodka for weeks now, and either the world hates me, or I'm looking in all the wrong places. Since I couldn't wait any longer, I decided to go a different route and got some pumpkin pie flavored liqueur.

The flavor is really strong, and you could absolutely drink it alone, but I prefer to spike it a little more with some whipped cream vodka. More alcohol, balancing flavors, easy to do... it's perfection.

Recipe:
2 parts Fulton's Harvest Pumpkin Pie Liqueur
1 part whipped cream vodka
Shake with ice, and pour.

You could get fancy and line the glass with graham cracker crumbs, but there's really not even a need for adding cinnamon. There's plenty of the spice in the liqueur.

And as much as guys have told me "I don't drink martinis," as soon as I put this in a red solo cup and hand it to them, they haven't been able to put it down.

While we're on the topic of pumpkin flavored things, my mornings have been kickstarting with this delicious pumpkin butter from Harris Teeter. 0 fat, 35 calories a serving, and pure perfection on an english muffin.

I'm also looking forward to making these that I've found on Pinterest:
YUM! Football, boots, pumpkin flavored everything... I'm not sure what the best part about fall is anymore!

If you have a favorite pumpkin recipe, share it with me, duh!

how to make a keg out of a pumpkin

This is the most simple, but most necessary party item I think I have ever seen.

If you're planning on having any parties this fall, you must have a homemade pumpkin keg.

It's the easiest thing ever. Carve a pumpkin, stick a spigot in it, and fill it with Octoberfest beer. And then be the coolest party host your friends have ever seen.

Just when I thought I had seen or thought of all the possible pumpkin recipes, this gem comes into my life. Looks like it's time to start planning a party.

last minute thanksgiving idea: pumpkin pie croissants

If you need to bring something to Thanksgiving dinner and have nothing to make, I'm about to save your life.

This will cost you well under 10 dollars, and take less than 30 minutes of your time.

Pumpkin Pie Croissants

What you need:
  • Packages of crescent rolls [Each normally makes about 8, so plan accordingly depending on the amount of people at dinner. They'll probably want two!]
  • One package of ready-to-make Jello brand Pumpkin Pudding [should make 3 packages worth of croissants]
  • Cinnamon sugar to sprinkle
What you do:
  1. Make the pudding accordingly. It only takes a couple minutes of mixing together the powder and water in a big bowl.
  2. Open the crescent rolls and place them on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  3. Spread the pudding over the croissant portions. Don't make it too thick, but don't go too easy on it either. My picture shows what I did, but I could have added a little more. [Normally about a spoon-full on each croissant]
  4. Roll up the croissants
  5. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the croissants as you like. [I say the more, the better, but it depends on how dessert-y you want it to be.]
  6. Bake about 13 minutes at 375 degrees, as the croissant packages say.
  7. Enjoy!

I've seen this recipe get more complicated with real pumpkin filling, spices, etc, but this is so easy! I couldn't stop eating them!

If you make them, let me know! Share a picture! Happy early Thanksgiving!

PS: If you're not crunched for time/money, you could always try the Cherpumple! ;)
