etv: truth or dare with rixton

It's a crazy busy time in the studios this month! Lots of people coming by and hopefully I'll be able to quickly share everything with you!

Rixton came in the other day [they sing "Me and My Broken Heart"] and totally blew me away with their talent and just overall charisma. I didn't have much time to play with them, but we did get to do a couple truth or dares.

A cover of "Old McDonald," an impression of their friend Ed Sheeran, and who they'd rather have join the group- Bieber or Kanye... are some of the highlights.

Check out their performances! I was a little disappointed they didn't do their cover of "Ignition Remix" but I'll let it slide this time.

Also, our 1-2-3-pose picture was one of the most ridiculous I've ever taken.. if not THE most ridic.

Sometimes artists come in and you think the same of them. Sometimes you're disappointed... but after meeting these guys, I'm definitely rooting for them more than before.

It's about damn time I get back into sharing all things 90s! What better day than Throwback Thursday?!

What if some of the biggest pop culture icons/happenings/etc happened in the 90s? Well... Cracked illustrated it for us and some of them are perfection.

watch: justin bieber kills an otis freestyle

Some of my friends in Texas [one in particular, anyway] will probably kick my ass for saying this, but damn! Justin Bieber KILLED this freestyle over the Otis beat! And I mean that in a GREAT way.

This radio station had NO faith in him, and he might have been a little shaky at first, but wait til he says "hold on, I'm not done." [Yes, even Bieber haters should watch this. If I'm delirious in thinking he's good, prove it.]



Homeboy just rapped a thank you speech with some serious swag, and looked HELLA CUTE doing it. Seriously. Imagine if he goes all Chris Brown on his next album and raps too? AND play the instruments? Tell me this kid doesn't deserve the fame he has, I dare you.

He amazes me sometimes. I swear I used to hate him, but nowadays it's hard to.

There have been a bunch of memes that feature Kanye West's lyrics, but I think I've [obviously] found my favorite. The "Kanye'd By the Bell" Tumblr takes bits of his songs and puts them on scenes from "Saved by the Bell" for moments of pure awesome.

I'm not sure if DJ X sent this to me because he's making fun of me for being white or because he knows on the inside I'm really not white, and either way I'm going to find this hysterical.

This guy did a parody of Kanye West's "All of the Lights," and it's all about white people and the stupid s#!* we do. Make sure make it to verse 3, that one is my favorite.



I mean, III don't like the beer for its taste... But I might get in your face for one reason or another after two cases. SO WHAT?!

It's a shame the chorus is the worst part, but I'm not mad about it. Someone texted me last night saying I should never be embarrassed of being white and I'M NOT! [Mostly because I'm not white, duh.]

watch: kanye and a miley impression on snl

Tweet I've never been a big watcher of Saturday Night Live. I normally just rely on the Internet to fill me in the next day.

That's what I did this week, and now I'm going to fill you in because it's worth it.

First of all- Kanye was on this week, and he [of course] performed "Runaway."



Really, Kanye? The same outfit? The same backdrop? All you did was add a couple ballerinas to spice it up a little bit?

Here I am worried about wearing the same outfit to work twice, and he's wearing the same eye-catching suit to two of his biggest performances of the year.

I'm not impressed.

What is impressive- Vanessa Bayer's Miley impression. It's spot on.



I don't know about the head tilt up thing, but everything else couldn't have been better. Agreed?

Who was the star of the show? Kanye or Vanessa? I say Vanessa... just sayin'.

what i think about the 2010 vma's because you care

Tweet I didn't get to watch it on time because of the game, so now I'm a little behind in getting a write-up on here.

I'm going to make this as short and sweet as possible.

First of all- What I think about the fashion and looks on the carpet... Via slideshow/captions:




And now- What I think about the show.

Gabi as the MTV TJ: A lot of people have been asking me what I thought about what she did. You want my honest opinion? Okay, fine. I think she looked amazing, and I think she handled herself well. She was assigned the job of tracking tweets and what everyone was talking about. It wasn't a HUGE role in the show, but for a first gig on MTV, one month after she got hired... I'd say she had the ultimate position and did a damn good job. Sure, I wish I was there... but homegirl is rockin' it, and if anyone deserved that position after a lot of hard work and sacrifices, it's her.

Chelsea Handler as a host: I think someone wrote some pretty corny lines for her, but overall, if you get her humor, she was pretty good! She wasn't as epic as I thought she'd be, but she wasn't anywhere near as bad as some are saying. I wouldn't mind her being the host again. Plus- she looked beautiful. Her skit with Jersey Shore- Lame. With Lindsay Lohan- totally cool because LiLo looked put together which made me smile.

Eminem/Rihanna: You should know I'm not a huge Eminem fan, and if I hear "Love the Way You Lie" one more time, I'M going to start some domestic violence. BUT... Eminem rocked it. He was into it, he was real, it felt good. Rihanna and her bright red hair were beautiful, she sang great, and she was clearly in the moment, too. Great start to the show! Watch if you haven't:




Justin Bieber: Everyone's freaking out because he didn't sing. Shut up. He put on a good show, with some crazy dance moves, and rocked out on the drums, which I had no idea he could do. He's a talented kid, but he's a kid. He used a handicap. Don't use it against him. He's too cute for you to do that, anyway. It's worth watching:




Usher: He sang, he danced, he kicked it old school... Kinda. The visuals [in every performance, really] were pretty freakin' neat, and his dancing is always on point. He was also singing, which wasn't perfect, but that's not what matters. Anyone who likes Usher should definitely watch.


Taylor Swift: Why do people still let her perform on award shows?! SERIOUSLY. She's terrible. She's boring. She can't sing. It's miserable to watch. It's so bad I won't even tell you to watch for a good laugh. She didn't get a good "comeback" to Kanye, nor did she entertain anyone. Epic fail.


Bruno Mars, B.o.B., and Hayley Williams... and Paramore: I'm becoming a big fan of Bruno Mars and B.o.B... Hayley... She's a meh to me for now. The group put on a great, quick collabo, though. She sounded real rough in the beginning, but pulled it together by the end with her band. I'd say it's worth your time:




Drake: I also don't understand why there's so much hype around him and his performances. If you want to say he's a genius and his songs are great.. fine... but his performances are always boring. If it weren't for Mary J. and the awesome visual effects, I would have fallen asleep watching it. Don't bother.


Kanye: A toast to all the douchebags?! Uh.. YES PLEASE! As much as I'm disappointed in the lack of an OMG moment, his red suit with the plain white stage and background were pretty phenomenal. It could be the first performance/song of Kanye's that I thoroughly enjoy. I think you should enjoy it, too. [Plus, the intro from Aziz is freakin' perfect]:




I think that's probably about all there is to talk about besides Gaga's "meat moment." I like what she stands for, I like her purpose in life, I like that she reps her "little monsters" to the fullest. I don't like her going ridiculously over the top like she does and did last night, but when she sang a quick preview of her new song/album, I couldn't help but give her props. Girl's got talent... Just wish she didn't mask it with all the other weirdness.




In conclusion ;) There were no moments that will have us talking for the next year. There were no moments that will have us saying "OMG REMEMBER THE 2010 VMA's!!!" In that sense, the show sucked. If you compare it to other award shows, it's still pretty awesome and entertaining.. minus the same three people winning all of the awards.

watch: taylor lautner defends girlfriend taylor swift

[Alright so apparently it's still not "confirmed" that the two young Taylors are dating, but let's be real... They're practically yelling it from the mountaintops.]

This weekend SNL featured Twilight star Taylor Lautner, who took the time during his monologue to stick up for birthday girl Taylor Swift.

Stick up for her why? The Kanye situation. Apparently no one is going to let this one go anytime soon.



Seriously, guys, it's been 4 months since he took over the stage, and it's time to give it up. T. Swift spoke her peace on SNL, the Country Music people spoke their minds, and the Internet gave up at least a week of its time.

It's over. Dead. Pounded into the ground. RIP. [Hopefully.]

On the other hand, your back tuck was pretty sweet, and even though you missed the kicks, I remain impressed, Taylor.

In case you were hiding in a cave for the past week, Taylor Swift hosted SNL this past weekend.

I don't think any of her performances really changed how I feel about her... A little dull, trying too hard, ya know.

Her monologue started out really stupid, then made me chuckle once or twice, but that's our little secret.



Nothing over the top funny, that's for sure.

What did catch my eye was when she played Kate Gosselin on The View. Everyone looked pretty dead-on, and it was relatively funny.



Whyyyy am I so sick of J&K yet I'm always mentioning them?! It's a terrible cycle! Help! Someone get us all out of it!

Anyway... Good job, Taylor... And your exploding hedgehog haircut imitation.
It's a shame Kanye wasn't really there to interrupt. It would have been classic.

I'm definitely sick of hearing about how Kanye interrupted Taylor's speech. Okay, it was stupid. He's a huge d-bag. Tell me something I don't know. The guy's been on my hate-list since day 1.

What I do find hilarious are A) the people who are talking about it and B) pictures people are making/things they're having him "say."

Did you hear Obama called him a jackass?! Yea, President Obama got caught saying Kanye West is a jackass, and it's just one reason why I love our president.



I wonder if Kanye will come out and say "President Obama does not like Kanye West"... Oh wait. Obama already did that for him.

Kelly Clarkson totally ripped Kanye a new butthole, too.

What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. Does it bother anyone else that Miley is singing about listening to a Jay Z song?! I'm a little split on this song. I think it could be really good, but it kinda bothers me that it's her singing it. Hmph.

These guys are finally debuting their first album! This is one of the first songs on the album, and it samples President Obama which is totally cool. I'm a fan. PLUS! Half of these guys is totally from the DMV! +10 points!

I don't think I've ever really wanted to spit on someone unless they dared me and didn't think I would do it, but I want to spit on Kanye.

He absolutely disgusts me. I hate everything that comes out of his mouth... And yes, that includes his music.

Homeboy decided it would be a good idea to name him the new King of Pop, just one month after MJ died.

You know everyone loves and respects Michael but times change. It’s so sad to see Michael gone but it makes a path for a new King of Pop and I’m willing to take that on. There’s nobody who can match me in sales and in respect so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael’s crown and become the new King. First there was Elvis, then there was Michael, now in the 21st century its Kanye’s time to rule. I have nothing but respect for Michael but someone needs to pick up where he left off and there’s nobody better than me to do that. I am the new King of Pop.

Get out, dude! Seriously... Leave the country and the world. You are NOTHING compared to Michael Jackson.

Can you dance? Can you sing? Can you be a decent human being that cares for something other than himself? No, no and no.

Besides the fact that Justin Timberlake is the reigning Prince of Pop, and Chris Brown is the Prince of R&B or something, isn't he?! They get first dibs on the crown if it were to ever be up for grabs, HOWEVER, it won't be... Ever.

This is one of those songs that I don't hate, but I probably won't be rollin' around bumpin to on my own time. It's not bad, though. I'm sure lots of people will be rollin' around with it. Plus, it's not exactly G-rated.

Imagine that, another song involving Flo Rida. Imagine that, I kinda like it. It's still nothing I'm super excited about, but it brings up the valid point... Why DO the good girls like bad boys?!?

This is homeboy's first single and he's rockin' with Kanye and John Legend on it?! Shooottt... He's set! He sounds a lot like Kanye to me, though. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing? It's not terrible but really, this isn't my thing.

Oh.. So THESE are the Sugababes. Ummm, I love it!! I like how some people are using old songs in the new ones now and revamping them. It's fun. I like what it's about and I think it has a good beat. I enjoy.


Tim McGraw--> It's a Business Doing Pleasure With You



Leave it to Tim McGraw to point out the truth! Never thought this would be a song, and never really thought of it the way the title does, but shoot! With some people it IS a business doing pleasure with them! I enjoy.

Brad has definitely done some better songs. I'm a little disappointed, actually. It's not terrible, I just want every one of his songs to be GREAT!

I normally don't listen to this music a whole lot, but for some reason I've been getting into it again. This isn't bad at all. I think anyone could like it, really. It's a little cheesy during the chorus, but whatever.

Britney's preparing for Europe

Her US tour is over, now she's gettin' ready to head over to Europe! [Where hopefully she will still do the same amount of ridiculous things.] She's in the Bahamas with her family [K-Fed not included, but the kids are] and her body is still looking GREAT!

Comeback= Check!

Heidi is looking for attention... Imagine that.

This time she's moved on to bikinis! And no, I don't necessarily mean on her... That's nothing new. She's designing them! They'll be debuted on June 1st alongside her co-designer Ashley Paige. [Just in time for the debut of "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Outta Here!"] The runway will feature all blonde models, of course.

Grey's Anatomy is becoming reality.

Okay, not the actual show, but the concept. The CW is trying to come up with a show about residents in a World-Class hospital. It will follow them around, show their hardwork, drama, everything. Maybe they'll even do surgery on each other! Now THAT'D be cool!.....

Robert Pattinson's kisses are really expensive.

I don't understand the fascination with this guy. What is attractive about him? His hair constantly looks like he just got out of a really bad sex session, and I've never really heard him talk or say anything great. Why are MULTIPLE people paying $20,000 for a kiss on the cheek from him?!

She was my favorite from AI Season 1. Had an INCREDIBLE voice. Then she had to go to rehab with Dr. Drew, and now... Well... It's hard to believe she's even the same person, really. Yikes.
