the real world dc: as we saw it, week 5!

The time has come again, darlings! Another episode of the Real World: DC has aired, and we've called one of the cast members to talk about it!

In case you missed it, last night's episode was all about the former MIA kids: Erika and Josh. Erika sang with The Cab and Josh... Well... He cheated on his girlfriend. As for what else went on: Of course they had to show more of Emily and Ty. Pfft. I'm over it.

My friend Patrick writes a good recap of the show every week, so find this week's here.

I must say... I love that where I watch the show each week has changed. I've gone from watching it with four of the roommates, to alone, to live-blogging it with We Love DC, to watching it with my DVR-having BFF and now to watching it with Josh and the boys of Wicked Liquid at Rhino.

It was definitely a good time! I love those boys! It was interesting to see their reactions to everything going down. Also: I advise you to listen to their music pronto, and come to their show at Heaven and Hell tomorrow night! I assume they'll go on around 10:30ish.

Anyway, tonight we recorded another Real World DC: As We Saw It podcast! It only made sense that we have the rockin' heartbreaker [that's actually part sweetheart, too] join us on the show!

Again: Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a beat! ;)

Thank you very very much to Josh for joining us this week! Good luck tomorrow! I'll be the obnoxious groupie-like girl with a video camera front row center tomorrow night!

why bill gates is my best friend

Everyone always tells me I'm an idiot for sticking with PCs, even after all the trouble they give me time and time again. I never really had any reason for not switching to a Mac other than the fact I'm broke... That is until now.

While Steve Jobs is busy coming up with some new product that apparently does everything and has the entire world laughing about its name, Bill Gates is doing one of my favorite past times at Sundance: Dancing on a table.

Is that a fist pump in the last one?! Oh man. It really IS taking over the dancing world! I need to perfect mine!

Anyway, now that I've realized why I'm okay with the fact that Windows Vista has crashed on me 6 times since starting to write this post, I can only imagine the magic that would happen if I attended the same party as my rich BFF.

He likes me! He really, really likes me!

Take THAT, Steve Jobs! Let's see YOU dance on a table!

watch eTV: finding the jersey shore cast

You shoulda known this was coming when I told you a million times I couldn't wait for the Jersey Shore cast to come to McFadden's last week!

So now the time has come. It's time to watch elizabethany chase after another cast from MTV: The Jersey Shore. Bring on the poofs, make-up, fist pumping, and Jaega Bombs!

Now I just hope I get another chance with some of the others! If Vinny comes- He's mine!

carrie underwood looks not-so-hott!

I thought I'd never see the day that I'd say this, but in a recent red carpet walk, Carrie Underwood did not look good!

Okay, okay.... I guess technically she still looked decent, but definitely not up to her perfect par!

It was her first public outing with new hubby-to-be Mike Fisher at the Bell Sens Soiree Carnaval Mystique fundraiser for the Sens Foundation, and her make-up, hair, gothic outfit, everything was looking rough.

Maybe this was just a night of not being photogenic, maybe she had a little too much makeup, or maybe I don't like her hairdo, but I'm disappointed in her uber pale, Amish funeral look she's got goin' on.

It's okay, though... You can forgive someone for not looking perfect once. Just don't do it again cuz then it's shame on me.

love,
elizabethany

PS: In other couples looking rough on the red carpet news, what the H is Amber Rose wearing?! Sure, her ass looks great... But this is not a cute dress. Kanye's look isn't so hott either.

happy birthday to ellen!

So it's my BFF Ellen's 52nd Birthday today, which means we have to celebrate somehow, right?!

I figure I'll just share some videos from her show within the last week or so, since I can't physically be with her. [Though I am positive she'd invite me to any party she has, she just knows I can't afford to take the time to go out there.... She understands.]

Remember last year when Dennis Quaid was on her show and went to Starbucks?! It was freakin' GREAT! So, of course, she brought him back for more!

I'm glad it didn't become one of those "it's already been done, it can't be funny again" things... It could have been, and it probably will be if they do it again, but this one was just as great!

Next.. I'm OBSESSED with Modern Family. I'm lucky enough to have someone who will record shows so I can watch them [unless he gets sick of having "too much" on his DVR]. It's amazingly hilarious and you need to watch it. ANYWAY, back to Ellen.

She had Sofia Vergara on and of course, made her seem like an amazing, super funny person [which she probably is with or without E]. If I were a guy, I'd be in love right now.

True or false?: You want to do her right now.

And finally- Ellen's newest workout discovery- The 3 Minute Legs. Any time she finds a new workout device, it's like comedy magic.

[Side note: I don't see that thing working... But do the funny ones ever work?!]

Thank you, Ellen, for being my best [TV] friend, making me laugh, and giving me someone with a good reputation that I wouldn't mind going gay for. Happy Birthday!

greg oden's junk is for the ladies' pleasure

Oh boy.

It's been a long while since I've had a NSFW post for the ladies.. They're very few and far between, unfortunately.

Welp... Ladies... Here ya go. NBA star Greg Oden's stuff is front row and center in a couple pictures that were leaked by some girl he probably cheated on. [When are people going to learn that A) you should never send nakey pictures, period. and B) if you're going to, you better treat that person right for life.]

It's XXX rated so uh.... Yeah. Click here.

[I still don't know how to talk after looking... Yikes.]

You're welcome.

Good morning and Happy 52nd Birthday to Ellen DeGeneres!! Lots to share today!

  • Missing Conan already? Check out some of his best moments.
  • The Jersey Shore kids want more money... On top of the 10k to host a fist pumping competition, of course.
  • Sometimes I forget how much I really miss the Babysitter's Club... Where are they now?!
  • Don't do it. Don't be one of the most annoying people in the bar.
  • The rules for calling in sick... Which I've pretty much mastered.
  • Careful, boys... There's a reason your girl is offering to have a threesome.
  • More embarrassing than getting arrested: Getting arrested in a ridiculous costume.
  • The history of cougars, because you know you love them.
  • Yet another random, hilarious blog to keep up with: Everything the Sleep Talking Man says.
  • OMG. Here are reasons to get excited for the Olympics, ladies.
  • I apologize in advance for this picture of Donatella Versacce that is sure to make you barf in your mouth.
  • Just because:
  • Ninja Turtle feet?! Grosssss.
  • Rihanna looked really pretty at the NRJ Awards this weekend.
  • Before showing a TV on HSN, it's probably a good idea to figure out what's going to be shown on that TV.

  • Ohhh weatherman FAIL! ...Unless he really is 9 inches long, of course.

  • Want to laugh over something silly?!

  • Sledding behind a train?! Woah. You win badass of the year.

  • Oh my.

  • I want one. NOW.

  • To finish it off, the commercial everyone's been talking about.

Enjoy your Tuesday, friends! Stay tuned for eTV's Finding the Jersey Shore Cast! Yeah, I said it.

elizabethany as a trendsetter... kinda

I'll be honest... There's nothing about me that's very fashionable, girly, or a little bit trendsetter. I don't have the money, time, eye, anything to be any of the above. Plus, I'm way more "guy" than I am "girl."

Anyway, a couple months ago, I read in Elle Magazine that glitter was back in, and I have totally ran with it. I want glitter everywhere. No one else seems to love this little "trend" like I do right now, so that's why I think I'm finally ahead of the pack on this one.

My favorite glitter accessory: Nail polish.

Girls... Seriously... I hope you didn't throw away all that ridiculous glitter nail polish from Middle School because it is so great nowadays, too! I. Love. It.

You can't see it in that picture very well, but you should know that when I wore this polish in Morgantown, it was a huge hit! The best part: It was $2!

Take after me and start wearing lots and lots of glitter. I am positive that it will make this place we call Earth a much more fun and sparkly place! ;)

watch: super mario bros jersey shore

Let's be honest... We're not exactly getting sick of all-things-Jersey Shore. [Though I am certain their 15 minutes will come to an abrupt halt sometime in the near future.]

That being said, we also all love everything Mario Brothers. So, it only makes sense that some bored geniuses come up with the Super Mario Brothers' version of Jersey Shore.

Just another spoof that makes us all laugh, and probably has the cast on the floor dying.

Do I think it could have been done a little better? Absolutely. There could have been more Mario Bros hilarity... But am I out making a better one? No sir.

So thank you to the people who made this video, and will probably continue to make more. All of their other videos are pretty freakin' funny, too.

nifty: lady gaga cupcakes

These may not be the most delicious looking cookies I've ever seen, but they're absolutely the best.

Someone decided to make a batch of cookies in which they are all very different. Why? Because they're supposed to match each of Lady Gaga's outrageous outfits.

See if you can figure out which cookie matches which of her infamous outfits, then click here to check your answers and see more!

Whoever created these better copyright, patent, whatever they gotta do to earn the rights to such an idea! I can imagine this becoming as big as the many flavors of Jelly Bellys. [Including having some not-so-appetizing versions]

watch: most epic "save the date" ever

Alright everyone... It's time to give up. You're not going to have the coolest dream wedding, you're not going to do the best wedding dance ever or have the best "I Do", and now you're not going to have the most clever "Save the Date" invite.

Jeff and Erin have you beat. They've turned their wedding into a movie of sorts, and this trailer is impossible to outdo. [Yes, some things are in fact impossible.]

I dare anyone to try and do something better, but I don't see it possible. The simple fact that it started out commenting about their incredibly awkward height difference gives them the Oscar.

Hmph. All I've ever wanted to do was be the best at something viral when it comes to the wedding. Fail.

the real world dc: as we saw it, week 4!

Hello all!

I'm sorry we had to disappoint you last week with the lack of a new podcast, but there were some issues we had to try and overcome. Luckily, we made it happen this week!

As you know, Callie took quite the emotional beat down in last week's episode but managed to get through it with the help of not only her roommates at the time, but Twitter followers now! Then, she helped Andrew get his dream snuggle buddy for a week or two on this week's episode.

Basically, it made sense that we call her for our second episode of The Real World DC: As We Saw It. Plus... I owe her a major apology after this summer.

Listen to the channel below, and make sure to subscribe via iTunes! Also: There's a bonus podcast of our outtakes before we actually talked to the blonde bombshell.

Also: Thanks to all who emailed in! Keep the questions coming! They're definitely helpful and entertaining! Email--> RWDC.AsWeSawIt[at]gmail[dot]com!!

i spy: a lexus through a wall

I had the one of the best mornings ever this morning, and it's not because I made a lot of money at work or something great happened to me... It's because I saw something that I always hear about, but never witness.

Someone hit the gas instead of the brakes, and ran right into Cue Club in Annandale.

PS: It was a Lexus. PPS: She was apparently backing into her spot, didn't stop, ran right over the curb, and took out the brick wall...... WHAT?!

I was at work a couple doors down when it happened, but my boss told me to forget about what I was doing and rush down to get some pictures. She asked me if I had my camera on me to get good ones.... Silly manager... I always have my camera!

How. Ridiculous. The driver was hiding out in the bar so no one would see them while all of the firefighters and everyone literally laughed. How could you not?!

Seriously... I read about these stories all the time, and Kane loves playing that sweet song when he hears these stories, but I never expected to see a car literally inside a building, inches away from playing a game of pool.

Congratulations, lady... You win awesomest person in my life this week.

elizabethany

nifty: itrust iphone app

Ohhh.. Just what we've always wanted... A gadget to tell us if our significant other was snoopin' around in our stuff!

The iTrust iPod app will totally help you out! They made it so you can see exactly what they were trying to get into while you were making them dinner in the kitchen.

I LOVE it. It sucks because now I know I better not even think about trying to snoop around, but it's okay because I learned my lesson a very long time ago. When you snoop, you find things you don't want to see and you cry. And who wants to cry?! Not this girl.

It's a shame my phone isn't my iPod, because I would absolutely buy it and leave it laying around to see what my nosey mother would try to look at.

There really is an app for everything.

morning hangover 012110

Good morning, dolls! Good news: TOMORROW marks the weekend! Even more exciting: It's National Cheese Day!!

  • YES! My dream come true! VA might up the speed limits!
  • Also coming to VA: Legalized Mary Jane!

  • Sometimes sexting is better than the real thing. No really, it is.
  • The shirts everyone's going to be wanting: Pants on the Ground shirts.
  • Want to know when someone defriends you? There was an app for that, until Facebook banned it. Facebook FAIL.
  • Super stressed? Calm down, and try one of these easy steps to relax.
  • 15 questions that us females are itching to ask you on a first date, so why don't you just tell us and spare the awkwardness.
  • Think your man is on the down-low?! [AKA maybe wanting some guys on the side, too] Here are the signs to look for.
  • Also: Signs he might be an egomaniac... Though it should be easy to tell.
  • Tonight's the finale of the Jersey Shore... How well do you know your guido language?!
  • BONUS: Want to see pictures from the Jersey Shore kids being at McFadden's DC? Thank you, Metromix.
  • AND! According to JWoww's pictures, it wasn't a fun, let's-all-hang-out scene.
  • Instead of d-bags "photo-bombing," little kids are doing it...
  • I woulda said "Frail Blog" was wrong, until I saw this masterpiece:
  • Just because: How to write a passive aggressive note.
  • Also: Owl Pony in mid flight
  • What irony! A cat's spots look like a cat!
  • Meet Patches... The horse that rides around in a car.

  • Want the best man cave ever?! You have some competition:

  • This is freakin' awesome. Can someone please do it for DC?!

  • Hilarious: Pranking a TV church, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air style.

  • O...M....G. This kid thinks he's a rockstar.... But he's wearing Aero clothes! I almost just fell out of my chair when I saw this.

Sidenote: I wish I knew what he was saying.

That's all for now! Talk to you later!
