watch etv: a parody of the nicki minaj/mariah carey american idol fight

It was beyond obvious that someone was going to die at the new American Idol table as soon as they announced who'd be sitting there... I'm just surprised Mariah doesn't have the balls to fight back.

Anyway, we saw what happened in real life, now see our ridiculous recreation:

I mean... Just LOOK at my weave. But you know damn well Nicki has worn that before.

Yes, I get paid to do this kinda stuff.

eb style: feather earrings and snake skin

For the 3OH!3 and Outasight concert last week, I couldn't figure out what the h I wanted to wear, until I saw my "Ke$ha earrings."

They're super long, colorful feathers that I got to dress up as her one night. I thought I'd never wear them again, but then I kinda started to love them. All I needed was a reason to stick those suckers in the holes.

With inspiration from the leopard print in the feathers, I paired my super old snakeskin heels with mint jeans to match the pretty blue feather.

The shoes are so old I can't tell you wear I got them or how much... All I know is I found them in the clearance section once upon a time [like 75% of my shoes]. The shiny shirt is from TJ Maxx for $9, and the earrings are from Forever 21 for $4. And of course- my new favorite mint jeans from Target clearance for $12. [Don't mind the thick hair tie around my wrist. It's one of those sweet twistbands from Birchbox.]

The hardest thing for me when getting dressed is just finding a little inspiration. If I don't find something on Pinterest that I want to use or one article I love, I stare blankly at my drawers hoping for something to jump on me. Thank goodness I spotted these feathers so I could feel slightly rocker-ish [okay, maybe not really], but still totally me.

And just because I don't feel very "me" while standing and smiling, my coworkers made me take this:

on twitter: adding "in bed" to tv shows

WAY back when, we added "in bed" to slogans, and it was a freaking blast! I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to come back with another thing to add "in bed" to, but you better believe that won't happen again.

LOVED all of the answers online and on air, but here are my faves from the Twitter world.

Thanks to everyone who participated! Hopefully I got everyone included in the Storify!

IT'S SO FUN!

an ode to now cd's: 20 reasons why they're da bomb

SAY IT AIN'T SO! Rumor has it NOW CD's could be coming to an end after nearly 30 awesome years.

I feel like their credibility or coolness has faded over the years, but I'm here to remind you how awesome they really were, especially the first 20.

Here are 20[+] reasons/proof with their corresponding editions of the United States' "NOW That's What I Call Music!" CD.

  1. An angry song that anyone can like.
  2. Taught us we might dance the funky chicken on our 75th wedding anniversary, but we shouldn't congratulate ourselves too much.
  3. Doing it all for the Nookie= A-OK.
  4. Macy Gray and all her raspiness.
  5. Don't let your memory of soulDecision be Faded.
  6. All Around the World, it as all Yellow.
  7. Hataz gon' hate.
  8. Mandy Moore is in fact crush-worthy.
  9. One name: Ja Rule.
  10. Takin it old school and shakin' it like that.
  11. Jennifer Love Hewitt was a singer.
  12. Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez, though separate, both on one album. [Eh hum. Pretty sure this proves NSYNC rules. If not, see the end of this post.]

  13. We know we can be what we wanna be.
  14. The CD's are just... like WO.
  15. The first F-you break up song.
  16. And then there was Petey Pablo.
  17. and the debut of Ashlee Simpson.
  18. There was always a little country music mixed in.
  19. They got you Feelin Good.
  20. The debut of Rihanna Must Be Nice, and I think I'd Lose Control if I'd only pick one song from this edition that Phunk'd With My Heart.
And if that isn't enough to remember its awesomeness, you should know that NINE BACK TO BACK CD's had Justin Timberlake music... whether it was NSYNC or solo. That's just beautiful... and proof he needs to get his ass back in the studio.

hanging out with 3OH!3 and american idol's chris richardson

It's been another busy couple of days with the station! On Thursday, we made a guest appearance at Landstown Middle School's pep rally. [More on that later this week. It was a BLAST, and I'm working on the video!] Friday was a show with 3OH!3 and Outasight in Norfolk.

While I didn't get to do an "8 Questions" video with either of them, they were still awesome guys to meet and see perform at the Norva.

Sean and Nat of 3OH!3

Outasight [Yea, it's just one guy. I had no idea either.]

3OH!3's show! Note the awesome wolves with laser eyes. Super sweet.

I also showed the guys of 3OH!3 my friend Ryan's parody of their song "My First Kiss," and rightfully so, they thought it was awesomely ridiculous. They do in fact watch as many parodies of their songs! I think that's neat.

Today I was super excited to have Chris Richardson stop by the studio. [He was season 6 of American Idol.] Now he's signed by YMCMB and promoting his first single "Joy and Pain."

He sang the song in the studio [BTW, I LOVE this song... it may or may not because I think he's hott and his voice is amazing, but it's good.] The guys also gave him a challenge of playing drums made out of Styrofoam cups.. and he did it, marvelously. Check it:

He's a Chesapeake boy, so I'm sure he'll be around some more, and I can't wait for that. Yummy.
