what i wore last week: skater dresses and gold touches

There's actually no real theme or similarity in my outfits from last week, but here it goes:

I'm always looking for something to wear with this tank cuz it's really an odd color... but after being Pinspired by this outfit, I was pumped. It also inspired me to do an entire week [this one we're living in right now] of white after Labor Day. There's no reason this outfit can't be worn well into fall.

This shirt is really not flattering, and I'm not sure if everything matches... but it was Redskins gameday and I needed some burgundy and gold. My Hail Yeah earrings and a middle part made me happy.

Friday was the only day of the holiday weekend I actually got dressed... the rest of the days were spent in a bathing suit. I found this dress last week and had to get it. I'll be able to wear it during any season! Plus, I'm a bit obsessed with the skater dresses/skirts right now because they hide the lower half.

what i wore last week- a whole lot of denim on clearance

Most of last week was spent working on the beach, so I didn't really have to get dressed much beyond Wednesday, but here's what I had on the first half of the week!

This is quite possibly the easiest outfit I've put up, and it's obvious.

I finally got a denim vest that [mostly] fits and I went a little happy with it last week. Since it's similar in color to my mint jeans, I wanted something super contrasting underneath. Enter one of my favorite color combos of the season: Coral and mint/turquoise.

what i wore last week: turning old into new

While I didn't spend a lot of time getting dressed last week [I had a lot of morning meetings that had me throwing on t-shirts or bathing suits...], I did manage to throw a couple outfits together with the quickness.

When time is limited, I tend to forget about the details and just try to find some go-to items to throw together.

I tried mixing two patterns, which really requires very little accessories/add-ons in my opinion. Now that I see this outfit, I realize how unflattering it is... but I thought the patterns were fun!

This dress is really old. I probably got it from Rue 21 in college or something. It definitely shows its age sometimes, but it's so comfortable and skinnifying, I don't care. I originally paired it with leopard flats, but I wanted a matching necklace which I didn't have... so I went with the black and white as usual.

-to be honest, I just wore flops since it was pouring all night.

I got this awesome NYX glitter palette in ipsy one month and have been waiting for the right time to try it... hellooo glitter make-up in the 90s/early 00s! It was perfect! I wish I had known it clumped up so much, but luckily you couldn't tell unless I fell asleep right in front of your face.

what i wore last week- jungles, boyfriends, and neon

Seems like some of you enjoy creepin' on my daily outfits, so I'm gonna continue making it easy for ya!

Neon is totally my staple this summer. I'm obsessed. The easiest outfit ever:

I LOVE this skirt and really need to wear it more, but had a reason to try hard when Emblem3 and MKTO came to the studios. Normally I'd never wear those shoes with the outfit, but I felt it was fitting for the day, and I actually got compliments from our special visitors!

Still trying to figure out the best way to make boyfriend jeans look good. They're certainly not the most flattering pants I own, but they're comfortable! Of course I took every bit of that comfort away when putting on heels.

A day at the beach bars/pools calls for a presentable outfit but easy to wear if wet [or drunk]. Skater skirts are my latest obsession because you can wear em with crop tops or bathing suit tops and still feel relatively covered. [Although this picture makes me feel like they're not flattering at all] With big earrings and lipstain, you're good to go!

Normally plan on putting these up on Mondays, but I've been hella busy, so you're going to forgive me. 

Now that I'm forgiven, here's what I put on my bod this week. 

MONDAY: 

This tank is one of my go-to's this summer. It cost me under $10, and I've probably worn it almost 10 times. It's perfect for over bathing suits, with jeans, with colored pants... anything. It's also the best thing I own for really hot days.

This outfit totally doesn't photograph well, but I like the vibe when I look at it... it's a "risk" of sorts, but I'm gonna roll with it anyway tonight.

I need to get better about accessorizing, but it's hard to do when you don't have many options to work with. Still, I see how much it really adds to others' outfits on Pinterest. 

This whole fashion thing is still something I'm not a pro at, but hopefully we're all learning together.
