wearing: sweater and leather

It was a little warmer the past couple days, so I didn't need a full coat, which made it perfect for a leather jacket!

I paired my favorite one from LC at Kohl's with my new go-to pants... the olive jeans from Charlotte Russe.

I like that my sweater is such a deep v and the jacket has that buckle/snap at the top... it creates a fake cutout of sorts, right?!

The truth is.. I really wanna start posting a bajillion more outfit posts, but I've put on a quick 10 pounds while off my meds [I literally can't stop eating. I'd go to rehab if I could], so pictures aren't my favorite thing right now... but I'm working on it! Gotta work those angles, right?! [And before you're all "shut up, you can't even tell" or something, YOU shut up. :) I'm not looking for pity or saying I'm fat.. just opening up/sharing my weight fluctuation issues.]

Also... I felt like this outfit was really cute when I wore it yesterday, but now I'm realizing it's just like all the other outfits that everyone loves on Pinterest- mostly pretty plain. WHATEVER. I LIKE PLAIN, OKAY.

outfit: simple and pretty

Jane.com is a new drug. SO many good deals from a bunch of different boutiques, so even if I don't end up buying whatever it is they offer, I'm finding a bunch of cute new websites!

My favorite deals: necklaces. I'll be honest... I normally put a bunch of them in my cart and then get frustrated with $3 shipping and don't end up doing it, but that's cuz I'm hella cheap. When I saw this cute pink necklace [I've been in need of one for two years at least] I didn't hesitate. 

The second it came in the mail, I paired it with this simple gray tee that I wear when I don't feel like trying and new flats I got from American Eagle for $5! Hot pink lip gloss from ipsy made me feel pretty instead of super casual.

I don't typically think of putting gray with nude colors, but I really liked this casual and simple outfit.. especially when it totaled out at $43 with the $20 LC jacket from Kohl's. And to fancy it up a little, I also did braids on both sides of my head into the ponytail, but of course you can't tell in these pictures.

Oh... and don't judge me for the boxes everywhere. I still haven't unpacked everything... ugh.

loving: lauren conrad's november collection

New month means new ipsy and Birchbox.. and new LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl's! 

It's definitely not my favorite month of new stuff from her, but you know she can make anything look awesome.

This dress is totally gorgeous and I love it for Thanksgiving or holidays.. with a jacket of course.

Bows! I'm tellin' ya.. I'm diggin these everywhere.

This dress is presh, but like.... winter?

Minus the shoes, finally something we can wear in the winter on the East Coast... and I won't even be mad about all the light colors.

When it comes to her clothes, as much as I love seeing the new stuff every month, I've learned to be patient and keep my eyes on Kohls.com. A lot of her stuff ends up in Clearance and that's when I scoop it.

what i've been wearing- the end of summer

I've been pretty good about getting dressed and looking nice every day, but I've been awful at taking pictures... go figure.

Anyway, here's a look at some things I've been seen in.

This dress is the product of really good advertising. I saw an ad for this ASOS dress being $16 on Facebook, and less than five minutes later it was on its way to me. I really do love the skater style dresses and skirts right now.. the only downside is if it's windy- you're goodies are bound to show.

This necklace is something that's gonna transform my usual not-so-girly fashion, I feel... but I also plan on using it to just spruce up some more plain outfits. I love the contrast of texture it has with my new crochet tank.

My first day at work yesterday was like the first day of school. I was so excited to go back to a place and people I knew, but have all new experiences... and I couldn't decide what I wanted to wear! Thanks to a bunch of you commenting on this awesome new necklace from my Rue21 haul, I built the outfit around it.

I'm in love with this whole "get a peek at the new collection every month" thing. It's gonna do damage to my wallet, but whatever.

what i wore last week- a whole lot of denim on clearance

Most of last week was spent working on the beach, so I didn't really have to get dressed much beyond Wednesday, but here's what I had on the first half of the week!

This is quite possibly the easiest outfit I've put up, and it's obvious.

I finally got a denim vest that [mostly] fits and I went a little happy with it last week. Since it's similar in color to my mint jeans, I wanted something super contrasting underneath. Enter one of my favorite color combos of the season: Coral and mint/turquoise.

OMG WHAT. Are we going to get new clothes at Kohl's every month now?! My credit card is going to be so pissed. [Or happy, I guess... since it's going to rack up some interest.]

the first look at lauren conrad's summer kohl's line

Eep! These days are always exciting for me! It's a lot like getting a new Delia's catalogue way back in the day. I wait all season for a look at Lauren Conrad's next line of clothes, drool over them when they come out, then cry when I go to buy them and decide I really can't afford a $60 dress.

Still... it's fun to drool over them when they do come out! Here are some of my favorites for the summer line!

This is so simple, and if I can just get over my personal rule of not wearing long sleeves in the summer, I can dig it!

This is absolutely gorgeous. For anyone looking for a white lace dress to buy, I'd say this is the one.

Maybe my favorite of the sneak peek... It's so different from anything I wear, but it's also so cute and versatile.

These crochet tanks are everywhere, and I'm not mad about it. They make looking like a hippy totally acceptable.

These were screenshots from her photoshoot video. That orange dress needs to be mine.

I read an article about her not long ago and she said she was realizing she needed to make more clothes that fit everyone, not just people like her. It's pretty obvious she's starting to make more clothes that are suitable for middle aged women who want to be "hip." I'm not mad about it, though. They're all still awesome.

ebfashion: i wore my first maxi dress!

Yes, I think it's important to acknowledge my big-girl moment of finally buying and wearing a maxi dress. I've seen them all over the place, always thought they were great, but felt like I was going to prom when I tried them on.

Then I found the perfect one in Kohl's, and I knew it was my time to shine.

Crushfest was Sunday [AKA another boozefest, this time centered around Virginia Beach's favorite drink- the Orange Crush], the weather was about 70 degrees and perfect. Apparently I wasn't the only one thinking this way! We didn't plan on being twinsies for the day, but I found me a striped sista!

[That's my friend Alex. She's in radio too, but I shouldn't tell you that cuz she's technically my competition until the end of the month.]

-Apt 9 dress from Kohl's for $10 [I had 10 Kohls bucks] [in blue/similar]

-belt $1.50 from Charlotte Russe [similar]

-earrings free from Santa, but he made them at Burlington

-I had on braided flip flops the same coral color before I lost them in the ocean. Luckily I only paid about $2 for them when I worked at Aeropostale. [similar]

TOTAL: $14!

I can't believe that dress is Apt 9, first of all. I also can't believe how well it fits or how flattering it is. Beyond wearing it the simple way like this, I totally plan on wearing shirts over it to make it look like a skirt. It's so versatile, I'm seriously in love already.

lauren conrad's spring line is revealed!

AH! It's time to drool, and countdown the days til spring collections are on clearance at Kohl's. LC released the first looks at her newest line, and as usual, I'm OBSESSED!

Get ready for a lot of polka dots! I'm so not mad about it.

These jeans, I need them. And this entire outfit for the 4th of July.

A little unsure how I feel about these jeans, but on her, I love them! Obviously.

She had two outfits in hot pink jeans, and I am obsessed. So glad I already have some, now I just need to take notes on the outfits!

I think I like this high-low maxi skirt style... especially after seeing a pin that shows you how to wear them as skirts, shirts, dresses, and halter tops. Awesome.

This whole picture right here... I need it. The polka dot jeans matched with stripes. The carefree hair. The adorable pup. GET IN MY HOUSE.

Those are just my six favorites, but they represent the whole line pretty well [unless you're a dress person... they're a little too girly/feminine for me this time around].

If anyone wants to surprise me with a free shopping spree at Kohl's, I'd fully appreciate it.
