what i've been wearing- the end of summer

I've been pretty good about getting dressed and looking nice every day, but I've been awful at taking pictures... go figure.

Anyway, here's a look at some things I've been seen in.

This dress is the product of really good advertising. I saw an ad for this ASOS dress being $16 on Facebook, and less than five minutes later it was on its way to me. I really do love the skater style dresses and skirts right now.. the only downside is if it's windy- you're goodies are bound to show.

This necklace is something that's gonna transform my usual not-so-girly fashion, I feel... but I also plan on using it to just spruce up some more plain outfits. I love the contrast of texture it has with my new crochet tank.

My first day at work yesterday was like the first day of school. I was so excited to go back to a place and people I knew, but have all new experiences... and I couldn't decide what I wanted to wear! jennifer lopez's line for kohls is to die for

Somehow I missed the news that Jennifer Lopez and Kohl's had teamed up, but that doesn't matter because now that there are a few sneak peeks of the line coming out on September 7, I'm sharing.

I HAVE to! I'm obsessed with everything she is going to be putting out. I thought Kohl's was steppin' up their game with LC's line, but [even though I hate to say this] I think Jennifer Lopez's line is better! It's certainly true for this upcoming fall season, anyway.

Here are some of my favorites:

I can't even pick a favorite. I love it ALL! I have definitely loved JLo's fashion lately, so it's no surprise I love it... but I'm seriously about to start counting down the days til it's released.

I should also probably make plans to rob a few banks or friends so that I can afford some of it.

jlo's imperfections make her perfect

I love when you see celebs looking gorgeous, confident, and real... Without touch ups and letting the imperfections show.

J.Lo looks absolutely amazing on the set of 106 n Park. Her dress is scandalous, with cut outs in a place I've never seen them, and it made me notice two things: She's still got that BOOTY, and she's got cellulite on her thighs.

It may sound like I'm hating, but I'm really not. I've been getting super self conscious about my legs for the first time in my life, and knowing that she has one of the best bodies in the game right now and has the cheese, is comforting for me and females like me everywhere.

So thank you, J.Lo, for really being a beauty inspiration and [at least seemingly] being an amazingly genuine person lately.

It's time for People's annual "Most Beautiful People" issue!

This year's winner isss....


Jennifer Lopez! [I can't even be mad about this. She is freaking beautiful.. And maybe looking better than ever in these pictures.]

As much as she may have complained about American Idol not being her ultimate comeback move, she better look again. She's back and beautiful because of that show.

Still, in the article she talks about being a mom and how that look makes her feel the best.

"That's when I'm my happiest. Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up. It's so much better."

WORD, girl. I agree on that part.

She also had something to say about her "diva" reputation:

This is just getting annoying. It's obvious that Beyonce's team is behind this video because they've got Lady Gaga wearing a leotard, just like Beyonce does in every video. How many outfits can one turn into a leotard?! Gaga's weirdness came through a little, but she seems more normal than anything for once. She's actually struggling to keep up with B's opening and closing of the legs rhythm. I'm hating. Hard.


Rihanna--> Wait Your Turn



Definitely a dark video, wow. I'm not sure how I feel about the song... I don't think I love it, to be honest. It's meh.


Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull--> Fresh Out the Oven



I can't remember if I've posted this before or not, but just in case you missed it either way, it's worth a listen. I'm rooting for a JLo comeback big time!


Space Cowboy--> Party Like Animal



If you like the sorta-techno sound, you'll like this song, I think. I'm indifferent, but it's not bad.


Weezer--> I Want You To



Apparently this is going to be a huge song... Maybe I'm in a bad mood, but I don't get why.


Cavo--> Let It Go



This is a nice little song from the Transformers soundtrack. I can totally rock out in my car and sing at the top of my lungs to it, I think.

A LOT of people have been talking about how they're diggin' this song, and I can't disagree. I thought John Mayer's time was over after all the random publicity he got for random things, but he's stickin' around.

Is this what we do now? Make two songs with two people, about the same thing, but each person gets one song...? Haterade comin' up soon.


Ludacris--> How Low



This song totally makes me laugh AND dance. I heart Luda. He gives me good songs to dance to and pretend like I know.

You right, Mary.. No one does it better than you.... :-P She's good. Nothing else needs to be said.

Have I ever mentioned how in love I am with Ne-Yo?! No exception here.

I like the lyrics, they're funny... But this band isn't striking me as anything new or different. I can get down to it, though.

This is perfect for me right now! I feel like summer just ended [a little late for the realization, I know] and I miss it. It's a little on the sad side, but it's cute. Love.

This is a cute song for girls, by a girl. I'll listen many times.

Is this going to be the replacement for last summer's "No Air"? If it is, I will hate it in another month. For now, it's not terrible. It grows on ya.

J Lo is back!? Well, Jennifer Lopez, I guess. It doesn't live up to her old stuff by any means, but it's not a "Oh no this can't be her comeback single" either. It could definitely get some plays.


Rihanna ft. Lady GaGa--> Silly Boy



Oh boy... These two combining could definitely take over the radio in a heartbeat. This song is too T Pain microphone for me, though. [And yes, that's how I will always refer to that sound.] Why'd they have to use it the WHOLE time?! The lyrics are fun, and I'm sure it'll do well, but I have that pet peeve.


Taylor Swift--> You Belong With Me



Ugh... Could I be falling into the Taylor Swift trap?! I CAN'T! NO! HOLD BACK, BETH!! This is a cute video, cute song... But it's typical. So typical. And will be played on every radio station and probably be on the next Now CD.


Justin Beiber--> One Time



This kid is FIFTEEN!!!! So basically.. The next Jesse McCartney? He's even got the long, shaggy, dirty blonde hair. And oh yeah, he hangs out with Usher on the reg apparently. He's pretty freakin' good!


Colby O'Donis--> I Wanna Touch You



As much as I didn't like this guy in real life, I'm not going to hate on this song. The lyrics are a lil lame at parts, but overall, I can dig it.


Paul Wall ft. Webbie and Mouse--> Bizzy Body



Here's another song that's stupid, but is going to be all over the clubs, and people are going to LOVE IT when it's played. One question: What kinda names are Webbie and Mouse?!


David Rush ft. Pitbull and Kevin Rudolf--> Shooting Star [Party Rock Remix]



This song immediately got me bumpin, not even gonna lie. Am I conforming to something, or just in the mood to dance? Downloaded!


Evan Taubenfield--> Boy Meets Girl



This guy is the former lead guitarist for Avril Lavigne and I'm bothered by this song. He sounds like he's 12, the song sounds like it was written by someone 12, and... No. It's just awkward. I didn't listen to much of it, and I made up my mind before giving it much of a chance, but I'll let you decide for yourself.

They're back!! Their new album is called "the E.N.D." aka Energy Never Dies. This is the new single. Ever since I've fallen in love with everything will.i.am does, I'm in love with them too... No matter how undecided I am about Fergie. This is fun. I enjoy that they're back.


Brick & Lace--> Bad to Di Bone



A new female R&B duo! I like it. It's a good, fun beat. [A lot like everything else we've been hearing, lately.. But who cares] They might steal people's hearts as a duo before what's left of DK can.


KeKe J ft. Ace Hood--> Neck Breaker



Another good dance/party beat. It's a song for the ladies who know they're somethin' special, and the guys who know a girl who is. I can dig it. :-P


NKOTB--> 2 In the Morning



Finally we hear something else besides Summertime. It's okay. I do like it.. But I don't know how other people will feel about it, and I'm not sure I can see it being played as much as their first comeback single. Maybe I'll be wrong though.

J.Lo is BACK! Or.. Jenny is.. Wait. Jennifer. Right... Mother of twins. Anyways, she's still talkin' bout going back to the hood, and doin' it til the windows break so maybe she's still the same her! Same party/dance type beat as a lot of songs out right now.. But I still don't know that I'm complaining.


The Fray--> Heartless

Yes, the Fray covered a Kanye song. And I'm lovin' it. I like it a lot better than Kanye's version, but that was never very hard to accomplish. Ahh, I really do enjoy it, though. I understand all of the words so much better!

Ladies- If you could make your body from an array of parts from different celebrities, what from whom would you use?
Fellas- Whose body parts would you want your lady to have?

Well, apparently the NY Post knows the answer.. Or answers, if you will.

The lips women want are, can you believe it?!.. Angelina Jolie!! Imagine that.

And the boobs women desire aren't a huge surprise either. Duh-Duh-Dunnn.. Jessica Simpson!

Okay, nothing you haven't heard before. But! The nose. Whose nose would you want in all of Hollywood?! They say Jessica's little sister Ashlee. Ya know, the one who got a nose job! So it's totally fake, and I consider it cheating, but fine.

But, they end there! What a tease. I mean whose butt do we all want? [J. Lo's please.] Whose legs? [Maybe Beyonce's?! But don't tell anyone I said that..] Abs?! [I vote Jessica Alba.. Before OR after the baby!] What would you want?!

I'm someone who likes to live in the past.. In the sense that I like looking at old pictures of celebrities and seeing how much they have changed over the years that I have known them. So, after some research, asking around, and looking at HUNDREDS of pictures, I have made my decision...

Top 10 Transformed Celebrities

10. Will Smith
He's gone from being the Fresh Prince of Bel-air to being an action-movie hero. He used to be the guy everyone looked at as the epitome of a player who had all the best lines and got all the ladies. [Some still do, of course.] Now, he's happily married and has a wonderful family. This change wasn't good or bad. It was simply a reinvention/maturation that worked.

9. Olsen Twins

Let's just say they're clearly not making their home videos anymore. Well, hm, not the kind we grew up with. No more Full House, either. And, no more being best friends/inseparable! The twins have grown up, partied, made new businesses.. But one thing has indeed stayed the same; They're making bank.


8. Christina Aguilera
From being a genie, to dirrty, to a mama, she's a pop princess that has certainly changed with age. She had the innocence, the naughty-times, and now the maturity. Fortunately for her, it's worked for the most part. She's good.

7. Dustin Diamond/Screech

The once-nerd, is now an extreme pervert. And for starring on possibly one of the most classic TV shows of all time, he sure is lovin' being on the ridiculous VH1 shows. Who knew Screech would be the one doing stand-up and pretending to be a wrestler?!

Remember the new, cute, freckled girl on "Parent Trap?" Would you ever think she'd be dating an ugly girl right about now?! She went from cute, to HOTT during the Mean Girls and Freaky Friday days, and then, BAM! She was out partying, getting crazy, dying her trademark hair, and losing her figure. Doctor, I think we lost her.


4. Britney Spears
Princess of pop or princess of reinvention/ comebacks?! I guess it'll take time to tell, but she's certainly had her changes over the years. Even if she might be headed back to one of her old "characters," she's had enough of them to say she's changed quite a bit. School girl--> Toxic--> Slave--> Pink hair--> awkward VMA performer--> VMA winner. Wonder what's next?

3. Arnold Schwartzenegger

How does someone go from body builder to a terminator to a GOVERNOR?!?! When he was running, I thought it was a joke, but apparently he meant business. Does this mean someone like Hulk Hogan will run for senator somewhere? That's quite the unusual change. I hardly doubt anyone would have ever thought ANYTHING like this would happen with ANY celebrity 10 years ago.. But he IS the Arnold. He does crazy things.



2. Madonna
DUH Factor #1. Do I need to say anything about her? She's the Queen of Reinvention... cone boobs and all. As much as we can look back and say "Woah, what was she thinking?!" At the time, she was all the rage with whatever look she had.. She's a trendsetter keeping up.. or setting, rather... all the trends.

1. Michael Jackson

DUH Factor #2. Again, no need to say anything. This man went from human to weirdo. From black to white. From guy to basically a girl. His voice has stayed the same, pretty much.. Nice and high.. But say someone was stuck in the underworld for 15 years and came back looking for MJ. Bet ya they would never find "him."

You know those couples that make you SO jealous and make you believe that love is real and it can happen to you? [Or the ones that completely break your heart and your hope for love when they break up..] I have the Top 10 list of them, and an Honorable Mention.

I call them--> my Barbies and Kens:


Honorable Mention: Sean Puffy Puff Daddy P Diddy Diddy Combs and Jennifer J.Lo Lopez -- 1998-2001
Okay so, in hindsight, this probably wasn't a good relationship.. But ya gotta admit that at the time, they were one of the hottest couples around. Their looks matched, and I think individually, this was the high points of their careers. J.Lo was still Jennifer.. Jenny from the Block, if you will, and bangin' out awesome songs. Diddy.. or Puff Daddy, wasn't the cocky SOB that he is today.. Well, not as bad, anyways. How I miss those days..

Ashton Kutcher && Demi Moore -- 2003- still goin strong

As much as I am kind of weirded out by the age difference in the two, they are a damn good couple. The fact that they can be married and happy and cute, while still getting together with Demi's ex Bruce Willis is amazing to me. (And weird kinda.. But cool.) It seems like they're always going to be in that puppy love stage.. life, forever.

Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson -- 1997-2005
Okay, okay.. So it's either cliche, or stupid of me to include them.. But I'm sorry, when they were together, they were PERFECT! Or so it seemed, anyways. She could definitely be herself with him, and he seemed to love every second of it. It provided good entertainment and definitely made me want to be a Newlywed. ;)

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams -- 2004- now.. kinda.

Any female is going to agree with me here.. Or any guy who likes The Notebook. The two met while filming the most amazing love story of a movie ever, and then fell in love off-screen too! They have been off and on a little bit, but that doesn't even matter. When we see them kiss, it's like our wildest dreams of a "Notebook story" coming true. Plus, as of now, they're totally together! They're always having fun and being goofy and touching each other. It's real. I know it. Fairy tales can come true.

Que Mosley and Dawn Richard -- 2008- puppy love
If you're one of my MTB lovers, all I have to say is: silver slippers. If not, they are the perfect definition of puppy love right now.. And I think it's going to last.. At least for a little while. Que is absolutely in love with the girl, saying he's going to marry her, etc. It all started with her refusing to give him a chance, but when she did, she fell hard, too. She still doesn't love showing her affection to everyone, but it's obvious it's there.. And he makes her losen up quite a bit. They're precious.

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears -- 1998-2002
Call me typical or whatever you want, but these two were the epitome of a great couple during the pop era. Everything about them matched. Plus, they had the fairytale story of growing up together in the public eye and hitting the big time together the whole way. They were always having fun, laughing, and keeping each other sane. They both admit to this day that the breakup was one of the hardest times of their lives. And really, if you don't believe me on this being a great example of Barbie and Ken, google image them. They're amazing together and every day I hope it'll happen again. :)

Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon -- 1997-2006

After Jen and Brad broke up, I had given up on love. When I started to believe in it again, it was because of these two. They seemed to place NOTHING above their marriage and kids.. Until the split. When I once again realized love isn't real. Everything matched with them. They were like a puzzle that fit together without any force.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill -- 1996- still very in love
These two know how to do it right in Hollywood. Or Nashville.. wherever they may be. They both have hugely successful country music careers, yet they make time for each other and their family. They have even set rules on how long they can go without seeing each other, and it's not a very long time. Still, they go tour on their own, and make special appearances at each others shows when they can.. AND record tons of singles together. If this marriage were to ever fail, that's it. I'd be done with relationships. I'd give up. I need them together forever. And they will be.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston -- 1998-2005

When you think of perfect couples, TELL ME you think of these two. I don't care if you on stupid Angelina's side, THESE TWO represented perfection. When they broke up, I gave up on love.. no joke. Their looks matched, their body languge.. everything. And if you can honestly look at pictures of them, and then compare to pictures of Brad and Angelina, and tell me that he's happier now.. You're lying to yourself. Period.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi -- 2004- just married!

So this example may not technically have a "Ken".. but they definitely represent a perfect couple. They just got married over the summer once it was finally legal, and it's so obvious that they couldn't be happier. They're both equally as infatuated with each other. Beyond all of that, they're opening the nation's eyes to show that homosexuality is no big deal.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith -- 1996- forever.

These two are the definition of real love. They're not in the relationship just to be in the public eye, there's not one that thinks they are better than the other.. They are in it for each other and their beautiful family. They are ALL VERY talented, but they don't flaunt it. I have no doubt in my mind that even if neither of them were famous, they would still be together. They're soulmates. A couple we'll remember AND SEE forever. They're legends.

Ahh, I love reliving the past with relationships, and seeing people all happy and lovey together. It's cute. :)

Congrats and good luck to those couples still together.. for those who we've "lost"... I will always have hope for a reunion.. ;)

no wonder she disappeared

Remember when J.Lo suddenly disappeared for what seemed like forever?

In a recent interview, which wasn't supposed to be published but thanks to the internet now we all know what happened, she explained that she had a nervous breakdown because she was just doing too much all at one time.

"There was a time when I was very overworked and I was doing music and movies and so many things. I was suffering from a lack of sleep. And I did have a kind of nervous breakdown. I froze up on a set. Well, not on a set, but in my trailer. I was like, 'I don't want to move. I don't want to talk. I don't want to do anything'...Yeah. I did. I had a nervous breakdown."

It was while she was on the set of "Enough" in 2002.. also when songs like "Jenny From the Block" were becoming huge.

So, that's probably why she seemed to fade off for a bit. I guess she had to take some time to herself, out of the spotlight, unlike some of our celebs who have breakdowns in front of the world. (Not naming any names..)

But now she is back in the public eye, and with a husband and twins to show off. She mentioned their pictures in People Magazine in the interview, also. Saying that they never wanted to sell the pictures but then decided it could set them up for their future. (AKA pay for their college.. who knew celebs really did that ahead of time?!) Apparently she's not as rich as people say she is... Unless she's modest in her old age. (JK of course.)

All I know is I'm glad to see her around more lately, but I'd LOVE to have at least SOME of the old J.Lo back. I miss her! Then again, I'm a lover of the 90s and early 2000s.
