what i wore last week- jungles, boyfriends, and neon

Seems like some of you enjoy creepin' on my daily outfits, so I'm gonna continue making it easy for ya!

Here's what was on me last week:

Neon is totally my staple this summer. I'm obsessed. The easiest outfit ever:
-neon shorts from Charlotte Russe $10
-striped tank from F21 $6
-sandals from Charlotte Russe $8
-flower from H&M $4

I LOVE this skirt and really need to wear it more, but had a reason to try hard when Emblem3 and MKTO came to the studios. Normally I'd never wear those shoes with the outfit, but I felt it was fitting for the day, and I actually got compliments from our special visitors!
-skirt from F21 $8
-tank from F21 $8
-shoes from Charlotte Russe $5
-I had on really old, minty-turquoise and silver dangly earrings

Still trying to figure out the best way to make boyfriend jeans look good. They're certainly not the most flattering pants I own, but they're comfortable! Of course I took every bit of that comfort away when putting on heels.
-jeans from NY&C $15
-tee from F21
-necklace from Old Navy $4
-open toed pumps from Candies at Kohl's $20
-super old silver and white bangles and silver hoops
-my hair is in a braid, then pinned up in a loose bun of sorts

A day at the beach bars/pools calls for a presentable outfit but easy to wear if wet [or drunk]. Skater skirts are my latest obsession because you can wear em with crop tops or bathing suit tops and still feel relatively covered. [Although this picture makes me feel like they're not flattering at all] With big earrings and lipstain, you're good to go!
-skirt from ASOS $11
-bathing suit top from Victoria's Secret $10ish
-earrings from Old Navy $3

And of course, Wednesday's outfit, another good one for the pool/beach days, is right over yonder!

As always, your comments, suggestions, dislikes, etc are always welcome!

outfit: i went 90s neon for the package tour

To be honest, I don't totally know what decade/era this outfit would fit into. Early 90s with the neon? Mid-late 90s with the crop top? Meh, whatever. All of those years were represented in *package* form at the Package Tour.

I had bought a neon skirt for the HOT Summer Fiasco, but never got to wear it, so I held on to it and tried to find a crop top to go with it. Normally I'm all anti crop tops because sometimes you just don't need to be that slutty, trashy, whatever you wanna call it. Now that I've tried the high-waisted skirt/crop top combo, I could become obsessed.

-H&M skirt $12 [similar]
-earrings from China
TOTAL: $30!

That little bit of skin showing is so sexy to me! Plus: It's the most flattering part of anyone's torso, right?! I'll never show off that little tire around my belly button, but this skirt conceals it!
And even though the skirt is a little see-through, it's so light and flowy and fun and... well, I'm truly obsessed. I don't even care if you think this looks cute or not.
Also, you should know that once I actually headed out, I totally added my Sorry I Party fanny pack.

Now I just need to find more opportunities to wear this/something like it. Damnit. I shouldn't have posted a picture.... now everyone's going to know I wear it all the time!

pinspired: turning a long sleeved shirt into a skirt

One of those pins that everyone pins without even really trying it is this one: Turn a long sleeve shirt into a skirt!

Well, I finally decided to give it a whirl... but I wanted mine to be a little shorter since I don't really have the typical "work environment." Turns out, it wassss a little easier said than done, but not impossible.

Hopefully that's not impossible to follow. For me, the bow looked ridiculous because my shirt was so thin and I just couldn't get it right. I liked this twisty knot front, but the sides definitely needed some tweaking to make it wearable.
Who am I kidding?! The whole experiment takes a lot of tweaking! You tie it, and tuck the ends under and roll, until nothing is sticking out and it's flat enough for you're liking.

Eventually it worked out and I wore it with my crochet-back tank.

Oh! And Target Clearance wedges!

My review: It's not something I plan on doing often... at least not with my collection of shirts. It rode up a lot after an hour of wearing it, probably exposing my vajayjay to the world several times. It also requires way too much fixing, bunching up, and perfecting. You could try the longer version [don't push the neck down/pull the arms up] and it might be a little better.

pinspired outfits: a skirt kinda weekend

I'm a little behind in posting these this week, but someone once told me "better late than never!"

This past weekend was one of those weekends I actually felt like getting dressed. [Okay, that's half a lie. It's mostly because the outfits I pin are either really plain, or dressy...]

Friday's outfit was pinspired by an "interview outfit," but I don't know if my rendition would be so appropriate. Then again, the last time I had an official interview was... a long time ago.

I originally planned on wearing my orange pumps/clutch, but it was too bright. Had to bring down the brightness of the button-down with these terribly uncomfortable shoes.

-skirt from Forever21 for like $8 [get it now!]
-mint blouse from Target clearance for $14 [similar]
-shoes from JustFab BOGO, $20 [similar]
-clutch from NY&C, no more than $10 [similar]

I do really love the outfit, but I'm beyond confused on where to wear it in the future when I don't have a Pinterest challenge to blame. If you're in a workplace that isn't fancy or super casual, I feel like this would be good for you!

Also, normally stripes make me feel a little wide, but this one hides my "pouch" that I hate so much more than the next one.. and both make my booty look fantastic. [My legs, on the other hand, need a serious tan and good workout.]

I used to get all of my purses and clutches at NY&C on sale or clearance... until I moved here. The sale and accessories sections suck at my mall.

Saturday's outfit came from a pin I used to worry would never be recreated. Though it's not dead-on, it's totally pinspired, and I love it!

-skirt- again from Forever21, $9 [with sequins for $13 or same one]
-off the shoulder tee from Papaya for $8
-LC Lauren Conrad jacket for $25 at Kohls
-shoes from Target $20
-earrings from Body Central $1

I really hate long sleeves. The jacket doesn't stay on forever, which makes me wish I would have thrown on some necklaces, but I thought my earrings would be enough. Must. Learn. to Accessorize.

The skirt isn't sequins, which makes it a little more comfortable, but it definitely shows all the flaws or lines from shirts being tucked in. Underwear's gotta be optional with this baby.

Mint colored feather earrings and a simple french braid back completed [or so I originally thought] everything.

Neither outfit is perfectly like the original, but keep in mind the reason I do this is to show you don't have to go shopping or have every identical piece in your closet to get your "dream closet" on Pinterest. [I need to make sure I write this down and tape it to my credit card come Friday.]

PS: Any suggestions are welcome, as usual! Thanks for voting for which shoes I shoulda worn with the last skirt! Big help for next time!
