It's very consistent with their sound, and I'm pretty sure this song is on a commercial, right? I like it better than "Pumped Up Kicks" to be honest.
Kelly Clarkson--> Stronger
Also in a commercial! I love this song, though. It's very reminiscent of old K-Clark and a lot of fun and powerful.
Ali Lee--> Keep It Right There
It's fun, but I don't see it being huge. Then again, I could be wrong. It is a new year, time for new peeps?
Adam Lambert--> Better Than I Know Myself
It's probably my favorite, or one of, when it comes to Adam Lambert. It's definitely catchy, and his fans are behind it pushing hard.
Demi Lovato--> Give Your Heart a Break
When I tested this on air, people loved it! Even anti-Demi people said it was catchy, and I agree! It's definitely the same pop-y sound, but I've always liked that. I guess that's when I show my girl-side.
Dev ft. Enrique Iglesias--> Naked
I like the build up in the beginning, and overall it's a fun song, but I don't think it'll be as big as either of their others.
Flo Rida--> Wild Ones
I think I like all of Flo Rida's songs, but the girl singing the hook has a really pretty voice. I enjoy.
Graffiti6--> Free
It's a very soothing song, that's for sure. I don't know how it'll fit with all of the other songs on the radio, but I really don't mind having it on.
Lil Wayne ft. Bruno Mars--> Mirror
It's a great, meaningful song.. but hott damn, it's slow. Too slow.
Train--> Drive By
If you like Train, you'll like this song. It's cheesy, but it's catchy and fun and cute.
And the one everyone has been talking about this week, Jay Z's adorable song for baby Blue Ivy, "Glory."

It's not as "bad" as you'd imagine from a JoBro... it's super catchy and very reminiscent of the early 2000s. I don't think it'll hit the top of the charts, but it might be heard quite a bit.
Katy Perry--> The One That Got Away
She's lookin' to shatter records with this album. This is single #6 that has a pretty good chance at #1. Listeners loved it, and I kinda do too.
Bruno Mars--> It Will Rain
It's from the upcoming Twilight movie soo... FAIL. Just kidding. It's alright.
Steve Hott--> Here For You
Cool name, duder. It's a little Daughtry-esque, without the big American Idol name standing behind him. I definitely don't hate it, but I don't know how it'll do.
BoB ft. Lil Wayne--> Strange Clouds
The bass is a little obnoxious, but I like BoB. Maybe it'll sound better on better speakers... or something...
Taio Cruz ft Flo Rida--> Hangover
If I had a hangover and this song came on, I'd throw my stereo out the window old school style. It's fun, it'll definitely be fun to dance to, but heyzeus they're going for the Katy Perry TGIF sound and it's not working for a "Hangover."

One of the biggest and best documentaries from this year's Sundance Festival was a documentary about Lil Wayne called "The Carter."
They've released the trailer for the documentary, and even though I'm not a huge fan of Weezy, I'm intrigued. I want to see it.
I love how all the fans are little white girls. Also- How this dude pulls off huge rap songs that people can recite along with him but can't speak a word of understandable English is amazing to me.

Another biased opinion because obviously she's my girl... So bias aside- I don't think it's going to be a radio hit, but it's definitely worth a download. It's totally a sexual song.. Leave it to BritBrit.

1st of all- I had no idea David Guetta was white. Woopsies. 2nd- HOTT video. Plus after seeing Akon last week, I have an even stronger love for him.

I don't know how I feel about Birdman, but the song has a good beat, and I have a good taste in my mouth when it comes to Jay Sean. Wait... Did that sound.... Nevermind.

Oh wow... Jesse McCartney and T-Pain?!? He's really trying to make sure little Justin Beiber doesn't get in his way! Why do I like these stupid, uber poppy and corny songs? Ugh. I try and deny it, but I can't.

I did not expect homeboy to sound like this after seeing pictures. Apparently he's releasing an album that has a reggae/R&B combination. I'm interested to hear more!

The beginning of the song is really pretty boring, and I don't know that I like the rest much better, but I love her story. She's a YouTube discovery. I wanna be a YouTube discovery!

There's been a lot of Twitter hype about this song and I must say, I'm a little disappointed. I didn't know what to expect, but I don't think I love this like everyone says. It's good and pretty, and maybe it'll grow on ya, but eh.

So this girl was discovered after covering Justin Timberlake's "What Goes Around" and now he's producing this song. You'd never be able to tell by this video, but she's veryyyy Spanish. Or Hispanic, or Latina or whatever it is. I like the song though... I can hang with it.

Okay, I take back what I said before, I think. This is actually the new official single being released to all the stations, and I'm glad. I still don't like as much as BBP, but I like it... It's funny, and has a decent beat. Phew.

Woah. Could this be.... A different sound from B? No... It's almost like... I've never heard something like this from her! It has a different beat! I'm not CRAZY about it, but I like it.. And it gets 10 points for being different than the usual. BUT! Will she wear a leotard and have 2 dancers???
Lovesick Radio--> Loser of the Year
Consider me a big fan of them now, after hanging with them for a day. [Elaborate post coming ASAP.] So I'm pretty sure this is going to be their next single and I think you need to listen. Also, listen to more of them... Especially when they do covers at live performances. They're fab.
Shea Fisher--> Don't Chase Me
She reminds me of a brunette Julianne Hough or something. She also has the potential to pull a Carrie or Taylor and do pop and country. The weird cheer in the beginning and middle needs to go, though.
Jason Aldean--> Big Green Tractor
I fully enjoy Jason Aldean, and this song is alright, but it's not fabulous. Probably something I'll play on the random, but not something I'll be excited to hear.

This girl is amazing. This song is great. It's hott and sexual like the other one, too. She's going to have people bumpin' and grindin' to her stuff. Ohh snap!

Not slow, not fast, almost just right. I kind of want it to be a LITTLE faster, but I like the lyrics a lot, no big surprise here. He's doin' his thing.
Derek Sholl--> But it Was
I have no idea who this guy is, and he doesn't have a whole lot of plays on his MySpace, but he should. This is a precious song, and I fully enjoy it. It's sappy, but I like it.
So, I'm going to do a full post on this guy either tomorrow or Thursday, but why not point out one of his songs now? It's Ryan Star, the current opener for David Cook's University Tour, and this is "This Could Be The Year."
He's hott, and he's an amazing singer and performer, so I want to point him out to everyone. Definitely check more out, and be ready for a Ryan Star-dedicated post.

As always, I'm sure you've been on the edge of your seat just WAITING to hear what I have to say about the event of the weekend.
No, I don't mean Chris beating Rihanna. I already told you about that. I mean the Grammy's.
First of all, if you didn't tune into E! Network to see Seacrest on the red carpet, you missed out on a show. The man must have been drinking, or just not slept in a week, because he was clearly in outer space. He kept asking really uncomfortable questions to people, but seemed so disconnected. I don't know.. It was weird.
I don't know if this is the best example of it, but here he is with Jennifer Hudson.. Who he used to talk to regularly on American Idol:
And yes, that's Punk. Her fiance. Or "baby" as Ryan thought. Weird.
Moving on... Whitney's big "comeback." Did she do it? My opinion: No. However, Britney didn't do it the first time either. She needed a second chance, and she nailed it then. So I'm sure no one is giving up on Whitney yet. They can't. She was just a little cracked out still last night.. No big deal.
PLUS, she DID sing at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy party the night before, and sounded pretty good. Not as mind blowing as we're used to.. But she's still got some pipes. [I know, it's a terrible video.. Deal with it. She starts singing around 2 minutes.]
The sound was killin' me. During so many performances, the mic was clearly not rigged up to the broadcast or something, because it sounded like a live concert being recorded on someones video camera. It was terrible, and made amazing singers like Carrie Underwood sound bad.
But, she IS Carrie Underwood, so even though the sound wasn't working, she still sounded pretty good.. And as always, looked amazing.
Honestly though.. Overall, the performances really disappointed me. Yeah, maybe Rihanna and GF-Beater [:(] could have helped, but I just wasn't impressed overall.
For example... Why was one of the most hyped up duets MILEY and TAYLOR?!?! Neither of them are really amazing singers, and they're even worse live. There's just a lot more people out there who could have filled their spot.
And SPEAKING OF DUETS!!! Stevie Wonder performed. That's always something anyone is going to look forward to. But... Who'd they pair him with?! The JONAS BROTHERS!!!
Seriously, I'm all about combining generations and things like that... But this is not okay. Stevie is a legend. The JoBros are not.. No matter what any teeny bopper may say. [And I'm allowed to say this because I, too, was a teeny bopper growing up. Big time.] I mean yeah, it sounded okay and everything... But c'mon. This is like a sin or something! And didn't Stevie used to say he wouldn't be a part of such things?!
A good example of combining generations DID happen last night, though. Some of the Four Tops combined with Jamie Foxx and Neyo to do a montage of a songs.. And it was FABULOUS! Jamie and Neyo fit RIGHT in swagger-wise, and they're amazing singers. It just fit. You could feel the chemistry, and how they really knew this was something special for everyone.
Speaking of swagger, you KNOW Kanye had to be up on that stage sometime. And of course TI, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, and the ever so PREGO MIA. It started off black and white which was interesting, but it was a good performace.. I won't even lie.
Anddd speaking of TI.. He was also on stage with Justin Timberlake (replacing either Chris or Rihanna's peformance) for Dead and Gone. Good stuff, for sure.
On top of that, I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but there wasn't a whole lot worthy of sharing. Coldplay peformed, which a lot of people may like actually.. But I still haven't figured out the fascination in them. U2 opened the show. Album of the year winners Alison Krauss and Robert Plant ALSO performed.. But it still left the question of "Why'd they win?"
And, of course, Katy Perry told us all one more time, that she did in fact kiss a girl.. And yes, she liked the taste of her cherry chapstick.
Weird performance.
I know I'm forgetting plenty, but thanks to my computer crashing earlier today, I lost all of my notes, so these will have to do.

Overall though.. I just wasn't impressed this year. I think they could have been a lot better, and made some better decisions not only about performances, but about the awards too.

BUT, there are still some people who haven't seen the Katie Couric/Lil Wayne interview as part of her Grammy Special. It was quite possibly one of the more awkward interviews/packages you will ever witness. [Unless you saw Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet last night.]

What's the most awkward part about this interview? Because I'm not sure I can pick it out. Katie saying weed? Katie asking him about how much he smokes? Katie pointing out his shiny teeth? Lil Wayne talking about how he's a gangsta? The possibilities are endless and I'm just not sure what the correct answer is, if there even is one.
Little Miss Couric sure has been getting a lot of extra publicity for her interviews in the past couple of months, though. Whether it's her or her subject creating the awkward moments, they sure do provide for some laughs. I love it.
So even though this interview points out your extreme whiteness, Katie.. I thank you, on behalf of everyone for the Entertainment. And no, I don't think we're laughing WITH you right now..

This guy is from the group Pretty Ricky [which I didn't know was a group until like, less than a year ago.. Wow.], and I enjoy this song. Yep, sure do. I also enjoy the video, and the girl in it is really pretty. I feel like it's kind of an x-rated version of something Tyler Perry, except not really. We don't need a #2 boyfriend, just a good #1, right? Anyways, good song, officially downloaded.
Savage ft. Angel Dust and Baby Bash--> Wild Out [Chooo Hooo]
First of all... Interesting video....... Second, I don't think I'm a HUGE fan of the video. If someone played it, I wouldn't be mad, and I'd probably dance or something, but I don't think I'll ever play it again for my own pleasure. I'm disappointed. I thought something called "Wild Out" would be a lot more upbeat and fun. Guess not.
Lil Wayne--> Prom Queen
This is the first song off of "Rebirth," his upcoming rock album! Hopefully this is the real, legit version of the song [not video, obvi] because a lot of them have to be sped up/slowed down in order to do okay with copyright issues. My question is though.. Do you think he'll make it in the rock world based on this song? Honestly, I think I'd be disappointed if he did. This whole microphone technology thing and changing people's voices is getting overrated. If we're going to sound like robots, why not just have robots entertain us all the time? The lyrics are there, but if he can write, he should just stick to writing. I don't think I'm supporting this little "gone rock" thing he's doing. Sorry.
Leona Lewis--> I Will Be
This song was written by AVRIL! The girl that disappeared, ya know? Apparently she recorded a version of it too, but for some reason, I'm thinking Leona's is going to skyrocket, unlike Avril's. You know any Leona song is going to get overplayed on the radio, and I don't think this will be any exception. I think it's my favorite from her so far, though. And maybe that's because it's not overplayed yet, or maybe it's Chase Crawford in the beginning of it, but I still really enjoy it. And you will too.. for now.
Keyshia Cole--> You Complete Me
She's a tremendous singer, and I'm kind of disappointed that I don't like her BET show.. I think it makes her look worse, rather than better. But anyways, there's not much to say except that this is a beautiful song. 'Nuff said.
Se7en ft. Lil Kim--> Girls
This song has parts from Jay Z's "Girls," and I'm totally okay with it. This guy is an R&B singer from KOREA! When I saw that, I'm sorry to say, but I wasn't expecting anything good. [I thought something like the Teriyaki Boyz.. Which I think are terrible.] Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised! :) I actually really like this song, too! Sweet!
Pink--> Please Don't Leave Me
I need to get Pink's latest album, because I love every song from it so far. I love the lyrics, I love that it's a little less angry, and she's actually blaming herself. I don't love the "da da da da" over and over again in the background, but I can get over that. Downloaded? Check.
Darin--> See You At A Club
I can totally get used to this song! HE'S a SWEDISH singer! Check out the diversity in today's post! This is a good get down song, once you get used to it! The beat sounds familiar, but I might be imagining things, who knows. All I know is, I'm okay with this song.
The Dream ft. Mariah Carey--> My Love
The Dream has such a pretty voice.. He really does. I don't think he's amazingly talented or anything, but I definitely like his sound, and his songs. This song isn't anything AMAZING when it comes to the lyrics or anything, but it's pretty! And Mariah's in it! Their voices are a lot alike, which is kinda cool for this song. But the best is when Mariah gets it, of course.
Kat DeLuna ft. Lil Wayne--> Unstoppable
Ummm... I don't know how I feel about this. Honestly, I don't. The beat is okay. The lyrics are okay. The sound is.. Eh. Someone make up my mind for me! Let me know!
Danielle Peck--> Can't Behave
Danielle Peck is really good. But in country music, I think you have to be good to make good music.. Just sayin'. :) It's kinda one of those songs like, I have to leave you if you keep doing this.. So please don't do it. It's like, half love song, half power ballad.. Kinda. It's good, though.
And finally, Craig Morgan--> God Must Really Love Me
This is going to be a good, safe single for Craig. It's a typical country song, if you will, that's upbeat and looking back on life like "Wow, I've lived a good life, this is awesome." [No, country isn't all depressing, I swear.] I'll keep listening to it. :)
Just in case you were worried Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" might fade out at some point... I just don't think that will happen.
For some reason, everyone loves the song and the lyrics and stuff, and are covering it in their own way.
We've had the "Kidz Bop" version that was pretty hilarious, David Sides' piano cover [which is amazing, just like everything he does..] and now Framing Hanley has made their own rock version. [It doesn't actually get started until about 2 minutes in.]
It's pretty good. I just think it's funny how these lyrics, that are really very, mmm, interesting.. And not what you'd think would make a good rock or kids song, but everyone wants to do it!
But, one time I took the lyrics and put them into a "redneck translator" for a project for one of my classes. It pretty much stayed the same, which was interesting because you wouldn't expect rap and country lingo to be the same.. But it shows that it kind of is!
Anyways, this rock version is pretty sweet, I think.. But I still don't understand the fascination of this song. Explanations welcome.

Ryan Leslie--> How It Was Supposed To Be
Hmmm.. Unless it's the computer I'm using, which thank goodness isn't mine, I think the beat is entirely too loud over his voice. But, if I'm wrong, then I think it's a pretty good song. His voice is pretty, whoever he is, and it has a nice beat. Not necessarily a party song, but one to hang out to. I give it a C+.
Fall Out Boy ft. Lil Wayne--> Tiffany Blews
Woah, Interesting. Fall Out Boy and Lil Wayne?! Goodness.. Lil Wayne is literally EVERYWHERE. And I'm going to be honest for once here, I'm not a huge fan of either of them, but this song is good. Maybe I'm in a good mood, who knows... But I can definitely play this over and over again. Maybe my favorite Fall Out Boy song ever. [PS--> Wait for Lil Wayne.. It comes late in the song, and is very T-Pain with the computer sounds I always mention how lame it is.]
Mya--> Shy Guy
Woah! She's alive! And apparently coming out with a new album called "Sugar and Spice." And this is actually a remake from Diana King's version on the Bad Boys soundtrack, which reached #13 on the Billboard charts. I like it, it's a cool song. It's very much like EVERYTHING we're hearing on the radio or in mainstream or whatever right now. Go figure. But it's like saying guys shouldn't want the pretty girls, but the real girls. Instead, no fly guys please.. A shy guy is better. Maybeee I agree. I'm kinda excited for her to come back though.. Hmmm...
The Game ft. Ne-Yo--> Camera Phone
The Game is just.. Eh to me right now. But Ne-Yo is the ish.. So, I'm half and half on this song. The lyrics are kinda funny.. Ne-Yo says "It's a thug and a gentleman" which is very true. It's basically like, let her take a picture with me and she's mine. It's funny, it's cool, whatever.. But it kinda seems to go on forever.

This is my favorite song on the album right now, but I think the Womanizer video was better. I thought this one would be, but I completely lied to myself. Oh well.. It's still good. Kinda reminds me of the Slave video.. Kinda.

I talked a little about big events that happened last night, but here's how I REALLY feel about it.. Since I know you care. :)
First of all: Here is the video of Kid Rock performing "All Summer Long" with some help from Lil Wayne:
Second.. This isn't me being a hater, I promise.. But Taylor Swift was AWFUL! She did "Love Story," another one of her songs that's a country AND pop hit, but I'm not sure that anyone, besides mega-fans, is going to think it was a great performance.
As my Broadcast teacher would say; The effort was there, and I like what she was trying to do with it, but the execution was terrible.
She had the whole Romeo and Juliet feel to it, which was great! But her singing was miserable. She looked super nervous, too! I think I could compare her to Britney Spears at the 2007 VMA's. [Yes, I'm serious.] Look for yourself:
For a relatively upbeat song, she doesn't get into it very much. And the whole strip into a white dress thing; everyone saw that coming! Absolutely no element of surprise. More like an element of disappointment.
Kenny Chesney got Entertainer of the Year for the 4th time, Carrie Underwood got best Female Vocalist. But beyond the awards, there were SO MANY performances. Tons. More like a benefit concert or something than an award show, and I LOVED every second of it. So did every other country fan, I'm sure.
Co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, along with Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney with The Wailers, the Eagles, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, James Otto, Kellie Pickler, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and Darius Rucker all performed.. AMAZING.
If you watched it, I'm sure you understand everything I'm saying. If not, YouTube some stuff. It was a good show! Brad Paisley had some interesting punch lines.

So, I'm sure not many of you are watching them, based on my probable demographic, but the CMA's are going wonderfully.
So wonderful, in fact, that Lil Wayne just performed with Kid Rock for "All Summer Long."
It wasn't nearly as exciting as the pictured VMA performance, but Lil Wayne played some guitar, or something. Hopefully I'll get the video up sometime soon.
Both of them wore the undefeated Titans' jerseys.

T-Pain ft. Chris Brown- Freeze
Now, I think anything either of these 2 guys do right now is gonna be hott. And I don't know that this is an exception. I definitely like it, it's got a good beat, they sound good. Only beef I have is the beat-boxing. It's super cool and different, but comes out of nowhere. But who knows, maybe in another couple listens, I'll love it.. and be trying to do it. (Oh boy.)
Nicole Wray- Dice Roll
The only song I have on my iTunes from her is "I Wanna Kiss You" so I don't know much about her. This is the first single from her upcoming album. I like the idea of the song, and what she's saying and all that, but I don't know how I feel about the overall sound. She's very Fantasia or Macy Gray, right?! Which is cool, I just don't know if it works all together.
Akon ft. Lil Wayne- Get Paid
I feel like maybe I'm late on this and heard someone talking about it before, but I could be wrong.. who knows. Anyways, two more guys who no one can get enough of right now, so it's not going to be a good song. But, I don't think it's anything new or something that hasn't been doing. For some reason the chorus reminds me of the Pretty Ricky song "My Body"... Am I alone? Eh, it's not bad. I'll download it. But it's nothing for me to be excited about.
Christina Millian- Us Against The World
This is the first single for Christina from her album which is set to be released sometime Spring 2009. She calls it a "cinematic power ballad" and I think I agree. I definitely like the song. Unfortunately, as some of you may have noticed, I tend to be a bit biased, and I definitely have always liked her. I also like cute love songs. ;) But I think this is a great song.. and a great single to get that album started!
Rehab- The Bartender Song
Someone over the summer told me this was a really old song. Still, when it got played the other day, I heard so many people saying "what is this song?" Well, it's the Bartender Song. And it's hilarious. So if you havent heard it yet, today is the day.
I'm trying to find some country out there for my country lovers, but I'm having a harder time than I hoped. Sorry!

So, Lil Wayne is doing more than just writing songs..
Now, ESPN is giving him the chance to write a sports blog for their magazine.
Apparently he's a HUGE sports fan.. and doesn't watch or read about anything but sports.. so he talks a little football in the beginning.
Then he goes on to talk about how he used to play fullback growing up... and how he would tackle everyone or run through the piles without them knowing and score a touchdown. Interesting.. the man ALWAYS ends up on top, eh?!
Also interesting--> he's a big fan of... tennis?!? Hm, apparently so.
What I find the most.. eh.. surprising, interesting, whatever you wanna call it, is how he talks. For the most part, minus some stupid grammar errors that we ALL make when we're talking, his writing is great! He's definitely a smart guy.. hmph.
Mr. Carter, I think we can officially say that you are literally EVERYWHERE now that this is out in the sports world.. and I can't wait to read more. :)
