super bowl/football nails!

Ever heard of Jamberry nail wraps? Me neither... until a little while ago... and I was super pumped to try them out! As soon as I got them, I realized I had bit all my nails off one drunken night... because of course. 

I decided to go to the nail salon for the first time in five years and get some acrylics [wow prices have gone up....] so I could make magic happen. 

Naturally, with the Super Bowl coming up, I had them paint my nails burgundy so I could do a yellow/football accent nail myself! [I don't care if my 'Skins aren't in the game... I still rep them. 

Pretty neat, RIGHT?! 

They come as these little strips that you measure to your nails, peel off, heat up a little bit, and then bond them to your nail. [You can see the instructions video here.] It's definitely easy to do, but mine have a few wrinkles that I assume are just because it's not going to be perfect the first time. Luckily, they're not visible because most of the football wrap is clear.

I love that the football and chevron ones are clear backgrounds so that I can put whatever color I want underneath... and when I master these things, the other ones will be awesome to use to cover a whole nail with the quickness and hottness. They even have a ton of college ones!

They're supposed to last about two weeks, but since I just put mine on yesterday, I can't confirm that. I will totally update this whenever they do start to look trashy, though. 

Also cool: They come in so many sizes that you could easily do your toes, too... or just do accent nails and they'll last a LONG time.

throwback halloween: 12 costumes I've worn

We won't have a Halloween on TBT for a longgg time, so it only makes sense I share these NOW! Many costumes throughout my years... but I so wish I had more pictures in my possession.

PS... remember... it's not nice to make fun of someone's weight adjustments.

The one time I bought a "slutty" costume... a racergirl... in 2006.

2007: All homemade Tinkerbell!

Also 2007: Superman... because I really liked "Superman'ing that hoe." Seriously.

2008: Snow White! Because there were 7 of my BFF's who lived together and wanted to be the dwarfs.

Also 2008: WVU football player! Because I stole some legit game pants from a friend.

2009: Sherlock Holmes, because I was really enjoying stalking the Real World DC cast.

2010: Twitter Bird, because of the MTV T[witter] J[ockey] competition!

2011: Troll! Because I Love The 90s... even though they clearly didn't only exist in the 90s.

2012: Blue meth, because Breaking Bad was my drug, duh.

And this year, I'm Uncle Sam! Once I get better pictures this weekend, I'll post them!

After looking at these I noticed one thing: I was only something slutty when I shouldn't have been- when I was way too young and way too large. Ya live and ya learn.....

toys from your childhood that will make you rich

Remember when I looked up the value of all those Happy Meal toys that you've been saving, assuming they'd be worth a lot some day? Well, since you weren't alone in that, the space they're taking up is worth more than the toy itself.

BUT!, my friends... If you're a hoarder like me my mom, you might have some serious dolla dolla bills hidden in your attic, basement, bedroom, whatever.

I know for a fact I had these, that were handed down from my mom. If she got rid of them, she threw away $50.

You betta believe I was organizing my [lack of] fashion with this here Clueless device! Now it can get girl fabulous for $75.

I think I had one of these diaries before a real one... and now my [forever] locked up memories are worth $80.

Everyone remembers Talkboys! [And if you don't you're either really young or need to educate yourself.] If you didn't throw away the ancient technology, it's worth $90.

Surely you remember this doodling diddy! I mean, I don't totally remember how it worked, but that's for the person paying $95 to figure out.

Who knew a Mr Potato Head Lite Brite would still be cool in 2013!? If you thought it might be, you're sitting on $120.

Sweet, creepy, Teddy Ruxpin. If you've got it all, his life savings is about $240.

Just a Tamagotchi keychain, with a devilish spin. No big deal right? Fine. Go ahead and give away the $435.

This is nothing but an electric Hello Kitty pencil sharpener... worth $500!

A My Little Pony teaset. Whatever little girls owned this, probably rarely played with it, and were lucky if it didn't accidentally fall from their closet and shatter. That's why it's worth $500 now!

Just a whistling Nerf football from 1989. Someone probably paid $10 for it... and now they're getting $1500!

I definitely remember seeing this dog in the stores or somewhere, and now his dance moves are worth 50,000 freaking dollars. WHAT?!

Seriously, pots of gold are basically sitting in your/your parents' house right now. You need to get to it before they do, and fast. Then buy me something nice to thank me for letting you know.

I'm going to sneak into my house this weekend and hopefully collect $825, if my mom didn't get trash-happy all of the sudden.

pinspired recipe: bacon cheeseburger dip is delicious

It's kinda a skewed concept: You're poor, so you invite people over to watch football, and make food. While I may be sparing myself about 20 calories, I probably spend just as much.

That doesn't matter when it's worth it, though! The other day I made this delicious looking bacon double cheeseburger dip!

Well, that's what the original picture looked like, anyway. Take a less experienced cook and food photographer, and this is what you get:

Pre-lettuce....

Post-lettuce [and grubbing, obviously.]

It may not look as delectable and presentable as the original, but lemme tell you- It was delicious! Here's how to do it: 

Needed [to make enough to keep at least 8 people happy]: 

• 1 lb ground beef
• 12 strips of bacon
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 8 ounces of fat-free cream cheese [trying to save myself SOME of the calories!]
• 1 cup of fat free plain greek yogurt [or sour cream, if you're not cutting calories]
• 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
• 1 1/2-2 cups of cheese, your choice. We used cheddar and pepper jack.
• 1/4 cup of ketchup
• Whatever spice you like to add when making burgers
• Lettuce, tomatoes, and any other toppings you include on your burgers.
• Tortilla chips or baguette slices

To do: 

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cook the ground beef in a pan with added spices and drain.
3. Cook the bacon until crispy, set aside, but keep about a tablespoon of grease.
4. Add the onion to the grease and saute until tender. Add the garlic and saute until fragrant. 
5. Mix the ground beef, bacon, onions and garlic, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, cheese, and ketchup and pour it into a baking dish. [I used an 9x9 dish] 
6. Bake until the cheese is golden brown and the sides are bubbling.
7. Let cool for a couple minutes, then add chopped up lettuce and diced tomatoes. 
8. Let everyone swoon!

I feel like everyone's been on the buffalo chicken dip bandwagon lately, which is delicious, but if you bring a little somethin' different, you'll earn points! And this is simple and enjoyable for everyone! [You could even make it with ground turkey for turkey burger dip, hayyy!]

watch: bad lip reading in the nfl

I've seen these videos for songs and stuff, and wondered how they could make one as funny for the NFL, but the truth is... it might be funnier.

It's quick clips of players, coaches and refs saying things, and they're just so random and so dead on it's fantastic.


I'm so glad they made Tom Brady the main thumbnail. His parts are so good!

debate/podcast: pink jerseys vs. gameday dresses

After seeing my friend Brooke wore a "gameday dress" [apparently the "gameday" in front of it makes it more football-friendly] to a game this weekend, I had to A) Call her out [she's always freaking out about football and girls wearing pink jerseys], and B) ask my homies which was worse.

And besides a bunch of pornographic girls, Google hit the nail on the head with this representation of a pink jersey:

For the record, I told Brooke that I thought dresses were worse, but I really just hate both so much that it's hard to fight for either of them... but I battled it out with some sorority biatch on Facebook just because she started running her mouth. She unfriended me. Success.

I also asked people on air what they thought. I'm surprised it was only girls getting in on the action, but the last call is the best. The lady is NOT happy, and she tries to defend the dresses, but fails big time.

Sorry lady, but you can't defend wearing dresses by basically telling me you don't like the real atmosphere of football games. MARBLE FLOORS?! Get outta here. I don't want your sugar daddy husband anyway.

Sometimes people look at videos and see something over a minute and think "I'm too ADD for this."

No one is too ADD for this video. Not even me. It's quick clips of TONS of people from ALL sports being straight up awesome at life.


Those people flying through the air and flipping a bajillion times- Awesome. Flips over people on the football field- awesome. Breaking a TON of tackles like "Get OFF me!"- Awesome. FLIPPING AROUND A BAR WHILE HOLDING ONTO YOUR FRIEND- AWESOME. You guys are neat.

gift guide: things for the female football fan

If you're searching for a girl who loves football, or is at least a big fan of a team [or, maybe, you want to ease her into being a fan of a team], I've got some ideas for you.

Sure, you can go the route of getting shirts, jerseys, pajamas, hoodies, decals, etc... or you could go beyond that. Let her feel like a girl, but also let her rep those colors.

Wine glasses [or any kind of alcohol glass- pilsner, mug, shot glass, whatever] This pair is $28.

Undies. If it's for your girl, it's practically a present for both of you. Imagine her in your team's jersey and thong. You're welcome. Pricier than most thongs, but probably worth the $11.95

Bag. I like this one because it's big enough to work for her at a tailgate, or during the off-season at the beach. If she's a classier lady than me, there are other options for you. $25

This scarf. I saw it at the game over the weekend, loved the jersey material, and didn't even know it had that secret compartment! Talk about convenience! If we can skip the whole bringing in a bag thing, it's always a good day. $25

Jewelry, of course. There are tons of pretty options, but these are some of my favorites. A nice watch with good colors and team spirit= love. This one is only $35. Any team's logo on earrings will also be pretty, but I'm loving all of the "Hail Yeah" stuff for Redskins fans lately. $10. I'm in love with the stackable rings. They're really pretty, even in person, but the price reflects it. $99

Obviously, because I'm a Redskins fan, that's what I focused on... but most of these things came from the NFL shop or Amazon, which cater to all the teams, and often have all the same products!

Please, for the love of sweet baby football Jesus, don't get her a pink jersey. Or a rhinestoned one. We don't need more of those in this world.

watch etv: tackling boys in walmart

For the latest installment of my football videos, I learned how to play defense. And by play defense, I mean get my Sean Taylor on against Corey and Bobby in Walmart.

We found unsuspecting people [as unsuspecting as someone can be when a girl is walking around in a full-on football uniform, anyway...], and surprised them when I tackled the guys in the middle of nowhere.



I felt a little rusty! It's been a while since I've done awkward things in public, but I'm glad to get back in the game! Now all I need is my video editing program back, and I'll be making magic again!

Last month, I did my best to try and become a pro football kicker. This week/month, I moved on to bigger and better things: the quarterback.

watch: troy polamalu pretends to be a wax statue

You KNOW I love it when innocent people are messed with when they least expect it, so obviously I had to share this.

Troy Polamalu did his best to look like a wax statue and went into Madame Tussaud's and freaked people out when he came to life.



I guess it's a good thing Steelers fans travel well in this case... I'm sure plenty of people wanted to take their picture with him all the way in LA.

watch etv: i train to become an nfl kicker

Remember when Ellen practiced with the Saints and I said I had something of the sort in the works? Okay, well, it's nowhere near as awesome as practicing WITH the NFL team, but I'm totally becoming a football player!

The wives/girlfriends/ladies of the Redskins players have created a fan club just for women, and I'm helping show people that chics can totally get into football, too!

For the next couple months I'm making videos of me "training" to become a football player. Of course for week one, I decided to go the easiest route [but probably the hardest for me, to be honest..]- Kicker/punter!



I mean... I knew I had no hand/eye/foot coordination when it came to balls and foreign objects, but I didn't think I'd be that awful. Oy.

I really wanna get some "official" people to help me in the next videos, so if you know any legit football players in the VA Beach area, or have someone I should try to get on them, holler! My dream is to get one of the Redskins or their wives on here, but we'll see how possible that is with their strenuous schedules.

watch: ellen practices with the new orleans saints

JUST when I thought I might beat Ellen at something, she won... again.

On her show today she practiced with the New Orleans Saints. She kicked, threw, and even tackled. I think the very beginning and her outfit are the best parts, though.



Damnit she's great. I'm crying in laughter right now!

As each day goes on, I start to hyperventilate a little more. This NFL lockout business needs to END and I need my Sundays to be complete come August.

FunnyorDie did this amaze-balls movie trailer starring Taylor Lautner and NFL stars, and I just really wish it would come true...



Of course, when I say I wish this would come true, I mean in MY apartment and MY side yard/field. Yes. That'd be fun.

nfl logos tragically redone

Tweet If you have any strong feelings towards the NFL, you will probably love any or all of these logos.

Jon Defreest is taking the NFL logos and redrawing them in a morbid/inappropriate/hilarious way and selling them as t-shirts.

He's doing it in series, so if you don't see your favorite, or absolute least favorite team here, don't worry- It's coming, and I'll keep ya up to date.

I seriously can't wait until they get to the NFC East. What can they do with the star?! I'm sure there are a million things you could do with the Redskin.

The Patriot is hilarious, obviously.. and with all the birds falling from the sky recently, I'd say the Cardinal is pretty spot on as well.

Genius artist, I tell ya. Simple, but homeboy's gonna make a lot of money.
