my thoughts on real world: ex-plosion

It feels incredibly weird to be writing my first real post about a season of Real World after the finale has aired. Truth is, I didn't get a chance to put much effort into getting interviews. [And not to sound cocky, but I shouldn't have to beg and jump through a bunch of hoops for them at this point.] I definitely missed doing the podcasts and really wish I could have talked to a select few of them, but life happens.

THE BEST: Jenny. 

How can you not laugh hysterically at everything she did and said? I can't think of anyone who's been as funny [in all sorts of ways] as she was. I wanna be her friend just so I could actually sit back and watch someone else be entertaining for once.

Easily one of the best moments of the past 5+ seasons.

THE GOOD: The production becoming the final "roommate"

Showing the production laughing behind the camera, calling to interrupt something that would get them sued, and essentially tucking the cast into bed at night was a major win and step forward in being more real in reality TV... while also exposing the fake.

THE BAD: Confusion in character

It's hard to really get to know/get attached to everyone when there are so many people in the house, but I felt like they did a pretty decent job. I think Arielle's Ashley is the only one we didn't really get to know much about. BUT... during the reunion, did anyone else feel like the people they had seen all season weren't the real deal? Jay was called out big time, and Jenny not only ran back to Brian, but she broke her bond with Cory. This is a big reason why I wish I had gotten to talk to some of them. WHO THE EFF ARE THEY?! I feel like I'd never doubt anything that came out of Arielle's mouth, and Cory seems to keep it pretty real... so I'll go with what they say is true.

THE UGLY: Brian. 

I should maybe just call this the AWKWARD. It was awkward to see him try so hard to be friends with the guys. Awkward to see him throw his dignity away. Awkward to see him be so into himself. His "deep thoughts" and sentences were awkward... oof.


I wanna also mention Arielle. She was the refreshment of the season. She was a real friend for people, she helped out, seemed intelligent, but wasn't trying to play mommy of the house. There was nothing you couldn't like about her, and that deserves some props! [Plus, my blog had some pretty unfortunate first impressions of her based on what I had read and I need to recognize that and give another apology beyond a few tweets.]

We already know it's going to be a very different season in terms of relationships and dynamics with all of the exes in the house.. but now it's time to get our first real look!

Can you imagine the awkwardness of having your ex live in a house where you're also living with your new lover, though?! Haaaa, this could be really good, y'all.

Finally, the last piece to the puzzle. [Unless one of them may have moved out and there's a new one in the house... which is a definite possibility right now.]

I'm starting to wonder if they purposely picked a lot of people from the area and this is just a new kind of Real World they're looking to do. The current "formula" has been consistently fading out and dropping popularity points, so maybe this is going to be completely different. It'll be interesting to see if it's actually different good, though.

Based on pictures alone, I feel like I'll really like her. She said she doesn't like a lot of her pictures to be edited [even though I think it's obvious they are] so we see the real her... but other than that she looks like a fun chic.

If her last name is pronounced like "delish," it's very fitting.

Seems as though they've gone pretty far from the real or average looking cast with this house full of models and LA-residents.

Well, she's definitely gorgeous... and it seems like she's beautiful whether modeling or just chillin' out with no make-up on. Lucky bitch. It'll be interesting to see how much of this whole singing/acting thing shows up during the season. It's typically a trainwreck, but I always have hope that it'll work out for someone.

My friend who lives in SF actually completed part of the mission I gave him already. Turns out he hung out with a couple of them the other night and said something about a girl with big boobs... looks like this is the one. He also gave me some other hints but we'll see how far we can go with all of this.

As for more pics of them out and about, this one is pretty clear, but I'm assuming there are some extras in there.

We've been pretty lucky with the eye candy of the fellas so far, but don't worry.... You dudes are gonna like this one.

She looks really familiar to me, but I can't figure out where she's from in WV right away... and it looks like we only have two people in common so we'll see what they can tell me.

real world san francisco: meet cory!

Seems like this is all going to be very fast for this season, unlike the last two... after less than a week we have another roommate and reports of a brawl!

Today, we meet Cory Wharton.

real world 29 is headed to san francisco! see the house and first roommate thomas

Time to kick back into Real World stalking hunting searching mode! Thanks to Vevmo for once again finding the location and letting the world know that MTV is headed back to Cali... San Francisco!

It's doubtful it will be able to live up to the original season in San Fran since it was probably the best ever [and if we're being honest, I don't know if any "back to" season has been better than the first], but you know we'll be keeping tabs and watching alone.

THE HOUSE: 1244 Sutter Street, 32,000 sq. feet of goodness.

There's a PDF for the place with the realty.

It's super old, but looks like it has a lot of potential... and we all know BMP can work some magic on these buildings. I can't wait to see how it looks in the end!

And thanks to his friends [and him, really] for being idiots awesome and tweeting about his departure, we know Ft. Worth native Thomas Buell is on his way.

I'm honestly so shocked by how blunt they were on Twitter that I wonder if this is actually a decoy like the ones they sent to DC. It'd be smart of them, but it's not like we wouldn't figure it out eventually.

There's a lot of pressure on this cast to save the series.... so I hope they picked well! I'll be on top of my game trying to find out anything I can during filming. I've got someone who coincidentally works near the house and has friends who live next door to it. They are fully aware I expect some goodies since I can't afford to fly out there.
