I was having a really rough couple of days... where I couldn't even escape my thoughts in the studio, which is my happy place. Then... something magical happened. I was driving in and saw this guy putting on a show in front of a pretty major roadway.

Headphones in, ass up. Slow motion. Snap, head flip. and go.


I honestly don't think he knew anyone was watching him. He was just doing his thing! and what a beautiful thing it was for five minutes.

video interview: justice crew teaches me some "dance" moves

Justice Crew: A bunch of dancers from Australia's Got Talent who turned into a full on guy singing group, with a fantastic song called "Que Sera" that has lyrics worthy of Pinterest shares.

Their song broke records on the ARIA charts, which is basically like the hipster version of the Billboard charts. [Over in Australia.. same thing as Billboard, but their number 1s don't make it to America til WAYYY later.]

We talked about this crazy awesome Australian sunset, hearing their song on the radio, and then they taught me how to do their crazy "swing move." Spoiler alert: This is my face afterwards.

Never say no to anything, right?! Oof.

They were cool guys, and I could listen to their accents forever... plus- dancers AND singers?! Sweet baby Jesus could these be better catches for future husbands?!

watch: elders react to twerking

Okay, so we've seen old ladies try to twerk, but this is better. This is a batch of grannies and gramps of all varieties being exposed to twerking, and giving their epic reactions. [Yeah, I'm still saying epic- get off me.]

First of all, Don and Rock are the freakin' MANS! [Saying men seemed weird.] They made me laugh the most. [And Granddad's name is Don, so that's obviously where the awesome comes from.]

"I can't move like that, bro!" Oh my goodness, I almost lost it.

Then we get the "we get excited about an ankle or a wrist, but a booty, upside, shaking to the music? HELLO! We explode!" A little TMI, dude... but I loved every word of it.

My stomach seriously hurts from laughing. I love it. So much.

i spy: gifs of parents "gettin down" at the club

I'm not sure if I'll ever laugh as hard as I did when I saw my dad tear up the dance floor, but being out the other night and see a couple of parents doin' their thang had my jaw dropping.

First of all, the Cosby sweater dad... 

He didn't need any other moves. Rocking back and forth with a little extra flair caught my eye more than blondie twerkin' it on the side. 

Then we had this lady, who may not be a mom, but she looks like one.

She was all about DJ Canrock giving her some attention, and she worked him like a pole... on the stage. She clearly loved that accidental ass touch, too.

But now, my friends, I present to you this mother/daughter duo [again, my assumptions.] They came dressed in some serious clubwear, thigh-high boots, and coats that they only wore on one arm, because two would obviously make them much too hot.

Just twerkin' away on her daughter.. 

I call this the "now lean back, lean back, lean back...."

Keep up that rhythm, ladies. 

And then... I got caught, just as the humping was beginning. Mama wanted every bit of junior's booty in her lap, and thought the video-bomber was just playin' along too... Silly drunk goggles.

I really need to start sitting back and observing other people like this. People watching is just so, so much fun... almost as fun as causing the scene yourself. 

But seriously.... I hope I run into those two ladies again. Pure entertainment.

i spy: granny gettin down and crunk at the club

You may have seen my Twitpic over the weekend describing the grandma we had at our club event on Friday night, and my promise to put up a video.

I have kept my promise! This grandma was taking shots, droppin' it like it's hot, and backin' it up on all the boys in the club.

No, really... I'm not kidding.



Some grannies know how to party, some don't. This one clearly did.

She was with some younger ladies [by younger, I mean about 40-50 years old] who were all about her having the time of her life. No one cared I was videoing/taking pictures.. In fact: she high-fived me when she caught me!

Bobby Hollywood kept calling her out on the mic, and she would just drop it even lower or shake it even faster. The finger in the mouth that moves down her shirt and into her cleavage: It happened. It. Was. Amazing.

If only I hadn't forgotten my camera in my car this night, of all nights. Thank goodness my phone has a decent one.

I've changed my ways of finding "bloggable content" since being on the radio. I gotta make sure I get everything posted the day it leaks or else I'm behind. Sometimes that sucks. A lot.

Tonight I've been surfing around like the good ol' days and found some gold in the break-dancing department of videos.

First up: I know you feel invincible when you're drunk but like, you probably shouldn't think you're the best break-dancer in the whole world. Nor should you be throwing your body around.



Congrats, homeboy. You officially KO'd yourself.

And then there's the boy trying to impress the ladies....



Hmmmm.. Call me crazy, but I don't see that being the way to get the girl. Just sayin'.

Next time you think about break-dancing in front of people.... rethink it. Then rethink it again, cuz I know the first rethink probably told you to just go for it.

It's funny because New Yorkers are probably so used to this by now that when they see a camera, they just deal with it. They make no reaction. HOW CAN YOU NOT LAUGH AT THIS?! Silly New Yorkers. Loosen up, would ya?

i spy: a guy turning a dc intersection into his stage

Tweet I did a lot of running around while I was home last week. I love adventures! When my NYC adventure came to an end [after a way too long bus ride], it ended comically.

We pulled up at the intersection to find a man twirling and jumping around, shouting random things that sounded something like "New York", in the middle of a relatively busy intersection in the middle of DC.

As you can imagine, people were gathering, honking, laughing... and wondering what the H this man was doing and if he'd ever stop.



That's obviously only a quick moment of how long he went for. I was at that intersection for a good 20 minutes and he never once stopped or slowed down. The only thing that slowed down were the cars that couldn't move thanks to him.

Part of me wonders if he's still alive. I'd end up getting some pretty serious road rage and probably just trampling him. It was 4pm on a New Year's Eve Friday, after all.

I've always wanted to stumble upon the random craziness of people, and now I've caught one on tape. I hope he got his ish together.

If you didn't know, July 31st is National Dance Day!! Exciting, right?! What's more exciting: The peeps from So You Think You Can Dance are trying to get flash mobs ACROSS THE NATION!

You know these are my favorite things ever. You know I've been trying to be a part of one for SO long.

Now's the chance to make it happen.

DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton already approved the idea to do it at Malcolm X Meridian Park with special guest Nigel Lythgoe! DC kids- BE THERE. Tape it. Send it to me. I credit you. We all smile.

BCS peeps! We have to make this happen! I don't know where yet, nor do I know the time, but I know if I get enough people to comment below and say they're down to make it happen, I'll start planning it tomorrow.

In the meantime- ALL of you can make sure you learn the special dance! Seriously... Tabitha and Napolean from SYTYCD made up a special, easy routine for everyone to do that day! AMAZING.

watch: 4 year old asian dancer

Ellen has shown me a 4 year-old hip-hop dancer before and I was amazed, but this kid's even better.

First of all, he's Asian. Call me racist if you want, I know I'm not... All I'm sayin' is... Not every Asian has moves... Especially at the age of 4.

Not to mention he was battling people on Hollywood Boulevard.



WHAT?! Do you see him?! Before he goes he gives the look like "What the H do these people think they're doing?! They need to step aside. I'm gonna show them how to do this. Let's go!"

Obviously someone like him, Yiming Wang, can't squeeze by under Ellen's radar.



What a MACHINE! He's a mini Asian Michael Jackson! Wow. I think I shall hire him to reteach me how to dance. I wonder how much extra a translator will be...
