watch etv: my flash mob/debut tease for hot 100.5

When I get to a new place, I don't exactly like to creep up and magically show up on the air. I gotta make a bang of an entrance.

Last week, my first week at HOT, we spent multiple 12+ hour days planning things, shooting videos, and editing them up. We made this teaser video [which I think is pretty damn tease-y, if you ask me] and then put together this flash mob with some of my new coworkers and friends on ODU's campus.

It's not the biggest flash mob you'll ever see, but it was random, it was planned in less than 24 hours, and it caught people's attention... and that's what matters, my friends. Plus, it was hella fun and checked off a bucket list item! Holla!

Make sure you paid attention to the tall ginger kid who runs around aimlessly pretty much the entire time. I'm pretty sure he, Corey, is the star of the video.

And TONIGHT my voice debuts on the station as I cohost Corey's show [which will become mine once the listeners are warmed up]. Tune in starting at 6pm!

get ready for national dance day!

If you didn't know, July 31st is National Dance Day!! Exciting, right?! What's more exciting: The peeps from So You Think You Can Dance are trying to get flash mobs ACROSS THE NATION!

You know these are my favorite things ever. You know I've been trying to be a part of one for SO long.

Now's the chance to make it happen.

DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton already approved the idea to do it at Malcolm X Meridian Park with special guest Nigel Lythgoe! DC kids- BE THERE. Tape it. Send it to me. I credit you. We all smile.

BCS peeps! We have to make this happen! I don't know where yet, nor do I know the time, but I know if I get enough people to comment below and say they're down to make it happen, I'll start planning it tomorrow.

In the meantime- ALL of you can make sure you learn the special dance! Seriously... Tabitha and Napolean from SYTYCD made up a special, easy routine for everyone to do that day! AMAZING.

watch: hey jude gathering in nyc subway

It's a known fact I've wanted nothing more than to be a part of a flash mob, huge gathering, or just viral video in general. It's rumored that the reason the Real World DC clan had to leave earlier than planned is because of my plan to flash-mob-Macarena the house the day before their departure. Woopsies.

Now you should be able to understand my disappointment and anger that I missed out on the latest one in NYC, ONE DAY after I was there.

A group gathered at the Times Square subway station Saturday night to sing Hey Jude.



Look at all the people taping it and all the people! They clearly know this is an epic moment. Ugh.

When will someone plan something and give me a special invite?! I'm impatiently waiting...

watch: jmu flash mob

Another one of my favorite kind of video of 2009! A flash mob!

Or, I guess it was called a flash RAVE at JMU.

It's finals week, but that's not what's on their mind as they head to the library. Instead, thousands of students stormed the library to have a party, crowd surf, dangle from the upper floor, and well... Have a dance party.



As a hater of all Virginia schools [I know, I shouldn't be considering I'm from VA... But for some reason I'm an 100% out of state kinda gal], it's hard for me to do this, but I've gotta give you props, JMU.

This is pretty freakin' sweet. I'm uber jealous that A) I couldn't be a part of such thing [as usual], and B) WVU could never pull anything of the sort off because the popo's would come in and pepper spray everyone within a mile radius.

So congratulations on conducting the year end's best flash mob. That was good. Real good.

watch: high school student flash-rob convenience store

This is half smart, and half terrible.

50-60 students rushed into a convenience store to take part in one of the Internet's biggest trends right now. Not only did they create a flash-mob, but they robbed the store, too.



As terrible as this may be to admit, I've totally thought about this and wondered why no one had tried it. I guess it's a good thing I didn't, eh?!

Also... a note to Bunim/Murray Productions: Now I understand why you were a little worried about the potential flash-mob we were planning. We totally could have broken into the house and taken the valuables you borrowed for the show, huh?! I apologize for the scare.
