nifty: life-size gummy versions of yourself

Once again, Japan is proving that they're THE COOLEST COUNTRY EVER!

To celebrate "White Day," which is kinda like Valentine's Day, one company is making life-size gummy versions of people. LIFE-SIZED, GUMMY, YOU!

I'm not saying we should ever eat that much gummy substance, but like.... Just IMAGINE being able to take a bite out of yourself!
Okay, maybe that's a little creepy.

Did I mention it only costs $65?! And a little time standing in front of a camera.

 Just imagine your honey unwrapping this beast of a candy. You'd win any gift giving contest for the rest of your life.

Seriously. I've had enough of all this teasing. It's time to move to Japan. Surely they have some kinda American/English radio there........ WHO'S WITH ME?!

what ya wearin wednesday 022713

Oh hi! Happy Wednesday! Let's see all the sexy!

No joke, all I wanted was a pair of green jeans this morning, then @melmoraes had to go and wear this cute outfit. Now I gotta go shopping.

My little bro @Ploger finally decided to jump in on the action in his fancy suit on the set of WVU News!

@KaciKruz wore a red dress with those fabulous Target heels to a fashion show! Good choice. The dudes love a lady in red. 

@aarronjustin lookin good in a plaid and v-neck! [PS he was totally an extra on Nashville last week which made me geek out. Whatevs. I'm so proud of the people I know!]

@Song_of_adam was rockin the Levi's and red kicks. I enjoy.

I also enjoy @danchiz's striped socks showing. Not many people can pull it off correctly.

@epbsgirl was reppin' her old team!

I love @amsnedegar's dress and cardigan combo! Simple and cute!

Once again, I'm jealous I don't have more stripes. This time thanks to @eewerner

@toribabyy14's fluorescent pants are fantastic! They're toned down with the shoes, but I love em most with the jean jacket.

Every time I look at @barelyaware's flats I fall more in love. Great match with her necklace.

A simple white top and boots is super cute on @BrookeOnHOT, and why I love fall/winter fashion.

And @frocks4life's neon/lots of jewelry combo will be my inspiration this weekend or next week. 

After getting super pissed that I couldn't find my dark purple jeans for the outfit I planned in my head, I threw this together.

my march instagram challenge: hot pic a day

I've tried to do these instagram challenges so many times, but I don't think I ever make it very far beyond two days completed. Not in March! I will complete it all!

Why am I so determined? Well, mostly because I came up with one that we're doing with the station so I can't be a hypocrite.... but also because it's just fun, duh.

If you're a fan of our station, you'll notice a lot of familiar "themes" in them. Most are tied in with our shows' topics and things we do, or our events. Still, they're all easy for everyone to do!

Just in case you don't know how they work- Every day you post a picture on instagram with our hashtag #HotPicADay, and you use the corresponding number/date for your inspiration! It's like instagrampiration! Or... something.

I really think you should save it, and jump in on the fun! Even if you don't listen to the station. [Which is stupid considering it's my station and I'd really appreciate you listening. Kthanks.]

pinspired recipe: super simple banana chips

Football season is over, I'm a [not so] solid ten pounds heavier than last summer, and I've eaten enough junk/dine-out food to last me a decade. I looked at Pinterest for healthy things and went straight to the grocery store.

I'm a huge fan of all fruit and most vegetables, so it's not hard for me to eat healthy, but I do like to switch things up. The banana chips pin looked like they came straight out of a dried fruit bag and seemed simple so I tried it.

When I first pulled them out of the oven, I'm not going to lie to you, I damn near took them straight to the trash. They were so brown and unappealing, and really not that dry. I tried them anyway, and they were good! I just couldn't look at them while I picked them out. 

RECIPE: 

1. Slice up a bunch of bananas. [I did two, and they lasted me about 3 minutes.]
2. Spritz or sprinkle some lemon juice on them
3. Bake for an hour at 200 degrees
4. Flip and bake for another hour
5. The longer they sit out afterwards, the dryer they'll get.

They say the riper the banana, the sweeter they'll taste, and as far as I can tell, that's true. I also saw some variations where you sprinkle cinnamon [without sugar] on them, or drizzle chocolate for a dessert. I will definitely be trying the cinnamon next time. 

Some things to know: 

• The slices will shrink significantly
• They will get much more brown than when you started
• The thicker the slice, the more soft they'll be coming out of the oven
• Lemon juice isn't necessary

I'll probably be filling you in on lots of Pinspired recipes I try, if they come out differently than I imagined. If not, I'll inform you on Twitter how delicious they were.

nifty: you need to start sending friends these drunk postcards

Before we continue, let's all agree on one thing:

Snail mail > E-mail

Sure, email is way quicker and snail mail is like so 1989, but finding something in your mailbox that's actually something cool is a week-maker.

Now that we've settled that....

You need to check out DrunkCards, order some for only $2 a pop [including postage], and snail mail those suckers to all your ridiculous friends.

I mean, there might be some inside jokes behind those, but all of the cards on the site are simple yet bizarre, and all about being reckless. 

If you're too cheap to spend a couple dollars on your loyal, fantastic friends, you could always cheat [I would never condone such a thing as what I'm about to say] and print their e-cards out. 

I think they're fantastic, and I will spend entirely too much time sending these out to friends. If you want one, you just let me know! 

Oh and BTW, you can get one sent to you for free to try it out. You betta believe I signed up for that!
