watch/listen: "product of the 90s"

Oh hey, 90s lovers! You will LOVE this flashback rap! Big Hush from College Station is just as obsessed with the best decade EVER as we are, so he put together this catchy song that will help you remember EVERYTHING you loved.

I've listened to it every day for the past week or so. It's so fun! [And NO, I'm not saying it because I'm biased! If you didn't give it a chance, you're stoopid silly.]

Making a music video for it could be fun, but then again... the way he did it is perfect, so I'll just let you enjoy and share!
OH, and download for yourself, duh!

watch: justin bieber kills an otis freestyle

Some of my friends in Texas [one in particular, anyway] will probably kick my ass for saying this, but damn! Justin Bieber KILLED this freestyle over the Otis beat! And I mean that in a GREAT way.

This radio station had NO faith in him, and he might have been a little shaky at first, but wait til he says "hold on, I'm not done." [Yes, even Bieber haters should watch this. If I'm delirious in thinking he's good, prove it.]

Homeboy just rapped a thank you speech with some serious swag, and looked HELLA CUTE doing it. Seriously. Imagine if he goes all Chris Brown on his next album and raps too? AND play the instruments? Tell me this kid doesn't deserve the fame he has, I dare you.

He amazes me sometimes. I swear I used to hate him, but nowadays it's hard to.

watch: your what be yankin?

Hm. This video left me so speechless that I genuinely don't even know how to introduce it to you beyond "make sure it's not blasting if you're at work."

Okay, I'm not sure what "yankin" means, but I'm pretty sure I don't want me hoo-ha to be doin' it.

I asked good ol' Urban Dictionary what it meant, and this is what it gives me:
  • Slang meaning exceptional level of excitement and enjoyment; crankin
  • A term used to refer to a vagina with multiple STDs. Often with visible blisters and/or warts, accompanied usually by a terrible stench.
I mean, the first meaning is perfect, but who actually knows that's what yankin' is?! Especially after watching this song!

Oy. Some people are just..... special.

PS: The top comment on YouTube is pure GOLD.
"What a stunning display of beauty, grace, and elegance. I want this song played at my wedding."

watch/listen: d-why's "crazy world"

I've known D-Why for a few years now [he's a fellow Mountaineer and even won Homecoming King, HOLLA!], he's been featured on my "Local Limelight" about a year ago, but for whatever reason he's bojangled on getting an interview/feature on this site!

He's not bojanglin' when it comes to his hustle, though. I'm pretty proud of him, really.

I was ESPECIALLY proud when I saw this video. It's just really good. ANYONE will like it because even I like this song.. and it takes more than just someone who can spit a rap for me to like their "underground" song. [Yes, even if it's a friend of mine, I'm not going to share their music with you if I think it blows.]

Anyway, check it out! He's gone from Morgantown to NYC and he's KILLIN' IT. Can't wait to see it when he really takes off.

He's a crazy guy who's got a lot to let out into the world. Check out more of his stuff and show him some love! I already saw some people sharing this on Facebook and I have no idea how they know him, but I'll take full credit I'm not mad about it.

watch: hilarious translation of freestyle battle

Like I said yesterday, I've been in need of a few laughs from around the Internet that I may have missed, and luckily Katelynn shared this gem with me.

You know how freestyle battles work. You've seen 8 Mile. You've listened to hip hop.

Now watch the gentleman's translation of said rap battle:

Like I said, I know this is something that's been around for a while but if I haven't seen it, you may not have either.

And you're welcome... Because there will never be a more perfect translation of rap battles.

elizabethanyTV: meet mookie jones

The night of the Travie McCoy show was interesting, as I've already explained. Also interesting- one of the guys who opened up for him, Mookie Jones.

I wish I could tell you where he's from or what he's reppin' besides the US and Pluto, but I can't.

What I can tell you is he's a hungry artist looking to make it big, and he's got the personality and talent to do so. If you like a little bit outrageous and a lot of local talent, check him out. Also check out this quick "interview" I got with him before the show.

Seriously, we've been walking around the office screaming AUTOOOO at random ever since this night, and tomorrow I'll show you another [FAIL] video of why it's even better/funnier.

Also: If you're in the BCS area and want to check out Mookie in person, he's performing at Rock the Republic, so be on the lookout and check him out! [PSST! If you come see me at The Drink on Thursday night, you could get 3 day passes for free!]

watch: p-nut the 7 year old rapper

It must be the day of child musical geniuses.

You've gotta meet P-Nut. He's 7 years old, and already a rap sensation in Memphis.

No really... He's performing with a bunch of Memphis rappers, and he's got some advice for kids who may want to make their dream come true one day.

How cute is he?! I seriously think he's got a bit of an older soul, but dang! The kid's got it goin' on! The way he talks, his posture, everything is so grown!

Maybe he and Willow can have a Chrianna relationship... Without the hitting, of course.

watch: people of walmart rap

This is absolutely the funniest thing I have seen this year.

I'm thinking some of you have become addicted to the People of Walmart like the BFF and I, but if you haven't, I'm thinking this rap will peak your interest quite a bit.

My friends, I give to you, the people of Walmart... At their finest... With help from some before-unknown rapper.

These are real people. None of it is fake. They're really found in a Walmart store somewhere across the US looking like this.

Oh. My. God.

Thank you, J Dirty, for making it even funnier than it once was.
