tunes on tuesday 112409

WAHOO for Tuesday! Time to get some new songs! LOTS of videos today! [Thanks to The Hype Factor!]

Toni Braxton ft. Trey Songz--> So Yesterday

I. Love. It. Maybe I love it because I love that it's Toni Braxton AND Trey Songz, but it's a really pretty song. It reminds me of the old stuff. The good stuff. Ah. Obsessed. And so what if Trey's voice is higher than Toni's?!

Janet Jackson--> Make Me

Love this too! It's very genuine of Janet, don't ya think?! Greatness.

Jennifer Paige ft. Nick Carter--> Beautiful Lie

Hmmm... I can't decide how I feel about this song. It's not bad, but it's not living up to the past couple I just posted, for obvious reasons. It feels like a day of comebacks though, doesn't it?!

Chris Brown--> Crawl

Diggin' this video, big time! It just works. He definitely made sure to squeeze in that dance number, too.

Michael Buble--> Haven't Met You Yet

Michael Buble is good. He's refreshing. I enjoy, in a chill kind of way.

Shakira ft. Kid Cudi--> Did It Again

Ohh I can totally get down to this! I enjoy! Is it bad I wish Britney would have done it, though?!

Aaron Carter ft. Flo Rida--> Dance With Me

Another name we haven't heard from in a while, and another Carter brother! He's gotta make some money for all the back taxes he owes! Flo Rida makes any song good... I don't care what you say, it's true.

Adam Lambert--> Whataya Want From Me

Here we go.. Someone new. He's totally been American Idolized, don't ya think?! Maybe he likes this music, but it's not what I saw him creating.

Country Music:

Clay Walker--> She Won't Be Lonely Long
Meh, it's okay. Typical, really.

Steve Helms Band--> Between You and Me
I like this song, I think. It's slow, but it's pretty.

Darius Rucker--> Candy Cane Christmas
I'm anti-Christmas-music-before-Thanksgiving, but it's Darius Rucker, so anything is allowed.

Love and Theft--> Dancing In Circles
I heart these people. This isn't as great as "Runaway" in my mind, but I do like it. The violin adds a nice touch.

Zac Brown Band--> Highway 20 Ride
Must be a slow song d

superbowl halftime show: the who

The halftime show for Super Bowl XLIV has been announced... The Who will be performing.

"Did you hear the old Britist rock group is performing at the Super Bowl this year?!"
"The who?!"
"YEAH! You did hear! I don't know who they are, though... Do you?!"
"No but... Who's playing?!"
"The Who! You don't know them either?!"
"WHO IS PLAYING?!"
"The Who is playing!"
... This convo could go on forever....

I'm so disappointed. The Janet Jackson incident was six years ago. When will the guys in charge ever get over it?!

They even admit that they've been picking these older rockers as a safety net, and even though it happened back in 2004, Janet's boob haunts them.

The way I look at it- Everyone has learned their lesson... For now. If they were to go back to the old days of having exciting groups from today, those people would know better than to pull such a stunt. Give it another couple years, and people will have the balls to try it again.

Let's just take a look at the past 10 performances:

XXXIV

XXXV [My favorite ever... For obvious reasons, and for its creativity... And it's probably your favorite, too.]

XXXVI

XXXVII

XXXVIII [The incident]

XXXIX

XL

XLI [Maybe the closest to getting a little risky..]

XLII

XLIII

They're just not exciting like they used to be. Prince turned his guitar into a wang, but that's about the only excitement we've gotten. [And maybe Bruce Springsteen's crotch hitting the camera.]

They used to switch up the producing group [Disney, MTV, Clear Channel, etc all had chances to plan the show], but now it's Don Mischer Productions screwing it up every year. Lame.

I'm sure plenty of people are excited about The Who, and that's great... But imagine a collabo that included Lady Gaga, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Jay Z, Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kanye West... Holy crap... It'd be epic.

Hmph. With my Redskins obviously not headed to Tampa, and a lame halftime show, I'll be watching for the commercials and delicious food to snack on.

finally!

So Janet Jackson has been saying that once her tour was over, she wanted to have a baby.

She also canceled a decent amount of her concerts while on tour.. Due to illness.

Now, we might be finding out why she canceled. Sources are saying that she is finally pregnant!!

Apparently the 42 year old got preggers completely naturally thanks to hubby Jermaine Dupri.

I think this is really great for her but uh, 42 is awfully old to be having your first child. I just wonder if there are going to be a lot of terrible complications with it. I hope not though!

And by the way, word isn't really out there yet because they're saying it's very early in the pregnancy and they don't want to tell the world yet.

Woops. Looks like someone already did. And word spreads fast these days, Sorry! But good luck!
