beyond the real world cameras: blowing kisses goodbye with brandon

Brandon put it perfectly last night when we talked about the hate between the roommates of St Thomas- When you cast a bunch of people from the East Coast, they're just going to compare dicks all day.

He's been one of the most straight-up, honest people of this season and it was sad to see him have to leave a couple days early, but I was glad to get some alone time with him on the phone to talk about it all.

Who he was with when he made the oopsies, what else happened with the girl he got hammered with, and whether or not he still thinks Swift has no respect for the ladies... he answered it all. I also had to call him out for lying to me before and being cute while hooking up with said drunk girl. [FYI: Don't tell him he's cute around other people. It'll ruin his badass reputation!]

And to celebrate the VMA's, I also asked him his favorite MTV moment of all time.



Yeah, we got slightly inappropriate at the end of that but whatever.

The finale is next week, and as I said, I won't be able to watch it live! BUT! I'll have all sorts of end-of-season polls that I'll want you to answer so we can give out some awards to these roomies. Feel free to tweet me your thoughts as you're watching!

beyond the real world st thomas cameras: a tall order of robb and brandon!

YOU GUYS. We've seen 6 episodes, and I've talked to 6/7 of the roommates! I'm baa-aaack.

I've been waiting for a good time to talk to Robb, and apparently I did it right! Brandon happened to be at his house last night when we chatted, so obvi I got him on the phone, too.

We talked about what made Marie so *different* that he fell for her and what he'd do if Marie was hit on in front of his face like Laura was. I also got a question from Callie on Twitter- Why didn't anyone call out Trey for being a hypocrite!?

Seems like Robb kept his distance from Trey while on the island.

Also, Brandon let us in on what they really did on St Patty's Day [yacht party!] and why being on the Real World has ruined his childhood loves.

I've also been wondering if there may be an interesting dynamic between LaToya and Swift after talking to him last week. And by "interesting dynamic," I mean the need for a good hate-bang. Obviously I asked the boys about this.



"The only couple still together?!" Oh no! WHO SAW THAT COMING?! ;)


Goodness I can't wait until this reunion. It's clear they don't all love each other, and there are going to be some colorful conversations.

Hopefully I can snag Laura for next week! If not, do you have a fave that I should get back on? Hollerback!

let's do it: the real world st thomas premiere!

I've told you how it's going to go down, now it's time to make it happen! Wednesday night, 10pm EST, meet me right here to chat about the debut of 7 new strangers living on their own freaking island.



Since I was sent the first couple episodes to pre-screen, here are my initial thoughts on what we can really expect:

The roommates: 

Marie and LaToya had me cracking up the entire first episode. They had HUGE personalities and so far, are very likable.
Marie is a bit of a bitch, but in the "Imma tell you how it is and we're gonna laugh about it" way. Basically, just how I like my friends. She had no idea what to expect when meeting her first roommate- "He might be black, white, orange, who knows." Then she met ginger Robb... "All orange."
LaToya had me cracking up when she was getting off the plane and referred to herself as Michelle Obama. I can't type it to make it funny, so just be on the lookout for that moment.
Laura is totally cute, but already the center of an intense love triangle.

So far, all the guys are also really likable. I was worried about Trey after the stuff I found while filming, but as of now, he's an effing hottie. And Swift- hello sir, can I have you?

The drama and the storylines: 

They certainly didn't hesitate with jumping right into some serious cases of drama, as well as roommate relationships. There's also already a severe outcast. Just wait until you hear the music they play when the poor roomie is left alone.
If episode 1 is setting up the rest of the season, it's safe to say we're going to have everything a good Real World season needs: love/triangles, stupid fights, crazy girls, and more serious drama. I just hope they didn't jump into it all too soon, to be honest.

our first looks at real world 27: st thomas cast and more

As you know, Real World 27 is happening right now in St. Thomas! As I'm very interested to see how this smaller location plays out, it looks like it might not be too hard to follow along! There's an awesome St. Thomas Blog that is keeping up with the cast and their happenings!

Also, an island photographer named Candace Hall also captured some action as the cast played with her son on the beach!

How adorable and hotttt is that guy playing with the kid? Yum.

The blog also has some of the first info on cast members. They said this man is Brandon Kane, from South Boston, Massachusetts.

Commenters are also saying there's a blonde named Marie.. and there are 4 guys, 3 girls.

Over at Vevmo, people are saying it seems to be a pretty rowdy bunch of people who can't hold their liquor. There's also already been an in-cast romance spotted. Sounds about right for Real World, no? Even though this picture doesn't really show it...

Based on tweets, it looks like they've been to a couple different bars. That one is at Starz, this was at Senor Frogs, I'm assuming for a pool party. [I am also suspicious on them working there... but that's just me running my brain and mouth.]

Dustin Zito family member? Is that you?

I'm going to need to make a list of tweets of people saying "I'm totally going to be on the Real World" throughout this filming. A lot of people really do say it.
