When I made the move back here to DC, I knew it was a huge move up for my career not just because it's a major city and I'm working with the best... but also because it would give me other opportunities!
Already I'm able to jump on one! Starting tonight- I'm back on the air in Hampton Roads every night! Listen to me on NOW 105.3 from 7-midnight!
I can't explain how excited I am to be back on the air down there, and just so super proud that I'm able to do this. Just... wow. It's all still so amazing to me.

You guys.... If I start acting all high and mighty and way cooler than you all of the sudden, it's for good reason. As of Friday morning, I'm now a Guinness World Record holder.
Okay, I'm one of 1085 people who became one, but still! We all came together in the sleeting weather to do a cartwheel at one time, and it was freaking awesome!

Seriously, it seems so simple, but we felt so accomplished, and I still feel pretty effing cool. To the gyms who helped put this on and all the people who came out: THANK YOU!
Some radio stations may call their holiday shows "Jingle Ball," but we like to get a little more fun [and real/ironic] with ours... we put on the Merry HOT Mess Fest!
The Ready Set [who performed at the MTV TJ finale!], Cody Simpson [15 year old Australian Biebs], and Karmin [from YouTube "Look At Me Now" fame, duh] all came to Norfolk to perform!
I've met/hung out with Cody and the Karmin duo before, and they were all awesome, so I was beyond excited to have them back! Karmin immediately commented on our awesome music video to their song and asked us to play a cover song game again. They're also really good at remembering fans they've met and making every fan feel special. I'm impressed.
I also asked Amy why she doesn't do her suicide roll hair anymore, and whewwww, that set her off. She said she feels like an Indie hair stylist because everyone stole her 'do, so Rolling Stone asked her not to do it for the cover! Since then she's been trying to come up with something new to do!
When I saw Cody, I decided it was time to give his fans a new name to talk about other than mine. [They're STILL retweeting him talking about my name, and they say they're gonna name their kids Elizabethany! That just can't happen.] We tried.. and well... we need more help.
The entire show was just a lot of fun and totally enjoyable. Even though I was running around like a madwoman in 4 inch heels, I still had a great time [and fell in love with a new song I can't stop listening to- Karmin's "Comin Up Strong." Nick sings it!]! You can hear it and see all of what went down in the video I put together: [Make sure you have it in HD mode so it's better, duh!]
I also can't complain about listeners coming up and asking for a bajillion pictures between performances. It may have been my favorite part.
Every day I still think it's crazy that I'm getting to do a job I truly love, but days/nights like that one... Pretty unbelievable that I get to do this.

If you know me in real life [or have known me at any point in my lifetime], you know I'm a very spirited person. I love showing it for holidays, events, companies, and of course- my favorite teams. But the thing I've always had the biggest love/spirit for is high school.
I was the girl dressed obnoxiously in school colors at every football game, pep rally, basketball game, or school event in general. There was also an OP [the school I went to] shrine in the back window of my car, full of pom poms, megaphones, a blanket, and who knows what else.
Anyway, I've always wanted to go back to high school or middle school, just for a day or a week, and experience the excitement of pep rallies or homecomings all over again. So far, the closest I've gotten is being able to make an appearance at Landstown Middle School's pep rally.
To say they were excited to be surprised with us is an understatement.
[I apologize for the shakiness... I tried to stabilize it as much as possible. I just had to share the awesomeness!]
When I first got contacted to do it, I was all, Yikes, nothing about me is appropriate for middle school children. Then we did it, and I had a freaking blast.
My show may be the worst thing for these kids to listen to, but apparently their parents don't care. No other group would have been that excited to see us. Some were CRYING! They were asking for autographs, taking pictures, and all sorts of other crazy things I'm not used to.
As weird and different as it was, it was really cool, and I walked away with a happiness I haven't felt in a long time. I am doing something that people are noticing, remembering, and loving... and that's a neat thing to realize from time to time.
So thank you to Rebecca, the girl who took a chance and contacted me about doing it. Thank you for pursuing your goals/thoughts, and thanks for picking us!
And thank you to everyone who listens, pays attentions, reads, whatever. I really can't say it enough.

PS: In the video, the kid breakdancing.. He broke his arm! While on video! If you look for it, you'll see his face hide the pain with a smirk, but the kid's a trooper! He not only stayed out there, but won the dance battle, and stuck around for pictures afterwards! You're awesome, Joe!

They came to Norfolk last week, so just like old times, I went down to see the crazies that were trying to be on the show. I also snatched Sam, who was helping judge everyone, for a quick chat.
Yeah, so, not a whole lot of crazies came through at all. A few people made it back for a second call back, but who knows if any of them made it beyond that. I'm totally rooting for the red-haired girl, but hopefully she didn't try too hard.
As for Sam, she's hilarious as always and how awesome is that mohawk?! In case anyone was wondering, she's still as humble and "normal" as I've ever seen her. She's even still delivering sandwiches for Jimmy John's.
Last week, my boss declared a "mandatory fun day" in the office. EVERYONE, from sales people, to on-air personalities from every station, to managers, was not allowed to work for the entire day. [Unless, of course, you're lucky enough to have the morning or night shift, which is beyond working hours....]
We met up at a restaurant on the beach for lunch, then he let us know we were being split up into teams and going on a day-long scavenger hunt.
We had 4.5 hours to complete a long number of challenges by racing around the 757 and taking pictures with an iPad. Each one was worth a certain number of points, and whoever had the most at the end of the day won a pile of prizes. Second place got nothing.

I had used the app in College Station before, so I took over the iPad and let my teammates figure out the best ways to zip around the cities. Here are some of the completed challenges:
Those are just a FEW of the challenges. We also got into a bank vault [but that's illegal for me to post], had to make strangers do different things with us, and SHOT A FREAKING GUN.
Yeah, I shot my first gun, and I got the target right on the throat. The sales manager who was in charge of that challenge said I had one of the top 3 shots of the day! It's kinda like I'm meant to do it or something. [Woah, CHILLLL, EB.]
It was a BLAST and I LOVED the team I had. Luckily, I knew everyone pretty well going into it, so I think it helped to all work together. Unfortunately, we got second place.
The team that got first place ended up executing the exact plan we had from the beginning, before our ADD got the best of us and we got off track. Slightly heartbreaking to realize that, but it's our own fault. The team that won even found a way to sneak on to the infield of the local baseball park.

Days like this one make me so thankful for the company I work for. Radio is a scary business, and I've been lucky enough to work for two amazing teams.
It's about that time again! Okay, so it's BEEN about that time, but there are some people I have to deal with in order to make these things happen every time, and they don't always work with me in the beginning.
ANYWAY, Sam is LOCAL here in Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads, and called into my show on my first day, so I HAD to bring her into the studio for not just a podcast, but some video interview action, too.
She's just like you see her on the show- Real, genuine, hilarious, and comfortable being her and no one else. I loved her!
In the video, we talked about all the roommates- who she'd bang, kill, and marry; what they did around the house [hints: secret drinking games and "gay monkey"....], and of course: Do her and Priscilla hook up?!
[As for the extreme green-screen, it was the best room for the job, but I didn't wanna take away from the interview by adding something to the back! So, it's there, and you won't care.]
She told me before about how some people have gone to the extreme in trying to contact her, and I want to talk about it on tonight's show, so in the podcast- she explains what happens late at night at her parents' home. Sam also revealed her current relationship status and how the Real World fame has changed her life in Hampton Roads.
I'm sure I'll have her on again sometime! It was great to have her in studio for a change! [It made for a lot more ADD conversation, though. We were all over the place!]
