beyond the challenge cameras podcast: sam and trey talk popping their cherries

Challenge podcasts aren't something I normally do, but there's no real reason for that beyond it being my "off season." Of course I still watch and get into it, but it's not as intently as a fresh season of Real World.

When Trey tweeted me about doing another podcast, I was totally down! And I had a genius idea: having Sam on as well! She comes into the studio to hang every once in a while, and it worked out perfectly!

They agreed and disagreed, and covered a LOT of ground... and considering this season leaves a whole lot of questions like "WTF JUST HAPPENED THERE?!" and "WHY IS THIS GOING ON?!"... they were able to answer a lot of those.

Just SOME of the things we talked about:

• Trey and Laura's "activities" while filming
• All of the couples' current relationship statuses
• How Trey and Marie were while filming
• The truth behind potential cast members being evaluated by psychiatrists
• The REASON everyone hated Trey
• What made the fish challenge even grosser than what we saw
• The prank that was pulled on Sam because of something Trey did
• and "Flagpoling"... the new pic trend thanks to Alton.

I really should do more of these, huh? I enjoy having Sam's take on it, too. If only it had been on video. Some of her facial expressions said WAY more than any of her words. How 'bout this: Next time I'll Ustream it live for you fancy folks.

watch: trailer for new mtv challenge- battle of the seasons

Ohhh snap! They're rolling these seasons out quick! As soon as Real World St Thomas is done, the new Challenge: Battle of the Seasons is up, and four of our St Thomas'ans are in there!

So are four of our favorite peeps from San Diego, including Sam! And I'm very pumped to see Jemmye back in action, along with those crazies from NOLa.

I've heard things from a couple people who were out there, and the hook-ups/fights sound random/unexpected and totally intense. I'm definitely excited for this season.


And YES! You're seeing the original AND the new Las Vegas in there, but they'll be teaming up together!

beyond the real world cameras: preparing for real world st thomas with priscilla

Can you tell I'm in Real World mode? ;)

I wanted to get into it even more by chatting it up with an old roommate, and what better season to pick from than the most recent?! Priscilla was also on the latest Challenge, so I called her up to catch up on her life, but more importantly: talk about what we think will happen this season. exclusive interview: frank sweeney rages through real world san diego

It's time for another Beyond the Real World Cameras podcast! Frank has been one of the most fun, but also one of the most controversial people on the show this season. We've seen him deal with drinking and anger issues, coming out of his shell a little and dealing with Zach and Ashley's discrimination, and last week's break up with Michael.

I talked to him about all of these issues, and asked him who he'd bang, kill, and marry [of course], but also find out which girl he's waiting on so he can be with her, which roommate rips out their fingernails, and his one regret in the house. Also: apparently some people have really changed after filming!

watch etv: party rockin with real world san diego's nate and sam in the studio

Nate was in town for a couple bar parties over Thanksgiving weekend [SO upset I couldn't make it to them because of having to get home for the holiday], but he and Sam stopped by the studio for a little bit on Wednesday night to get the party started.

I had them cohost my show for an hour while talked about the best and the most cheesy pick-up lines, since they seem to know their stuff.

BUT, that's not even the best part. I also wanted to know exactly what dance moves they throw onto the dance-floor when they're tryin' to get the ladies. After a couple minutes of going on tangents and stopping everything we were doing in order to get our Party Rock on, they spilled the beans.

[I also had to ask Sam what kind of underwear she wears, and of course, Nate got asked who he'd bang, kill, and marry.]



They were TOO fun, as expected. Hopefully he'll be back because I'd really enjoy a "How to Prank Your Friends" lesson from the two of them.

exclusive real world san diego podcast: priscilla x'es all the rumors

YES! Back on track for Real World podcasting! Today: Miss Priscilla Mendez.

This week's episode featured her and her ex Dylan trying to figure out what their relationship, but more importantly- figuring out where his bike had disappeared to!

We covered all the bases on that topic- Where they stand now, how he really reacted to the beyond-amazing prank, and why it was so hard for her to watch 8 times.

Because she's so mature but also fun, I had to bring up Zach and Ashley. [Yes, they really aggravate me that much, even though they're not shown a whole lot.] Apparently Zach went on the show for the opportunity to be on TV, but admits he's "not a social person, doesn't meet new friends, and doesn't open up to people." Cool. She said her opinion of them has changed since they all left the house!

Also- find out who she said she'd make the best lesbian pair with and the ultimate question: If her and Sam hook up.

exclusive [video and podcast] interview: sam mcginn- real world san diego

It's about that time again! Okay, so it's BEEN about that time, but there are some people I have to deal with in order to make these things happen every time, and they don't always work with me in the beginning.

ANYWAY, Sam is LOCAL here in Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads, and called into my show on my first day, so I HAD to bring her into the studio for not just a podcast, but some video interview action, too.

She's just like you see her on the show- Real, genuine, hilarious, and comfortable being her and no one else. I loved her!

In the video, we talked about all the roommates- who she'd bang, kill, and marry; what they did around the house [hints: secret drinking games and "gay monkey"....], and of course: Do her and Priscilla hook up?!

[As for the extreme green-screen, it was the best room for the job, but I didn't wanna take away from the interview by adding something to the back! So, it's there, and you won't care.]



She told me before about how some people have gone to the extreme in trying to contact her, and I want to talk about it on tonight's show, so in the podcast- she explains what happens late at night at her parents' home.
Sam also revealed her current relationship status and how the Real World fame has changed her life in Hampton Roads.



I'm sure I'll have her on again sometime! It was great to have her in studio for a change! [It made for a lot more ADD conversation, though. We were all over the place!]

Make sure you watch tonight's episode! It's going to be a tough one for Sam, and probably a lot of her fans.

nifty: rooftop attractions i want to visit

I think I've discovered a new obsession when it comes to places. I've always loved beautiful, water-y places, but now I have added amazing rooftops to my list. They're kinda adventurous and beautiful at the same time!

The Real World San Diego house obviously has an incredible rooftop area that I would have spent 90% of my time on, but there are many more amazing places around the world. Examples:

A POOL in Denmark! An infinity pool, 3 times the size of an Olympic pool, 650 ft. above the ground. Insane.




Trailer Park in South Africa. It's basically the penthouse suites of the Grand Daddy Hotel, but rooms are only $90 a night! Um, count me in!




Tennis Court in Dubai. Look. at. that. view.

Movie Theater in Australia. I'd have a hard time watching a movie when that view is surrounding me, but who cares. I'd watch a few movies.




The SkyBar in Thailand. There are tons of rooftop bars, but this one looks beautiful. It's on the 63rd floor and I want to play.




Ferris wheel in Japan. Not okay for people afraid of heights, but I think it's a fabulous idea! Plus- ferris wheel romance that high?! Heck yes!




BEACH in Switzerland! It's like my favorite things combined! It's on top of a parking garage, but has a pool, sand, lounge, the whole 9 yards!

All of these places have officially been added to the bucket list. In love.

I decided during last week's chat that a drinking game is necessary for the Real World. So, starting tonight, grab your friends [online friends in a chatroom totally count] and drinks, and be ready to get drunk!

Every time...

• Sam tricks a girl into thinking she's a boy, DRINK
• they show Ashley's butt, DRINK
• the fact that Priscilla is underage is mentioned, DRINK
• Frank hits on Alexandra, DRINK
  
• Alexandra mentions her boyfriend, DRINK
• Zach looks, acts, or says something narcissistic, DRINK

first impressions of real world: san diego

Last night was the premiere of the Real World's 26th season in San Diego, and as usual, we totally chatted it up! Doing a night radio show can't hold me down!

Because it's fun to look back on what we originally thought would happen, a summary of what went down in the chatroom is totally necessary. Mike said [in the chat] that you can't judge a show on its first episode, but that's a lie. You can judge anything within seconds, and that's what we all do. Doesn't mean it's right, but who always wants to be right? Not this girl.

My personal first impression: I think it'll be easy to like Sam, hate Zach, and envy Ashley. Those are probably the only strong vibes I've gotten so far. I could either love Frank's addition to the show, or be really annoyed quickly. We'll have to see how that plays out.

As for the season, I hope more happens than what was implied in the promos and "coming up" clips. It doesn't have me super excited to watch, but you bet I will!

Here's the general consensus of the chat last night:


I think most of us think there will certainly be some good parts... but we're not getting any extreme feelings of *OMG I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITH THAT!*


Zach, "the alpha male," has to get in one, right? But it's Frank who seems to be the serious instigator.


Sam is definitely going to bring an element that hasn't been seen on the show before. It should be pretty refreshing and entertaining. Frank will probably be more of the typical "Real World entertainment."


We all said that if Sam and Priscilla are gonna shower together, twice, in the same night, something is bound to happen in the future... right?! Plus- it seemed like Priscilla was practically asking for an experimental night. Maybe a makeout will happen, at the very least. And let's be honest... Barbie and Ken have to hook up. Again.


I'm surprised people had this response so early on, especially considering the dude barely did anything, but there's something douchey about the way he stands and looks. Hopefully this changes. I'd rather not have someone I want to punch in the face again. He's a little large for me to be doing all that.

There may not be a "forgotten one," and I normally hope there's not. The question still has to be asked, though.. and with Priscilla being a young buck, she's the most likely.

And in other, less important opinions: Their house is LE-GIT. I just want the roof. It totally trumps the Jersey Shore roof. The intro for this season is less than mediocre, though. Lame.

catching up with real world san diego spottings: there are lots of elizabethany-alikes

As far as how the locals are treating the filming of Real World San Diego, everything's looking pretty familiar. It's a lot like DC. Stalkers everywhere. Neighbors hating. And even a crazy blonde chic who keeps going to find them outside the house.

No, really. There's an EB-alike [or wannabe, depending on if you're a B or not] who's been making these videos of her going outside the house and then commenting on it.



Half of me is kinda obsessed with the fact that there's someone out there doing what I did, the other half has no comment. :) I'll leave that to you all.

Other stalkers have gotten some other good video of the cast, though. Here's another one of them at the Bird Rock Coffee Roasters:



Looks like someone found some boyfriend material, and then the ever-so-exciting coffee talk outside with all of the roommates! Weee.
[Side note: Apparently the Asian girl is only 19! I enjoy the idea of the stories she'll bring.]

They made the same reaction the DC'ers did- covering their face, looking pissed off, stopping their conversation. Looking back, I realize how obnoxious I was, but let's be real- they don't need to be all dramatic about it.

As for story lines... doesn't look like they have figured much out. Sightings have been pretty lame. There are a TON of tweets out there from strangers saying they hung out, signed waivers, made out, etc with the cast... but who knows what's real or worthy of anything.

real world san diego update: meet ashley and sam

Whew, it's been too long since I've done a full catch-up on all things Real World San Diego. I guess I got lazy with the boringness of stalking last season, but this season is proving to be full of hot tub wannabes!

Because of that, and thanks to the people on Vevmo for getting ALL of it posted on their forums, I can introduce you to two of the girls in the La Jolla house!

Meet Sam McGinn.

All her friends from home have been commenting saying she's a really awesome person, and if you can tell by a smile and Ke$ha Halloween costume, I'd say I agree. I'm excited for her!

• Graduated from UConn with a business major
• Trying to get into the model business [which shouldn't be too hard after this]

She's flipping BEAUTIFUL... and she has the "girl next door" type of beautiful about her, plus seems pretty likable in that video. I can't hate, that's for sure, and I know the boys definitely won't.

There have been some other cast sightings that I will put up in a separate post. I'm just here doing all I can to keep y'all in the loop without having to search through millions of posts like I do to get the info to ya! [And, duh, I kinda miss my stalking days.]

Someone who apparently partied with them said that Frank is going to be the biggest party animal. There are rumors that Nate could be gay and his mom doesn't know, and Zach could be the typical nothing-but-NFL-on-the-brain guy.

I was pretty off with ALL of my first impressions last season, so I'm not going to go in depth, but I'd say I'm going to like Frank a lot, he's totally cute and fun-seeming, Nate is iffy to me, and if Zach can act/look more like his bald picture [with added hair], I could be down with him, too.

watch: footage of filming/cast members for real world san diego

I had a good feeling about the peeps living in San Diego when I read all the haterade mixed with desire to stalk.. and clearly I was right!

Someone filmed this really awesome video of two cast members chattin' it up at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters.



It seems like they're not used to the camera yet, but they're definitely easy on the eyes!

Let's keep our fingers crossed for more! And if any of you San Diego'ans [who I shall call my proteges] need tips, you know who to get 'em from. ;)

the first sightings of real world 26: san diego

The next cast of the Real World has moved in, and it's lookin' like we may have it pretty easy when it comes to "stalking" them around the nation.

When it comes to how the city is reacting to the roommates moving in, it reminds me a lot of DC. Most of the city is acting pissed, and a decent amount of people are planning on going after them for some pics, smooches, and hot tub time. [I've trained them well... or so I'll tell myself.]

That being said, after only about a week, we have some pictures to check out! As most "spy pictures" are, they're mysterious. They don't tell us a whole lot yet, but they're still fun to look at.

I'd say if anything, they look typical. All a little different, the girl has the beach-esque bag, and the guy in the patterned shirt is reminiscent of old school roommates. As far as I can tell, that shirt's gotta go.

I'll be keeping you updated throughout the filming as usual, but if you have any pictures or info on them, or want to join the Real World-super-freak crowd, holler at Vevmo and me.

the next season of the real world is back to san diego!

It's about that time kids! Real World: Las Vegas is wrapping up, the next Challenge is right around the corner, so it's only right we have strangers moving into a house together to get Real sometime within the next week or so.

Location: San Diego!

Apparently they've run out of places considering we've had three back-to-___ seasons in a row, but I can't even complain after looking at this house. It's unreal.

They've already started hooking up the outdoor cameras and renovating, but who even cares about that? Just look at the house that is costing them $15,000 A MONTH in mortgage.
