What do more people watch? The "kickoff celebration" of the Super Bowl on January 29th, or the Super Bowl halftime show on February 1st?
Hmmm.. I'm going to go ahead and say the halftime show. As long as it's something interesting, anyways.
So tell me why all of the good, current musicians are performing for the kickoff celebration?!
To start the 43rd Super Bowl, Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, and Lifehouse will all perform, to be aired on VH1 @ 9:00 ET/PT, along with many other special guests.
That's pretty sweet.. Especially if they make a SHOW about it, rather than just performing. Better than stupid Bruce Springsteen.

super bowl worthy?

Super Bowl XLIII Halftime Show= Bruce Springsteen.
I know he's a classic musical artist. He performs some of the greatest songs in US history. But there lies my problem.
Ever since Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, the halftime shows have been "safety nets." They've been people of the past. Check it out-->
- 2008- Tom Petty
- 2007- Prince
- 2006- Rolling Stones
- 2005- Paul McCartney
- 2004- Janet/JT/Jessica Simpson
- 2003- Shania/No Doubt/Sting
- 2002- U2 (Tribute to 9/11 victims)
- 2001- My personal favorite of all time and shown below; Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Ben Stiller/Aerosmith, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Mary J. Blige, Nelly
(This is just AMAZING! Seriously, it combines all different kinds of music, INCLUDING songs of the past! EVERYONE is happy!)
And OK, it's great to see these people of the past again.. but at the same time, not everyone can relate. It's not new, exciting, fresh.. and it doesn't represent the year accurately at all. Before Janet/JT's performance, you could look back at the shows and be like "you're right, that was the ISH that year!" Now it's.. "That was the ISH.. twenty years ago."
Call me crazy if you want, but whoever is planning these things lately needs to step their game up. At least get multiple artists.
Bruce, I have no doubt that it will be a good show... I just hope it even halfway lives up to the shows of years past.

benefitting you billy, bruce and barack fans

Who loves Billy Joel? How abouttt Bruce Springsteen? I know there's at least a couple of you Barack Obama fans out there...
Well, they're teaming up to do a benefit concert! Ok, ok... so obviously Obama isn't performing. Billy and Bruce are going to be performing a concert to benefit Senator Obama!! Can you believe this is the first time they have ever done a concert together?!?!
I'm pretty sure this is going to be a bangin' concert.. and I'd LOVE to go.. but A) It's in NYC. B) It's on Oct. 16th which is TOTALLY a WVU game day... and oh yea.. C) Tickets START at 500$ !!!!! And go up to 10,000$ !!! Woah, that's hefty.
They do say that Mr. Amazing-Speaker himself WILL be there, though...
Again I'm going to give a shout out to Mr. Obama.. Oh hey! Wanna hook me up with a ticket? I'm from VA.. ya know.. one of the "battle states".......... ;)
