watch: gyms in the 1940s pummeled women

It's a clip from a 1945 episode of March of Times, showing off the girls-only gyms.



"They beat you and need you and pummel you and shake you... As long as you can take it."

WHAT. Apparently we were a lot less "dirty" back in the 40s and such things were okay to say on TV. Who woulda thunk.
