live chatting cut throat: episode 5

So I skipped out on the chat last week for a few reasons, a major one being technical difficulties the week before... But this weekend we HAVE to chat it up on here during the new episode of Cut Throat.

Have you SEEN the promo?! It looks like we're going to see the real, new Ty this episode. We saw glimpses of it during RWDC, but from what everyone has said to me, he's turned into a real monster.

Check out this Dailies video where a joke with Emily goes way too far with him again.

It seriously makes me sad to see him like that!! He's a real cool guy when he's sober... or at least used to be real cool. From what I hear, he's kinda on his own nowadays.. and he won't return my calls for me to make sure he's not completely MIA.

So let's chat tonight! Be here before the show and we'll do the usual polls, behind the scenes info, etc! And tell your friends so we have lots!

let's get ready for cut throat!

The website is live, there are a lot more teasers being shown, and we know everyone in the cast and the teams.

It's time to talk Cut Throat.

First and foremost, as I've told you before, let's welcome back Ty and Emily to our televisions.

Emily looks GREAT! For some reason they like to make Ty look really weird in every photoshoot he does for MTV.

Their bios for the show are pretty funny. To summarize- Emily is excited to compete, but will Ty mess up her excitement? Ty is looking for reputation redemption, but will he achieve it?

The answers that I will tell you: Yes and No. Yes Ty will fight with Emily, and no people won't think of him any differently.

And from what Paula said when she came to College Station- the vets do not like him and a lot of them think he's got a gay side and possibly an eating problem.

Oh boy, Ty.

I don't think we're going to need to worry about our DC'ers fading into the background amongst veterans.

As for the teams, here are the pictures and names [with totally made up team names]:

"Team Random." Melinda, Chet, Camila, Dunbar, Paula, Tyler, Megan, Brandon, Tori, and Brad.

"Team Drama." Ty, Theresa, Johnny, Katie, Eric, Emily, Emilee, Derek, Jenn, Derrick.

"Team Nice Guys." Ayiiia, Vinny, JD, Laurel, Shauvon, Sarah, Luke, Cara Maria, Dan, Abram.

If I had to guess- the names fit with the role they'll play... but these things are never predictable and we know this. Ty and Emily's team seems to have the most strong personalities. It also has a few "pairs." As much as people like Emilee and Derek might be pushovers, I think Ty, Johnny, Eric, and Derrick will make up for it.

I gotta be honest- A lot of this cast I don't know. I miss seeing some of the typical vets in the cast bios. I have a lot of catching up to do considering I don't always keep up with the Challenges, but don't worry... I'll be ready for October 6.

Here's who I am excited for, besides EmTy of course.

For some reason, Sarah has really grown on me. I like who she is and I like how she plays the game. I've also always been a big fan of how Brad does things, and now that I know Derrick is a grown ass man with a family in WV, I have to root for him!
JD and Derek are my total gay besties... or so I wish. JD was really cool when I met him in DC, and he seems like he could be a silent threat. Derek is just cute and funny.
Melinda is also someone who seems to be a quieter threat. Who knows how "quiet" she'll be, but she's a decently strong competitor.
Katie is like a wild card. You never know how she's going to act when a new challenge rolls around. After watching the teaser when she "gets her ass kicked," I laughed and got pumped.
And okay, okay... I'll admit it... I picked Vinny and Brandon solely for their looks... so what?!

There's really no predicting how things will go down besides what I've been told, so stay tuned for chat nights and maybe some other "what I think" posts once the show gets started! In the meantime, watch some of the teaser videos if you haven't yet!

The challenges look EFFING NUTS. Seriously. I would never, ever be able to do any of that I don't think. No way, no how.

BTW- Anyone think the "HE HIT A GIRL" might be about Ty? Goodness, I really hope not.

the real world dc: as we saw it, week 7!

Ah! We're officially halfway through this season!!! I'm sad! It's amazing how many things they're not showing!

Also, FYI- I posted about the fight that happened last night on Metromix on August 18th, which is only about a month after they got to DC! They were here for another two months after that, yet we're going to have to squeeze 2/3 of their time here into half of the season! It's a little ridiculous.

AND! SPOILER ALERT! It was not that long after that a certain someone left the house.

Needless to say, I'm a little unhappy about the timeline of events right now. There's way too much still to show, and not nearly enough time. They're wasting too much time on silly things, such as the fights last night.

This week I decided it was absolutely necessary to get Emily on the phone. She was a neutral party in the fights, so who did she side with in the end!? Plus... How does she feel about the ridiculousness that is her and Ty?!

She's definitely one of my faves from the house, so take a listen! If there's someone that every guy imagines as their dream girl, I have a feeling it's Miss Emily Schromm.

Unfortunately Chris was uber sick and couldn't join this week! :( Fingers crossed he's feeling better by next week! It feels weird talking to myself!

Also, to read the chat from last night's episode, click here!

As always, remember to subscribe, download, whatever! Thanks for listening!

the premiere of the real world: dc

Holy moly, the day has come and gone... Can you believe it?! Not I, that's for sure.

In case you've been hiding in a cave or boycotting me for the past couple months, the day was December 30th- The premiere of MTV's The Real World: DC. [Again, if you've just come back to life, you should catch up. Pronto.]

My friend and fellow RWDC guru Chris and I organized and co-hosted THE premiere event along with Metromix DC. [I guess it's technically not "official" since MTV didn't sponsor it... But it was certainly the one to be at!]

Before we move on and talk details, it may be easier to see it via video. I think this calls for the finale of eTV's Finding the Real World DC Cast. [You didn't really think I'd end with a failure, did you?!] It's in two parts because there was just so much goodness, so make sure to watch them both! You'll see just how it all went down!

Honestly, I keep wanting to just say the night was absolutely unreal, but I guess that wouldn't be correct. It was very "Real." It was also amazing, incredible, fun... The list goes on.

Watching the first episode with the cast was great. It was exciting to see their faces and reactions [even though they've seen it before], and even ask on the spot questions about it all. [For example, "Emily, did you really believe everything Andrew was saying?!" The answer: Yes. Why wouldn't I?!]

I also loved watching it with so many DC fans. That may have been one of my favorite parts, actually. Hearing y'all scream with excitement, laugh, yell at Ty for the religion fight... It was refreshing to see [for both myself and the cast, I think] that DC did appreciate them being here, and will absolutely make this a top rated show. YAY!

I think the eTV finale really shows all that needs to be shown when it comes to the events. Now I just want to take the time to say thank you, SO much, to everyone who came out. Chris and I knew this could be an incredible event for everyone to remember, but just like any party, you can't ever predict the outcome. We appreciate each and every one of you for following us through this journey and being there for the end of one chapter, and the beginning of another when it comes to RWDC.

Also, of course, I need to thank Ashley, Callie, Emily, Mike and Ty. Having you guys there made the night and I can't thank you enough for coming out! It was great to finally hang out, sans cameras, and get to know each other! Every one of you is great, hilarious, crazy, and interesting... And incredibly patient for dealing with my annoying ass all summer. So again, thank you for everything, friends! ;)

One final thank you: To all the media/news/photography people who came out! You obviously had a huge part in the success as well! [And though I'm a little upset Patrick from Metblogs was in my seat during the tequila shot, I'm glad he came!]

Now, if you'd like to see even more, here are some pictures that I took throughout the night:

And these fantabulous pictures are thanks to Metromix and Alfredo Flores:

Like I've said before, this isn't the end the elizabethany-RWDC connection. I will be posting podcasts once a week called "The Real World DC, As We Saw It" right here on love, elizabethany. We'll [myself along with Chris and other various people involved, including the roommates] be taking a look at the episodes and talking more about what really happened here in DC.

Again, thanks to everyone involved with the premiere! It was a major SUCCESS!
*HIGH FIVE, CHRIS!*

love,
elizabethany

PS: If you want to watch the entire first episode, you're welcome. [Thanks MTV ;)]

your real world dc fix 112409

It's been a little while since I've given a real update on the world of MTV's The Real World: Washington, DC and well, I feel bad about it.

First of all- It's thanks to RWDC that I've gotten so many of you "new" readers to this site, and I couldn't be more appreciative. So.. Thank you! Thanks for checking it out an coming back for more! You da best!

Second- Tonight marks the airing of the first commercial for the season!!!! According to Ashley, it's a 2-minute long commercial happening right after tonight's "The City!" So, set your alarms, DVRs, whatever you have to remind you to watch tonight at 11:00!

Finally- A catch up. It's been over a month since the roomies moved out of DC [Can you believe it?!] and they're all settled back into their homes across the nation. [As far as I can tell, anyway.]

Andrew and Josh are still happily in relationships, the girls and Mike are enjoying life back at home, Josh is still practicing with his band Wicked Liquid, and Ty is successfully hiding from me and the world. [Again, as far as I can tell for myself...] And oh yeah... Erika's hair isn't red anymore. [I totally loved it red, for the record. She pulled it off well!]

Also- it came to my attention that Andrew used to draw cartoons for his school's paper, The Rocky Mountain Collegian! They're absolutely hilarious and totally controversial, just the way we like them!

There are SO many of these, and I wish I could share them all.. But instead, click here, read them, and all of the hate letters his newspaper got for publishing them. [THAT'S how you know you're good, don't forget!]

We did get some videos of inside the house. [By we, I of course mean the Internet. Production continued to hate me, so no... I never made it in. Totally lame.] Here they are, from a variety of people:

From Vox Populi
[I love that Ty says Twitter made it better... Ya damn right! ;) And their answers for the camera/production crew- Probably a little scripted... I think they had some involvement... We hear that may have been extra involvement, if ya get what I'm sayin'.]

NBC 4

Washington Post

There's this article from the Georgetown Voice that talks about them being here, us bloggers, and the hate that Executive Producer Jim Johnston has for us. [I really just wish I could sit and talk to him like I have in my dreams a couple times... I'd explain everything!]

Other than that, my extra episodes, and waiting for tonight's commercial, we're now just looking forward to December 30th- the premiere date! Mark your calendars because Metromix and I will be at Blackfinn for a viewing party for all you RWDC fans! It's going to be a GREAT time, and I want to see all of you there, so make sure you RSVP!!

Countdown: 37 days!!! [I can't even imagine how excited the roommates are considering my excitement!]

elizabethany
