best scholarship ever

I know a decent amount of people who went down to Panama City, FL for Spring Break, along with MTV, last week. I heard it was crazy, fun, outrageous... Everything you'd expect college Spring Break to be.

What I didn't know, was that they were holding the most creative scholarship competition I've ever heard of. And if no one that I know participated in it, I'm going to be very disappointed.

Pepsi's AMP Energy Drink sponsored the USA Rock Paper Scissors League's first collegiate tournament, in which the winner got $20,000 towards their tuition!!!

Yes.. They had dozens of people flown in to play Rock, Paper, Scissors to win that much money. They entered the ring, had a commissioner, and went along with the tournament.

If you're like me, you're thinking, "wow! What an EASY way to win that money! All you have to do is be lucky"

They say this game/sport actually takes brainpower and thought, rather than athletic ability, though, and that's why it's such a great scholarship. The commissioner even said this in order to kick it all off:

"Your brains got you into college, but you're going to use your fists to pay for it"

Did you ever think you'd hear such a quote pertaining to an education scholarship?! Uhh.. Not I.

In the end, Naco, a sophomore from Syracuse won. Just like that. By pumping his fists and throwing out random symbols, he now has probably close to a year of free college. And I'm officially jealous.

If anyone ever hears about something like this AHEAD of time, let me know! Then we can come together as a huge "L.E." group and DOMINATE! I'm sick of hearing about it all after the fact. Please and thanks.

love,
elizabethany

PS: The whole story that the LA Times wrote is pretty in depth, and interesting.
