celebrity cover christmas carols

There's just ONE WEEK until CHRISTMAS!! And it's also TOP 10 THURSDAY!

So, in order to seriously get you pumped for next Thursday and the holiday season, I present to you 10 songs that you need to put on a CD pronto. They are

The Top 10 (Plus an Honorable Mention) Celebrity Cover Christmas Carols

Honorable Mention: Kelly Clarkson--> Grown Up Christmas List

This song definitely needs to make the list, but I'm not sure where. It's been done by so many people, but Kelly's version is beautiful. It's from before her voice got all raspy, which makes it even better. The lyrics are meaningful, and the song is good.

10. TLC--> Sleigh Ride

This song has a nice variety to it. It's like a bunch of Christmas songs mixed together into one. And, it definitely has the capability of sticking in your head for the entire day, which is okay in my book when it comes to Christmas songs. You can't really get sick of them if you only hear them a couple times a year, right?

9. Miley Cyrus--> Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Go ahead and shoot me for including Miley on this list, I don't care. In fact, I wonder if it should be higher on the list. This song is all about ROCKIN' [;)] and I think her version is perfect not only for the younger crowd, but also the young adult generation to "rock out" to! It can get you pumped up for the holidays, and if you have a brush and a mirror, chances are you might end up dancing around your room in your underwear, singing this song.

8. Boys II Men--> Let It Snow

This song will add the slower, softer touch to any Christmas CD, but still keep you happy and in the mood for the holidays. It also has the power to get stuck in your head, but it's such a beautiful song that it's okay. Plus, who doesn't wish for a nice, white Christmas?! Everyone dreams of it, so Let it Snow!!

7. Britney Spears--> All I Want For Christmas [Santa, Can You Hear Me?]

Does it surprise you that she's on this list?! Honestly, it's not just because I love her. I would compare this song to Mariah's in a heartbeat. It definitely has the classic feel to it, and the power to stick around for generations, I think. Plus, it's another one of those that you can strip down and dance around your lonely house to, while you bake cookies!

6. Jackson 5--> Santa Clause Is Coming To Town

You HAVE to include the Jackson 5 on any Christmas CD! And this is their best one. Michael's little kid voice that we all know and love perfectly captures the anticipation of waiting for Santa. It gets you SUPER pumped!

5. NSYNC--> Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays

If you don't love this song, then I don't love you. This is where I don't know how to list these fantastic songs. They could go in any order from here on out, I think. But whatever, NSYNC DEFINITELY made a keeper with this song. Period.

4. Faith Hill--> Where Are You Christmas?

Here's your sad Christmas song. You've gotta have at least one, and Faith Hill makes this so pretty that it doesn't matter. It's straight from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," but you'd never know from her version. It's not childlike at all.. It's very meaningful.

3. Marilyn Monroe--> Santa Baby

This song needs NO explanation. Of course "Santa Baby" had to be on here at some point.. And Marilyn's version is a true classic. No one has done it better since.

2. Mariah Carey--> All I Want For Christmas Is You

I have no doubt in my mind that every girl will agree with me here, I just wonder how many of you guys believe in this song. Talk about a song that will stick around for generations. It's a song that everyone loves, and will love.. And one that people can't wait for the opportunity to play during the holidays. It might even be acceptable to play sometimes during the year. MAYBE. MAYBE Chritmas in July or something.

1. Chris Brown--> This Christmas

If you don't know it, listen to it now. Lots of times. You're going to love it. It's so fun to sing. It starts off slow, and picks up.. Which definitely gets you pumped. I always liked "This Christmas," but it was no where near one of my favorite songs.. Not until Chris's version. It's perfect. I love it. And you do too.

So there ya have it. Pull out your iTunes and a blank CD, and burn it. Then listen to it lots!

Happy Holidays!!

love,
elizabethany
