watch/listen: dj earworm's summer 2013 mix!

Everyone always speculates what the songs of a given summer will be, but DJ Earworm is here to define them... with his official Summer 2013 mix!

It's not my most favorite mix from him, but maybe because there's a couple songs I was trying to figure out throughout it. Either way, what he does with these is still freaking impressive to me. There's a lot of thought in there, and I appreciate it!

FYI, these are the songs:

  • Armin van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie - This Is What It Feels Like
  • Bastille - Pompeii
  • Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams- Get Lucky
  • Demi Lovato - Heart Attack
  • Icona Pop feat .Charlie XCX - I Love It
  • Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us
  • Pitbull feat. Christina Aguilera - Feel This Moment
  • Rihanna feat. David Guetta - Right Now
  • Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams
  • Will.i.am feat. Justin Bieber
  • Zedd feat. Foxes - Clarity

nifty things you need for summer but will never afford

.... that is unless you have a sugar daddy, of course.

Anyone can say they're going to have the best summer ever, but let's be honest with ourselves... it can always get better. Until we have any of these things in our lives, we'll never have the best summer ever.

Mermaid suits

Totally customizable and ready for you to shock everyone at the beach. Imagine if you swim a little ways down the beach, then make yourself a "beached mermaid." OMG AND THE CROWD GOES WILD. And it might actually be affordable... for $350.

Inflatable Twister board

Maybe you're like, "it looks cool, but not that cool." Stop it. Have a couple beers. Put it on the water. Call the role of the spinner, and watch people play. You just got entertainment for days for $2000.

Pool rock climbing wall

I can't see how this is even remotely safe, besides the fact that you're landing in "soft" water, but hey! It looks like a freakin' blast! You'd instantly have the best pool on the block in the state. No more competing for the best pool party of the summer, you got this for at least $4,000.

Self controlled ski-boat

So ya wanna go skiing but you don't wanna get a boat yourself and all of your friends have the same excuse. Badda bing, badda boom! This little boat is easy enough for anyone, and it can pull you behind it at 40mph! Best part: The handle is a remote control, so you tell it where to go and what waves to catch for $17,000.

BBQ boat

WOAH BEST OF ALL WORLDS! You can cook out, not just by the water, but on the water, with 9 of your besties! The grill is on board and all the utensils/things you would ever need, plus it looks great. You can seriously amaze for $50,000... or for a little less get the hot tub boat!

Hidden pool

Pools definitely look gorgeous in a backyard, but sometimes ya just wanna put them away so you can let people walk around. Sometimes you want to make it a little more shallow when it's super cold. People will think you're the neatest of the neat with this diddy for $65,000.

And now prepare yourself for the Sports Park 60. AKA water playground.

SIXTY PEOPLE can play on this thing at once! and we're not talking kids. It's got trampolines, beams, ramps, jungle gyms, climbing walls, the blob, bars, mini boats... literally everything you could ever want for your entire life. It needs to be added to the list of things we need for our adult summer camp. I can't stop staring. It's beautiful. It's perfect. It's $70,000.

I don't know how many times I gotta ask for a Sugar Daddy until one finally shows up at my door, but I'll keep trying. I'd really enjoy being everyone's favorite person in the summertime... plus my birthday issss coming up....

the perfect adult summer camp schedule

I saw a commercial for one of the gymnastics summer camps I went to as a kid and immediately got so jealous. Why are there no summer camps that adults can escape to [without having to watch over children]?!

It seemed like a lot of people felt my pain in having something missing from their lives, so let's just imagine what the perfect day would be like, after making your brand new friends...

11:00 am- Wake up, and head to brunch. Free Mimosa and Bloody Mary bars included.

12-2:30 pm- Leisure time. Hang out with friends, play on ropes courses, ziplines, trampolines, horseback riding, dune buggies, paintball, arcade, etc.

2:30-5:00 pm- Sports time. Every sports facility imaginable available from fields to gymnastics gyms... workout equipment to swimming pools... water sports and extreme sports... even circus sports.

5-7:00 pm- Happy hour and dinner. If we're really dreaming, we wouldn't have to pay for the drinks... or they're only $1 during this time.

7-9:00 pm- Group activities. Campfires, slip n slides, mud wrestling, competitions like tug o' war and kickball, etc.

9-10:00 pm- Get ready/pre-game time.

10pm-2:00 am- Themed bar night. Each night is different [subject to change].
  • Monday: Karaoke
  • Tuesday: Party Like It's 1999
  • Wednesday: Anything But Clothes
  • Thursday: White Trash
  • Friday: Celebrity
  • Saturday: Halloween
  • Sunday: Pajamas

2:00 am- Get an anti-hangover shot/pill and head to bed.

Damnit, now I'm even more mad I can't just get away and do this right now. There are some adult summer camps, but they're mostly pretty focused on what you like to do. There's also a Camp Grounded in Cali that seems to have a little bit of everything, minus the adult activities and extreme sports.

So now the question is... who's gonna fund this idea and help me make it happen?! It shouldn't be that hard, right?!?!

nifty?: gillette's new holey towels

There's something about an eye-catching beach towel that makes me giddy these days. Old school, super-fan-worthy, or just clever- I dig 'em.

Gillette is getting funny and clever! In order to remind people to not scare everyone away by not shaving, they've created these silly little things.

Sure, the holes are a little inconvenient, ESPECIALLY if you'll be sitting in the grass, but it's not like you need a full towel! And just THINK of the conversation starting possibilities!

I love it. I'd totally get one. Would you?

watch/listen: dj earworm's summertime mix for the uk

I got all sorts of excited and flustered while reading everyone's tweets about "DJ EARWORM'S EPIC SUMMER MIX IS OUT!!!!" It's too early in the summer for him to be doing all that, plus, I couldn't let everyone else hear it before me!

BUT! Though this is a summertime mix, it's not THE one. And it's good, but it's not EPIC.

He did it for the UK's biggest station, Capital FM, and their annual Summertime Ball.

Dude's talented. But we already know that.

watch/listen: dj earworm's summer mix

I'm a HUGE fan of DJ Earworm's end of the year mash-ups. They're AWESOME.

Now he's done one for this summer with all of the hottest/upcoming songs. It's called "Like, OMG Baby"

Homeboy is seriously talented. I don't know all those songs but I know I will soon! Love. I'm going to be bumpin' THIS. At least I'll be guaranteed not to get sick of one single song.

nifty: cupholder flip flops

These could be my dream come true.

I love flip flops. Most girls do. Once it hits about.... 45-50 degrees, that's all I'll wear.
I also love the beach. Most people do. I love drinking on the beach, no matter what the beverage is. [However... A Corona with lime is obviously the most fitting...]

Finally someone used the ol' noggin and invented flip flops that double as a cup holder!

Thanks to Quiksilver, we can now walk out onto the beach with just our flip flops, keep our feet from getting burnt, and our drinks from getting sandy... Without bringing anything extra!

Oh my goodness. I need these in my life. I also need a beach in my life. Pronto.
