That's like the lamest of all titles, but I can't believe it even popped into my head so I had to keep it.

Anyway... I've been spending an outrageous amount of time in the office lately and because I always sit in bizarre positions, something comfortable is necessary. Even though I work in radio and no one would give any s#!*s about me rolling straight outta bed and going, I feel the need to get dressed.

Enter maxi skirt season. Covering the [possibly hairy] legs and the most comfortable thing to wear next to leggings. I decided to break out my bright yellow one that I made last year. And now that I finally have a fitting chambray shirt, that was a must.

Natural hair also happens when you're rushing to the office every morning. It's been having an extra curly moment and I'm not mad about it... but is scrunching still a thing?

wearing: winter in the spring

As much as I love getting some wear out of my winter-clearance items, I'm over it. I'm ready for bright colors, flats/sandals, and not worrying about carrying a coat around.

...but here we are... A week into Spring and I'm wearing a scarf and coat and still freezing. I decided to at least lighten it up a bit yesterday.

I'm so excited I finally found a chambray shirt that fits pretty good! It's darker than most, but I feel like it'll be a good contrast with hot pinks and yellows that I wear all the time in the Spring.

I've been going to work with wet hair lately [and just trying to hide my roots and nappy hair that I decided to show off here, I guess] so the easiest thing is an "LC-braid" that goes all the way down. Then I just double rolled the braided pony underneath and bobby pinned it up.

My fabulous blue liner is from Chella via Ipsy. I love the color, but it definitely doesn't go on easily/well.

How do we feel about the half-tucked shirts? Not going to lie... It took me several attempts to make the "untucked" look, look alright. People on Pinterest make it look so good and easy.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to waste the only hour of "extra time" I have by playing 2048 or trying to decide what to buy from this website.

outfit: skater dress with some bling

Sometimes it's really hard for me to pick outfits for Friday nights. Whatever it is, I have to wear it to work, and then wear it out, to a bar that probably hasn't been picked by the time I leave. It could be fancy, it could be chill.... the options are endless.

Dresses are my go-to for these days. They require the least amount of matching, and are acceptable anywhere. I picked my $6 skater dress and dressed it up with a blingy necklace, and made it workable for the chilly night with some chambray.

You might notice the necklace has a missing piece, but I colored it in with a Sharpie and I don't think it's noticeable unless you're looking that close. Some call me cheap, I call myself practical.

Side note: I love living with a dog again. Dogs make life way more fun and active. That's Abby. She's great.

pinspired outfit: sequins, pastel, and chambray

The lastest Pinterest lesson I've learned: If you have something sparkly, you can always tone it down with some chambray or a sweater.

Yesterday, I chose chambray, thanks to seeing this outfit:

I can't find the original posting of that, so I don't know how much it cost, but mine was a whopping $54.  

-sequin tank: $8 from Walmart! [similar]

-chambray shirt: $15 from Target [I hate that I paid that much for it because it's way too big/mostly pointless now]

-pink jeans: $11 from Forever21

-flats from BCBG clearance! $20! [similar for 19!]

 I wanna do my hair different ever time again, so I did the typical "LC braid" but kept it going to hang down on the side.

  

I also have a new hate for my shirt because of its lightness. I wanted to wear this outfit with mint jeans, but it was like the same color all the way down. My version had to be light on top, dark on the bottom unlike the original pinspiration.

I'm still unsure how much I like this outfit. I'm a little torn. I wish I had better shoes, but I'm not sure what I'd pick if I had my choice of anything. Feel free to always give me suggestions on how to make an outfit better! @chickgonebad did for my dress/boots outfit, and I'm so glad! Now I won't make the same mistake again!

This challenge is way harder than the last one. I don't have nearly the amount of fall clothes I hoped/thought I had... but hopefully I can make it through!

pinspired outfits: sequins at work and white jeans

Dang. I made it halfway through my Pinspired Challenge with nothing but smooth sailing... then I kept forgetting to take pictures/get them up. Time to play a little catch up!

If you haven't noticed, a lot of them have been outfits that are a little out of my comfort zone. [AKA I normally wear pretty plain things- shorts or jeans and a tank top with flops.] This day I took a bit of a risk and broke out my sequin skirt that I love, but feel like I can only wear on New Year's Eve.

My skirt, like most of my clothes, is from Forever21 for $12. Chambray shirt [that is now way too big for me, which makes me sad] is from Target for $15, and the shoes are from Charming Charlies for $5! I forgot to take a picture of the back of them, but they have some ruffles/rhinestones on the back to add a little snazz!

Not only is it super fancy for me on an average workday, but it's also against my usual "summer= bright colors only" rule. The good news: It'll last me long into fall, and is great to wear out and to the office! ...Even though everyone gave me the "WTF are you wearing and why are you so fancy right now" face.

I wish my white jeans were stretchy/a little more comfortable, then maybe I'd wear them more. The truth is: I never think of outfits for them, nor do I try very hard to match a purse to my outfit. This isn't the most complicated outfit, but it includes my new favorite shirt of the year and is nothing but bright.

NO idea how much the original costs [stupid pinners doing it wrong], but my shirt is from Old Navy clearance for $18 [way more than I'd usually spend, but it's beyond comfortable, flattering, versatile, and my favorite color of right now], jeans from Wet Seal for $20, and purse from Kohl's clearance for $14. It also has a long strap to attach so that I don't lose it! 

Yeah, I know.... I still need to find a better location to take these pictures... my backyard is much too ugly, and my hallway is lame with awful lighting. I don't know how these pro-bloggers do it!
