on the racks: bret michaels bares it all [almost] for billboard

Tweet It must be the kind of day where old-school musicians feel like being naked on my blog... Not that it's a regular occurrence or anything....

Not only is Seal gettin' jiggy with Heidi in his new music video, but now Bret Michaels is showing you everything but his goods on the cover of Billboard.


Their Maximum Exposure issue compiles a list of celebs who are accelerating their career in various ways. Bret Michaels is #30 thanks to cable TV- Rock of Love, winning The Apprentice, and now his new VH1 show- Life As I Know It.

"TV has absolutely made my sales go up, made my tour guarantees go up. TV has been a great addition to my career. But the key thing is knowing what to walk away from. I advise anyone-especially musicians-to be very careful not to just grab anything they throw your way."

Apparently he was also really close to being an Idol judge. He said he was in the "final four" and even in talks with being a judge on X-Factor. For some reason, he settled for his own show on VH1 that will probably make everyone roll their eyes, but still watch.

My question is: Is the cover too much for you?! Are you covering your eyes or wanting to take that oh-so-convenient circle away?!

Tweet OMG! Not many things can make me laugh out loud in a "quiet" office, but this did.

There is an Antoine "Hide ya kids, hide ya wife" Dodson doll for sale on eBay.

That's another way you know you've made it. Amazing.

Oh, and one more way to know- An auto-tune song of what you said on the news hits the Billboard Top 100 chart... Cuz yes, that happened.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. I love the end of the year because I love all of the Top-Whatever lists.

Billboard has already figured out their best songs, albums, tours, etc. etc. etc. of 2008, and I'm here to present them to you. :)

Billboard is 50 years old this year!! Woah!

And they have all kinds of lists on their site you can check out, but my faves were "All-Time Top 100 Songs" and "All-Time Top Artists"..

It's pretty interesting to see how the music and artists of today compare to everyone in the past 50 years.. I've always wondered which songs that we hear now will be considered "classics" later on.. or what will be on the "oldies" stations when we are all old and with kids.

Here are my highlights for the All-Time Top 100 Songs..

99. Usher, U Got It Bad.. good song, okay.
97. Gloria Gaynor, I Will Survive.. I totally look at this as a classic. I'm disappointed it's so far down.
95. Madonna, Like A Virgin.. woah. DEFINITELY a classic.. weird.
89. Fergie, Big Girls Don't Cry.. out of all of the Fergie songs, this IS my favorite. But I can't imagine it's really her best one to everyone else... let alone good enough to beat out "Like a Virgin"
88. Usher, You Make Me Wanna.. I think I'd pick U Got It Bad over this one..
86. Phil Vassar, Another Day in Paradise.. one of the very few country songs on here (I'm disappointed..) but overall a good song.
84. Puff Daddy, I'll Be Missing You.. really great song. Glad it's on here.. I think maybe I'd put it even higher
78. All-4-One, I Swear.. O-M-G! TOTALLY a classic for our generation I think! I'd definitely put it higher :)
