This week we're kickin' it with a familiar face here on love, elizabethany: Badio!
He's got a new track called "Girl at the Mall," and I want you to let me know: Is it HOT or NOT?!
And the polling doesn't end there! Eddie Smotkin has FOUR wins under his belt, and is ONE win away from becoming my first Local Limelight Legend! Can Badio take that away from him?!
Ooohh this is going to be exciting! We'll find out by Tuesday night who the winner is!
Remember: Tune in to www.party934.com every Wednesday morning from 8-11 for the elizabethany show!
Another Wednesday morning has come and gone and I did my usual show on Party934!! That means I had another person to introduce you to for the Local Limelight!
This week's focus: Fuzzy G.
You may recognize him from Wicked Liquid, the band on Real World DC. He's the guitarist, and he's freakin' talented.
He does his own solo thing on the side, and this is the song he picked for me to feature this morning. It's called "Lady in the Water," and I need you to decide: Is it HOT or NOT?!
Now... Can he become a Local Limelight Legend?! [By winning 5 weeks!] Eddie Smotkin won it last week against D-Why!.. Who moves on this week?!
As you should know by now, every Wednesday morning from 8-11am I host my own radio show with Party934! I play a lot of 90s music, talk about a lot of fun things, and keep it entertaining for everyone.
Today I started my "Local Limelight" segment. Each week I will play a song from a local artist and ask you to rate it!
My first subject: Eddie Smotkin. His song: "Abe Lincoln" The description: "Perfect for the soundtrack to your keg party."
You be the judge! If it's HOTT, maybe I'll play it again! Maybe I'll even turn this into a competition! It all depends on you.
Thanks for your input! Feel free to leave more feedback in the comments box below! I'd love it.
Ah! I missed a week so I should have plenty to share with you today, right?! Here's all the new music worth giving a listen to:
Darius Rucker--> Drinkin' and Dialin'
This song hasn't hit the radio yet, but it's an absolutely fantastic song that anyone can relate to. Don't lie. You do it too. Download it. Now.
Carrie Underwood--> Temporary Home
You know the song, but here's the video! Ah, I love it. The song gives me chills every single time, and the video definitely makes it even more real. I won't lie- It made me cry!
Avril Lavigne--> Alice [Underground]
Apparently Avril is singing the song for the new Alice in Wonderland! Good move on her part.. The movie is takin' the country by storm. It's an OK song, but is Avril on the way back up?! Hmmm.
Cascada--> Fever
The beat of this song sounds way too much like "Evacuate the Dancefloor" for me to take it seriously. It's good I guess but they should have came with something a little more different.
Iyaz--> Solo
I guess this is one of the "in sounds" of right now. I'm cool with it, but I don't love it.
JTX--> [I'm Gonna] Party Like a Rockstar
You might be surprised that I'm going to say this, but I actually really like this song. Maybe it's the mood I'm in, but I totally think it'll be fun to jam out to this song! Agreed? OK great.
Little Boots--> Remedy
This girl has a relatively different sound to her. She's a little Lady Gaga and a little of her own... For that reason, I'd say get used to the song.
VV Brown--> Shark in the Water
Now THIS girl has the Jamaican sound but she's a female, so she's really a breed of her own, right?! Everyone is already singing it all over YouTube... I think I'd enjoy singing it too. Fun!
Usher ft. Nicki Minaj--> Lil Freak
What a dirty song! He's jumpin' right back into that single status with his songs, eh?! I don't see THIS version hitting the airwaves for obvious reasons... But it's not a bad song.
Drake Murphy--> She's Goin' Crazy
I enjoy songs that make me dance the first time I listen to them and this one totally did that! We can't have another Drake around right now though, can we?!
Eddie Smotkin--> Make This Count [Remix] I like this local guy, and the band Boys Will Be Boys originally made the song. [I lovee it!] It's not my favorite Eddie Smotkin song, but I have listened to it twice already, and that's a big deal.
It's time for another elizabethany exclusive interview!!
I'm taking it back to the roots with this one. [Meaning hometown heroes.. Or whatever you want to call it.]
My tall, obnoxious, producer BFF apparently produced an album for his friend, Eddie Smotkin. I knew nothing of the sort until after it was all done, but I must say- The kid is good.
He's a white rapper from College Park, Maryland, but he doesn't fit the stereotype at all. [Not that I know what the stereotype would be... I just know he's different, and good.]
Then you can listen to my quick interview and 8 questions with him. He's a funny dude. He has good answers, and he even threw some questions my way! It totally threw me off a little bit, but it was fun! Then, he ditched me for Thirsty Thursday.
So make sure to check out his music and look forward to this winter!
Thank you to Eddie and Teddy... Teeheehee that rhymes.
