photo diary: california sunsets

I'm a sucker for a good sunset or sunrise. Isn't everyone, though?!

One of the things I was most excited for in Cali was catching the sunset every night. Unfortunately, it happened way too early [about 4:30-5:00 every night], but I planned my entire day around where I'd be when it passed the horizon.

Like I've said a million times, I'm no professional photographer, nor do I use any really fancy equipment, but I like taking pictures. Here are some of my faves of nothing but the beautiful sunsets.

From Pfeiffer Beach, in Big Sur.

This beach was stacked with professional photographers, so I just found my way around them to not look like an idiot. It's no wonder they were all there, though. You had to drive down a two mile trail of a "road" to get to it.

Some of the sand was PURPLE! AKA gorgeous.

The red tone on all of the rocks [everywhere] was freaking fantastic.

Seal Beach, right above Huntingon Beach. I had to pull over into this little neighborhood because I wasn't going to make it to Huntington. Not mad. It was empty.

Coronado Beach in San Diego

Since I was alone, I decided I should take pictures of complete strangers and pray they didn't catch me. That woman was awesome. This couple spent the entire hour taking selfies.

For one of the days, I was walking over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran... which in theory is a great idea until you realize the sun sets behind a mountain. Still, an awesome walk to make.

Mr Mike Klein wasn't too fond of the heights back there.

Still working on getting so many things ready to get posted... it really was a life changing trip. If you haven't met my boyfriend yet, get on it.

podcast: my relationship advice for the people

After my week in Men Rehab, I feel like a pro at relationships.... or.... maybe lack there of but WHATEVER.

Decided to help my people out on the show with the realest advice I could give.

If you ever need me, you know I'm here for ya. Just holler at ya girl.

PS As my friend, I expect you to never let me say "holler at ya girl" again.

introducing my new california boyfriend

For the past week, I've been all over California on a little "Men Rehab." You see, I had a couple of instances in my life and some of my friends' lives that made me throw my hands up and forfeit when it comes to humans with a thing hanging between their legs. I just couldn't handle it anymore.

I'll have more pictures from the entire trip coming up this week, but I have to tell you about my new boyfriend from San Francisco.

We've chosen to keep his identity private because, ya know, stalkers and the media and everything... but I found him in the candy store of all places! He came with a lot of promises and I trusted him to not let me down.

I've heard of men being "growers," but this seemed like the ultimate grower AND shower! So we went on our first date- a picnic in Point Lobos near the cliffs and the water. I drove, but it was hard to concentrate with this babe of a shotgun rider.

The view was incredible. We sat on a bench, shared a sandwich, and it was all so good we even had our first kiss there.

He then took me to a beach with purple and pink colored sand- it's like he just got me right away! And he even let me bury him.

And can we talk about how good my new favorite hunk looks in the sunset light?! I was falling in love with the quickness. I already knew that I could follow him anywhere in this world.

Our next date started with drinks, of course. I was hoping to take advantage of him this time so I got the big stuff.

It worked. Look what I got to wake up to in the morning. *insert heart eye emoji here*

Then something weird happened. I left him to sleep in his own waterbed for one night, and he woke up looking different. He had bumps everywhere, was a bit *soft* when I was handling him.
Hmph. You leave a guy alone for one night and he gets an STD and/or moves on?! It wasn't right.

Suddenly he showed up outside my hotel with my favorite flowers. Typical.

But of course I gave in, and we had a lovely bae-side dinner.

And then, one final California sunset. How can you hate a man who will pose for all your pictures and get you flowers?! Spoiler alert: You can't.

Now, I'm not sure what the future will hold for my new man and me. The soft thing is still an issue and who knows if he'll even stay as fun now that we're back on the East Coast... [Oh yeah, did I mention he came back with me to try things out? It seems fast but like, why wait?!] I'm hopeful, though. If nothing else, at least he taught me how to love again in such a difficult time.

elizabethany

PS I hope that you had already met boyfriend on Snapchat throughout the week. If you didn't, follow me now so you don't miss out on our future adventures! ;)

27 fall looks i'm loving

I'm constantly on the 'gram taking screenshots of outfits I love and then doing nothing with them.... so I figured, why not gather them all on one fabulous post? That way, not only do I have a more convenient place to find them, but you can see too!

Most of them come from the @liketoknow.it account because, duh, it's a gathering of all the best bloggers.

Dressing down all that glitter- yes.

Surely you already know these button down suede skirts are EVERYWHERE.

So many colors and patterns in one!

Sometimes looks are so simple and effortless and I swoon.

How come I don't look this cool when I throw a jacket over my shoulder?

Plaid, camel, booties. There ya go, fall!

Hopefully we all have the striped dress, army jacket, and booties staples in our closets already.

Okay these over the knee boots and the vest and the fringe... a lot of pieces coming together flawlessly.

Note to self: Folded over socks are cool again. This is literally the easiest outfit ever.

All black everything, and a navy purse?! The hat, the vest... I want it all.

Turns out grey and camel/brown can actually work together in beautiful harmony.

Dear Santa, can I have this skirt that matches my hair?!

Turtleneck gets surprisingly more sexy when you pair it with over the knee boots.

I think I'll always love an outfit with a hat... and/or a skater skirt.

Everyone's talking about gold make-up... and this is the simplest and best version I've seen.

I'm also a pretty big fan of Jacy Overstreet's simple style.

The black/white/grey/denim= must do.

How come the shirt around the waist doesn't work this well for me?

And props to @fashionablykay as well

I've learned that ripped black jeans are all an outfit needs right now.

And my girl Kendi

A reason to stock up on graphic tees? Darn.

Some celebs also know how to help a girl out...

Zendaya just rolled out of bed and looks amazing. Sigh.

Hi Redskins colors on my girl Melissa Rycroft.

Ali Fedotowski also combining a bunch of trendy pieces for that basic but great look.

So when you see me post an outfit, it's probably a total copycat. I'd check one of those accounts for the real credit. I'm just keeping it real, duh.
