you may have noticed some changes...

There are some changes on this here blog, but I'm excited about them, and I hope you are too! [I even have a new lil logo you'll be seeing more often!]

For almost 3.5 years I've had a bit of an identity crisis on here. It started as an entertainment blog, until I realized there are enough of those out there, so I put more of my honest opinion and some exclusive posts on it. When I got my first job [which was kinda the point of starting this], I had half the time I used to, so I think the overall quality of individual posts kinda declined. Still, I didn't wanna let anyone down!

Well, fast forward a year and I've finally decided to really make this blog about me and the things I love. I'll still have entertainment posts, and tons of things about the 90s, but it'll be stuff I really care about or find funny. Beyond that, I want to do a lot more posts about my life, what I'm doing with work but behind the scenes, and the neat stuff I steal from Pinterest.

Assuming you like me for who I am, I should still be able to provide you with plenty of fun. If you liked me for the Hangover posts, those will now be over on the station's website and as far as I'm concerned, you can suck my D because I think I'm cooler than a list of links. [Plus, I still share plenty of links on Twitter every day, duh.]

I have officially changed the link to www.elizabethany.com so you might need to change a bookmark. I partly did this because of the style-change, but since I'm always honest here, I need to tell you that I was an idiot, and missed the deadline to renew my domain name for loveelizabethany.com, and some douchebag took it from me.

Now I must get back to having a life, so I have interesting things to blog and talk about! But before I do that... a very sincere thank you for following me through all the changes. I mean it when I say it: You are da bomb diggity.

hangin and humpin at winterblast 2012

"I talk top 40, but I listen to country." That's what I had to explain to a lot of people on Saturday. It was my sister station, The Eagle's, 5th annual Winterblast concert with a long line-up of artists such as Sunny Sweeney ["From a Table Away"], Gloriana ["Wild At Heart"], and Josh Turner [he's the one with the real low voice, who has the "Baby lock the door and turn the lights down low" song that Scotty McCreery made even more famous].

My coworkers, BFF Mandy [who is normally referred to something much more inappropriate on here, but I can't put her face with that name] and I were all hooked up with a sweet VIP room with free beer and food, plus access to all the artists as they came in for interviews. During our off time: there were a bunch of cornhole games upstairs!

Here are some pictures and deets of my meetings with them!:

Sunny was totally nice and absolutely gorgeous, but seemed to always be in a rush, so I didn't get much of a conversation with her. Hmph.

Everyone in Gloriana was awesome! [You might remember them having a fourth member, Cheyenne, who used to be on MTV, but she's outta there now.] They were a little late, so I made a bet with my boss Shomby on who was to blame. I won! It was the blondie man who took forever to get ready, while Rachel was first. Duh.

What a beautiful man Josh Turner is.... when you're looking at him, anyway. He refused to couldn't do a radio interview [stupid] and then didn't do much talking at all during his meet and greet. I tried to loosen him up with a beer, and I even dry humped him!, and as you can see in the mid-hump picture, he was not too thrilled with anyone interrupting his smile. LAME. I hate when celebs ruin your perception of them.

Basically, it was a fabulous day, and it gave me an excuse to wear my cowboy boots again! I also got to wear a tube top in January. That was weird. [BTDubs, it's from Kohl's clearance and I kinda love it.]

EDIT: I received an email hating correcting me about this post and the things I said about Josh Turner. Be sure to check that out in the comments section below [or by clicking the title of this post!]

what they look like now: the casts of salute your shorts and step by step

It's like a treasure chest of "Where are they now" posts on the Internet today! First I find the cast of "Step by Step," then the ever so fabulous "Salute Your Shorts!"

Most of them are nowhere to be seen when it comes to being in the spotlight these days, which is why it's a beautiful thing to find them!

Here are your faves from "Step by Step:"

Christine Lakin AKA Alicia 'Al' Lambert

Christopher Castile AKA Mark Foster

Suzanne Somers AKA Carol Foster Lambert

Staci Keanan AKA Dana Foster

Angela Watson AKA Karen Foster

Sasha Mitchell AKA Cody Lambert

Patrick Duffy AKA Frank Lambert

Anndd, the Salute Your Shorts kids!

It's like... they're so normal now! I'm disappointed in the overall attractive level, though. Hmph.

tonight's dinner: honey pecan crusted chicken

I've been trying to stop buying frozen meals and actually making healthy options and recipes that I find on Pinterest. As much as I hate cleaning up the mess, it's proven to be freakin' delicious every time.

On the menu tonight: Honey Pecan Crusted Chicken.

[Side note: I need to stop taking pictures of food with my phone.. they don't do it any justice.]

It's a SUPER easy recipe that only calls for chicken, honey, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, corn or frosted flakes, and pecans or any nuts of your choosing!

Click here for the pin/recipe [and a way better picture]!

silly people who "#knockonwood" on twitter

I'm definitely a superstitious person, and am constantly knocking on wood for different things, and last night it got me curious about what else people are knocking for.

I searched "#knockonwood" on Twitter and found some interesting things... Here are the tweets and my responses:

Seriously... now I need to knock on wood just because of what other people are saying. That's a little scary.

watch: the man behind "the honey badger"

"The Honey Badger" is absolutely one of my favorite videos of 2011, if not of all time. To this day, I can't stop quoting it.

I don't think I ever wondered what the man behind the voice looked like, but I think that's because I had a pretty clear description in my imagination. Now, my mind has been blown.

The turtleneck! The facial hair! THE HOLLYWOOD GLASSES. The "I've always had a talent for narrating!" OMG. Randall is NOTHING like what I imagined. What a piece of work he is.

And BTW, in case you were wondering, he's finally stepping out into the spotlight because he's working on a book AND TV series. Hallelujah.

watch/listen: the cranberries' new music video "tomorrow"

The Cranberries have jumped on the bandwagon of helping us try to bring back all-things-90s. Here's there brand new song "Tomorrow."

At first listen, it's certainly nothing like their classics, but her voice has not changed a bit, so it's absolutely enjoyable and soothing.

Do you think that maybe we aren't used to sounds like this so that's why when they come back they're "not as good," or are they really a let-down?

pics: i got a new photoshoot!

It's been a WHILE since I had a photoshoot done, and considering the move altered by body in unflattering ways, I was hoping it'd still be another while.

BUT, the station was in need of an update when it comes to our pictures on the website. Half of us don't look anything like what our picture does anymore.

So I called on my cousin, Paige Engel, to come take some pics! Here are some of the best she got of me in the studio:

Obviously I had to "spice" it up by getting on the desk/table/whatever you wanna call it. Beyond that, I'm surprised I smiled so much. That normally doesn't happen.

Here are the new ones she shot for the website:

A big thank you goes out to Paige, and if you live anywhere near Ocean City, MD, you should totally check her out for any of your photo needs!

morning hangover 012411

Good morning and Happy Belly Laugh Day, Beer Can Day, and Compliment Day... So, basically, we're celebrating the beauty of the beer gut.

More beauty please, Internet!

And that's that for now! Still campaigning to get on Ellen's show! She showed some last night, I was not included. Hmpppphhh.

watch: my tease for the station's next contest

One of the coolest things about being here is being able to hook up the listeners with some seriously awesome prizes. We've given away tons of Coach purses, iPads, iPhones, and basically everything I would love to have but can't.

Next week we're doing something that I came up with and I am beyond excited for it! So excited that I made this little teaser vid to get them all amped.

Obviously the Mardi Gras theme is pretty obvious, but there are 3 little details that none of them have picked up on.

AH. I can't wait!

nifty: i got moo cards from klout!

People who tell me social media is silly still make me laugh, really hard, very loud. If you haven't already figured it out, it's pretty easy to make extra money, get free stuff, get jobs, etc.

If you're on Klout, you can get even more free things with all of their perks!

They're offering 100 free "moo cards," which are basically smaller business cards that are 100% customizable by you. You can have 100 different backs if you want, and whatever you want as the common front.

I chose to make 6 different backs, with the front featuring all of my main social media accounts. Here are the pretties:

If you pay attention to them, you'll see my new logo that I'm gonna start using more, and also "elizabethany.com" as my website. Yes, this here blog will be changing to that shortly thanks to issues that I'll explain later.

I plan on doing a lot more street marketing/interviews for my show, and these are perfect for that. Everyone I interview, meet, or talk to, I can just pass one of these to them and BAM! Hopefully I score me a new follower!

Overall, they're great quality. Some of them have some printing imperfections, but only something that my perfectionist self would notice. I think they're something people will enjoy and keep!

Holler if you got some too! I wanna see your design! DanChiz's have a QR code which I totally wish I would have added!

twitter in the 90s

For people who don't understand Twitter, let's put it in simpler terms... like what it would have been like in the 90s/in middle school.
Get it? Got it? Good!

monday morning hangover 012311

Good morning, and happy National Pie Day!

Break me off a piece of that, Internet.
And fingers crossed we see this video of mine on Ellen this week! Wahhh, I so hope it happens. Thanks to everyone who has helped share it! Don't stop! ;)

And that's all for now!
